Description

Filter assembly
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a vehicle filter assembly.
Background
EP 1 825 897 B1 relates to a filter assembly for filtering oil, consisting of an upper shell and a lower shell, wherein the lower shell forms part of an oil sump and the filter assembly has a filter element which is arranged between an inlet opening and a discharge opening, and the upper shell is fixedly fastened to the lower shell by means of a welded connection.
A disadvantage in welded connections is that, on the one hand, the two housing parts must be made of weldable plastic, and, on the other hand, a region must be provided for the welded connection on the component, which therefore becomes more expensive to construct.
DE 1 973 54 C2 discloses an oil filter insert for a conventional oil sump which consists of a seal carrier frame and an oil sump. A filter element is arranged between the seal carrier frame and the oil sump, which filter element separates the inlet opening from the outlet opening with respect to the fluid. The seal carrier frame is fixedly interconnected to the oil sump by a plurality of helical connections.
A disadvantage in this type of screw connection is that all the screw points must be uniformly fixedly connected for a sealed connection between the two components, which is a very complicated work step. Furthermore, there is a risk that: the seal arranged between the two components may be damaged by the high compression of the two components.
Disclosure of Invention
Therefore, the present invention has studied the following problems: an improved or at least one alternative embodiment is provided for a filter assembly of the type according to the generic category, which in particular shows a simplified construction.
According to the invention, this problem is solved by an oil filter assembly according to the invention.
The invention is based on the following general idea: a filter assembly is provided which is configured such that a housing upper part is connected to a housing lower part in a simple manner by means of a snap connection. A filter element for filtering oil is arranged between the housing members. The filter element is connected in a sealing manner to the housing component in order to provide a filter raw space (filterrohranum) in the region of the inlet and a filter clean space in the region of the outlet.
A snap connection in the sense of the present invention is to be understood as any connection: the connection is hooked onto one of the two components by means of elastic engagement means on the other component and thus forms a form-fit. This can be formed, for example, by a typical snap hook of the first component, which snaps onto an undercut or mating contour of the second component. The snap hook can be arranged not only on the housing upper part but also on the housing lower part, preferably being configured integrally with this component. When the snap hooks are arranged on the housing upper part, the housing lower part has a mating contour corresponding thereto, whereby at least one snap hook is latched in the mounted position. When the snap hooks are arranged on the housing lower part, the housing upper part accordingly has a mating contour designed in such a way that at least one snap hook is latched in the installed position.
In a preferred embodiment, a seal is arranged between the housing upper part and the housing lower part. The sealing element is pressed between the housing upper part and the housing lower part by means of the snap connection in such a way that the two components are connected to one another in a sealing manner. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the seal is fastened to the housing upper part or the filter element, in particular as an integral component of the housing upper part or the filter element. In the case of fastening to the filter element, the seal additionally serves as a seal of the filter element with respect to the housing upper part and the housing lower part, so that an additional seal can be dispensed with.
The sealing element has at least one sealing plate which is in contact with the housing upper part or the housing lower part. In a preferred embodiment, the seal has at least three sealing plates and a cavity between the at least three sealing plates in order to compensate for possible pulsations in the system and in this case still achieve a sealing function.
In a preferred embodiment, the filter assembly has two outlets, wherein one outlet is formed by means of a nipple inserted separately into a groove, in order to be able to attach the filter assembly to two oil circuits with two independent pumps.
Another preferred embodiment has a bypass valve in order to bypass the filter element in the event of excessive pressure in order to avoid damage. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the further filter element is arranged between the housing upper part and the housing lower part in such a way that the volume flow is guided through the further filter element by the bypass valve in order to protect the downstream components from interfering substances.
Further important features and advantages of the invention result from the figures and the description of the figures in accordance therewith.
It is obvious that the features mentioned above and to be explained below can be used not only in the respectively given combination, but also in other combinations or alone without departing from the framework of the invention.
Drawings
Preferred embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings and are explained in more detail in the following description, wherein the same reference numerals indicate the same or similar or functionally equivalent components.

FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a filter assembly according to the present invention
FIG. 2 detail view of the snap connection
FIG. 3A detailed view of the seal in the region of the snap connection
Detailed Description
According to fig. 1, a filter assembly 1 according to the invention has an upper housing part 2 and a lower housing part 3, which forms an oil sump
Figure BDA0003597709390000031
A part of (a). The filter element 4 is arranged between the housing upper part 2 and the housing lower part 3 in such a way that it separates the inlet 5 from the outlet 6 with respect to the fluid. The filter element 4 thus divides the filter assembly 1 into a crude oil zone at the inlet 5, where the oil is still dirty, and a purified oil zone at the outlet 6, where the oil has been purified by the filter element 4. According to the invention, the housing upper part 2 is coupled, in particular fastened in a non-detachable manner, to the housing lower part 3 by means of the snap connection 7. In a preferred embodiment, the oil filter assembly 1 has a seal 8 in the region of the snap connection 7 in order to hold the housing upper part 2 relative to the housing lower partThe component 3 is sealed, wherein the seal also allows slight leakage without impairing the principle of action of the filter assembly 1.
Fig. 2 discloses a detailed view of the snap connection 7 of the filter assembly 1. The snap connection 7 has a resilient engagement part, in particular a snap hook 9, and has a mating contour 10 which interacts with the snap hook 9. The snap-on hook 9 is arranged on the housing lower part 3, preferably configured integrally with it. The mating contour 10 is arranged on the housing upper part 2 or the filter element 4, preferably integrally formed therewith. However, the embodiment of the snap connection can also be arranged in reverse (gedreht) so that the snap hook 9 is arranged on the housing upper part 2 or the filter element 4 and the mating contour 10 is arranged on the housing lower part 3. In this variant, the snap hook and the mating contour can also be configured integrally with the respective component.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the snap connection has a seal 8 in order to connect the two components 2, 4, 3 to one another in a sealing manner.
Fig. 3 shows a detailed view of the seal 8 in the region of the snap connection 7 of the filter assembly 1. The seal 8 has at least one sealing plate 11, which seals the two components 2, 4, 3. In a preferred embodiment, the seal 8 has three sealing plates 11, 12, 13 with cavities between them in order to increase the sealing effect and to compensate for possible pressure pulsations in the system, which are caused in particular by the oil pump, without reducing the sealing effect.
The respective sealing plate 11, 12, 13 has a triangular structure in such a way that the apex of the triangular structure is located at the sealing point of the two components 2, 4, 3 to be sealed. Possible play of the snap connection can be compensated for by the sealing disks 11, 12, 13 which are tapered to a triangular shape, without damaging the respective sealing region.
