Description

Method, apparatus, system and medium for terminal discovery and connection to access device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of wireless communications, and in particular, to a method, an apparatus, a system, and a medium for a terminal to discover and connect to an access device.
Background
802.11be networks, also known as Extreme High Throughput (EHT) networks, are enhanced by a range of system features and a variety of mechanisms to achieve very High Throughput. As the use of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to provide wireless data services in many environments, such as homes, businesses, and hot spots. In particular, video traffic will continue to be the dominant type of traffic in many WLAN deployments. With the advent of 4k and 8k video (uncompressed rates of 20 Gbps), the throughput requirements for these applications are constantly evolving. New high throughput, low latency applications such as virtual reality or augmented reality, gaming, remote offices, and cloud computing will proliferate (e.g., latency for real-time gaming is less than 5 milliseconds).
In view of the high throughput and stringent real-time latency requirements of these applications, users expect higher throughput, higher reliability, less latency and jitter, and higher power efficiency when supporting their applications over a WLAN. Users desire improved integration with Time Sensitive Networks (TSNs) to support applications on heterogeneous ethernet and wireless LANs. 802.11be networks aim to ensure the competitiveness of WLANs by further increasing overall throughput and reducing latency, while ensuring backward compatibility and coexistence with legacy technology standards. 802.11 compatible devices operating in the 2.4GHz,5GHz and 6GHz bands.
Disclosure of Invention
When a terminal is connected to an access device, the terminal may request multiple pieces of Link information of the access device through a probe request message (e.g., a probe request message), and in an existing solution, the probe request message includes a Multi Link element information element including Link information to be acquired, however, when an actual network is deployed, the probe request message used by the terminal is a broadcast message (e.g., a beacon message) that is not read to the access device, a system message of the access device is acquired through the probe request message, and before receiving a probe response message (e.g., a probe response message), the terminal cannot know the system message of the access device, and naturally cannot know a system message such as a Link identifier (Link ID) configured when the access device is a Multi-Link device (i.e., a device having a capability of operating on multiple links at the same time). Fig. 1 is a flowchart of a method for a terminal to discover and connect to an access device according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 1, the method for a terminal to discover and connect to an access device includes the following steps:
s101, a terminal sends a detection request message to access equipment, wherein the detection request message indicates that system information of all links is requested to be obtained.
Specifically, the terminal may include a parameter for instructing to request to obtain system information of all links in the probe request message, or may include a multilink information element (e.g., a Multi link element information element) in the probe request message, where the multilink information element includes a parameter for instructing to request to obtain system information of all links, or includes the multilink information element, that is, instructs to request to obtain system information of all links in the probe request message, and does not need to include the parameter for instructing to request to obtain system information of all links in the multilink information element. The embodiment of the present invention does not limit the specific manner of indicating the request to obtain the system information of all links.
In some embodiments, the multilink information element includes multilink control parameters, multilink common information, and individual information of different links. At this time, a first parameter indicating that system information of all links is requested to be obtained may be included in the multilink common information included in the multilink information element in the probe request message. Optionally, the specific information of different links included in the multilink information element in the probe request message includes a link identifier, and when a value of the link identifier is set to a preset value, it indicates that system information of all links is requested to be obtained. Illustratively, the predetermined value is a maximum value that can be represented by the number of bits of the link identifier in the specific information of the different links included in the multilink information element in the probe request message.
Optionally, the multilink control parameter in the multilink information element includes a type of the multilink information element, and indicates whether the multilink common information includes an address of the device, where the type of the multilink information element is selected from: a basic multilink information element; a proprietary information element for probe request messages; a proprietary information element for the connection request message; a proprietary information element for the connection response message.
S102, after receiving the detection request message, the access device sends a detection response message to the terminal, wherein the detection response message comprises system information of all links.
After receiving the probe request message, the access device constructs a probe response message according to the information in the probe request message, the probe response message contains the system information of all links, and sends the probe response message to the terminal.
In some embodiments, a Multi-link information element (e.g., multi-link element information element) is included in the probe response message, and system information of all links except the currently operating link is included in the proprietary information of different links included in the Multi-link information element. Alternatively, the system information of all links requested by the terminal may be included in the proprietary information of different links included in the multilink information element.
S103, the terminal establishes connection with the access equipment.
The process of establishing connection between the terminal and the access device may refer to the establishment process in the prior art. In some embodiments, the process of establishing connection between the terminal and the access device includes:
the terminal sends a connection request message (such as an association request message) to the access device, where the connection request message includes a multilink information element, where proprietary information of different links included in the multilink information element includes information of a logical terminal on a link of the terminal except a current operating link, and the information of the logical terminal includes a link identifier, capability information of the logical terminal, and requested operating information. Optionally, whether to request to establish a connection may also be indicated in the information of the logical terminal. In some embodiments, when the link identifier in the information of the logical terminal is set to a preset value, the information of the logical terminal is only provided, but the logical terminal does not establish a connection with the access device. Illustratively, the preset value is the maximum value that the number of bits of the link identifier in the information of the logical terminal can represent.
After receiving the connection request message, the access device sends a connection response message (such as an association response message) to the terminal, where the connection response message also includes a multilink information element, where proprietary information of different links included in the multilink information element includes information of a logical access point on a link of the access device except a current operating link, and the information of the logical access point includes a link identifier, capability information of the logical access point, and requested operating information, and indicates whether to establish a connection.
The terminal receives the connection response message, and if the connection response message indicates that the request is accepted, the connection is successful; if the connection response message indicates a rejection of the request, the connection fails.
For a better understanding of the present invention, the present invention is further described below in conjunction with a specific application scenario. In the specific application, the access device is an access point, the terminal STA MLD has three logical terminals STA1, STA2, and STA3, and the access point AP MLD has three logical access points AP1, AP2, and AP3.
