Description

Method, device and equipment for terminating server pre-starting execution environment guiding process
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of server technologies, and in particular, to a method, an apparatus, and a device for terminating a pre-boot execution environment boot process of a server.
Background
PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment, pre-boot execution environment) is the latest technology developed by Intel corporation, works in the network mode of Client/Server, supports a workstation to download an image from a remote Server through a network, and thus supports an operating system to be started through the network, in the starting process, a terminal requests the Server to allocate an IP address, and then downloads a start software package to a local memory through TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol plain text transport protocol) or MTFTP (Multicast Trivial File Transfer Protocol) protocol for execution, and the start software package completes the basic software setting of the terminal (Client), thereby guiding the terminal operating system pre-installed in the Server. The operating system can be guided by PXE, the efficiency of installing the operating system based on the PXE mode is far higher than that of installing the operating system by adopting modes such as an optical drive, a 1394 interface, a USB interface and the like, and the operating system is suitable for scenes of laboratories, production lines, machine rooms, websites and the like with a large number of servers.
In the conventional technology, since a boot retry strategy is set in the basic input/output system, after the PXE boot is entered, if the PXE boot fails or the PXE boot is to be exited, the PXE boot is selected to enter from other starting items, and the PXE is always polled at this time, so that other starting items cannot be entered directly. If the user wants to select to enter from other boot startup items such as Hard Disk, CD/DVD and USB, the user can only restart the server, but the server is inconvenient to restart in some situations and the server also needs to be restarted for some time, so that the traditional technical scheme has low efficiency when the PXE boot process is terminated.

Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present application more apparent, the present application will be further described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings and examples. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are for purposes of illustration only and are not intended to limit the present application.
In one embodiment, as shown in fig. 1, a method for terminating a PXE boot start of a server is provided, where the method is applied to a basic input output system of the server, and specifically may include the following steps:
s11, detecting the pressing state of the first designated key in the guiding process of the pre-starting execution environment of the server.
In this application, the pre-boot execution environment is PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment), which is the latest technology developed by Intel corporation, works in the network mode of Client/Server, supports the workstation to download images from the remote Server through the network, and thus supports the operation system to be started through the network, in the starting process, the terminal requires the Server to allocate an IP address, and then downloads a starting software package to the local memory through TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol plain text transport protocol) or MTFTP (Multicast Trivial File Transfer Protocol) protocol for execution, and the starting software package completes the basic software setting of the terminal (Client), thereby guiding the terminal operation system pre-installed in the Server.
The bios may be BIOS (Basic Input and Output System), which is a set of programs solidified on a ROM (Read-Only Memory) chip on a motherboard in a computer, and stores the most important bios programs, the post-boot self-test programs and the system self-start programs of the computer, and it can Read and write specific information set by the system from CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor ). Its main function is to provide the lowest, most direct hardware setup and control for the computer.
The first designated key is a preset key for triggering the boot process of terminating the pre-boot execution environment. For example, the first designated key herein may be an ESC key. The above-described pressed state refers to a state in which the first designated key is pressed or not pressed.
And S12, when the first designated key is detected to be pressed, resetting the preset value of the guide item data and the value of the mark entering the setting interface.
In the present application, the above-mentioned guidance item data refers to a preset variable. The boot item data here may be gpootflow, for example. The above-described flag entering the setting interface is also a preset variable. For example, the flag entering the setup interface here may be gEnterSetup. The setting interface herein refers to a setting interface of the BIOS.
In this application, the value of gpootflow is set to another value related to PXE before reset. Upon reset, the value needs to be modified to a value associated with exiting the PXE boot. The value of the above-described flag entering the setting interface may be valid or invalid.
And S13, stopping and exiting the booting process of the pre-boot execution environment according to the value of the boot item data and the value of the flag entering the setting interface.
In the application, by resetting the value of the boot item data and the value of the flag entering the setting interface, a corresponding function is called according to the reset value so as to trigger the boot process of terminating and exiting the pre-boot execution environment.
In the conventional technology, since the boot retry strategy is set in the BIOS, after the PXE boot is entered, if the PXE boot fails or the PXE boot is to be exited, the PXE boot is selected to enter from other boot items, and the PXE is always polled at this time, so that other boot items cannot be entered directly. If it is desired to select to access from other boot-up items such as Hard Disk, CD/DVD and USB, the server can only be restarted, but in some situations, it is inconvenient to restart the server, and it takes some time to restart the server, so the conventional technology cannot terminate the PXE boot process efficiently.
In one embodiment, the detecting the pressing state of the first designated key includes:
and calling a detection key function, and detecting the pressing state of the first designated key according to the detection key function.
In the application, a CheckEvent (detection) event is triggered in the whole process after the PXE boot is entered, a CheckForKey function (detection key function) is called in the BIOS code, and the pressing condition of the key is detected in real time.
Specifically, after the start of the PXE boot, the server, as a client, sends a Request message to the DHCP server to obtain IP and other configuration information, the DHCP server sends a Reply message to the server as a response, where the Reply message includes the allocated IP, the boot file location, the TFTP server address, and the like, and then the server sends a Request to the TFTP server to obtain a boot file, and performs the PXE boot according to the boot file. In acquiring IP, acquisition is performed using DHCPv6 (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv 6). DHCPv6 is a protocol running between a client and a server for assigning configuration of IPv6 addresses, prefixes, DNS, etc., and all protocol messages are UDP-based, as is DHCP in IPv 4. However, since there is no broadcast message in IPv6, DHCPv6 uses multicast (by default all DHCPv6 servers will join and listen to the multicast group) messages, and the client does not need to configure the IPv6 address of the server.
In the whole process after the PXE boot is entered, the BIOS always detects the key condition. If the first designated key is detected to be pressed, the trigger event is terminated and the PXE boot process is exited.
In one embodiment, resetting the preset value of the guide data and the value of the flag entering the setting interface may include:
resetting the value of the guide item data to a state of entering the setting interface, and setting the value of a mark entering the setting interface to be valid;
according to the value of the boot item data and the value of a flag entering a setting interface, stopping and exiting the boot process of the pre-boot execution environment, wherein the method comprises the following steps:
and calling a callback function entering the setting interface according to the guide item data and the value after the mark entering the setting interface is reset, triggering the termination and exiting the guide process of the pre-starting execution environment.
Resetting the value of the guidance item data to the state of entering the setting interface as described above means setting the value of gpootflow to the setup state.
The value of gpootflow may be set to boot_flow_connection_setup. The above-mentioned setting of the value of the flag entering the setting interface to be valid may be setting the value of the flag entering the setting interface to true. Specifically, gEnterSetup may be set to true. And then calling a callback function which is guided into the Setup according to the values of gBootFlow and gEnterSetup, triggering the event to terminate and exit the PXE guiding process, and then entering a BIOS Setup interface (namely the setting interface). After the PXE boot is exited and the BIOS Setup interface is entered, the boot may be selectively started from an OS (Operating System) System boot item or other boot items such as a CD/DVD or virtual mirror or a usb disk, depending on the actual situation.
Further, the method may further include:
after exiting from the pre-boot execution environment, the above-mentioned boot item data and the flag entering the setting interface are reset to default setting values, and the boot startup item is set to corresponding values according to the actual selection when the boot startup item is selected next time.
The method and the device can realize the boot process of stopping and exiting the pre-boot execution environment by resetting the values of the gBootFlow and gEnterSetup and calling according to the reset values, and solve the problems of complex operation and inconvenience caused by the fact that in the traditional technology, if the PXE boot is to be stopped, other boot items are selected to boot into or execute other operations, only the server can be restarted, and then the boot items are reselected. Therefore, the method and the device can directly exit the PXE under the condition that the server is not restarted, select to enter from other starting items or execute other operations, and improve the operation efficiency of the guide process of the PXE of the server.
In one embodiment, referring to fig. 2, the method may further include:
s21, when the fact that the second designated key is pressed is detected, the next guide starting item in a preset bootable device list is obtained to serve as a current guide starting item, and all guide starting items in the bootable device list are ordered according to preset priorities;
s22, exiting the boot process of the pre-boot execution environment, and entering a current boot startup item;
s23, when the guidance entering from the current guidance starting item fails, acquiring the next guidance starting item in a preset bootable device list as the current guidance starting item;
returning to exit the boot process of the pre-boot execution environment and entering the current boot startup item;
s24, when the next boot startup item does not exist in the bootable device list, stopping and exiting the boot process of the pre-boot execution environment;
s25, entering a setting interface, receiving an instruction of selecting a target starting item by a user through the setting interface, and entering the target starting item according to the instruction of selecting the target starting item by the user.
In this application, the second specified key may be a preset key. The setting can be specifically performed according to actual requirements, for example, the setting can be set as an F11 key.
The list of bootable devices includes a plurality of boot startup items. And sequencing the guide starting items according to the preset priority. The boot startup items here may include PXE, hard Disk, CD/DVD, USB, etc.
Specifically, after triggering a CheckEvent event, detecting that an F11 key is pressed, detecting whether other boot startup items such as Hard Disk, CD/DVD and USB exist in the list of the bootable devices, if so, calling a corresponding callback function, selecting a first boot item except for PXE according to the sequence of the current startup items, and exiting PXE boot. For example, the current ordering is PXE- > Hard Disk- > CD/DVD- > USB, when F11 is pressed, and the fact that there are Hard Disk startup items currently is detected, the PXE boot is exited, and then the Hard Disk startup items are automatically booted in. If the booting from the Hard Disk fails, the next boot startup is forwarded, mainly looking at the ordering condition of startup equipment.
If no other boot startup items are found in the list of bootable devices in the last detection process, the PXE boot is terminated and exited and then the BIOS Setup interface is entered.
The method and the device have the advantages that the first designated key and the second designated key are set, the first designated key can control the termination of the PXE boot process, the second designated key can control the termination of the PXE boot process, and the next boot start item is entered. When the PXE always polls due to the boot failure and other starting items cannot be directly accessed, the PXE boot process can be effectively terminated and exited through the setting of the two designated keys. Compared with the scheme requiring restarting the server in the prior art, the method improves the operation efficiency and convenience of stopping and exiting the PXE boot process.
In one embodiment, the bios and the baseboard management controller are connected through a system management bus, and the method may further include:
in the power-on or restarting process, an intelligent platform management interface command is sent to a baseboard management controller so as to acquire setting information for setting PXE as a first starting item from the baseboard management controller;
PXE is set as a first start item according to the setting information.
In this application, the above-mentioned intelligent platform management interface command refers to Ipmi (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) command. The baseboard management controller is BMC (Board Management Controller).
The interaction between the BIOS and the BMC is mainly performed through a system management bus SMBus (System Management Bus), and the SMBus is a communication interface that can transmit information between devices on the motherboard.
Specifically, the BMC receives an ipmi command sent by the user to set PXE as the first start item, and then in the process of performing power cycle (power-off restart), the BIOS sends the ipmi command to the BMC, so as to obtain, from the BMC, setting information for setting PXE as the first start item.
In the application, when there are multiple types of start items, the PXE needs to be set as a first boot start item, and the first boot start item of the BIOS may be set as a PXE boot through an Ipmi command. If only the PXE boot entry is present, no further settings are needed since the default first boot entry is PXE.
After the server is powered on and started, the PXE is set as a first guide starting item in the last step, so that PXE guide can be automatically entered after the POST is finished.
According to the method and the device, the PXE boot can be automatically entered after the server is started.
In one embodiment, the first specified key is a physical key disposed on a target keyboard, the target keyboard is connected to the server, or the first specified key is a virtual key disposed on the baseboard management controller, and the baseboard management controller detects the pressed state of the first specified key.
In this application, the above-mentioned target keyboard may be connected to the server through a USB (Universal Serial Bus ) interface, the BIOS supports USB, and after USB is connected, the BIOS can detect the input condition of the external keyboard.
The keys of the application are virtual keys which can be pressed by the BMC KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse), the first designated key and the second designated key of the application can be shortcut key combinations, and the specific shortcut key combinations can be set by themselves.
In one embodiment, the method may further include:
after exiting the boot process of the pre-boot execution environment, receiving an instruction for the user to reselect the pre-boot execution environment through the setting interface, and reentering the boot process of the pre-boot execution environment according to the instruction for the user to reselect the pre-boot execution environment.
In the application, if the PXE is to be continued from the PXE after the PXE is exited, the PXE guide start item can be manually selected on the Setup interface, and then the PXE guide is performed again; if the user still wants to exit after the PXE booting is performed again, the steps can be repeated.
Referring to fig. 3, fig. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method for a termination server to pre-start an execution environment booting process according to an embodiment. In fig. 3, the flow of the method for pre-starting the execution environment booting process by the termination server may include:
setting PXE as a first guide item, powering on a server, automatically entering PXE guide, detecting key conditions by BIOS, stopping and exiting the PXE guide when detecting that a first designated key is pressed, entering a BIOS setting interface, detecting whether other guide starting items exist in a list of the bootable equipment when detecting that a second designated key is pressed, entering the next guide starting item if the other guide starting items exist, stopping and exiting the PXE guide when the second designated key is not pressed, and entering the BIOS setting interface.
