Detailed Description
Implementations of the present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. While certain implementations of the present disclosure are shown in the accompanying drawings, it is to be understood that the present disclosure may be embodied in various forms and should not be construed as limited to the implementations set forth herein, but rather, these implementations are provided so that this disclosure will be more thorough and complete. It should be understood that the drawings and implementations of the present disclosure are for illustrative purposes only and are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.
In the description of implementations of the present disclosure, the term "include" and its similar terms should be understood as open-ended, i.e., including, but not limited to. The term "based on" should be understood as "based at least in part on". The term "one implementation" or "the implementation" should be understood as "at least one implementation". The term "some implementations" should be understood as "at least some implementations". Other explicit and implicit definitions are also possible below. As used herein, the term "model" may represent an associative relationship between individual data. For example, the above-described association relationship may be obtained based on various technical schemes currently known and/or to be developed in the future.
It will be appreciated that the data (including but not limited to the data itself, the acquisition or use of the data) involved in the present technical solution should comply with the corresponding legal regulations and the requirements of the relevant regulations.
It will be appreciated that prior to use of the technical solutions disclosed in the various implementations of the present disclosure, the user should be informed and authorized of the type of personal information, the scope of use, the use scenario, etc. to which the present disclosure relates in an appropriate manner according to relevant legal regulations.
For example, in response to receiving an active request from a user, a prompt is sent to the user to explicitly prompt the user that the operation it is requesting to perform will require personal information to be obtained and used with the user. Thus, the user can autonomously select whether to provide personal information to software or hardware such as an electronic device, an application program, a server or a storage medium for executing the operation of the technical scheme of the present disclosure according to the prompt information.
As an alternative but non-limiting implementation, in response to receiving an active request from a user, the prompt information may be sent to the user, for example, in a pop-up window, where the prompt information may be presented in text. In addition, a selection control for the user to select "agree" or "disagree" to provide personal information to the electronic device may also be carried in the pop-up window.
It will be appreciated that the above-described notification and user authorization process is merely illustrative, and not limiting of the implementations of the present disclosure, and that other ways of satisfying relevant legal regulations may be applied to the implementations of the present disclosure.
As mentioned briefly above, how to select a search result from a large number of search results presents a problem to the user that is to be solved. In conventional search schemes, search results are typically presented to a user based on the degree of matching between the search results and a target search. However, some search results, even if matched to a high degree, may not meet user requirements in terms of result presentation. For example, if the user wants to search for a certain movie video. The presented search results may be associated with an external page that matches the movie video. However, these external pages may not be accessible.
Implementations of the present disclosure propose a scheme for searching. According to various implementations of the present disclosure, a ranking indicator of search results is determined based on an external page associated with the search results of the target search and/or a results presentation page of the target search. At least a portion of the search results are presented according to respective ranking criteria of a set of search results. In this way, search results having a better presentation effect on an external page or a result presentation page can be preferentially presented to the user.
Example implementations of the present disclosure are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Example Environment
FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example environment 100 in which implementations of the present disclosure can be implemented. In this example environment 100, an electronic device 110 receives a target search 120. For example, an application or search class engine supporting search functions may be installed on the electronic device 110. The user may enter the target search 120 via an application or search class engine, for example, the user may utilize one or more keywords to define the target search 120. The electronic device 110 may receive a user-entered target search 120.
The electronic device 110 presents at least a portion of the search results to the user based on the received target search 120. As an example, the electronic device 110 may present a results presentation page 130 (also referred to as a abduction page). The results presentation page 130 may be presented on a display unit or Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the electronic device 110 or on an external display device associated with the electronic device 110.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, at least one search result, such as search result 132, search result 134, and so forth, is presented on results presentation page 130. Additionally or alternatively, according to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, the results presentation page 130 has a search box 136 presented thereon, in which the contents of the target search 120 are presented, as shown by the keyword "XX" in FIG. 1. It should be understood that the text or content shown in fig. 1 is merely exemplary and not limiting. The number and content of search results shown in results presentation page 130 is merely exemplary and not limiting.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, search results are associated with external pages. For example, the search results 134 may be associated with an external page 140 (also referred to as a landing page). If the user selects (e.g., clicks, touches, etc.) the search results 134, the electronic device 110 will present the external page 140 to the user. It should be understood that the various results presentation pages or external pages listed herein are merely exemplary and not limiting.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, for target search 120, electronic device 110 determines a set of search results. The electronic device 110 will select at least a portion of the search results from the set of search results and present to the user in the determined ordering, as presented in the results presentation page 130. In general, users prefer to browse the top ranked search results preferentially, and rarely browse the very bottom ranked search results. However, in existing search applications, situations may arise in which the user cannot find better search results because of improper ordering. It will be appreciated that the ordering of the individual search results will become a key factor in the user experience, and thus, it is desirable to preferentially present search results to the user that more meet the user's search requirements.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, the electronic device 110 may be any type of mobile terminal, fixed terminal, or portable terminal, including a mobile handset, desktop computer, laptop computer, notebook computer, netbook computer, tablet computer, media computer, multimedia tablet, personal Communication System (PCS) device, personal navigation device, personal Digital Assistant (PDA), audio/video player, digital camera/video camera, positioning device, television receiver, radio broadcast receiver, electronic book device, gaming device, or any combination of the foregoing, including accessories and peripherals for these devices, or any combination thereof. In some implementations, terminal device 110 is also capable of supporting any type of interface to the user (such as "wearable" circuitry, etc.).
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, electronic device 110 may also be a server. For example, electronic device 110 may be various types of computing systems/servers capable of providing computing capabilities, including, but not limited to, mainframes, edge computing nodes, computing devices in a cloud environment, and so forth. It should be understood that the structure and function of the various elements in environment 100 are described for illustrative purposes only and are not meant to suggest any limitation as to the scope of the disclosure.
The process of determining at least a portion of the search results from a set of search results and presenting the search results in a determined order will be described below with reference to the application environment of fig. 1 in conjunction with fig. 2-4.
Example Process for determining search result ranking indicators
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, for target search 120, electronic device 110 determines a set of search results. The electronic device 110 obtains a respective ranking index for a set of search results based on the external page 140 and/or the results presentation page 130. Here, the ranking index may represent the order in which the search results are presented in the results presentation page. Specifically, the ranking indicator may be represented with a value (or have other range of values) of 0 to 100, with a higher ranking the greater the value (e.g., the highest search result of the ranking indicator may be displayed at bit 1), and a lower ranking the smaller the value. Alternatively and/or additionally, the ranking index may be defined based on other ways.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, the electronic device 110 may determine ranking indicators based on different pages for different categories of target searches 120. FIG. 2 illustrates a block diagram of a process 200 for determining ranking indicators of search results differently according to search categories in accordance with some implementations of the disclosure. Process 200 may be implemented at electronic device 110. Process 200 is described below with reference to the application environment of fig. 1.
At block 210, the electronic device 110 may determine a category of the target search 120. If the electronic device 110 determines that the category of the target search 120 is a question-and-answer search 220, the electronic device 110 may obtain a ranking index based on the results presentation page 130 at block 240.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, electronic device 110 may determine a ranking metric for the search results based on the matching of content associated with the search results on results presentation page 130 and target search 120. As an example, if the degree of matching of content associated with search results 132 on results presentation page 130 to target search 120 is high, electronic device 110 may increase the ranking index of search results 132. According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, the degree of matching may be determined based on a semantic comparison algorithm, or may be determined based on other algorithms in the search technology field. In this way, the content on the results presentation page 130 (also referred to as a abduction summary) can be ordered before the search results that directly answer the target search 120, thereby improving the efficiency with which the user finds the answer.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, electronic device 110 may determine a ranking indicator for a search result based on the degree of matching of content associated with the search result on results presentation page 130 and titles on an external page associated with the search result. As an example, if the content on the results presentation page 130 associated with the search results 134 matches the title on the external page 140 associated with the search results 134 to a higher degree, the electronic device 110 may increase the ranking index of the search results 134. In general, the title may reflect the core content of the external page, in this way, the content on the result presentation page 130 (also referred to as a abduction summary) can be more consistent with the topic such as an article title, or the search results of the content hit target search 120 on the result presentation page 130 are ranked in front, thereby improving the efficiency of the user finding the answer.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, all or a portion of a set of search results may be presented. For example, search results to be presented may be selected based on a ranking metric. In the case where the ranking index is represented using a value between 0 and 100, a threshold value (e.g., 30 or other value) may be defined and only search results with ranking index above the threshold value are presented. In this way, search results that are more conducive to improving the user experience may be presented.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, electronic device 110 may determine a ranking metric for a search result based on the location of content associated with the search result on results presentation page 130 on an external page associated with the search result. FIG. 3 illustrates a block diagram of a process 300 for determining a ranking index from the location of relevant content on a result presentation page on an external page, according to some implementations of the disclosure. The process 300 may be implemented at the electronic device 110. The process 300 is described below with reference to the application environment of FIG. 1.
At block 310, the electronic device 110 may determine first content on the results presentation page 130 associated with the first search result. For example, the first search result may be search result 132. The first content may be content presented on the results presentation page 130 in association with the search results 132. The first content may be content that matches the target search 120 to a higher degree.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, at block 320, the electronic device 110 determines a first location of a first content on an external page associated with a first search result. As an example, the first location may be a starting location of the first content on the external page.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, at block 330, the electronic device 110 determines whether the first location exceeds a threshold location. The threshold position may be a preset position. For example, the threshold position may be the position of the nth word (or row) of the external page, N may be any natural number. If the starting position of the first content on the external page is greater than N words, the first position exceeds the threshold position.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, if at block 330, the electronic device 110 determines that the first location exceeds the threshold location, at block 340, the electronic device 110 may decrease the ranking index of the first search result. In this way, search results of content or summary segments that answer the user's needs at a position very far back on the external page can be ranked and pressed. In this way, the user can be prevented from spending more cost in finding the interesting content on the external page corresponding to the search result.
Several examples of obtaining ranking indicators based on results presentation pages are listed above. It should be appreciated that other information associated with the results presentation page may also be employed to obtain the ranking indicators. Examples of other information include, but are not limited to, a length of stay of the user at a location in the results presentation page 130 corresponding to a certain search result, a number of clicks of the search result on the results presentation page 130 by the user, and so forth. It should be appreciated that the various ways of obtaining ranking indicators based on the results presentation page described herein may be used alone or in combination. The scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this respect.
Returning to fig. 2, in accordance with one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, if the electronic device 110 determines that the category of the target search is a search 230 of multimedia files, in block 210, the electronic device 110 may obtain a ranking index based on the external pages, in block 250. The multimedia file may be, for example, audio, video, image, or other files including multimedia content.
According to one example implementation of the present disclosure, the electronic device 110 may determine, for a first search result of a set of search results, whether a first dwell period of the first external page exceeds a threshold period based on first user behavior information on the first external page associated with the first search result. The electronic device 110 may obtain user behavior information (also referred to as user consumption data) through the embedded data, such as an external page stay time, a reading progress, and the like. It will be understood that "buried point data" herein refers to data embedded in an external page in advance in order to obtain relevant information of the external page. The user behavior data may be pre-acquired based on a variety of means that are currently known and/or that will be developed in the future.
If the electronic device 110 determines that the first dwell time of the external page exceeds the threshold time, the ranking index of the first search result is increased. Alternatively or additionally, if the electronic device 110 determines that the reading progress of the external page exceeds the threshold progress, the ranking index of the first search result is increased. In this way, search results that are of greater interest to the user can be preferentially presented to the user. In particular, for multimedia content such as video, a page where the user may stay longer on an external page is typically an external page that can be normally played. The sorting index of the external pages is improved, so that users can conveniently check multimedia contents such as videos which can be normally played.
According to one example implementation of the present disclosure, electronic device 110 may determine, for a first search result of a set of search results, whether a first quality of a first external page associated with the first search result meets a quality criterion. If the electronic device 110 determines that the first quality does not meet the quality criteria, the electronic device 110 decreases the ranking index of the first search results.
As an example, the quality criteria may indicate a display status of an external page associated with the search results. For example, if the external page is a blank page, the jump is unstable, or cannot be opened, the quality criteria are not met. As another example, if content (e.g., a large number of advertisements or such as objectionable content) that affects the user's reading experience is included on an external page, the quality criteria are not met. The electronic device 110 will decrease the ranking index of the search results corresponding to those external pages that do not meet the quality criteria. The electronic device 110 may determine whether the external page meets the quality criteria by obtaining buried point data on the external page. In this way, the user can be prevented from viewing external pages of poor quality.
As another example, the quality criteria may also indicate a degree of adaptation between the layout of the external page associated with the search results and the terminal device used to render the external page. For example, if the external page is a page suitable for presentation on a computer and the user wants to view the external page on a terminal device such as a mobile phone, the external page is less suitable for the terminal device. Such external pages may lack content or may not load information such as pictures when presented on a terminal device. The electronic device 110 will decrease the ranking index of the search results corresponding to these unsuitable external pages. In this way, the user can be prevented from viewing an unfit external page.
As another example, the quality criteria may indicate structured information of an external page associated with the search results. Taking the search results of the target search 120 as an example of a paper, the resultant information may include author information, chapter information, directory information, update time information, and the like. Taking the search results of the target search 120 as an example of a paper, the structured data may include information about the author of the paper, the number of references, and the like. The electronic device 110 may obtain its structured information by data extraction from an external web page. If the external page has richer structured information or structured data, the electronic device 110 may increase the ranking index of the search results associated with the external page. In this way, a richer and friendly external page can be presented to the user, and richer information can be presented to the user.
Several examples of obtaining ranking indicators based on external pages are listed above. It should be appreciated that other information associated with external pages may also be employed to obtain the ranking indicators. It should be appreciated that the various external page based approaches described herein for deriving ranking indicators may be used alone or in combination. The scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this respect.
In fig. 2, taking a question-and-answer search 220 and a search 230 of multimedia files as examples, several examples of determining ranking indicators using different pages according to category are described. According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, the target search 120 may belong to other categories. For other categories of target searches 120, the ranking index of the search results may be obtained based on the results presentation page or based on external pages, selected according to the actual needs of the user.
It should be appreciated that while in the example of FIG. 2, different page acquisition ranking metrics are shown for different categories of target searches 120, in some implementations, ranking metrics may be determined jointly by the results presentation page 130 and the external page 140 for these categories of target searches 120.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, for a first search result in a set of search results, electronic device 110 may determine one or more ranking metric components based on results presentation page 130 and its corresponding external page, respectively. Electronic device 110 may determine a ranking indicator of the first search result based on the ranking indicator components.
As an example, electronic device 110 may employ equation (1) to determine the ranking index of the first search results:
rank
=w11×expa1+w12×expa2+ … w1n×expan+w21×resa1+w22×resa2+ … +w2m×resam formula (1)
In formula 1, expand 2, …, expand N represent ranking index components determined based on the external page, respectively, w11, w12, …, w1N represent weights of expand 1, expand 2, …, expand N, N represent the number of ranking index components determined based on the external page; respage1, respage, …, respage M respectively represent the ranking index components determined based on the result presentation page 120, w21, w22, …, w2N respectively represent the weights of respage1, respage, …, respage M, and M represents the number of ranking index components determined based on the result presentation page 120.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, the same weights may also be set for different ranking metric components for target search 120. For example, w11, w12, …, w1N and w21, w22, …, w2N may all be set to 1. As another example, w11, w12, …, w1N may be set to a first value and w21, w22, …, w2N may be set to a second value different from the first set.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, different weights may be set for different ranking metric components. As an example, for the question-answer search 220, the weights w11, w12, …, w1N associated with the ranking index components of the external page may be set to smaller values, while the weights w21, w22, …, w2N associated with the ranking index components of the result presentation page are set to larger values.
According to one exemplary implementation of the present disclosure, for the search 230 of multimedia files, the weights w11, w12, …, w1N of the ranking index component associated with the external page may be set to a larger value, while the weights w21, w22, …, w2N of the ranking index component associated with the result presentation page are set to a smaller value.
In this way, a plurality of different features of the result display page and the external page can be comprehensively considered to determine the ranking index of the search result. The determined ordering index can comprehensively reflect the quality of the result display page and the quality of the external page.
By adopting the sorting scheme disclosed by the invention, search results meeting requirements and having better experience can be provided for users. In this way, the results reveal better search results can be concentrated at a position in front of the results reveal page. The user can preferentially see better search results, so that the overall look and feel experience is improved.
