And the first network side equipment calculates and obtains the target duration according to the network coverage information of the target network. The first network side device may determine network coverage information of the target network based on the ephemeris information or an analysis using a network data analysis function (Network Data Analytics Function, NWDAF).
And step 402, the first network side equipment operates a second timer according to the target duration, wherein the target network covers the terminal during the operation of the second timer.
The first duration of the target network to continue to cover the terminal can be understood as the duration of the target network to continue to cover the terminal in the future. The second timer is a timer running on the first network side device.
And step 403, the first network side device communicates with the terminal based on the second timer. During the operation of the second timer, the target network covers the terminal, and the terminal can receive information, such as paging messages, sent by the first network side device; and when the second timer is finished, the target network does not cover the terminal any more, and the first network side equipment does not send information to the terminal, so that resources can be saved.
In this embodiment, the first network side device determines a target duration; the first network side device operates a second timer according to the target duration, wherein the target network covers the terminal during the operation of the second timer; the first network side equipment communicates with the terminal based on the second timer. In the above, the network side device can communicate with the terminal during the operation period of the second timer, so that resource waste caused by the fact that the first network side device still transmits information under the condition that the target network does not cover the terminal can be avoided.
In one embodiment of the present application, the calculating, by the first network side device, the target duration according to the network coverage information of the target network includes:
the first network side device obtains a first duration of continuous coverage of the target network on the terminal according to the network coverage information of the target network;
the first network side device calculates and obtains the target duration according to the first duration and a preset duration, wherein the preset duration is a value preset by the first network side device for a timer or a time window of the terminal. For example, the preset duration may be a duration set by the first network side device for the terminal when the terminal sends a registration request to the first network side device. The preset time length is one of the following:
the preset time length is one of the following:
(1) The operation duration of the activation timer of the terminal can be T3324;
(2) The running time of the periodic registration timer of the terminal, wherein the periodic registration timer can be T3412;
(3) The first network side equipment pages the time window length of the terminal;

In one embodiment of the present application, the first network side device communicates with the terminal based on the second timer, including:

In the above, the terminal sends a registration request to the second network side device under a preset condition, so that the second network side device sends a first message (i.e. INITIAL UE MESSAGE) for initializing the terminal to the first network side device, and the first network side device determines a target duration according to the first message and sends the target duration to the terminal.
The preset condition comprises one of the following:
the network coverage information of the cell in which the terminal is located is changed, and the target network is the network of the changed cell;
the terminal moves from a first cell to a second cell, the target network is a network of the second cell, and the network coverage information of the first cell is different from the network coverage information of the second cell.
The first message received by the first network side device may carry network coverage information, such as ephemeris information, of the target network, and the first network side device determines the target duration according to the network coverage information.
If the first message does not carry network coverage information of the target network, the first network side device sends query information to the second network device, wherein the query information is used for querying the network coverage information of the target network; the first network side equipment receives the network coverage information sent by the second network side equipment; and the first network side equipment determines the target duration according to the network coverage information.
As shown in fig. 5, an embodiment of the present application provides a communication method, including the following steps:
in step 501, the first network side device determines a target duration.
And the first network side equipment calculates and obtains the target duration according to the network coverage information of the target network. The first network side device may determine network coverage information of the target network based on the ephemeris information or analysis using NWDAF.
Step 502, the first network side device operates a second timer according to the target duration, wherein the target network covers the terminal in a starting time period of the target duration during operation of the second timer, and the target network starts to cover the terminal or covers the terminal in an ending time period at an ending time of the target duration during operation of the second timer.
The second timer is a timer running on the first network side device. The second timer may be an existing timer on the terminal or a newly added dedicated timer, which is not limited herein. The target network intermittently covers the terminal during the second timer running, for example, the target network covers the terminal during the starting time period of the target duration, and the target network starts to cover the terminal at the ending time of the target duration or covers the terminal during the ending time period. That is, during the second timer run, the target network goes from covered to uncovered terminals, and after a target period of time the target network will again cover the terminals; alternatively, during operation of the second timer, the target network goes from the covered terminal to the uncovered terminal, and then to the covered terminal. The target network may be a satellite network.
In step 503, the first network side device communicates with the terminal based on the second timer. During the operation of the second timer, the target network covers the terminal, and the terminal can receive information, such as paging messages, sent by the first network side device; and when the second timer is finished, the target network does not cover the terminal any more, and the first network side equipment does not send information to the terminal, so that resources can be saved.
In this embodiment, the first network side device determines a target duration; the first network side device operates a second timer according to the target duration, wherein the target network covers the terminal in the starting time period of the target duration during the operation of the second timer, and the target network starts to cover the terminal in the ending time of the target duration or covers the terminal in the ending time period during the operation of the second timer; and the first network side equipment communicates with the terminal based on the second timer. In the above, the network side device can communicate with the terminal during the operation period of the second timer, so that resource waste caused by the fact that the first network side device still transmits information under the condition that the target network does not cover the terminal can be avoided.
In one embodiment of the present application, the calculating, by the first network side device, the target duration according to the network coverage information of the target network includes:
The first network side equipment obtains a first time length according to the network coverage information of the target network, and the first time length is determined according to the time length from the continuous coverage of the terminal to the non-coverage of the terminal to the re-coverage of the terminal of the target network;
the first network side device calculates and obtains the target duration according to the first duration and a preset duration, wherein the preset duration is a value preset by the first network side device for a timer of the terminal. The target time length is the smaller of the first time length and the preset time length. The preset time length is a set value of a periodic registration timer.
In the above, the first time length satisfies the following relationship:

wherein T is a first duration, T1 is a duration that the target network continues to cover the terminal, T2 is a duration that the target network does not cover the terminal, and T3 is a duration that the target network covers the terminal again.
In one implementation of the present application, the first network side device communicates with the terminal based on the second timer, including:

The first network side device may also send the obtained target duration to the terminal, where in one implementation of the present application, the determining the target duration by the first network side device includes:

the first network side equipment determines the target duration according to the first message;

If the first message does not carry network coverage information of the target network, the first network side device sends query information to the second network device, wherein the query information is used for querying the network coverage information of the target network; the first network side equipment receives the network coverage information sent by the second network side equipment; and the first network side equipment determines the target duration according to the network coverage information.
In the paging strategy in a terrestrial network, a first paging is performed on the last tracking area TA, and the satellite network currently uses the same paging measurements as the terrestrial network, but since in a terrestrial network the network coverage is usually fixed, the coverage of the satellite network may change with satellite variations. The network side equipment does not consider whether the TA has coverage at present during paging. At paging in a satellite network, a public land mobile network (Public Land Mobile Network, PLMN) broadcast by the RAN may correspond to multiple Tracking Areas (TAs). At the time of satellite access, how to determine the last TA (last known TA) is not clear at present, and coverage of the TA is not considered, so that efficient paging in a multi-TAI scenario is not possible. In order to solve the above problems, the present application provides a communication method, as shown in fig. 6, comprising the steps of:
In step 601, the first network side device acquires location information of a terminal.
The first network side device may acquire location information of the terminal through a location reporting procedure or a location services (Location Services, LCS) procedure. The location information may or may not include a tracking area identity (Tracking Area Identity, TAI) of the geographic location of the terminal.
The first network side device may acquire location information of the terminal before releasing terminal CONTEXT (UE CONTEXT) information.
Step 602, the first network side device determines a first target TA according to the location information. For example, in the case that the location information includes a tracking area identifier TAI of the geographic location of the terminal, the first network side device determines that the tracking area identified by the TAI is the first target TA. And under the condition that the position information does not comprise the TAI of the geographic position of the terminal, the first network side equipment acquires at least one tracking area code TAC, and determines the first target TA according to the at least one TAC.
Step 603, the first network side device performs paging when the first target TA is covered by the network.
The first network side device may determine whether the first target TA is covered by the network according to coverage information of the network, for example, ephemeris information, and perform paging if the first target TA is covered by the network. The network may be a satellite network. The page includes a first page, or a non-first page.
In this embodiment, a first network side device obtains location information of a terminal; the first network side equipment determines a first target tracking area TA according to the position information; the first network side device performs paging in the case that the first target TA is covered by the network. By the mode, the first network side equipment can determine the first target TA by acquiring the position information of the terminal, and execute paging under the condition that the first target TA is covered by the network, so that the terminal can be effectively ensured to receive the paging message, and the paging success rate is improved.
In one embodiment of the present application, if the location information includes a TAI of a geographic location of the terminal, after the first network side device performs paging if the first target TA is covered by a network, the method further includes:
under the condition that the first network side equipment fails to page on the first target TA, the first network side equipment determines a second target TA according to the at least one TAC;
And the first network side equipment executes paging on the second target TA under the condition that the second target TA is covered by the network.
In the foregoing, if the first network side device fails to page on the first target TA, the first network side device determines the second target TA, and then executes paging on the second target TA if the second target TA is covered by the network. The at least one TAC includes:
at least one tracking area code TAC in a registered public land mobile network RPLMN indicated by a serving cell of the terminal; or at least one TAC of a public land mobile network PLMN equivalent to said RPLMN; wherein the at least one TAC is in a registration area RA of the terminal.
And determining the TA covered by the network in the at least one TAC as the second target TA, and executing paging on the second target TA by the second network side equipment.
In one embodiment of the present application, the determining, by the first network side device, the first target tracking area TA according to the location information includes:
under the condition that the position information does not comprise the TAI of the geographic position of the terminal, the first network side equipment acquires at least one tracking area code TAC;
The first network side device determines the first target TA according to the at least one TAC, for example, determines a TA covered by the network in the at least one TAC as the first target TA. The at least one TAC includes:
at least one tracking area code, TAC, in a registered public land mobile network (Registered Public Land Mobile Network, RPLMN) indicated by a serving cell of the terminal; or at least one TAC of a public land mobile network PLMN equivalent to said RPLMN; wherein the at least one TAC is in a registration area RA of the terminal.
The communication method provided by the present application is exemplified below.
Fig. 7a illustrates local calculation of the target time length obtained by each of the terminal and the network side device, as shown in fig. 7a, the terminal may calculate the target time length when the terminal enters an idle state, and the AMF may calculate the target time length after receiving the terminal context release complete message (UE CONTEXT RELEASE COMPLETE), where the target time length is a time length set for T3324.
Fig. 7b is a schematic diagram illustrating interaction between a terminal and a network device. In this embodiment, the coverage information of the cell in which the terminal is located changes, and the terminal moves from the first cell to the second cell, where the coverage information of the two cells is different, and the second cell is a cell covered by the target network. After determining that the coverage information of the first cell is different from that of the second cell, the terminal triggers a registration request, sends the registration request to the RAN2, and the RAN2 sends initialization terminal information to the AMF; if the initialization terminal information does not carry the coverage information of the target network, the AMF sends query information to the RAN2, wherein the query information is used for querying the coverage information of the target network, and the RAN2 feeds back the coverage information to the AMF. After obtaining the target duration, the AMF sends a registration success message to the terminal, and the registration success message carries the target duration, namely the value of T3324.
Fig. 7c is a schematic diagram illustrating interaction between a terminal and a network side device. In this embodiment, the coverage information of the cell in which the terminal is located changes, but the network information of the network of the coverage cell changes, and the changed network is the target network. After determining that the coverage information of the cells is different, the terminal triggers a registration request, sends the registration request to the RAN1, and the RAN1 sends initialization terminal information to the AMF, if the initialization terminal information carries the coverage information of the target network, the AMF determines the target duration according to the coverage information; if the initialization terminal information does not carry the coverage information of the target network, the AMF sends query information to the RAN2, wherein the query information is used for querying the coverage information of the target network, and the RAN2 feeds back the coverage information to the AMF. After obtaining the target duration, the AMF sends a registration success message to the terminal, and the registration success message carries the target duration, namely the value of T3324.
Fig. 7d is a schematic diagram illustrating interaction between a terminal and a network device. And before the AMF releases the UE CONTEXT, acquiring a TA-position report corresponding to the actual geographic position of the UE.
Before sending the terminal context release order message to RAN1, the AMF will initiate a location reporting procedure to request the last known location of the terminal. In the case of satellite access, RAN1 provides all broadcasted TAIs of the selected PLMN to the AMF as part of the user location information (User Location Information, ULI). If the RAN1 can determine the TAI of the geographical location where the UE is located, the RAN1 also informs the AMF via a location report.
After acquiring the TAI where the geographic location of the terminal is located, the AMF sends a terminal context release command message (N2 UE Context Release Command) to the RAN1, and the RAN1 triggers connection release and sends a terminal context release complete (N2 UE Context Release Complete) message to the AMF.
If the AMF knows the TAI of the terminal's geographical location, then that TAI is taken as the last known TAI. The AMF determines that the TAI is in the coverage area when PAGING according to the ephemeris information, and then Pages (PAGING) firstly in the TA identified by the TAI;
if the AMF does not know the TAI of the geographic location of the terminal, the TAI satisfying the following conditions is taken as the latest known TAI:
one or more TACs of the RPLMN indicated by the serving cell of the UE, or one or more TACs of the PLMN equivalent to the RPLMN, which are in the registration area (Registration Area, RA) of the UE. The AMF determines from the ephemeris information that the TACs are in the coverage area of the network when paging, and pages first among the TAs that the TACs include.
Fig. 7e is a schematic diagram illustrating interaction between a terminal and a network device. The AMF initiates an LCS procedure to request the location of the terminal before sending a terminal context release order message to the RAN 1. Through the LCS procedure, the AMF obtains the TA of the geographic location of the UE, and other procedures may be described with reference to fig. 7d, which is not described herein.
Fig. 8 shows a communication device according to an embodiment of the present application, wherein a first communication device 800 includes:

The device in the embodiment of the application can be an electronic device, for example, an electronic device with an operating system, or can be a component in the electronic device, for example, an integrated circuit or a chip. The electronic device may be a terminal, or may be other devices than a terminal. By way of example, terminals may include, but are not limited to, the types of terminals 11 listed above, other devices may be servers, network attached storage (Network Attached Storage, NAS), etc., and embodiments of the application are not specifically limited.
Optionally, as shown in fig. 13, the embodiment of the present application further provides a communication device 1300, including a processor 1301 and a memory 1302, where the memory 1302 stores a program or instructions that can be executed on the processor 1301, for example, when the communication device 1300 is a terminal, the program or instructions implement the steps of the method embodiment of fig. 2 or fig. 3 when executed by the processor 1301, and achieve the same technical effects. When the communication device 1300 is a network-side device, the program or the instruction, when executed by the processor 1301, implements the steps of the method embodiments shown in fig. 4, fig. 5, or fig. 6, and the same technical effects can be achieved, so that repetition is avoided, and no further description is given here.
The embodiment of the application also provides a terminal, which comprises a processor and a communication interface, wherein the processor is used for acquiring the target duration; and running a first timer according to the target duration, wherein the target network covers the terminal during the running of the first timer; the communication interface is used for communicating with first network side equipment based on the first timer. The terminal embodiment corresponds to the terminal-side method embodiment shown in fig. 2, and each implementation process and implementation manner of the method embodiment are applicable to the terminal embodiment, and the same technical effects can be achieved.
The embodiment of the application also provides a terminal, which comprises a processor and a communication interface, wherein the processor is used for acquiring the target duration; a first timer is operated according to the target duration, wherein a target network covers the terminal in the initial time period of the target duration during the operation of the first timer, and the target network starts to cover the terminal at the ending time of the target duration or covers the terminal in the ending time period; the communication interface is used for communicating with first network side equipment based on the first timer. The terminal embodiment corresponds to the terminal-side method embodiment shown in fig. 3, and each implementation process and implementation manner of the method embodiment are applicable to the terminal embodiment, and the same technical effects can be achieved.
Specifically, fig. 14 is a schematic diagram of a hardware structure of a terminal for implementing an embodiment of the present application.
The terminal 1400 includes, but is not limited to: at least part of the components of the radio frequency unit 1401, the network module 1402, the audio output unit 1403, the input unit 1404, the sensor 1405, the display unit 1406, the user input unit 1407, the interface unit 1408, the memory 1409, the processor 1410, and the like.
Those skilled in the art will appreciate that terminal 1400 may also include a power source (e.g., a battery) for powering the various components, which may be logically connected to processor 1410 by a power management system so as to perform functions such as managing charging, discharging, and power consumption by the power management system. The terminal structure shown in fig. 14 does not constitute a limitation of the terminal, and the terminal may include more or less components than shown, or may combine certain components, or may be arranged in different components, which will not be described in detail herein.
It should be appreciated that in embodiments of the present application, the input unit 1404 may include a graphics processing unit (Graphics Processing Unit, GPU) 14041 and a microphone 14042, with the graphics processor 14041 processing image data of still pictures or video obtained by an image capturing device (e.g., a camera) in a video capturing mode or an image capturing mode. The display unit 1406 may include a display panel 14061, and the display panel 14061 may be configured in the form of a liquid crystal display, an organic light emitting diode, or the like. The user input unit 1407 includes at least one of a touch panel 14071 and other input devices 14072. The touch panel 14071 is also referred to as a touch screen. The touch panel 14071 may include two parts, a touch detection device and a touch controller. Other input devices 14072 may include, but are not limited to, a physical keyboard, function keys (e.g., volume control keys, switch keys, etc.), a trackball, a mouse, a joystick, and so forth, which are not described in detail herein.
In the embodiment of the present application, after receiving downlink data from a network side device, the radio frequency unit 1401 may transmit the downlink data to the processor 1414 for processing; in addition, the radio frequency unit 1401 may send uplink data to the network-side device. In general, the radio frequency unit 1401 includes, but is not limited to, an antenna, an amplifier, a transceiver, a coupler, a low noise amplifier, a duplexer, and the like.
Memory 1409 may be used to store software programs or instructions and various data. The memory 1409 may mainly include a first memory area storing programs or instructions and a second memory area storing data, wherein the first memory area may store an operating system, application programs or instructions (such as a sound playing function, an image playing function, etc.) required for at least one function, and the like. Further, the memory 1409 may include volatile memory or nonvolatile memory, or the memory 1409 may include both volatile and nonvolatile memory. The nonvolatile Memory may be a Read-Only Memory (ROM), a Programmable ROM (PROM), an Erasable PROM (EPROM), an Electrically Erasable EPROM (EEPROM), or a flash Memory. The volatile memory may be random access memory (Random Access Memory, RAM), static RAM (SRAM), dynamic RAM (DRAM), synchronous DRAM (SDRAM), double Data Rate SDRAM (ddr SDRAM), enhanced SDRAM (Enhanced SDRAM), synchronous DRAM (SLDRAM), and Direct RAM (DRRAM). Memory 1409 in embodiments of the application includes, but is not limited to, these and any other suitable types of memory.
Processor 1410 may include one or more processing units; optionally, the processor 1410 integrates an application processor that primarily processes operations involving an operating system, user interface, application programs, etc., and a modem processor that primarily processes wireless communication signals, such as a baseband processor. It will be appreciated that the modem processor described above may not be integrated into the processor 1410.
Wherein, the processor 1410 is configured to obtain a target duration; operating a first timer according to a target duration, wherein a target network covers the terminal during the operation of the first timer;

The embodiment of the application also provides network side equipment which comprises a processor and a communication interface, wherein the processor is used for acquiring the position information of the terminal; determining a first target tracking area TA according to the position information; the communication interface is for performing paging if the first target TA is covered by the network. The terminal embodiment corresponds to the first network side device method embodiment shown in fig. 6, and each implementation process and implementation manner of the method embodiment are applicable to the network side device embodiment, and the same technical effects can be achieved.
Specifically, the embodiment of the application also provides network side equipment. As shown in fig. 15, the network side device 1500 includes: an antenna 151, radio frequency means 152, baseband means 153, a processor 154 and a memory 155. The antenna 151 is connected to a radio frequency device 152. In the uplink direction, the radio frequency device 152 receives information via the antenna 151, and transmits the received information to the baseband device 153 for processing. In the downlink direction, the baseband device 153 processes information to be transmitted, and transmits the processed information to the radio frequency device 152, and the radio frequency device 152 processes the received information and transmits the processed information through the antenna 151.
The method performed by the network side device in the above embodiment may be implemented in the baseband apparatus 153, where the baseband apparatus 153 includes a baseband processor.
The baseband apparatus 153 may, for example, include at least one baseband board, where a plurality of chips are disposed, as shown in fig. 15, where one chip, for example, a baseband processor, is connected to the memory 155 through a bus interface to call a program in the memory 155 to perform the network device operation shown in the above method embodiment.
The network-side device may also include a network interface 156, such as a common public radio interface (common public radio interface, CPRI).
Specifically, the network side device 1500 of the embodiment of the present application further includes: instructions or programs stored in the memory 155 and executable on the processor 154, the processor 154 invokes the instructions or programs in the memory 155 to perform the methods performed by the modules shown in fig. 10, 11 or 12, and achieve the same technical effects, and are not repeated here.
The embodiment of the present application further provides a readable storage medium, where a program or an instruction is stored, where the program or the instruction implements each process of the method embodiments shown in the foregoing fig. 2, fig. 3, fig. 4, fig. 5, or fig. 6 when executed by a processor, and the process can achieve the same technical effect, so that repetition is avoided and no further description is given here.

the terminal calculates and obtains the target duration according to the network coverage information of the target network;

3. The method according to claim 2, wherein the terminal calculates the target duration according to network coverage information of the target network, including:
the terminal obtains a first duration of the target network continuing to cover the terminal according to the network coverage information of the target network;
the terminal calculates and obtains the target duration according to the first duration and a preset duration, wherein the preset duration is a value preset by the first network side device for a timer or a time window of the terminal.

the operation time of the activation timer of the terminal;

the first network side equipment pages the time window length of the terminal;
the first network side equipment pages the cycle length of the terminal.
5. A method according to claim 3, wherein the target time period is the smaller of the first time period and the preset time period.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein the terminal communicates with the first network side device based on the first timer, comprising:
