发明领域
本发明涉及一种喷墨油墨。其开发主要是为了最小化热喷墨打印头中的结垢,尤其是在新的打印头的初始预烧期期间导致降低的图像强度的结垢。
发明背景
本发明的申请人已经开发了相当多的使用固定的打印头的高速喷墨打印机,所述打印头延伸跨越介质宽度。相比之下,大多数其他类型的喷墨打印机利用横越所述介质宽度的扫描打印头。
与传统类型的喷墨打印头相比,高速页宽打印必然对于打印头的设计有另外的需求。喷嘴装置必须具有自冷却设计、高油墨再填充速率和高热效率。为此目的,本申请人已经开发了一系列热气泡形成式打印头,包括具有悬挂式电阻加热器元件的那些(如描述于例如US 6,755,509;US 7,246,886;US 7,401,910;和US 7,658,977中,这些专利的内容通过引用并入本文)以及具有嵌入式(“结合式”)电阻加热器元件的那些(如描述于例如US 7,377,623;US 7,431,431;US 9,950,527;US 9,283,756和US 9,994,017中,这些专利的内容通过引用并入本文)。
喷墨油墨需要平衡各种特性以控制多种不同的性能特征,如打印头寿命、喷嘴脱水、喷嘴再填充速率、干燥时间、打印质量和打印耐久性。在过去30年左右的时间里,油墨配制品化学家已经开发出用于调节油墨性能的配制品“工具(lever)”库。例如,颜料分散体、共溶剂、表面活性剂和其他油墨添加剂的变化可用于控制油墨性能。然而,通常情况是,试图通过改变油墨配制品来改善一种性能特征对另一种性能特征具有有害影响。因此,油墨配制品的目的是提供一种在给定的使用情况下具有可接受的特性平衡的油墨。
热喷墨喷嘴装置尤其对油墨特性要求很高。产生非常高的温度和压力的MEMS喷嘴腔室内的恶劣环境对油墨提出了更高的要求。对于含有聚合物分散剂的颜料基油墨来说,油墨与电阻加热器元件之间的相互作用典型地导致结垢-描述颜料和/或聚合物颗粒在加热器元件上的沉积的术语。结垢程度,以及随之发生的打印质量的变化,受到油墨配制品和加热器元件的表面特征两者的影响。结垢典型地导致被传送到油墨的能量减少,导致液滴喷射速度降低(有时在本领域中称为‘减速’)和/或液滴体积更小,这典型地表现为在打印图像中较低的图像强度(如通过L*值所测量)。
结垢可能是永久的-在打印头的寿命内逐渐地集聚;短暂的-在打印期间暂时地沉积在加热器元件上,并且然后在打印作业之间重置;或半永久的-在打印头的初始‘预烧’期内沉积和重新分散,直至打印头中的所有喷墨喷嘴都具有相对稳定的液滴喷射特征。典型地,所有三种类型的结垢相互作用并且在某种程度上影响对于任何给定打印作业的打印头的性能。
如本文所用,术语‘重影’或‘重影伪影’用于描述在打印头的初始预烧期内(典型地1至5000万次喷射)展现出较低的L*值的类型的半永久的结垢。打印图像中所谓的重影伪影的程度取决于新的打印头中的喷嘴使用。如果在初始期期间(例如当打印实心竖直杆时)仅使用一组喷嘴,则那组喷嘴将倾向于比未使用的喷嘴具有相对更多的结垢。相应地,当随后使用打印头的所有喷嘴打印连续色调图像时,与初始未使用的喷嘴相比,初始使用的具有相对更多的结垢那组喷嘴将在打印连续色调图像中展现出较低的L*值(借助于较低的液滴体积)。这表现为‘重影’伪影,由此初始使用的喷嘴的‘重影’在打印连续色调图像中以较低的L*值(即较低的图像强度)的形式可见。奇怪的是,这一趋势随着时间推移而逆转,由此初始使用的喷嘴组恢复到一定程度(推测通过半永久的结垢中的至少一些的重新分散),并且初始未使用的喷嘴经历其预烧期。数百万次喷射(例如1至5000万次喷射)后,打印头中的所有喷嘴通常达到稳定状态,从而具有相对一致的液滴体积和L*值。然后,打印头中的所有喷嘴将典型地在其数十亿液滴喷射的寿命内持续执行。
如上所述的,除了油墨特征以外,结垢也可能受到加热器元件的表面特征的影响。例如,加热器表面上的微观表面污染物可以作为结垢沉积的种子。2020年6月1日提交的美国申请号16/889,734(其内容通过引用并入本文)描述了一种晶圆处理工艺,该工艺最小化了微观无机污染物对MEMS结构的污染。
尽管晶圆处理工艺的改善可以有助于减轻所谓的‘重影’伪影,但是仍然需要通过改善油墨配制品来最小化此类伪影。
热喷墨打印头中的最小化结垢的现有技术方法通常集中于磷酸盐和相关盐的使用,据信其有助于排斥加热器表面上的结垢物种。例如,US8,770,736、US 6,592,657和US6,533,851(转让给惠普公司(Hewlett-Packard Company))描述了磷酸酯表面活性剂、膦酸和膦酸酯盐用于减少结垢的用途。类似地,US 6,902,264(转让给佳能株式会社(CanonKabushiki Kaisha))描述了多磷酸用于减少结垢的用途。然而,磷酸盐型添加剂在使聚合物分散体不稳定方面是不利的。分散体的不稳定化典型地导致颜料的絮凝和长期储存问题。
US 5,169,437(转让给惠普公司)描述了乙氧基化的甘油保湿剂用于在热喷墨打印头中减少结垢的用途。
尽管某些现有技术的添加剂对于减少一些热喷墨打印头中的永久结垢可以是有效的,但是还未发现此类添加剂在减少导致如上所述的所谓的“重影”伪影的结垢的类型方面特别有效。
因此,期望提供一种油墨,其最小化在打印头的初始“预烧”期期间由半永久的和/或短暂的结垢引起的打印伪影。进一步希望的是此类油墨含有不会干扰油墨特性的整体平衡的成分。
发明内容
在第一方面,提供了一种喷墨油墨,其包含:
油墨载体;
聚合物;
表面活性剂包,其包含具有在5至10的范围内的HLB值的乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂;以及
具有式(I)的ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物:

根据第一方面的油墨有利地改善了热喷墨打印头中的‘重影’性能,推测是通过在打印头的初始预烧期期间改善加热器上的半永久的和/或短暂的结垢,如下面更详细地解释的。
优选地,p是3;q≠0;r≠0。例如,q可以是1至100并且r可以是1至100。例如,ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物可以具有式(IV):
可商购的根据式(IV)的ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物的具体的实例是DowCorning Additive 8526。
优选地,具有式(I)的化合物具有在4000至10,000g/mol、或优选6000至8000g/mol的范围内的分子量。
优选地,ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物以范围从0.1至1wt.%的量存在。有利地,具有式(I)的ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物具有相对低的表面活性,并且可以以足够的量添加以辅助减少结垢(以及改善打印油墨的耐久性),对油墨的表面张力产生最小的影响。
表面张力范围适用于在高频打印(例如15kHz打印或更高)期间快速的喷嘴腔室再填充。因此,需要仔细地选择和控制存在于油墨中的表面活性剂及其量。优选地,油墨的表面张力在27至30mN/m的范围内。
优选地,油墨含有小于0.1wt.%的具有式(III)的耙型单烷氧基化的硅酮化合物:

具有式(III)的耙型硅酮具有高表面活性度,并且因此不能以大于约0.1wt.%的量使用,同时满足26至31mN/m的必要的油墨表面张力范围。
在一些实施例中,油墨包含两性离子化合物,如氨基酸。优选地,两性离子化合物是甘氨酸。据信两性离子化合物有助于通过在加热器表面处的双层效应排斥带电荷的结垢聚合物物种(例如苯乙烯-丙烯酸)聚合物。优选地,两性离子化合物以在0.05至1wt.%、更优选地0.05至0.5wt.%的范围内的量存在。
在一些实施例中,表面活性剂包包含阴离子表面活性剂,据信该阴离子表面活性剂也有助于排斥结垢聚合物物种。合适的阴离子表面活性剂的优选的实例是如描述于US2020/0062982中的磺酸盐表面活性剂(例如二(C6-30烷基)磺基琥珀酸钠盐),其内容通过引用并入本文。在下文中描述了其他类型的阴离子表面活性剂。优选地,阴离子表面活性剂以在0.05至1wt.%、更优选地0.05至0.5wt.%的范围内的量存在。
聚合物可以是离子聚合物(例如带阴离子电荷的聚合物),如适用于分散颜料的苯乙烯-丙烯酸聚合物。
典型地,油墨含有通过聚合物分散的颜料。然而,在一些实施例中,油墨可以是,例如,含有聚合物但不含有任何着色剂的粘合剂流体,如颜料。
在油墨中包含乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂以与具有式(I)的烷氧基化的硅酮化合物组合,提供优异的重影性能。优选地,乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂以在0.2至1.5wt.%、更优选地0.4至1.2wt.%的范围内的量存在。优选地,乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂和具有式(I)的烷氧基化的硅酮化合物的总量为至少0.8wt.%、至少1wt.%,或优选地在0.8至1.5wt.%的范围内。
优选地,乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂具有在7至9的范围内的HLB值。
出人意料地,非乙氧基化的非离子表面活性剂(如描述于US 2020/0062982中的硫醚表面活性剂)即使与具有式(I)的烷氧基化的硅酮化合物组合使用,也具有相对较差的重影性能。
优选地,表面活性剂包进一步包含聚(氧乙烯)烷基醚表面活性剂。聚(氧乙烯)烷基醚有助于使油墨中的乙氧基化的炔属表面活性剂稳定化,并且最小化可能因使用相对高的HLB表面活性剂而导致的潜在的相分离。优选地,聚(氧乙烯)烷基醚表面活性剂以在0.05至0.5wt.%的范围内的量存在。
在优选的实施例中,油墨包含:根据式(I)的ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮、具有在5至10的范围内的HLB值的乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂、聚(氧乙烯)烷基醚表面活性剂和以下项中的至少一种:两性离子化合物和阴离子表面活性剂。在一个优选的实施例中,油墨含有两性离子化合物和阴离子表面活性剂两者。
优选地,油墨载体包含水和一种或多种共溶剂。
优选地,油墨包含一种或多种选自由以下组成的组的共溶剂:二醇醚、三乙二醇和甘油
典型地,油墨具有大于7、大于8或大于9的pH。
在第二方面,提供了一种最小化喷墨喷嘴装置中电阻加热器元件的结垢的方法,该方法包括:
向喷墨喷嘴装置供给如上所述的喷墨油墨;以及
致动加热器元件,
其中,表面活性剂包和具有式(I)的化合物一起最小化聚合物在金属氧化物表面上的结垢。
典型地,加热器元件具有与油墨接触的金属氧化物表面。
在第三方面,提供了一种打印机,其包括:
打印头,该打印头具有多个喷墨喷嘴装置;以及
与打印头处于流体连通的油墨储存器,该油墨储存器含有如上所述的油墨。
典型地,每个喷墨喷嘴装置包含具有金属氧化物表面的电阻加热器元件。
本文使用的术语“烷基”是指直链和支链形式的烷基,典型地具有从1至30个碳原子。除非另有说明,否则烷基还可以插入有1、2或3个双键和/或三键。然而,术语“烷基”通常是指没有双键或三键插入的烷基。术语“烷基”通常是指非环状烷基,但是它也可以包括环烷基。
本文提及双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物的情况下,这通常是指双C2-3烷氧基化的硅酮化合物。
如本文使用的,术语“油墨”被认为意指可以从喷墨打印头打印的任何打印流体。油墨可以含有或可以不含有着色剂。相应地,术语“油墨”可以包括常规的染料基或颜料基油墨、红外油墨、固定剂(例如预涂层和整理剂)、3D打印流体(例如可以含有聚合物的粘合剂流体)、功能流体(例如太阳能油墨、传感器油墨等)、生物流体等等。在提及流体或打印流体的情况下,这并不旨在限制本文“油墨”的含义。
具体实施方式
本发明的诸位发明人寻求以下问题的解决方案:在喷墨打印头的初始预烧期期间最小化重影伪影。如以上所讨论的,据信,加热器元件上短暂的和半永久的结垢是此类重影伪影的原因,并且本发明的诸位发明人将其注意力转向抗结垢添加剂以解决这一问题。本申请人先前已经使用乙氧基化的甘油(如EG-1)以减少染料基油墨中的结垢(参见,例如,WO 2016/078859)。然而,已经发现乙氧基化的甘油在减少申请人的颜料基油墨中的结垢方面仅取得有限的成功,并且因此有必要确定替代性抗结垢添加剂。ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物(例如Dow Corning Additive8526)是喷墨油墨中的有用成分,因为其改善打印油墨的耐久性的能力,特别是在光泽介质上。此类硅酮由于其低的表面活性而成为有吸引力的油墨添加剂,这意味着它们可以以有效的量添加而不干扰油墨特性的整体平衡。本发明的诸位发明人假设此类硅酮可以用于通过增加加热器表面的润滑性减少结垢,从而最小化聚合物可以吸附在加热器表面上的程度。然而,ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物和非乙氧基化的表面活性剂的组合在重影方面提供了相对较差的结果。
在筛选了以不同组合的大量不同的油墨添加剂后,出人意料地发现改用乙氧基化的炔属表面活性剂提供了对重影性能的适度改善。此外,ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物和具有在5-10的范围内的HLB值的乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂的组合提供了对重影性能的显著改善。看来,油墨中足量的乙氧基化的物种是有必要的,以减少在加热器表面处短暂的和/或半永久的结垢。然而,使用高HLB表面活性剂(即HLB>10)效果较差,并且导致油墨发生一定的相分离。
对于一些油墨来说,在添加甘氨酸和/或阴离子表面活性剂的情况下,这一改善进一步增强。不希望受理论的束缚,据信两性离子氨基酸参与了加热器表面处双电层的形成,这可以进一步有助于排斥聚合物分散剂。据信阴离子表面活性剂同样参与了排斥加热器表面处的聚合物分散剂。
着色剂
在本发明中使用的油墨典型地是染料基或颜料基油墨、优选颜料基油墨。
喷墨染料对于本领域技术人员而言将是众所周知的,并且本发明不限于任何具体类型的染料。举例来说,适用于本发明的染料包括偶氮染料(例如食品黑2)、金属络合物染料、萘酚染料、蒽醌染料、靛蓝染料、碳鎓染料、醌-亚胺染料、呫吨染料、花青染料、喹啉染料、硝基染料、亚硝基染料、苯醌染料、萘醌染料、酞菁染料(包括萘酞菁染料)、以及金属酞菁染料(包括金属萘酞菁染料,如US 7,148,345中所描述的那些,其内容通过引用并入本文)。

适用于本发明的常规颜料可以是无机颜料或有机颜料。常规颜料的实例是炭黑、镉红、钼红、铬黄、镉黄、钛黄、氧化铬、铬绿、钛钴绿、群青蓝、普鲁士蓝、钴蓝、二酮吡咯并吡咯、蒽醌、苯并咪唑酮、蒽嘧啶、偶氮颜料、酞菁颜料(包括萘菁颜料)、喹吖啶酮(uinacridone)颜料、异吲哚啉酮颜料、二噁嗪颜料、阴丹士林颜料、苝颜料、紫环酮(perinone)颜料、硫靛蓝颜料、喹酞酮颜料、以及金属络合物颜料。

颜料可以是自分散的颜料,如表面改性的颜料。表面改性可以通过阴离子基团、阳离子基团或颜料表面的直接改性。典型的表面改性基团是羧酸根和磺酸根基团。然而,还可以使用其他表面改性基团,如阴离子磷酸根基团或阳离子铵基团。
合适的水性表面改性的颜料分散体的具体实例是Black SDP-2000、SDP-1000和SDP-100(从森馨色素公司(Sensient Colors Inc.)可获得的),以及300、250C、260M和270Y(从卡博特公司可获得的)。
可替代地,颜料可以是常规的颜料分散体,其包括用于包封未改性的颜料颗粒的聚合物分散剂。合适的颜料分散体的实例及其制备描述于例如US 9,834,694中,其内容通过引用并入本文。
喷墨油墨中的颜料颗粒的平均粒径典型地是在50至500nm的范围内。
颜料和染料可单独地或以其两种或更多种的组合用在喷墨油墨中。
油墨载体
在本发明中使用的油墨载体典型地是常规的水性油墨载体,其包含至少40wt%的水、至少50wt%的水或至少60wt%的水。通常,存在于喷墨油墨中的水的量是在40wt%至90wt%的范围内,或者任选地在50wt%至70wt%的范围内。
根据本发明的油墨可进一步包含共溶剂(包括保湿剂、渗透剂、润湿剂等),表面活性剂,杀生物剂,螯合剂,pH调节剂,粘度调节剂等。
共溶剂典型地是水溶性有机溶剂。合适的水溶性有机溶剂包括C1-4烷基醇,如乙醇、甲醇、丁醇、丙醇以及2-丙醇;亚烷基二醇,如乙二醇、二乙二醇、三乙二醇和四乙二醇;二醇醚,如乙二醇单甲醚、乙二醇单乙醚、乙二醇单丁醚、乙二醇单甲醚乙酸酯、二乙二醇单甲醚、二乙二醇单乙醚、二乙二醇单正丙醚、乙二醇单异丙醚、二乙二醇单异丙醚、乙二醇单正丁醚、二乙二醇单正丁醚、三乙二醇单正丁醚、乙二醇单叔丁醚、二乙二醇单叔丁醚、1-甲基-1-甲氧基丁醇、丙二醇单甲醚、丙二醇单乙醚、丙二醇单叔丁醚、丙二醇单正丙醚、丙二醇单异丙醚、二丙二醇单甲醚、二丙二醇单乙醚、二丙二醇单正丙醚、二丙二醇单异丙醚、丙二醇单正丁醚、以及二丙二醇单正丁醚;甲酰胺、乙酰胺、二甲基亚砜、山梨糖醇、脱水山梨糖醇、单乙酸甘油酯、二乙酸甘油酯、三乙酸甘油酯、和环丁砜;或其组合。
可以用作共溶剂的其他有用的水溶性有机溶剂包括极性溶剂,如2-吡咯烷酮、N-甲基吡咯烷酮、ε-己内酰胺、二甲基亚砜、吗啉、N-乙基吗啉、1,3-二甲基-2-咪唑啉酮以及其组合。
喷墨油墨可以含有另一种高沸点水溶性有机溶剂作为共溶剂,所述共溶剂可以充当用于将保水性和润湿特性赋予给油墨组合物的润湿剂或保湿剂。高沸点水溶性有机溶剂的实例是2-丁烯-1,4-二醇、2-乙基-1,3-己二醇、2-甲基-2,4-戊二醇、三丙二醇单甲醚、二丙二醇单乙二醇、二丙二醇单乙醚、二丙二醇单甲醚、二丙二醇、三乙二醇单甲醚、二乙二醇单丁醚、二乙二醇单乙醚、二乙二醇单甲醚、三丙二醇、具有2000或更低的分子量的聚乙二醇、1,3-丙二醇、异丙二醇、异丁二醇、1,4-丁二醇、1,3-丁二醇、1,5-戊二醇、1,6-己二醇、甘油、三羟甲基丙烷、赤藻糖醇、季戊四醇以及其组合。
其他合适的润湿剂或保湿剂包括糖(包括单糖、低聚糖和多糖)及其衍生物(例如麦芽糖醇、山梨糖醇、木糖醇、透明质酸盐、醛糖酸、糖醛酸等)。
喷墨油墨还可以含有用于促进水性油墨渗透进记录介质内的渗透剂(作为共溶剂之一)。合适的渗透剂包括多元醇烷基醚(二醇醚)和/或1,2-烷基二醇。合适的多元醇烷基醚的实例是乙二醇单甲醚、乙二醇单乙醚、乙二醇单丁醚、乙二醇单甲醚乙酸酯、二乙二醇单甲醚、二乙二醇单乙醚、乙二醇单正丙醚、乙二醇单异丙醚、二乙二醇单异丙醚、乙二醇单正丁醚、二乙二醇单正丁醚、三乙二醇单正丁醚、乙二醇单叔丁醚、二乙二醇单叔丁醚、1-甲基-1-甲氧基丁醇、丙二醇单甲醚、丙二醇单乙醚、丙二醇单叔丁醚、丙二醇单正丙醚、丙二醇单异丙醚、二丙二醇单甲醚、二丙二醇单乙醚、二丙二醇单正丙醚、二丙二醇单异丙醚、丙二醇单正丁醚、和二丙二醇单正丁醚。合适的1,2-烷基二醇的实例是1,2-戊二醇和1,2-己二醇。渗透剂还可以选自直链烃二醇,如1,3-丙二醇、1,4-丁二醇、1,5-戊二醇、1,6-己二醇、1,7-庚二醇、和1,8-辛二醇。还可以将甘油用作渗透剂。
如在WO 2020/038726中描述的,从改善干燥时间的观点来看,在油墨载体中典型地包括二乙二醇单烷基醚,如二乙二醇单正丁醚(正丁基二甘醇)。存在于油墨载体中的乙二醇单烷基醚的量典型地是在1至10wt.%的范围内。
典型地,存在于油墨中的共溶剂的总量是在约5wt%至60wt%、或任选地10wt%至50wt%的范围内。
表面活性剂
除了以上描述的那些,表面活性剂包可以含有表面活性剂。例如,在表面活性剂包中可以包含阴离子表面活性剂、两性离子表面活性剂和非离子表面活性剂,以辅助调整油墨特性。有用的阴离子表面活性剂包括磺酸类型,如链烷磺酸盐、α-烯烃磺酸盐、烷基苯磺酸盐、烷基萘磺酸、酰基甲基牛磺酸、以及二烷基磺基琥珀酸;烷基硫酸酯盐、硫酸化油、硫酸化烯烃、聚氧乙烯烷基醚硫酸酯盐;羧酸类型,例如,脂肪酸盐、以及烷基肌氨酸盐;以及磷酸酯类型,如烷基磷酸酯盐、聚氧乙烯烷基醚磷酸酯盐、和甘油磷酸酯盐。阴离子表面活性剂的具体实例是二(C6-30烷基)磺基琥珀酸钠盐、十二烷基苯磺酸钠、月桂酸钠、和聚氧乙烯烷基醚硫酸铵盐。
两性离子表面活性剂的实例包括N,N-二甲基-N-辛基胺氧化物、N,N-二甲基-N-十二烷基胺氧化物、N,N-二甲基-N-十四烷基胺氧化物、N,N-二甲基-N-十六烷基胺氧化物、N,N-二甲基-N-十八烷基胺氧化物和N,N-二甲基-N-(Z-9-十八烯基)-N-胺氧化物。
非离子表面活性剂的实例包括氧化乙烯加合物类型,如聚氧乙烯烷基醚、聚氧乙烯烷基苯基醚、聚氧乙烯烷基酯、以及聚氧乙烯烷基酰胺;多元醇酯类型,如甘油烷基酯、脱水山梨糖醇烷基酯、以及糖烷基酯;聚醚类型,如多元醇烷基醚;以及烷醇酰胺类型,如烷醇胺脂肪酸酰胺。非离子表面活化剂的具体实例是醚,如聚氧乙烯壬基苯基醚、聚氧乙烯辛基苯基醚、聚氧乙烯十二烷基苯基醚、聚氧乙烯烷基烯丙基醚、聚氧乙烯油烯基醚、聚氧乙烯月桂基醚、以及聚氧化烯烷基醚(例如聚氧乙烯烷基醚);以及酯,如聚氧乙烯油酸酯(polyoxyethylene oleate)、聚氧乙烯油酸酯(polyoxyethylene oleate ester)、聚氧乙烯二硬脂酸酯、脱水山梨糖醇月桂酸酯、脱水山梨糖醇单硬脂酸酯、脱水山梨糖醇单油酸酯、脱水山梨糖醇倍半油酸酯、聚氧乙烯单油酸酯、以及聚氧乙烯硬脂酸酯。
在表面活性剂包中还可以包含另外的乙炔二醇表面活性剂。此类非离子表面活性剂的具体的实例是(从空气化工产品有限公司(Air Products andChemicals,Inc.)可商购)。
耙型烷氧基化的硅酮表面活性剂也可以少量(例如0.1wt.%或更少)使用。耙型乙氧基化的硅酮表面活性剂的具体实例是BYK-345、BYK-346和BYK-349(由毕克日本株式会社(BYK Japan K.K.)制造),以及SilfaceTM SAG-002、SAG-005、SAG-008、SAG-KB和SAG-503A(由日信化学工业株式会社(Nissin Chemical Industry Co.,Ltd.)制造)。
存在于油墨中的一种或多种表面活性剂的总量典型地以范围从0.05wt.%至2wt%或0.1至1.5wt.%的量。
其他添加剂
水性喷墨油墨还可以包含pH调节剂或缓冲剂,如氢氧化钠、氢氧化钾、氢氧化锂、碳酸钠、碳酸氢钠、碳酸钾、碳酸氢钾、碳酸锂、磷酸钠、磷酸钾、磷酸锂、磷酸二氢钾、磷酸氢二钾、草酸钠、草酸钾、草酸锂、硼酸钠、四硼酸钠、邻苯二甲酸氢钾、和酒石酸氢钾;氨;以及胺,如甲胺、乙胺、二乙胺、三甲胺、三乙胺、三(羟甲基)氨基甲烷盐酸盐、三乙醇胺、二乙醇胺、二乙基乙醇胺、三异丙醇胺、丁基二乙醇胺、吗啉、丙醇胺、4-吗啉乙磺酸和4-吗啉丙磺酸(“MOPS”)。当存在时,pH调节剂的量典型地是在从0.01至2wt.%或0.05至1wt.%的范围内。
水性喷墨油墨还可以包含杀生物剂,如苯甲酸、双氯酚、六氯酚、山梨酸、羟基苯甲酸酯、脱氢醋酸钠、1,2-苯噻唑啉-3-酮(“GXL”,从奥麒化工公司(ArchChemicals,Inc.)可获得的)、3,4-异噻唑啉-3-酮或4,4-二甲基噁唑烷。当存在时,杀生物剂的量典型地是在从0.01至2wt.%或0.05至1wt.%的范围内。
水性喷墨油墨还可以含有螯合剂,如乙二胺四乙酸(EDTA)。
水性喷墨油墨可以含有某些金属盐,特别是三价金属盐,如铝盐和/或镓盐,以用于在打印头的使用寿命内最小化二氧化硅在喷嘴腔室中的溶解。合适的三价金属盐描述于例如WO 2012/151630中,其内容通过引用并入本文。
水性喷墨油墨可以另外含有少量(例如2至90ppm)的铵盐(例如硝酸铵、甲酸铵等),以用于最小化加热器分层并且延长打印头的寿命。含有此类铵盐的油墨配制品描述于WO 2020/038725中,其内容通过引用并入本文。
喷墨打印头
根据本发明的油墨主要用于与热喷墨打印头组合使用,尽管它们当然可以用于其他类型的打印头中。示例性类型的喷墨打印头描述于例如US 9,950,527、US 9,283,756和US 9,994,017中,这些专利中的每一个的内容通过引用并入本文。
实验部分
重影性能测试
使用由本申请人开发的标准方案测试油墨的重影性能。描述于US9,950,527(其内容通过引用并入本文)中描述的类型的新制造的具有热喷墨喷嘴装置的打印头最初用于以100%密度打印三重排列的实心垂直条。打印300英尺的三重条(triplet bars)后,使用所有喷嘴以50%密度打印纯灰度背景图像。打印40页的背景图像后,在背景图像中确定三重条区域(即,与先前打印的三重条对应的那些区域)以及三重条之外的背景区域的L*值。典型地,40页后,三重条区域比背景区域具有更低的L*值。L*值的这种差异被记录为指示重影性能ΔL*值-较大的ΔL*值(例如3或以上)指示相对较差的重影性能(换句话说,通过较低的图像强度,三重条的‘重影’在背景图像中是可见的);较小的ΔL*值指示重影性能良好。
油墨配制品
如在表1中描述的配制水性颜料基油墨并且在使用之前过滤(0.2微米)。油墨组分以wt.%示出,并且所有油墨含有2ppm的铝离子(以硝酸铝形式)。所有油墨具有在27至31mN/m的范围内的表面张力。

d.EmulgenTM 120是聚氧乙烯月桂基醚,从花王株式会社(Kao Corporation)可获得的。
e.440是具有8的HLB值的非离子炔属表面活性剂,从日信化学工业株式会社可获得的。
下表2示出了使用以上描述的测试方法的油墨1-6的重影性能:

表2中的结果表明含有440和Dow Corning Additive 8526的组合的油墨3至6在重影方面显著优于油墨1和2。虽然油墨3具有优异的重影性能但是相对高的量的在油墨稳定性方面是不利的。在油墨4中,与油墨1和2相比,另外的非离子表面活性剂(聚氧乙烯月桂基醚)有助于改善油墨稳定性同时具有改善的重影性能。在油墨5和6中,在添加甘氨酸(油墨5)或甘氨酸与阴离子表面活性剂一起(油墨6)的情况下,重影性能甚至进一步改善。虽然油墨6展现出最佳的所测试的油墨的重影性能,但是从油墨特性的整体平衡的角度看,油墨5由于其观察到的较低的发泡特征通常是优选的。
定性地,用较高的HLB表面活性剂(例如465)配制的油墨由于增加的相分离而稳定性较差,并且具有较差的储存性能。就此类油墨可以配制和测试的程度而言,重影性能显著比油墨3至6差,尽管此类油墨由于其较差的稳定性而被认为是不可行的。
当然,应理解,仅通过举例的方式描述了本发明,并且在所附权利要求中限定的本发明的范围内可以进行细节的修改。
Claims (15)
1.一种喷墨油墨,其包含:
油墨载体;
聚合物;
表面活性剂包,其包含具有在5至10的范围内的HLB值的乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂;以及
具有式(I)的ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物:
其中:
a是1、2、3、4或5;
R1和R2各自独立地是具有式(II)的部分:
-(CH2)pO-(C2H4O)q-(C3H6O)rH
(II)
p是1、2、3、4或5;
q是0至200;
r是0至200;
q+r大于1;并且
所述油墨的表面张力在26至31mN/m的范围内。
2.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其中,所述乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂和所述具有式(I)的ABA型双烷氧基化的硅酮化合物的总量是至少1wt.%。
3.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其进一步包含两性离子化合物。
4.如权利要求3所述的喷墨,其中,所述两性离子化合物是甘氨酸。
5.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其中,所述聚合物包括苯乙烯-丙烯酸聚合物。
6.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其中,所述乙氧基化的炔属非离子表面活性剂具有在7至9的范围内的HLB值。
7.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其中,所述表面活性剂包进一步包含聚(氧乙烯)烷基醚表面活性剂。
8.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其中,所述表面活性剂包包含阴离子表面活性剂。
9.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其中,所述油墨载体包含水和一种或多种共溶剂。
10.如权利要求9所述的喷墨,其中,所述油墨载体包含一种或多种选自由以下组成的组的共溶剂:二醇醚、1,2-烷基二醇、三乙二醇和甘油。
11.如权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨,其进一步包含颜料。
12.一种最小化喷墨喷嘴装置中电阻加热器元件的结垢的方法,所述方法包括:
向所述喷墨喷嘴装置供给根据权利要求1所述的喷墨油墨;以及
致动所述加热器元件,
其中,所述表面活性剂包和所述具有式(I)的化合物一起最小化聚合物在金属氧化物表面上的结垢。
13.如权利要求12所述的方法,其中,所述加热器元件具有与所述油墨接触的金属氧化物表面。
14.一种喷墨打印机,其包括:
打印头,所述打印头具有多个喷墨喷嘴装置;以及
与所述打印头处于流体连通的油墨储存器,所述油墨储存器含有根据权利要求1所述的油墨。
15.如权利要求14所述的喷墨打印机,其中,每个喷墨喷嘴装置包括具有金属氧化物表面的电阻加热器元件。
