Description
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of digital set top boxes, and particularly relates to a method for quickly acquiring EPG data by a digital television set top box.
Background
The television industry has brought from analog television to digital television to a new business form, wherein EPG (Electronic Program Guide ) is an important new business. The user can select the favorite multicast channels by utilizing the menu provided by the EPG; video programs liked by the user are requested to be broadcast; singing favorite songs on line; various information provided by the IPTV is searched for, including life information, entertainment information, education information, sports information and the like. The user may also view additional information about the program, such as a presentation of the program content, an introduction of actors and directors, etc., using the EPG menu. Meanwhile, through the parental control function provided in the EPG menu, parents can limit certain programs and do not open all viewing rights to children.
The birth of the EPG greatly enriches the digital television service and provides the digital television application convenient and practical for users. It can be said that the EPG is to plug the functions of the conventional television newspaper, television magazine, etc. into the small set-top box, and expand the functions, so that the functions not only cover the range of the conventional newspaper magazine, but also derive the new business state that the conventional newspaper magazine cannot realize.
EPGs have two important performance requirements: first, the receiving speed; and secondly, the storage capacity. The receiving speed requires that the set top box can quickly search EPG information in the DVB network, and its influencing factors include: transmission speed of EIT table in dvb network; 2. an algorithm for filtering and analyzing EIT; how much EPG information is in the dvb network. The traditional optimization speed can only start from the aspects of EIT filtering and EIT analysis, but has obvious bottlenecks.
The storage capacity requires that the set top box be able to store as much EPG information as possible, but is limited by the local storage capacity of the set top box, and EPG information in some DVB networks is up to tens of MB in quantity, which is generally impossible for the set top box to be able to store completely.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention aims to provide a method for quickly acquiring an EPG by a set top box.
The method monitors the EPG data of the DVB network through the user set top box, if the EPG data changes, the set top box uploads the current EPG data to the EPG storage server, and the user set top box inquires the EPG data from the EPG storage server and displays the EPG data to the user. And the EPG storage server receives the EPG data uploaded by the user set top box, stores the EPG data, receives the query command of the user set top box and transmits the stored EPG data to the user set top box.
The specific flow of the user set top box monitoring EPG data and uploading the EPG data to the EPG storage server is as follows:
step (1) the user set top box starts an EPG data monitoring task;
step (2), the user set top box sends handshake information to the EPG storage server to handshake with the EPG storage server, if the handshake fails, the step (3) is executed, and if the handshake succeeds, the step (5) is executed;

and (8) the user set top box judges whether the EPG data in the DVB network is changed, if so, the step (2) is executed, and if not, the step (7) is executed.
The specific flow of the EPG storage server is as follows:
step (a) the user starts an EPG storage server;
step (b), the EPG storage server waits for information or data sent by a user set top box, wherein the information or data comprises handshake information, query information and EPG data: if the EPG storage server receives the handshake information, performing step (c); if the EPG storage server receives the EPG data, performing step (d); if the EPG storage server receives the query information, executing step (g);
step (c), the EPG storage server performs handshake with the user set top box, returns a handshake success message to the user set top box, and continues to execute the step (b);
step (d), the EPG storage server analyzes the EPG data and checks, and if the check is successful, the step (e) is executed; if the verification fails, executing the step (f);
step (e), the EPG storage server stores the analyzed EPG data into a local EPG database, and the step (b) is continuously executed;
step (f), the EPG storage server deletes the cache, and the step (b) is continuously executed;
step (g) the EPG storage server analyzes the query information, searches whether matched EPG data exists in the local EPG database according to EPG query parameters in the query information, if so, executes step (h), and if not, executes step (i);
step (h), the EPG storage server sends the matched EPG data to a set top box of a user, and the step (b) is continuously executed;
and (c) the EPG storage server informs the user that the set top box inquiry fails, and the step (b) is continuously executed.

step III, whether the query limit times are reached, if the query limit times are reached, executing the step IV, and if the query limit times are not reached, executing the step II;
IV, stopping updating the EPG data;
step V, the user set top box analyzes the EPG data obtained from the EPG storage server;
and VI, the user set top box stores the analyzed EPG data into a local memory.
The method of the invention designs a set of method capable of rapidly acquiring programs in the DVB network based on the Ethernet and the set top box, and can store a large amount of EPG data without limitation. By adopting the method of the invention, the EPG storage space is almost unlimited, a large amount of EPG data can be stored, the speed of acquiring the EPG data by the set top box of the user breaks through the limit of local filtering analysis, and all EPG data can be acquired after the set top box is started.
