Abstract
The present invention is a water craft capable of recovering marine floating waste oil or chemicals comprising a curved vertically rotatable gate to partially form a pointed bow, and a latch having an underwater horizontal surface with an opening to allow water and oil to move over the surface while being able to move up on an inclined surface leading to a horizontal trough in the midship above the craft line, the trough opening for oil and water under gravity to be automatically deposited in an oil water separator trough stored in the rear of the craft hull.
Description
Technical Field
The invention discloses a water navigation platform capable of recycling marine floating waste oil or chemicals, and particularly relates to a water environment-friendly salvage ship capable of collecting spilled oil or lighter liquid which is harmful to human and marine organisms.
Background
Crude oil can overflow and float on the water surface due to oil tanker accidents or offshore oil well failures leading to crude oil product leakage. In some cases the amount of oil spilled is large, covering a large amount of water surface. In addition to the effects of tides and currents, these spilled oils eventually rush to shore, which can have serious effects on marine life and on off-shore birds, while contaminating the beach for swimming and recreation. For damage caused by spilled oil, researchers in the field have studied how to remove waste oil floating on the water surface before damage is caused by spilled oil. And experiments of multiple schemes are carried out, but the most effective solving approach is not sought. In view of this problem, the inventors contemplate such a water-borne process as described herein to remove the oil on the water surface that is to be recovered and to deliver the recovered oil to the refinery, yet still be able to be processed into useful products.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention mainly aims to provide a method for removing waste oil stains on water surface.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a water craft capable of recovering oil from the water, the recovered oil still being able to be processed by the refinery into useful products.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a water craft which can be used to store and transport liquid fuel or chemicals when not in use as an oil extractor.
Drawings
Fig. 1 shows a top view of a water craft illustrating the appearance of the craft when in normal operation for storage and transportation of liquid fuels and chemicals.
Figure 2 shows a side view of the water craft and the outline of the superstructure.
Detailed Description
The following description of the embodiments of the present invention will be made clearly and completely with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which it is apparent that the embodiments described are only some embodiments of the present invention, but not all embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be made by those skilled in the art based on the embodiments of the invention without making any inventive effort, are intended to be within the scope of the invention.
Referring to fig. 1, the embodiment of the present invention is shown in fig. 1 and 2. In the front section or bow, there is a means for scooping up and collecting the oil above the water surface. Provision is made for comprising an openable gate 2 and latch 4 for determining when the gate is closed, and a modified V-shaped bow. The shutter 2 is closed or opened by a lever system 5, the lever system 5 being operated by a worm and a gear, which in turn are moved by an electric motor. The solid line of the bow in fig. 1 and 2 shows the gate 2 in a closed state. The gate 2 is hinged to structures 22 located on both sides of the vessel. In the closed condition, the gate 2 is partially supported by the upper part of the latch 4. The ends 23 abut against each other and are supported on the uprights 24. The gate 2 is also constructed with double walls to form an air space, which if surrounded by water, will generate a great force. The buoyancy must be of such a magnitude that the gate floats on the water surface in the open condition, thereby relieving the hinge of substantial loads. Located at the upper part of the gate 2 is a pin-like member 26 which connects the lever arrangement system to the gate 2. The lever 19 further connects the sluice gate 2 to the worm gear and gear arrangement 6. The motor 7 is operated to close or open the shutter 2. The latch 4 is actually the lower part of the bow. It has an inclined side 25, which inclined side 25 lifts the water vertically into the tank 8 when the ship is moving forward at a sufficient speed. A V-shaped screen 3 is also mounted on the upper surface of the latch 4 to prevent debris floating on the water surface from contaminating the inlet of the tank 8.
As shown in fig. 1, a tank 8 is mounted on the main deck, which tank is located in the centre of the ship and extends the length of the whole ship. The baffle 9 is located approximately at the rear of the middle of the trough 8. The member straddles the trough 8 with its bottom edge extending a distance below the water surface flowing in the trough 8. The baffle 9 completely blocks the oil flow on the water surface and bypasses it to the downpipe 10, the downpipe 10 delivering oil and some water to the separator tank 11. The downpipe 10 delivers the mixture of oil and water to an intermediate tank 11, which intermediate tank 11 is located on the port side of the ship in this particular case. The tank 11 is equipped with a spilled oil outlet 12 and a submerged water outlet 13. The oil flowing out of the tank 11 is deposited on the tank 16 and is subsequently pumped from the tank 16 to the different tanks of the boat. Water flowing from the submerged outlet 13 into the tank 14 overflows from the outlet 17 and flows into the tank 15. Water is pumped from water tank No. 15.
The oil-water is separated in the tank 11 according to the principle of oil-water immiscibility and specific gravity difference. The lighter-than-water oil floats on the water surface. Since the tank 11 is initially filled with approximately half of the water and the other half of the upper half of the oil, an equilibrium is reached in which the oil surface in the tank 11 is much higher than the water surface in the tank 14. The oil overflow outlet 12 is then located at this surface level of the oil, while the water overflow outlet 12 is also located at the surface level of the water tank 14, of course the surface level of the water tank 14 is lower than the surface level of the oil. A manhole 18 may be provided on each tank to facilitate access to the tank for cleaning or maintenance.
