The invention relates to an articulated straddle type monorail vehicle underframe which comprises two boundary beams arranged in parallel front and back and two groups of end underframe fixedly welded at two ends of the two boundary beams, wherein the two groups of end underframe are bilaterally symmetrical and form a rectangular square frame structure with the two boundary beams; the top parts of the two groups of end underframe are respectively provided with a group of hinging seats which are bilaterally symmetrical, two underframe longitudinal beams parallel to the edge beams are arranged between the two groups of end underframe, the two ends of the underframe longitudinal beams are fixedly welded with the corresponding end underframe, and underframe cross beams are fixedly welded between two adjacent edge beams and underframe longitudinal beams as well as between the underframe longitudinal beams and the underframe longitudinal beams; the end underframe, the hinged seat, the edge beam, the underframe longitudinal beam and the underframe cross beam are all made of carbon steel materials. The underframe is one of important structural components of a straddle type monorail vehicle, is a bearing component of passengers and equipment, and bears an interface of a bogie, an interface of a side wall and an interface of an end wall. Therefore, the underframe should have good mechanical properties and be capable of well transferring longitudinal and vertical loads.
At present, in order to reduce the self weight of some rail vehicles, the underframe is made of an aluminum alloy material, but the aluminum alloy material has the defects of low strength and rigidity, low bearing capacity, poor corrosion resistance and unsatisfactory use effect.
