Fig. 1 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating an update configuration receiving method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The update configuration receiving method shown in the embodiment may be executed by a terminal, where the terminal includes, but is not limited to, a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a wearable device, a sensor, an internet of things device, and other communication devices. The terminal may communicate with network devices including, but not limited to, network devices in 4G, 5G, 6G, etc., communication systems, e.g., base stations, core networks, etc.
As shown in fig. 1, the update configuration receiving method may include the steps of:
in step S101, receiving a configuration of an update operation transmitted by a network device; the configuration of the update operation is used for indicating the terminal to update the configuration of the inactive multicast MBS (Multicast Broadcast Service, which may also be called multicast service) service according to the configuration of the update operation.
In one embodiment, the network device may send configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal, for example, time domain resources, frequency domain resources, etc. of the multicast service (e.g., receiving downlink data of the multicast service) in the inactive state.
In one embodiment, the network device may update the configuration of the inactive multicast service, for example, for an update operation of the inactive multicast service, the configuration of the update operation may be sent to the terminal, where the configuration of the update operation is used to instruct the terminal to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the configuration of the update operation.
According to the embodiment of the disclosure, the terminal can receive the configuration of the update operation, and further after receiving the configuration of the update operation, the configuration of the inactive multicast service can be updated according to the configuration of the update operation, so that the configuration of the inactive multicast service is guaranteed to be updated in time, and the terminal can perform the inactive multicast service well according to the updated configuration of the inactive multicast service.
After the terminal completes the configuration of the inactive multicast service to update, the terminal can perform the inactive multicast service according to the updated configuration of the inactive multicast service, and before the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated, the terminal can continue to use the configuration of the inactive multicast service before the update to perform the inactive multicast service.
The following describes, by way of several embodiments, a procedure for a terminal to subsequently update the configuration of an inactive multicast service.
Fig. 2 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating another update configuration reception method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 2, the method further includes:
in step S201, a radio resource control RRC (Radio Resource Control) connection is established according to the configuration of the update operation;
in step S202, a configuration of an inactive multicast service sent by the network device is received.
In one embodiment, when the terminal determines that the configuration of the inactive multicast service needs to be updated according to the configuration of the update operation, the update operation may include establishing an RRC connection with the network device, further receiving the configuration of the inactive multicast service sent by the network device, and updating the stored configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the received configuration of the inactive multicast service.
In one embodiment, the manner in which the terminal establishes an RRC connection with the network device includes, but is not limited to, the following two:
the terminal sends an RRC connection setup request (RRCSetup request) to the network device to establish an RRC connection with the network device; the terminal transmits an RRC connection resume request (rrcresemerequest) to the network device to resume an RRC connection with the network device.
For requests sent by the terminal, the network device may return a response to the terminal. For example, the network device receives the RRC connection establishment request, and may return an RRC connection establishment message response to the terminal; for example, when the network device receives the RRC connection recovery request, an RRC connection recovery message response may be returned to the terminal, an RRC connection establishment message response may be returned to the terminal, an RRC connection release message response may be returned to the terminal, and an RRC connection release message response carrying the suspension configuration (suspend configuration) may be returned to the terminal.
In one embodiment, the terminal may receive the configuration of the inactive multicast service sent by the network device after establishing the RRC connection with the network device, for example, after entering the connection state, the network device may send the configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal, so as to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service stored by the terminal.
In one embodiment, the terminal may also receive the configuration of the inactive multicast service sent by the network device during the process of establishing the RRC connection with the network device, for example, the terminal may send any one of the above requests to the network device, and the network device may send the configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal in any one of the request responses, so as to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service stored by the terminal.
In one embodiment, the terminal may carry the cause (cause) of establishing the RRC connection in the transmitted request. The cause may include an RCC connection establishment cause establishnthhouse carried in the RRC connection establishment request, and may also include an RRC connection restoration cause resumecase carried in the RRC connection restoration request.
The reasons may be multiplexing existing reasons, such as high priority Access, called Access mt-Access, or newly defined reasons, such as configuration update of multicast service.
After the network device receives the request, it can determine that the configuration of the inactive multicast service needs to be updated according to the reason carried in the request, and further carry the configuration of the inactive multicast service in the information returned to the terminal, so as to update the stored configuration of the inactive multicast service of the terminal.
In one embodiment, the establishing a radio resource control connection according to the configuration of the update operation includes: establishing a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection through an Access Stratum (AS) according to the configuration of the updating operation; or establishing a radio resource control, RRC, connection through the non-access stratum (NAS, non Access Stratum) according to the configuration of the update operation.
In one embodiment, the establishing a radio resource control connection according to the configuration of the update operation includes: and the access layer sends indication information to the non-access layer, and the indication information is used for indicating the configuration update of the non-active multicast service.
The terminal performs RRC connection establishment, which may be performed by an access stratum or a non-access stratum.
In the case of establishing the RRC connection through the access layer, the access layer may directly establish the RRC connection, or may first determine whether the configuration of the inactive multicast service is stored in the terminal, and if the configuration of the update operation of the inactive multicast service is stored, then establish the RRC connection through the access layer.
In the case of establishing RRC connection through the non-access stratum, the access stratum may first send indication information to the non-access stratum, where the indication information is used to indicate configuration update of the non-active multicast service, for example, the access stratum may directly send the indication information to the non-access stratum, or may first determine whether configuration of update operation of the non-active multicast service is stored in the terminal, and if configuration of update operation of the non-active multicast service is stored, send the indication information to the non-access stratum through the access stratum.
Therefore, the non-access layer determines that the configuration of the non-active multicast service needs to be updated, and the non-access layer establishes the Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection. Wherein the indication information includes, but is not limited to, an identification of the inactive multicast service, such as TMGI (Temporary Mobile Group Identity, temporary mobile group identification).
In one embodiment, the configuration of (the type of) the inactive multicast service comprises at least one of:
the network device may determine one or more areas and set the configuration of the associated inactive multicast service, i.e. the configuration of the area-specific inactive multicast service, for the determined areas. The configuration of the area-specific inactive multicast service may be the configuration of inactive multicast service of all terminals in the area determined by the network device, where the specific area may be one or more cells (cells) or one or more radio access network notification areas (RNA, radio Access Network Notification Area);
the network device may determine one or more terminals and set the configuration of the associated inactive multicast service for the determined terminals, i.e. the configuration of the inactive multicast service specific to the one or more terminals. The configuration of the inactive multicast service specific to one or more terminals may be the configuration of the inactive multicast service of one terminal determined by the network device, or the configuration of the inactive multicast service of all terminals in a plurality of terminals (for example, terminal groups) determined by the network device;
The network device may determine one or more inactive multicast services (e.g., an inactive multicast voice service, an inactive multicast call service, an inactive multicast video service, etc.) and set the associated inactive multicast service configuration, i.e., the service-specific inactive multicast service configuration, for the determined service. The configuration of the service-specific inactive multicast service may be a configuration of one or more inactive multicast services determined by the network device.
In one embodiment, the method further comprises: and updating the configuration of the non-active multicast service according to the configuration of the updating operation.
In one embodiment, the configuration of the update operation includes at least one of:
an update period of the configuration of the inactive multicast service;
an update indication of the configuration of the inactive multicast service;
and the effective duration of the configuration of the inactive multicast service.
Fig. 3 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating yet another update configuration receiving method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 3, the updating the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the configuration of the updating operation includes:
In step S301, the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated according to the update period, where the configuration of the update operation includes the update period.
In one embodiment, the configuration of the update operation sent by the network device to the terminal may include an update period of the configuration of the inactive multicast service, e.g., the network device may send the update period to the terminal in a radio access control release (RRCRelease) message.
After receiving the update period, the terminal can update the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the update period. The time and/or period of periodicity may be determined, for example, from the update period.
The terminal may update the configuration of the inactive multicast service at each time and/or time period, or may determine one or more time and/or time periods at periodic time and/or time periods, and update the configuration of the inactive multicast service at the determined time and/or time periods. For example, the time is determined, then the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated at the determined time; for example, a time period is determined, the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated within the determined time period.
Fig. 4 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating yet another update configuration receiving method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 4, the updating the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the configuration of the updating operation includes:
in step S401, the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated when the update indication is received or after the update indication is received, where the configuration of the update operation includes the update indication.
In one embodiment, the configuration of the update operation sent by the network device to the terminal may include an update indication of the configuration of the inactive multicast service, e.g., the network device may send a paging message (paging) to the terminal as the update indication to indicate to the terminal that the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated. The terminal may update the configuration of the inactive multicast service upon receiving the paging message or after receiving the update indication.
Fig. 5 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating yet another update configuration receiving method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 5, the updating the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the configuration of the updating operation includes:
In step S501, the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated after the effective duration, where the configuration of the update operation includes the effective duration.
In one embodiment, the configuration of the update operation sent by the network device to the terminal may include a valid duration of the configuration of the inactive multicast service, for example, the network device may send the valid duration to the terminal in a radio access control release (RRCRelease) message.
After receiving the configuration of the inactive multicast service (may be the initial configuration of the inactive multicast service or the configuration of the inactive multicast service used for updating) sent by the network device for a certain time, the terminal may determine an effective duration corresponding to the configuration of the inactive multicast service, for example, a start time of the effective duration is a time of receiving the configuration of the inactive multicast service, and further update the configuration of the inactive multicast service after the effective duration, for example, an end time of the effective duration or any time after the end time.
Fig. 6 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating yet another update configuration receiving method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 6, the updating the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the configuration of the updating operation includes:
In step S601, the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated in the update period based on the update indication, where the configuration of the update operation includes the update indication and the update period.
In one embodiment, the configuration of the update operation sent by the network device to the terminal may include an update period and an update indication of the configuration of the inactive multicast service, for example, the network device may send the update period to the terminal in a radio access control release (RRCRelease) message, and may also indicate the update of the configuration of the inactive multicast service by a paging message (paging).
After receiving the update period, the terminal may update the configuration of the inactive multicast service based on the update indication in the update period, for example, a periodic time and/or a period of time may be determined according to the update period.
Since the periodic time domain resource includes a plurality of time instants and/or time periods, the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated at each of the plurality of time instants and/or time periods, and more power consumption is required.
In this embodiment, it may be accurately determined that the network device needs to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the update indication, so that the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated at the time and/or the time period after receiving the update indication, that is, the time and/or the time period after receiving the update indication is determined in the periodic time domain resource, for example, the time and/or the time period from the latest time when the update indication is received after receiving the update indication to the time when the update indication is received, and then the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated at the determined time and/or the determined time period. Accordingly, the configuration of the inactive multicast service can be updated only when the network device is accurately determined to need to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service, and the configuration of the inactive multicast service does not need to be updated at each of a plurality of moments and/or time periods, thereby being beneficial to saving power consumption.
It should be noted that, while the above embodiments describe updating the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the combination of the update period and the update indication, the present disclosure updates the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the combination of the information, and is not limited to updating the configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the update period and the update indication, and the following description is given by way of several examples, but not limited to the following examples.
For example, the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated according to the update period and the effective duration, and specifically, the periodic time and/or time period may be determined according to the update period, and the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated at the time and/or time period after the effective duration;
for example, the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated according to the update instruction and the effective duration, and specifically, the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated when the update instruction is received after the effective duration;
for example, the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be updated according to the first time when the initial configuration of the inactive multicast service sent by the network device is received and the update period, and specifically, the first time when the initial configuration of the inactive multicast service sent by the network device is received may be determined, and then the configuration of the inactive multicast service is updated at the time and/or the time period after the first time.
Fig. 7 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating an update configuration transmission method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The update configuration sending method shown in the embodiment may be executed by a network device, where the network device may communicate with a terminal, where the network device includes, but is not limited to, a base station in a communication system such as a 4G base station, a 5G base station, and a 6G base station, and the terminal includes, but is not limited to, a communication apparatus such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a wearable device, a sensor, and an internet of things device.
As shown in fig. 7, the update configuration transmission method may include the steps of:
in step S701, a configuration of an update operation is sent to a terminal, where the configuration of the update operation is used to instruct the terminal to update a configuration of an inactive multicast service according to the configuration of the update operation.

According to the embodiment of the disclosure, the network device can send the configuration of the update operation to the terminal, and the terminal is instructed to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service by the configuration of the update operation, which is corresponding to the configuration of the update operation, so that the configuration of the inactive multicast service is guaranteed to be updated in time, and the terminal can perform the inactive multicast service well according to the updated configuration of the inactive multicast service.
Fig. 8 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating another update configuration transmission method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 8, the method further includes:
in step S801, a radio resource control RRC connection is established with the terminal;
in step S802, a configuration of an inactive multicast service is sent to the terminal.
In one embodiment, when the terminal determines that the configuration of the inactive multicast service needs to be updated according to the configuration of the update operation, the update operation may include establishing an RRC connection with the network device, and after the network device establishes the RRC connection with the terminal, the configuration of the inactive multicast service may be sent to the terminal, and the terminal may update the stored configuration of the inactive multicast service according to the received configuration of the inactive multicast service.
In one embodiment, the manner in which the network device establishes an RRC connection with the terminal includes, but is not limited to, the following two:

For requests sent by the terminal, the network device may return a response to the terminal. For example, the network device receives the RRC connection establishment request, and may return an RRC connection establishment message response to the terminal; for example, when the network device receives the RRC connection recovery request, an RRC connection recovery message response may be returned to the terminal, an RRC connection establishment message response may be returned to the terminal, an RRC connection release message response may be returned to the terminal, and an RRC connection release message response carrying the suspension configuration may be returned to the terminal.
In one embodiment, the network device may send the configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal after establishing the RRC connection with the terminal, e.g., after the terminal enters the connected state, the network device may send the configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service stored by the terminal.
In one embodiment, the network device may also send the configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal during the process of establishing the RRC connection with the terminal, for example, the terminal may send any one of the above requests to the network device, and the network device may send the configuration of the inactive multicast service to the terminal in any one of the request responses, so as to update the configuration of the inactive multicast service stored in the terminal.
In one embodiment, the configuration of (the type of) the inactive multicast service comprises at least one of:
the network device may determine one or more areas and set the configuration of the associated inactive multicast service, i.e. the configuration of the area-specific inactive multicast service, for the determined areas.
