Hooking device for drawer-like elements

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a hooking device for coupling a drawer or the like to a pull-out guide, and in particular to a hooking device of the type that can be fixed to a drawer and hooked to a pull-out guide.

Background

For example, EP 2557963 discloses the following uses of the hooking device: for quick mounting of drawers or the like on pull-out guides fixed to the side walls of the cabinet; in particular, corresponding to each side wall of the drawer, hooking means of this type are fixed on the lower side of the drawer and have manually controllable hooking members which engage in holes or with engagement elements provided in the pull-out guide in the mounted position.

For fixing to the drawer, the hooking means conventionally comprise a body arranged and fixed under the bottom of the drawer, which body extends substantially along a plane parallel to the bottom of the drawer and has a first pair of holes for inserting screws that can be engaged in the bottom itself; furthermore, a front fixing element is provided integral with the body of the device, which extends orthogonally with respect to the plane in which the body itself lies, and has a second pair of holes for inserting screws for fixing the hooking means to the front wall of the drawer, so that the hooking means can be fixed to the front wall and/or to the bottom wall according to the constructive and/or the installability options of the drawer.

In conventional hooking devices, the front fixing element and the relative hole for the screw are located substantially within the overall height of the hooking device, so as to facilitate the insertion and screwing of the screw, the hole in the front fixing element having an axis inclined with respect to the plane in which the body of the device lies, so that the tip of the screw is incident towards the bottom of the drawer.

This hooking device configuration is particularly suitable for assembling drawers having a bottom of a certain thickness, so that it is itself resistant to deformation due to the weight of the objects contained in the drawer; in this case, it is not necessary that the bottom is also supported from the front by the front wall, but it is sufficient to support the side walls and the rear wall of the drawer.

However, this configuration has not proved suitable for drawers having a different structure with a thinner bottom, which therefore also requires a front support obtained by providing a bottom extending into a recess formed in the front wall itself; in fact, if the above-mentioned hooking means are mounted on a drawer-like member of this type by means of screws in the front fixing element, the hooking means mentioned are inclined with respect to the front element and are arranged in proximity to the base of the device body, the screws themselves penetrate and damage the bottom, and there is a risk of: the screw may protrude into the void of the recess formed in the front wall for insertion into the bottom wall, thereby obtaining a less resistant grip.

To date, different types of hooking means are commonly used for such drawer-like structures with a thinner bottom, as shown for example in EP 2611333, which are fixed to the end of the pull-out guide by means of locking pins and hooked to the side walls of the drawer.

However, this type of hooking device with locking pins cannot be used for all types of drawer guides.

There is therefore a need for a hooking device of the type considered which can be fixed to the bottom and/or the front wall of a drawer, which hooking device can also be used for drawers having a structure with a thinner bottom which extends into a recess provided in the front wall of the drawer.

Disclosure of Invention

It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a hooking device of the type: the hooking means can be fixed to the drawer for coupling the drawer to the pull-out guide, can also be used for drawers having a structure with a thinner bottom that extends into a recess provided in the front wall of the drawer, and is simple in construction.

Another object of the invention is to provide a hooking device of the considered type, which can be easily fixed to the drawer as long as the screw that can be engaged in the front wall is easily accessible for screwing the screw, making the installation of the hooking device on the drawer easier and safer.

The above object is achieved by a hooking device for drawers or the like having a front wall, a bottom wall and side walls, comprising:

-a body fixable to the drawer below the bottom wall, the body having a resting base in contact with the bottom wall of the drawer in the mounted condition;

a hooking member, which is movably arranged on the body and can be driven by a manually actuatable driving member, which can be engaged with an engagement element of a pull-out guide for a drawer, and

a front fixing element integral with the body, the front fixing element having a front seating surface for said front wall of the drawer, and at least one hole for inserting a screw that can be engaged in the front wall of the drawer,

wherein the hooking means have an overall height dimension given by the body, the hooking member and/or the driving member with respect to the resting base of the body of the device,

characterized in that the front fixing element has a portion extending beyond said overall height dimension of the hooking means, and

wherein said at least one hole for inserting a screw is at least partially provided at said portion of the front fixing element extending beyond said overall height dimension of the hooking means.

Detailed Description

These figures show a hooking device 10 according to the invention shaped to be fixed to a drawer 11 or similar pull-out element having a front wall 12, a bottom wall 13 and side walls 14, to allow hooking of the drawer 11 to a pull-out guide 15 fixed to the side of a furniture piece.

Specifically, for each drawer 11, there are two hooking means 10 arranged from the front, in correspondence with each side wall 14 of the drawer 11, for coupling the front portion of the drawer 11 to a pull-out guide 15 fixed to the side of the furniture piece, while the rear portion of the drawer 11 is fixed to the pull-out guide 15 by other hooking means of known type; it is not to be excluded that more hooking means may be provided for a wider drawer or a drawer having a specific configuration and/or that these hooking means may be arranged in a different way, for example also in a central position underneath the drawer.

The hooking device 10 comprises a body 16 which can be fixed to the drawer 11 below the bottom wall 13, the body 16 having a seating base 16' which, in the assembled condition, is in contact with the bottom wall 13 of the drawer 11.

The body 16 of the device may be formed of a single part or of multiple parts that are adjustably movable relative to each other to allow adjustment of the position of the drawer relative to the pull-out guide in at least one of a vertical direction, a lateral direction and/or a forward direction, as will be explained later.

The hooking device 10 further comprises a hooking member 17 movably arranged on the body 16, for example formed as a slide with teeth protruding on the longitudinal sides, and which can be driven by a driving member 18, which can be actuated manually, for example a lever 18 swingably supported by the body 16, and which is operatively connected to the hooking member 17, for example by a side arm 18' of the lever 18 itself.

The hooking means 17 can be engaged with an engagement element, such as an opening, a folding wing or other element, provided on the movable portion 15' of the pull-out guide 15 for the drawer.

The hooking device 10 further comprises a front fixing element 19 integral with the body 16, for example formed in one piece with the body 16, or as a separate element fixed to the body 16, for example by means of screws, snap hooking means or other connection means, to allow the fixation according to the invention to be achieved on existing hooking devices without modifying the configuration of the device body.

The front fixing element 19 has a front seating surface 20 which is arranged in contact with the front wall 12 of the drawer 11 in the mounted state of the hooking means 10, and the front fixing element 19 also has at least one hole 21, preferably two holes 21, for inserting corresponding screws 22 which can be engaged in the same front wall 12 of the drawer 11.

The hooking device 10 has an overall height dimension with respect to the resting base 16' of the body 16 of the device 10, which dimension is generally given by the body 16, the hooking member 17 and/or the driving member 18 of the device.

According to the invention, the front fixing element 19 has a portion 19 'which extends beyond the above-mentioned overall height dimension of the hooking means 10, in particular, in the mounted state of the drawer 11 on the pull-out guide 15, the portion 19' extends downwardly beyond the overall dimension of the hooking means 10 in a direction substantially orthogonal with respect to the plane of the main body 16 in which the base 16 'is arranged, so as to move away from the base 16'.

Furthermore, also according to the invention, at least one hole 21 for inserting a screw 22 is provided corresponding at least partially to a portion 19' of the front fixing element 19 which extends beyond the overall height dimension of the hooking device 10.

Preferably, each hole 21 for inserting the screw 22 has an axis X-X inclined with respect to the resting base 16' of the body 16 or, in the mounted condition, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the pull-out guide 15 of the drawer 11, for example from the base 16' and/or from the bottom wall 13 of the drawer, at an acute angle a comprised between 10 and 40 degrees, so as to be incident in a forward direction towards the extension of the resting base 16 '; in this way, the screws 22 that can be engaged in the front wall 12 are easily accessible for screwing, thus making the assembly of the hooking device 10 on the drawer 11 easier and safer.

Since the spacing of the holes 21 for the screws 22 with respect to the mounting base 16' exceeds the overall dimensions of the device, it is also possible according to the invention to mount the hooking device 10 on a drawer-like element having the following structure: the structure has a thinner bottom wall 13, for example a bottom wall having a thickness of between 6mm and 10mm, which extends into a recess 23 provided in the front wall 12 of the drawer 11.

In particular, in the preferred configuration of the holes 21 and screws 22 being inclined, the screws 22 are sufficiently spaced from the recess 23 in the front wall 12 and from the bottom wall 13 when screwed into the front wall 12, in such a way that the screws 22 do not penetrate the bottom wall 13 and do not damage the bottom wall 13, and there is also no risk that the screws may protrude into the interspace formed in the front wall for insertion into the recess 23 of the bottom wall.

Furthermore, since the distance of the hole 21 for the screw 22 relative to the mounting base 16' exceeds the overall size of the device, it is also possible to make the hole 21 non-inclined, since the hole 21 and the screw 22 inserted therein are in any case accessible, allowing the hooking device 10 to be fixed to the front wall 12.

As mentioned above, in order to adjust the drawer 11 relative to the pull-out guide 15, the hooking means 10 can have a body 16 formed of a plurality of parts movable and adjustable with respect to each other.

For example, the body 16 may be formed by a first portion of the body 16 'including the above-described resting base 16' from which protrudes a front fixing element 19, which may be formed in a single piece with the base 16 'in the manner previously described or as a separate element fixed to the base 16', for example by means of screws 24 or other anchoring means.

The body 16 further comprises a second body portion 16", which is slidably connected to the first body portion 16 'and can be adjusted relative to the first body portion, for example in the longitudinal direction of the drawer 11 being pulled out, by means of an adjusting device, for example comprising a longitudinal screw 25 connected to the second body portion 16", and a nut screw 26 which can be manually actuated and is rotatably supported by the first body portion 16' but cannot be axially displaced.

In this case, the above-mentioned hooking member 17 is carried laterally in a sliding manner by the second portion 16 "of the body so as to extend on the side of the hooking means 10 intended to rotate towards the pull-out guide 15. In order for the hooking member 17 to be actuated by hand, the lever 18 is arranged to oscillate about a pin 27 extending from the second portion 16 "of the body.

The hooking means 10 can also be provided with means for adjusting the height of the drawer, for example in the form of wedge elements 28 carried laterally in sliding manner by the second portion 16 of the body and which can be actuated manually by gripping the wings 29.

The hooking means 10 can also provide lateral adjustment means, for example an adjustment element 30, which is slidably supported by the second body portion 16″ in a lateral direction and which can be adjusted by a screw-nut mechanism with a wheel 31, which adjustment element 30 can be engaged with the movable portion 15' of the pull-out guide 15.

As described above, according to an embodiment, the at least one hole 21 for inserting the screw 22 has an axis X-X inclined with respect to the seating base 16'.

According to another embodiment, said at least one hole 21 has an axis X-X inclined and incident with respect to the extension of said seating base 16' so as to form an acute angle a between the at least one hole and the seating base, for example comprised between 10 and 40 degrees, preferably 20 degrees.

Thanks to the at least one hole 21, with respect to the axis X-X of inclination of the seating base 16', it is also possible to assemble the hooking device 10 on a drawer-like element having the following structure: the structure has a thinner bottom wall 13, for example a bottom wall having a thickness of between 6mm and 10mm, which extends into a recess 23 provided in the front wall 12 of the drawer 11, to prevent at least one screw 22 received in said at least one hole 21 from interfering with said recess 23.

The scope of the invention also includes furniture pieces comprising a body or base frame with a lateral or side structure to which the pull-out guide is fixed, and drawer-like pieces of the type considered, which are fixed from the front to the pull-out guide by means of the hooking means 10 according to the invention.

As is apparent from the above, the hooking device according to the present invention achieves the above object, since it can be used for drawer-like elements having the following configuration: this construction has a thinner bottom that extends into a recess provided in the front wall of the drawer, and the hooking means is simple in construction, requiring limited modifications compared to conventional hooking means.

Furthermore, the hooking device according to the invention can be easily fixed to the drawer as long as the screw that can be engaged in the front wall is easily accessible for screwing the screw, making the assembly of the hooking device on the drawer easier and safer.

The hooking device according to the invention is in any case susceptible to modifications and variants falling within the scope of the inventive concept; furthermore, the constructional details may be replaced by technically equivalent elements.

Claims

1. A hooking device (10) for a drawer (11) or the like, the drawer having a front wall (12), a bottom wall (13) and side walls (14), the hooking device (10) comprising:

-a body (16) fixable to the drawer (11) below the bottom wall (13), the body (16) having a seating base (16') which, in the mounted condition, is in contact with the bottom wall (13) of the drawer (11),

-a hooking member (17) movably arranged on the body (16) and drivable by a driving member (18), the driving member (18) being hand-actuatable, the hooking member (17) being engageable with an engagement element for a pull-out guide (15) of the drawer, and

-a front fixing element (19) integral with the body (16), the front fixing element (19) having a front seating surface (20) for the front wall (12) of the drawer (11), and at least one hole (21) for the insertion of a screw (22) engageable in the front wall (12) of the drawer (11),

wherein the hooking device (10) has an overall height dimension given by the body (16), the hooking member (17) and/or the driving member (18) with respect to the seating base (16') of the body (16) of the device (10),

characterized in that the front fixing element (19) has a portion (19') extending beyond the overall height dimension of the hooking means (10), and

wherein the at least one hole (21) for the insertion of the screw (22) is at least partially provided at the portion (19') of the front fixing element (19) extending beyond the overall height dimension of the hooking device (10).

2. The hooking device (10) according to claim 1, characterized in that said at least one hole (21) for the insertion of the screw (22) has an axis X-X inclined with respect to the seating base (16 ') of the body (16), said axis X-X of the hole (21) being inclined in a forward direction along an extension towards the seating base (16') of the body (16).

The hooking device (10) according to claim 2, characterized in that said axis X-X is inclined at an acute angle a between 10 and 40 degrees with respect to the extension of the seating base (16 '), preferably said axis X-X is inclined at an acute angle a of 20 degrees with respect to the extension of the seating base (16').

4. The hooking device (10) according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the front fixing element (19) is formed in one piece with the body (16) or the front fixing element (19) is formed as a separate element fixed to the body (16) by means of screws (24), snap hooking means or other connecting means.

5. The hooking device (10) according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the body (16) is formed by a single part or the body (16) is formed by a plurality of parts that can be moved in an adjustable manner with respect to each other.

6. A furniture piece, the furniture piece comprising:

a body having sides for fixing a pull-out guide (15) of the drawer,

-a drawer (11) having a front wall (12), a bottom wall (13) and side walls (14), the drawer (11) being fixed from the front to the pull-out guide (15) by means of a hooking device (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the hooking device (10) is fixed to the front wall (12) of the drawer (11).
