Abstract
The invention relates to insulation of a connection box for a motor land vehicle, and in particular to a ventilation grille (10) configured for air circulation between the passenger compartment and an intermediate space formed between the roof and headliner of the vehicle.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention claims priority from french application 2010990 filed on 10/27 2020, the contents of which application (text, figures and claims) are incorporated herein by reference.
The present invention is in the field of electronic circuit elements responsible for the connection of motor land vehicles. In particular, the invention relates to passive cooling of a junction box that is received in an opening in the roof of the vehicle.
Background
"motor land vehicle" is understood to mean any type of vehicle, such as a motor vehicle, a motor bicycle, an airplane, a train, a motorcycle, a storage robot in a warehouse, etc.
By "accommodated in an opening in the roof" is understood that the connection box is arranged in said opening. In particular, the connection box may be inserted in a receiving portion (a cavity of the vehicle body dedicated to receiving the box) and then bonded or screwed. In an embodiment, the box is glued or screwed onto the body and over the opening.
The latest generation connection boxes are typically coupled directly to the vehicle exterior surface. This configuration presents a problem of overheating of the electronic circuit components contained in the cartridge. These electronic circuit elements themselves generate a large amount of heat energy (heat), and are subjected to heat energy brought about by the external environment due to the arrangement of the electronic circuit elements on the vehicle body.
Typically, junction boxes that themselves generate a large amount of thermal energy are housed in a vehicle body that is painted dark (vehicle body color) and directly receive sunlight, which may create degraded operation.
There is therefore a need to limit the effects of overheating of the junction box.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention will improve the situation.
To this end, a first aspect of the invention relates to a motor-driven land vehicle comprising:
-a roof, the face of which is external to the vehicle;
-a headliner, the face of the headliner being in the passenger compartment of the vehicle;
-a connection box housed in an opening of the roof;
wherein the headliner comprises a ventilation grille configured for air circulation between the passenger compartment and an intermediate space formed between the roof and the headliner.
The cooling box thus defined brings fresh air (or at least less hot air) to the means of connection box.
In fact, the circulation of air with the passenger compartment enables the tank to be at a temperature close to the temperature of the passenger compartment. The air conditioning of the passenger compartment is thus generally advantageously reused.
In an embodiment, the connection box includes an antenna and a process box.
In an embodiment, the process cartridge is included in the intermediate space.
In an embodiment, the connection box comprises a fan configured to enhance air circulation.
A second aspect of the invention relates to a transmission method for transmitting data by a connection box of a motor land vehicle, the motor land vehicle comprising:
-a roof, the face of which is external to the vehicle;
-a headliner, the face of the headliner being in the passenger compartment of the vehicle;
-a connection box housed in an opening of the roof;
wherein the headliner comprises a ventilation grille configured for air circulation between the passenger compartment and an intermediate space formed between the roof and the headliner;
the method comprises the following steps:
-processing said data by electronic circuit elements comprised in said connection box;
-transmitting the processed data by an antenna comprised in the vehicle.
A third aspect of the invention relates to a receiving method for receiving a signal by a junction box of a motor land vehicle, the motor land vehicle comprising:
-a roof, the face of which is external to the vehicle;
-a headliner, the face of the headliner being in the passenger compartment of the vehicle;
-a connection box housed in an opening of the roof;
wherein the headliner comprises a ventilation grille configured for air circulation between the passenger compartment and an intermediate space formed between the roof and the headliner;
the method comprises the following steps:
-receiving the signal by an antenna comprised in the vehicle;
-processing said signals by electronic circuit elements comprised in said connection box.

Detailed Description
The invention is described hereinafter in its non-limiting application in the case of a junction box mounted on the roof (further called roof) of a motor vehicle. Other applications are also conceivable, for example via a connection box mounted on the handlebars of an electric bicycle or via a connection box arranged on the headlight of a motor bicycle.
Fig. 1 is a schematic view showing a roof of a vehicle including a junction box according to an embodiment of the present invention.
In particular, fig. 1 shows a roof 2 of the vehicle (a part of the roof is shown on fig. 1).
A junction box 4 is included on the roof. In particular, the box 4 is housed in an opening of the roof, as shown in fig. 4.
The visible face of the roof of fig. 1 is located outside the vehicle.
Fig. 2 is a schematic view showing a connection box according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The connection box 4 includes an antenna 41 and a process box 42. The shark fin type antenna comprises a plurality of antennas according to the associated communication channels (wifi, cellular etc.) which are coupled to the circuit elements present in the box 42. The circuit elements are configured to process and thus for example modulate/demodulate signals received by the antenna.
Fig. 3 is a schematic view showing the bottom surface of the junction box with foam according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The bottom of the junction box 4 is shown here, in particular the lower part of the process cartridge 42.
An insulating foam 8 is assembled with the junction box. As will be described in detail below with reference to fig. 4, the foam thereby forms a cooling box below the junction box. In particular, the insulating foam conforms to the contour of the underside of the junction box.
The heat insulation foam is assembled with the connecting box through a buckle. One of the snap members 6 is shown in fig. 3. By "snap-fit assembly" is understood any assembly in which the deformable portion is placed on the other portion by deformation, which, once the assembly is completed, resumes its original form and thus makes assembly of the two portions possible.
Fig. 4 is a schematic view showing a view of a junction box accommodated in the roof according to an embodiment of the present invention.
In fig. 4, the connection box 4 is accommodated in an opening of the roof 2. In particular, the antenna 41 is exposed above the roof, and the process cartridge 42 is located at some partial positions below the antenna and below the roof (for example, in front of the antenna).
A headliner 12 is included in the vehicle. The headliner defines a top of a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The headliner typically comprises a textile or plastic material for wrapping the passenger compartment. Whereby the face of the headliner is in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
An intermediate space exists between the roof 2 and the inner liner 12. A cooling tank 14 is included in the space.
A front lower portion 81, a front upper portion 82 and a rear portion 83 of the foam 8 are shown. In fact, in fig. 4, the front portion of the foam (made up of portions 81 and 82) is uncompressed to show the positioning of the foam. In fact, once the lining is assembled with the roof on which the junction box has been previously assembled, the front portion constituted by the portions 81 and 82 is compressed so that the portion 81 is no longer present, and the whole of the front portion is compressed at the position of the portion 82. The rear portion 83 is also compressible according to the roof and passenger compartment form of the vehicle.
Thereby, a cooling tank 14 is included in the intermediate space.
In an embodiment, the tank 14 is not present and the air circulation is only performed through said intermediate space.
The headliner 12 includes a ventilation grille 10 configured for air circulation between the passenger compartment and the cooling box. The air is thus exchanged with the passenger compartment and fresh air is passed to the active cooling means (e.g. fans) arrangement of the junction box.
