Detailed Description
The AC is an access controller, namely a wireless controller, which is a network device responsible for managing an AP (thin AP) in a wireless network in a certain area and mainly used for regulating seamless roaming.
AP: it can be understood simply as an antenna for signal transmission and reception, requiring AC control. The AP without management function is a thin AP.
There are two ways for AC/AP networking:
(1) Split MAC mode (centralized forwarding). All data frames and management frames in the separated MAC mode are encapsulated by the CAPWAP protocol, and exchange between the AC and the AP, i.e. the AC not only manages the AP, but also serves as a forwarding center of the AP traffic, i.e. the AP management flow and the data flow are encapsulated in the CAPWAP tunnel to reach the AC, as shown in fig. 2. The received radio frames from a Station are encapsulated directly and forwarded to the AC.
(2) Local MAC mode (Local forwarding) is also called datagram text forwarding. The AC only manages the AP, and the service data is directly forwarded by the local, namely, the AP management flow is encapsulated in the CAPWAP tunnel to reach the AC termination; the AP service flow is directly sent to the switching equipment for direct forwarding without CAPWAP encapsulation. However, if the Tunnel mode is set to 802.3Frame Tunnel in Local MAC mode, the encapsulated data Frame must be in 802.3 format, WTP performs 802.11 integration functions, sends to AC through CAPWAP Tunnel, and wireless management or control Frame is forwarded to AC through CAPWAP control Tunnel in its own native format.
CAPWAP is an abbreviation for Control AndProvisioning ofWireless AccessPoints ProtocolSpecification, meaning the control and configuration protocol of the wireless access point. CAPWAP is a universal tunneling protocol, which completes the basic protocol functions such as AP discovery AC, etc.
The CAPWAP protocol defines how to manage and configure access points, and includes the following main contents:
(1) The automatic discovery of the AP to the AC and the running and maintenance of the state machine of the AP & AC.
(2) And the AC manages the AP and issues the service configuration.
(3) And the STA data packages the CAPWAP tunnel for forwarding.
CAPWAP includes two parts: CAPWAP protocol and wireless BINDING protocol. The former is a universal tunnel protocol, which completes the basic protocol functions such as AP discovery AC and the like, and is irrelevant to the specific wireless access technology. The latter is to provide configuration management functions specifically related to a certain radio access technology. So say bar, the former prescribes what needs to be done at each stage, the latter is specific to how this should be done under various access modes.
The present invention will be further described with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific examples, which are not intended to be limiting, so that those skilled in the art will better understand the invention and practice it.
The invention provides a method for managing APs of different brands by an AC based on iWiFi, wherein identifiable brand models are preset in a configuration file by the AC,

The AC may issue corresponding configuration configurations to the APs in the brands list to meet the customer requirements, that is, the AC may be different according to different brands of WiFi chips selected by the APs of each brand, and the supported WiFi specifications may be different, and the AC side may customize different configurations according to the brand types of the APs and the customer requirements, for example, a configuration of single 5G, single 2.4G, dual-band integration, or 160M bandwidth may be configured.
Different configurations are issued by the AP, so that the purpose of adapting to multiple APs is achieved.
Further, the identifying, by the AC, the brand model of the AP includes:
