本公开涉及能力获取方法,适用于基站,所述方法包括:获取终端的能力信息;其中,所述能力信息用于指示所述终端是否具有多面板波束协同管理能力;所述多面板波束协同管理能力是指终端能够确定使用第一面板与基站通信时备用的第二面板。根据本公开,基站根据能力信息可以确定终端是否具有多面板波束协同管理能力。在终端具有该能力的情况下,就可以确定终端能够在使用第一面板与基站通信时,确定备用的第二面板,以便后续在与第一面板的通信质量不满足要求时,能够指示终端启用第二面板进行通信,使得终端能够快速地启动第二面板,而无需终端在所有面板中确定合适的面板。有利于终端快速启动合适的面板进行通信,降低通信时延,节约功耗。
