Description

Container with product packaged therein
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a container with a product packaged therein. In particular, the invention relates to a rigid cylindrical container with a pasty product packaged therein.
Background
For various purposes, the products are packaged in cylindrical containers. Typically, in particular pasty products, such as adhesive materials and sealing materials, are packaged in sheet metal cans with a film layer. The product is often removed from the cartridge by pumping from above, wherein a funnel-like plate pressurizes the contents so that the product flows upward to the pump and can be further conveyed therefrom.
However, during this process, there is always a residual amount of product remaining in the container and no longer being able to be delivered by the pump. Depending on the system, this margin may be between 5 and 10 liters (in the case of a 200 liter bucket).
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a solution that enables better utilization of the product packaged in the container during use of the product. In particular, it is aimed to control the margin that cannot be conveyed any more as little as possible and to improve the economy and environmental compatibility of such packaged products.
This object is achieved by providing a container with a product packaged therein, the container comprising: a rigid cylindrical container having a bottom, a sidewall, and a lid; a flexible liner; a pasty product enclosed by a liner and disposed in said container; the container further comprises a liner disposed on the bottom and below the product enclosed in the liner, the liner having a substantially circular profile that is smaller than the bottom, and the liner being disposed substantially centrally on the bottom such that there is a spacing between the liner and the sidewall.
In experiments it was found that a significant part of the reasons for limited availability during pumping was that the pump plate was blocked by the folded liner as it moved downwards. In particular in the case of liners made of plastic film, there is a risk that the liner compressed along the side wall of the container forms an insurmountable resistance for the pump when it is pushed in the vicinity of the bottom of the container.
This finding can now be used according to the invention as follows: the liner is compressed by the liner to provide a space into which the liner can be pressed. By means of the gasket the effective bottom of the container is lifted in the central area (instead of in the edge area) and thereby the pump can squeeze out more material until it is blocked by the compressed liner.
It has also been shown that this effect can be optimized by adjusting the shape and size of the pad. Such an optimised pad is the subject of the dependent claims in particular.
By this gasket being as easy and inexpensive to manufacture, the economical and environmental aspects of the invention can be further improved. The use of such liners is advantageous here, in particular in products which are of high value and/or which are difficult to recycle.
The core idea of the invention is to optimize the hitherto known process of emptying such a container without having to change the emptying process or the equipment (e.g. pump) there. In other words, a container is provided according to the invention which additionally has a liner to optimize the emptying process. Thus, the user does not need to make adjustments or changes to the equipment or process.
In an exemplary embodiment, the liner is dimensioned relative to the container such that the distance is between 2cm and 10cm, preferably between 3cm and 9cm, particularly preferably between 3cm and 8 cm.
In an exemplary embodiment, the height of the liner is between 1% and 6%, preferably between 1.5% and 4% of the height of the container.
In an exemplary embodiment, the height of the pad is between 1cm and 6cm, preferably between 1.5cm and 4 cm.
In an exemplary embodiment, the pad has a rectangular or trapezoidal or polygonal cross section.
In an exemplary embodiment, the pad is essentially configured as a truncated cone, or as a truncated cone on a base, or as a cylinder with a rounded upper edge.
In an exemplary embodiment, the pad has at least two spacer holders which are dimensioned and arranged such that they bridge the distance between the pad and the side wall and thereby determine the position of the pad on the bottom in advance.
In one exemplary embodiment, the pad has at least three or at least four spacers.
In an alternative embodiment, the spacer has a circumferential ring as spacer, which ring is dimensioned and arranged such that it bridges the distance between the spacer and the side wall, so that the position of the spacer on the bottom is predetermined.
In an exemplary development, the encircling ring and the gasket are constructed in one piece and/or from the same material.
In an exemplary embodiment, the spacer has a height which is smaller than the height of the pad, in particular smaller than half of the height of the pad, and/or in particular the height of the spacer is between 20% and 60% of the height of the pad.
In an exemplary embodiment, the gasket is composed of foamed plastic.
In one exemplary embodiment, the pad is constructed as one piece.
In an alternative embodiment, the pad is constructed from a plurality of parts, wherein the individual parts are in particular constructed identically.
In an exemplary embodiment, the product is a one-component adhesive material or a sealing material, in particular a composition based on polyurethane, silane-terminated polymer, epoxy or silicone.
In an exemplary embodiment, the flexible lining is configured as a film, in particular as an aluminum foil or a polyethylene film.
In an exemplary embodiment, the container is constructed of sheet metal.
In an exemplary embodiment, the container has a volume of 50 liters to 500 liters, preferably 100 liters to 300 liters.
Drawings
The details and advantages of the invention are described below with reference to schematic drawings by means of examples. Wherein:
fig. 1a shows a schematic view of a container according to the prior art, in which a product is packaged;
FIG. 1b shows a schematic view of a container having a product packaged therein and having a liner;
fig. 2a shows a schematic view of a container according to the prior art, in which a product is packaged, which product is being taken out by a pump;
FIG. 2b shows a schematic view of a container having a product packaged therein and having a liner, the product being withdrawn by a pump; and
fig. 3a to 5b show schematic views of different gaskets.
Detailed Description
In fig. 1a container 1 according to the prior art is shown, in which a product a is packaged. The container 1 has the shape of a cylinder and comprises a bottom 2, a side wall 3 and a cover 4. Furthermore, the product a is enclosed by a liner 5.
In fig. 2b, a container 1 is again shown in which the product a is packaged, however the container 1 additionally comprises a liner 6. The liner 6 is arranged on the bottom 2 of the container 1 and below the product a enclosed by the liner 5. The liner 6 here has a smaller diameter 11 than the bottom 2 of the container 1. Since the pad 6 is arranged substantially centrally on the bottom 2, there is a distance 9 between the periphery of the pad 6 and the side wall 3. Furthermore, the pad 6 has a height 10.
In fig. 2a container 1 according to the prior art is shown, in which a product a is packaged, which product is being removed by means of a pump 7. During removal, the liner 5 is cut open at the upper side of the product a and the follower plate 8 of the removal device (not shown in its entirety) is now pressed against the product a so that the product a is forced against the gravity force towards the pump 7. The pump 7 then conveys the product a further, for example in the direction of an application robot (not shown).
By continuing to squeeze the product a in the liner 5, corrugations of the liner 5 are formed alongside the side walls 3, respectively. These folds of the liner 5 prevent further extrusion of the product a from a particular point, because further extrusion creates excessive resistance due to the folds. The removal process is stopped before the product a can be completely transported (or emptied, used up).
In fig. 2b, a container 1 is again shown, in which a product a is packaged, which product is being removed by means of a pump 7. However, the container 1 here additionally comprises a liner 6, which is arranged on the bottom 2 of the container 1. Since the liner 6 is centrally arranged on the bottom 2, the wrinkles of the liner 5 can now escape at least partly into the area between said liner 6 and the side wall 3. Thus, more product a can be delivered as a whole than in the case shown in fig. 2a without the liner 6.
In fig. 3a to 5b, a perspective view and a cross-sectional view, respectively, of different embodiments of the cushion 6 are shown.
In fig. 3a and 3b, a first exemplary pad 6 is shown. The gasket 6 has a substantially rectangular cross section. Furthermore, this pad 6 is constructed in multiple parts, four of which are each identical for forming one pad 6. The gasket 6 has no spacer.
A second exemplary pad 6 is shown in fig. 4a and 4 b. The gasket 6 has a substantially trapezoidal cross section. Furthermore, this pad 6 is constructed in multiple parts, four of which are each identical for forming one pad 6. This spacer 6 has four spacers 12, one spacer 12 for each part.
In fig. 5a and 5b, a third exemplary pad 6 is shown. The gasket 6 has a substantially rectangular cross section. Furthermore, this pad 6 is constructed in one piece. This spacer 6 has a spacer 12 which is configured as a circumferential ring around the spacer 6.
