Detailed Description
Reference will now be made in detail to exemplary embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers will be used throughout the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.
Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of a keyboard device according to an embodiment of the invention. Fig. 2 is an exploded view of a portion of the components of the keyboard apparatus of fig. 1, only a partial set of keys being shown here as an example. Referring to fig. 1 and fig. 2, in the present embodiment, the keyboard apparatus 100 with a display panel is, for example, adapted to a notebook computer, but not limited thereto. The keyboard apparatus 100 includes a substrate 140, scissor assemblies 130, an elastic member 150, a display panel 110, and a plurality of light-transmissive (transparent) keycaps 120. The scissor assembly 130 is movably disposed on the base 140. The elastic member 150 is disposed on the substrate 140. The display panel 110 rests on the scissor assemblies 130 and the elastic members 150. The display panel 110 has a plurality of hollow portions 114, a plurality of elastic portions 112a, and a plurality of display surfaces 111. Each display surface 111 is surrounded by a plurality of hollow portions 114, and each display surface 111 is suspended between the plurality of hollow portions 114 through a plurality of elastic portions 112 a. The transparent key caps 120 are disposed on the display panel 110 and respectively cover the display surface 111.
Moreover, the substrate 140 of the present embodiment includes a bottom plate 142 and a thin film circuit 141, which are inserted into each other in structure, so that the scissor assemblies 130 on the substrate 140 are movably connected to the bottom plate 142, and the elastic element 150 is disposed on the thin film circuit 141 to correspond to the triggering portion 141a of the thin film circuit 141 (shown in fig. 4, which is described in detail later). Here, the elastic member 150 is, for example, a rubber dome (rubber dome) or other elastic dome (metal dome) or elastic component suitable for generating elastic deformation during a pressing stroke, so as to support and reposition the display panel 110 and the transparent key cap 120 thereon. The scissor assembly 130 includes a pair of brackets 131 pivotally mounted on the bottom plate 142 of the substrate 140 and pivotally connected to each other, and a top plate 132 pivotally connected to the brackets 131 and supported by the brackets 131, wherein a portion of the display panel 110 having the display surface 111 is located between the top plate 132 and the transparent key cap 120.
Fig. 3 shows the display panel of fig. 2 from another perspective, such as a bottom side of the display panel 110 from a side-down perspective. Referring to fig. 2 and fig. 3, in the present embodiment, the display panel 110 has a base 112 and a plurality of plateau portions 113 raised relative to the base 112, wherein the base 112 surrounds the plateau portions 113 arranged in an array, each plateau portion 113 has a display surface 111, and each plateau portion 113 is connected to another plateau portion 113 or the base 112 through a plurality of elastic portions 112 a. Here, the display panel 110 is, for example, an electronic paper (E-paper) or a display module having an electronic ink (E-ink), and adopts a polymer composite material having flexibility, elasticity and ductility as a main external structure, for example, a polymer composite material including PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is used as a basic structure for carrying and encapsulating the electronic ink or a related display layer material, and the material characteristics thereof can be utilized to facilitate the pressing process in the present embodiment. For example, due to the above material characteristics, the display panel 110 of the present embodiment can be formed with the plateau 113 whose contour conforms to the inner contour of the transparent key cap 120, so that the display surface 111 can contact the inner top surface of the transparent key cap 120. This represents that the image generated by the display surface 111 can be projected out of the keyboard apparatus 100 through the light-transmissive key cap 120 without obstruction.
Fig. 4 is a partial cross-sectional view of the keyboard apparatus of fig. 1. Referring to fig. 2, fig. 3 and fig. 4, in the present embodiment, it can be clearly seen from fig. 4 that the corresponding relationship among the substrate 140, the scissor-leg assembly 130 and the elastic member 150 is shown, wherein as shown in fig. 2, the top plate 132 of the scissor-leg assembly 130 has an opening to expose the elastic member 150 and allow the elastic member 150 to abut against the back surface of the display panel 110 through the opening. When the transparent key cap 120 is pressed, the support 131 is driven and the elastic element 150 is elastically deformed, wherein the elastic element 150 presses the triggering portion 141a by a conductive portion (not shown) of the elastic element to generate electrical conduction, so that the thin film circuit 141 generates a command signal corresponding to the pressed transparent key cap 120. Once the transparent key cap 120 is no longer pressed, the elastic element 150 can drive the transparent key cap 120 to reset by its elastic force, and the conductive portion thereof is moved away from the triggering portion 141a and restored to the position shown in fig. 4. It should be noted that, in order to improve contrast and facilitate identification, fig. 4 only provides an illustration of a light-transmissive key cap 120 in the cut-away keyboard apparatus 100, and does not illustrate the light-transmissive feature of another light-transmissive key cap 120 (not cut away) adjacent thereto.
Furthermore, the display panel 110 further has a plurality of connecting wires 115, which are substantially disposed on the base portion 112 and the elastic portion 112a, extend to the display surfaces 111 located at the plateau portion 113, and are electrically connected between the display surfaces 111 through the elastic portion 112 a. In other words, the portion of the display panel 110 not having the display surface 111 can be used as a structure for carrying and passing the connecting wires 115.
In addition, referring to fig. 2 and fig. 4, in the present embodiment, when the transparent key cap 120 is assembled to the display panel 110 to cover the display surface 111, the turning corners 121 of the transparent key cap 120 are respectively supported on the elastic portions 112a, and parts of the bottom edges 122 of the transparent key cap 120 are respectively located on the hollow portions 114. Accordingly, due to the hollow portion 114, the transparent key cap 120 is only pressed against the elastic portion 112a corresponding to the turning corner 121. As shown in fig. 2 or fig. 3, four bottom side edges 122 of each light-transmitting keycap 120 correspond to the four hollow portions 114, and four turning corners 121 correspond to the four elastic portions 112a, and in the process of pressing the light-transmitting keycap 120, for the display panel 110, it is equivalent that the display surface 111 is stretched and elastically deformed by the four elastic portions 112a to generate a height change relative to the base portion 112. When the force applied to press the transparent key cap 120 is removed, the display surface 111 is reset to the state shown in fig. 2 by the elastic force of the elastic portion 112a, and thus, in addition to the elastic member 150, the display panel 110 can provide the same effect by the elastic portion 112 a. Therefore, designers can adjust the elastic coefficients of the two components according to requirements, thereby providing better pressing hand feeling for users.
Fig. 5 is a schematic view of a display panel according to another embodiment of the invention. Referring to fig. 5 and comparing fig. 2, the same as the previous embodiment is that the display panel 210 has a plurality of hollow portions 214, a plurality of elastic portions 212a and a plurality of display surfaces 211, but the difference is that the base portion 212 of the present embodiment is coplanar with the display surfaces 211 and the elastic portions 212a, that is, the display panel 210 is a monolithic structure without height difference, which is equivalent to the display panel 210 of the present embodiment that only needs to be punched to form a plurality of hollow portions 214 and a plurality of elastic portions 212a, and as with the previous embodiment, the connecting wires 215 can still be distributed on the base portion 212 and the elastic portions 212a to electrically connect the display surfaces 211, and meanwhile, the right protruding portion can be used to connect with other electronic components. For example, in the notebook computer shown in fig. 1, the keyboard device can be electrically connected to the main board through the connecting wire 215 by the right protruding portion shown in fig. 5, so as to control the image to be displayed on the keyboard device, and the user can redefine the image required to be generated by the display surfaces 211 according to the use environment and the requirement.
In summary, in the above embodiments of the present invention, the keyboard apparatus with a display panel is configured to form a plurality of hollow portions, a plurality of elastic portions and a plurality of display surfaces on the display panel by disposing the display panel with a plurality of display surfaces, wherein each display surface surrounds the plurality of hollow portions, each display surface is suspended between the plurality of hollow portions through the plurality of elastic portions, and the plurality of transparent keycaps are respectively disposed on the display panel to cover the corresponding display surfaces. Therefore, the image generated by the display panel is transmitted upwards and projected out of the keyboard through the transparent keycap so as to provide characters or patterns which are needed by a user and are easy to identify.
Meanwhile, as the display surfaces are suspended among the hollow parts through the elastic parts, when the transparent keycaps of the keyboard device are pressed, the elastic parts are driven to generate elastic deformation, namely, the elastic parts of the display panel can provide functions except display besides the elastic parts, so that the display panel and the transparent keycaps thereon are provided with required supporting and resetting effects by combining the elastic parts, and the hand feeling of a user when the user presses the keyboard device is further enhanced.
In different embodiments, the display panel may form the hollow portion and the elastic portion by punching due to the characteristics of the main structural materials, or may further generate a plateau portion protruding relative to the base portion in addition to the hollow portion and the elastic portion by punching, so that the profile of the plateau portion can conform to the inner bottom profile of the transparent keycap, which is also equivalent to contacting the display surface with the inner top surface of the transparent keycap, and the image of the display surface can be directly projected from the transparent keycap.
Finally, it should be noted that: the above embodiments are only used to illustrate the technical solution of the present invention, and not to limit the same; while the invention has been described in detail and with reference to the foregoing embodiments, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that: the technical solutions described in the foregoing embodiments may still be modified, or some or all of the technical features may be equivalently replaced; and the modifications or the substitutions do not make the essence of the corresponding technical solutions depart from the scope of the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention.
