However, it is to be noted that the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments, but is applicable to more other wireless communication systems. Unless otherwise specified, the concepts of cell and base station may be interchanged in this disclosure; the LTE system is also used to refer to the LTE system of 5G and beyond (e.g. referred to as the LTE system, or LTE system that can be connected to a 5G core network), and LTE may be replaced by Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) or Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access network (E-UTRAN). In the present disclosure, the RRC inactive state may also correspond to an RRC idle state in which an RRC connection in the LTE system is suspended. Cancellation, release, deletion, cleanup, and the like may be substituted. Execution, use, and application are alternatives. Configuration and reconfiguration may be alternative. Links and connections may be replaced. Monitoring (monitor) and detection (detect) may be replaced.
The following presents a simplified summary of the prior art to which embodiments of the present disclosure relate.
Secondary cell groups SCG and PSCell under DC
In a DC scenario, the UE may acquire radio resources through two base stations simultaneously. One of them is a Master Node (MN), which is a base station where the UE maintains RRC connection and is accessed through an initial access procedure or a handover procedure; another, referred to as a Secondary Node (SN), may provide additional radio resources for the UE. For a UE, a MN may include one or more serving cells, called Master Cell Group (MCG), which includes a primary Cell (PCell); the SN may also include one or more serving cells, referred to as a Secondary Cell Group (SCG), which includes a primary Secondary Cell Group Cell and/or a primary Secondary Cell PSCell. The PCell and PSCell may also be collectively referred to as a special cell spCell. In the present disclosure, SN and SCG, PSCell may be replaced, and MN and MCG, PCell may be replaced. SN add/change/release, SCG add/change/release, MR-DC add/change/release, PSCell add/change/release may be replaced to some extent.
Mobility information reporting mechanism among existing mechanisms:
in the current LTE system and the NR system of release 16, the UE records Mobility History Information (MHI), which is also referred to as Mobility Information or Mobility History report in the present disclosure. The MHI records change information of a serving Cell/Primary Cell (PCell)) experienced by the UE. The network side can acquire the moving track of the UE and determine the moving speed of the UE to a certain extent by acquiring the MHI of the UE. The network side can perform more optimized configuration by combining the acquired information when deciding the mobility operation of the UE, such as the configuration of the switching parameters and the selection of the switching target cell, thereby ensuring the mobility performance of the UE.
When a serving cell/primary cell change occurs to a UE in an RRC idle state and an RRC connected state, an entry (entry) is added to a UE variable varmobility historyreport, a cell identity (global cell identity or physical cell identity and carrier frequency of a cell) of a previous serving cell/PCell is recorded in a visitedCellId information element, and a time (identified by a timeSpent information element) staying/spending in the cell is included. In the LTE system, when the UE enters the E-UTRA, if it is in the out of service state or uses another Access Technology (RAT), the UE will also add an entry in the variable varmobility historyreport, and record that the UE is outside the E-UTRA in the timeout information element therein. Here, E-UTRA includes out of service status or other RAT. In the NR system, when the UE enters a normal camping state (cached normal state) or E-UTRA, if it was previously in an "any cell selection" or "cached on any cell" state of LTE or NR, the UE adds an entry in the variable VarMobilityHistoryReport, and sets the time elapsed in which the timesopt element is in the "any cell selection" or "cached on any cell" state of LTE or NR. The maximum number of entries of the MHI saved by the UE is defined in the 3GPP protocol, for example, 16, and when the UE performs the operation of adding a new entry, if the number of the saved entries reaches the maximum value, the UE deletes the oldest entry of the saved MHI entries before adding the new entry.
If the UE in the RRC connected state supports saving of the MHI and there is an available MHI in the VarMobilityHistoryReport variable, the UE includes an indication (mobilityhistoryavailable information element) in an uplink RRC message (such as RRC connection setup complete, RRC connection recovery complete, and RRC link reconfiguration complete) for informing the base station that it has the saved MHI, and sets the value of the information element to TRUE. And the UE reports the stored MHI to the base station in the subsequent UE information process. Specifically, the base station requests the UE to report the saved MHI by carrying a mobilityHistoryReport information element set as TRUE in the UEInformationRequest message, and the UE includes the relevant mobile history information in the mobilityHistoryReport information element in the responsive UEInformationResponse message and reports to the base station. When generating the mobilityHistoryReport information element in the UEInformationResponse message, the UE, in addition to including all entries related to the historical cells in the stored UE variable VarMobilityHistoryReport in the mobilityHistoryReport information element, newly creates an entry in the information element to record the current cell information, that is, sets the visitedCellId information element of the entry as the cell identifier of the current cell and sets the timeframe information element as the elapsed time in the current cell.
The cell information in the existing mechanism is for the serving cell in idle state or RRC inactive state or the PCell in RRC connected state. In the DC scenario in the LTE/NR system, the UE simultaneously performs the mobility of the PSCell in addition to the mobility of the PCell. For a change of PSCell, the secondary base station SN may initiate a change of PSCell by itself without the involvement of the primary base station MN. Firstly, in the existing MHI mechanism, an SN cannot acquire the MHI of a PCell/serving cell; secondly, considering the difference of network deployment situations of MN and SN (for example, in the EN-DC scenario, MN and SN are different RATs), even though SN may obtain MHI of PCell/serving cell from MN, SN may not obtain helpful information from MHI because SN lacks network deployment information for relevant PCell/serving cell, such as cell range size. In view of the above, one possible method is to enhance the MHI, where the enhancement includes that the UE records the MHI for the SCG PSCell, and the MHI may be reported to the MN for parameter optimization when the PSCell is added/changed triggered by the MN, or may be reported to the SN by the MN for PSCell selection or parameter optimization when the PSCell is changed triggered by the SN. For convenience of description, in the present disclosure, the MHI in the existing mechanism is referred to as M-MHI, and the MHI of the PSCell recorded based on the PSCell change is referred to as S-MHI.
In the current 3GPP conclusions, the S-MHI and M-MHI of a UE are not stored or reported as two independent UE variables, but rather, the S-MHI and M-MHI are associated together and stored in the same UE variable, such as VarMobilityHistoryReport. The related reporting mode of the S-MHI and the M-MHI enables a network side to acquire the relation between each PCell and each PScell experienced by the UE, for example, the PCell corresponding to a certain PScell is the cell, so that more accurate movement information or movement track is obtained. One implementation manner a is that, each time the PSCell is changed, the UE creates a new entry, records the identity of the PSCell, its corresponding PCell, and the time that it stays in the PSCell or PCell, that is, each entry only contains the identity of one PSCell and the identity of one PCell at most. Another implementation B is that each entry contains only one PCell and zero or several PSCell sub-entries. The sub-entries of several pscells are sub-entries corresponding to one or more pscells experienced by the UE when the UE is in the PCell, and the sub-entries include the time of stay of the UE in the PSCell. The present disclosure is directed to a second implementation. Under the implementation method, in order to record the information of the PSCell, for a PCell, when the UE adds a PSCell for the first time in the PCell or performs a change of the PSCell for the first time, the UE needs to record the PSCell information before the addition or the change of the PSCell, and a feasible method is that the UE creates an entry of the PCell in a UE variable VarMobilityHistoryReport for recording MHI and records the addition or the change of the PSCell. However, if the UE receives a request from the network side for reporting the MHI, according to the mechanism of the existing system, the UE creates a new entry for the current cell PCell in addition to the content of the UE variable corresponding to the MHI in the MobilityHistoryReport in the UEInformationResponse message, where the new entry is used to include the cell identifier of the PCell and the time staying in the PCell. In this case, the current primary cell entry may be duplicated in the aforementioned manner. As shown in fig. 1, the current serving PCell of the UE is PCell1, the PSCell a is added when the UE enters PCell1, and then the PSCell a is changed to PSCell B after the PSCell change, at which time the UE adds a new entry in its UE variable VarMobilityHistoryReport for saving MHI when the PSCell is changed, in which PCell1 and PSCell a and the time spent in PSCell a and PCell1 are recorded. When the PSCell of the UE is PSCell B, if it receives UE information request information that the network side requests it to report MHI, according to the existing mechanism, the UE, except for including the content in the UE variable VarMobilityHistoryReport storing MHI in the mobilityHistoryReport to be reported, creates a new entry for the current cell PCell1 in the mobilityHistoryReport, and records the information of the PCell 1. Because the entry of the PCell1 is already in the UE variable VarMobilityHistoryReport, the mobility historatyrereport information element actually reported by the UE includes two entries of the current cell PCell1, which causes duplication, and the base station needs to combine the two entries after receiving the report to obtain the mobility information of the current cell PCell and the corresponding PSCell, which brings some complexity. The present disclosure proposes a solution based on this problem. Unlike PCell, the PSCell of a UE is not always present. In some cases, for example, when the traffic of the UE in the RRC connected state is small, the network side may select to release the SCG of the UE or not configure the SCG, so that the UE is in the single-connection state, and at this time, the UE does not have the configured PSCell. The case where the PSCell configuration is discontinuous is also considered in this disclosure. In addition, when the serving cell of the UE that records the S-MHI is in the connected state is a base station earlier than release 17, such as release 16, the base station does not support the UE to report the mobility history information containing the S-MHI, and if the UE already records the MHI associated with the previous PCell cell or the current PCell, how the UE reports the mobility history information of the current PCell is also a concern of the present disclosure.
The following are embodiments of the present disclosure performed on a UE based on the above-described problems. Fig. 2 is a flow chart of a method performed by a user equipment according to embodiments 1-3.
Example 1
The embodiment provides an MHI reporting method of a UE under the condition that the UE is configured with a DC and supports MHI of a PSCell. According to the method disclosed by the invention, when the MHI implementation mode B is applied, the problem of repeated reporting of the MHI information of the current cell can be avoided when the UE reports the MHI, the signaling overhead is reduced, and the complexity caused by analyzing the repeated MHI by a network side is reduced.
As shown in fig. 2, the method comprises the following steps:
step 1: the UE receives a UEInformationRequest message from the network side, where the UEInformationRequest message includes an indication for requesting the UE to report the MHI (e.g., mobility historyreportreq is set to True). Optionally, the indication enables the UE to report mobile history information MHI including the S-MHI.
Step 2: when the UE generates a response to the UEInformationResponse message of the network side, the UE performs one or more of the following operations:
-containing the mobilityInformationReport information element and setting it as an entry in a UE variable (e.g. varmobilityihistoryreport) containing the saved movement history information; the mobility information report information element is used to contain the mobility history information of the UE reported to the network side, and here, the name of the information element is only an example and is not limited thereto.
-determining if the current PCell is the same as the PCell in the last entry in the UE variable holding the mobility history information;
■ If so, the UE performs one or more of the following in the last entry of the mobilityInformationReport information element:
contain the time information spent in the current PCell (e.g., set the timespen information element as the time spent in the current PCell);
a sub-entry for recording the current PSCell information is added, in which the cell identity of the PSCell or the time spent in the PSCell is contained. The time spent in the PSCell refers to the time spent in the PSCell by the UE in the PCell corresponding to the PSCell. Considering the case that the UE is not configured with the PSCell at this time, the sub-entry added by the UE for recording PSCell information at this time does not include any PSCell cell identifier, but only includes one time information for recording the time when the UE is not configured with the PSCell.
■ If not, the UE includes a new entry for the current PCell in the mobilityInformationReport information element, and performs one or more of the following in the entry:
cell identity containing the current PCell;
contain the time information spent in the current PCell (e.g., set the timespen information element as the time spent in the current PCell);
a sub-entry for recording the current PSCell information is added, in which the cell identity of the PSCell or the time spent in the PSCell is contained. Optionally, adding a sub-entry for recording the current PSCell information is only performed when the UE is enabled to report S-MHI. Optionally, consider a case that the UE is not configured with a PSCell at this time, the sub-entry added by the UE for recording PSCell information at this time does not include any PSCell cell identifier, but only includes one time information for recording the time when the UE is not configured with a PSCell.
The UE determines whether the current PCell is the same as the PCell in the last entry in the UE variable that stores the movement history information, based on the cell identity or the cell frequency.
And step 3: and the UE sends a UE information response message to the network side, wherein the UE information response message comprises the mobile history information generated in the step 2.
Example 2
The embodiment provides an MHI reporting method of a UE under the condition that the UE is configured with a DC and supports MHI of a PSCell. According to the method disclosed by the disclosure, when the MHI implementation mode B is applied, if the network side does not support the MHI including the S-MHI (for example, the network side is the base station of version 16), when the UE reports the MHI, the problem of repeatedly reporting the MHI information of the current cell can be avoided, and the problem caused by the repeated MHI of the current cell being erroneously analyzed by the network side is also avoided while the signaling overhead is reduced.
As shown in fig. 2, the method comprises the following steps:
step 1: the UE receives a UEInformationRequest message from the network side, which includes an indication for requesting the UE to report the MHI (i.e., mobility historyreport req is set to True). The indication is to indicate that the UE reports the mobile history information MHI not including the S-MHI, i.e. the mobile history information MHI of release 16 including only the PCell.
And 2, step: when the UE generates a response to the UE information response message of the network side, the UE performs one or more of the following operations:
-containing the mobilityInformationReport information element and setting it as an entry in a UE variable (e.g. varmobilityihistoryreport) containing the saved movement history information; optionally, in this operation, the mobility information report information element is set to include an entry in a UE variable (e.g., varmobility historyreport) that stores the movement history information, where the entry does not include all sub-entries in the UE variable for recording the movement history information of the PSCell, that is, only includes the content of the UE variable for recording the PCell movement history information. The mobility information report information element is used to contain the mobility history information of the UE reported to the network side, and here, the name of the information element is only an example and is not limited thereto.
-determining whether the PCell in the last entry in the UE variable holding the movement history information is the same cell as the current PCell; if so, the UE deletes the last entry in the mobilityInformationReport information element.
-including a new entry for the current PCell in the mobilityInformationReport information element, and performing one or more of the following in the entry: including a cell identity of the current PCell; including time information of stay in the current PCell (e.g., setting a timeout information element to the time of stay in the current PCell);
-deleting all sub-entries in the mobilityInformationReport information element for recording PSCell movement history information.
And 3, step 3: and the UE sends a UE information response message to the network side, wherein the UE information response message comprises the mobile history information generated in the step 2.
Example 3
The embodiment provides an MHI reporting method of a UE under the condition that the UE is configured with a DC and supports MHI of a PSCell. According to the method disclosed by the invention, when the MHI implementation mode B is applied, if the network side does not support the MHI including the S-MHI (for example, the network side is a base station of version 16), the problem of repeated reporting of the MHI information of the current cell can be avoided when the UE reports the MHI, and the problem caused by the fact that the network side wrongly analyzes the repeated MHI of the current cell is also avoided while the signaling overhead is reduced.
As shown in fig. 2, the method comprises the following steps:
step 1: the UE receives a UEInformationRequest message from the network side, which includes an indication for requesting the UE to report the mobile history information MHI (i.e., mobility historyreportreq is set to True). The indication is to indicate that the UE reports the mobile history information MHI that does not contain the S-MHI, i.e. the mobile history information MHI that contains only the PCell in release 16.
The mobility information report information element is used to contain the mobility history information of the UE reported to the network side, and the name of the information element is only an example and is not limited thereto.
-determining whether the PCell in the last entry in the UE variable holding the movement history information is the same cell as the current PCell; if so, the last entry in the mobility information report information element of the UE contains the time information staying in the current PCell (e.g., the timestamp information element is set to be the time staying in the current PCell);
-deleting all sub-entries in the mobilityInformationReport information element for recording PSCell movement history information.
