The present disclosure relates to, but not limited to, the field of wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for setting an event report allowable area, a communication device, and a storage medium.
Background
In the third Generation Partnership project (3 rd Generation Partnership project,3 gpp) standard, location services functionality should be supported to allow for the development of new and innovative location-based services. For example, the current location of a User Equipment (UE) can be identified and reported in a standard format (e.g., geographic coordinates) and made available to the User, mobile Equipment (ME), network operator, service provider, value added service provider, and Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) intra-operator.
The location is provided to identify possible locations of particular MEs; the location may be used for charging, location-based services, lawful interception, emergency calls, location services, and the like.
In some scenarios it is desirable for the UE to track the location of the UE when it is in a predefined set of areas, for example when the UE is in a metropolitan area or a campus. To support tracking of the location of the UE in the predefined area, an event report allowed area (event reported allowed area) may be introduced; and the problem of setting an event report allowance area in the UE is not solved in the related art.
