Description

User equipment capability reporting method, user equipment capability acquiring method and related products
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a method for reporting a user equipment capability, a method for acquiring a user equipment capability, and a related product.
Background
With the increase of UE capability, more and more User Equipments (UEs) support relatively more CA (Carrier Aggregation) capabilities. However, some base stations of the operator network do not support handling of relatively large Radio Resource Control (RRC) messages, for example, if the reported RRC message is larger than 3000 bytes, the base station cannot handle the RRC message. However, as the processing power of operators' base stations increases, some base stations have begun to have no limit on the size of RRC messages. However, when reporting the UE capability, the size of the RRC message used for reporting the UE capability is still limited, which limits the size of the RRC message, and thus results in that many CA capabilities are reported incompletely, for example, some UEs support carrier aggregation of about 400 groups, because of the limitation of the size of the RRC message, the UE can only report CA capabilities of about 200 groups at most, many CC (Cell Combination, CC) carriers cannot be reported to the network side, the network side only considers that the UE supports the reported CA capability, and does not consider that the UE does not support the reported CA capability, and thus the network side cannot activate the CA capability that the UE does not report, and the user cannot experience high-rate service brought by 5CC carrier aggregation.
Therefore, the current method for reporting the UE capability is not flexible enough, which may cause many high-rate CA combinations to be unable to be reported to the network, thereby affecting the user experience.

In practical applications, the user equipment may further include: intelligent vehicle-mounted terminal, computer equipment and the like. The application does not limit the type of the user equipment. An Access Network (RAN) device of the present application is connected to a terminal device, and is configured to receive data of a user and send the data to a core Network device. The AN device corresponds to different devices in different communication systems, for example, a base station and a base station Controller in a 2G system, a base station and a Radio Network Controller (RNC) in a 3G system, AN evolved Node B (eNB) in a 4G system, and a next generation base station gbb (gNB) in a 5G system. The access network equipment of the application is explained and illustrated by the base station in a unified way, and repeated explanation is not needed.
Referring to fig. 1, fig. 1 is an architecture diagram of a communication system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The communication system comprises a user equipment 10 and an access network device 20. Wherein:
after the RRC connection is established between the user equipment 10 and the access network equipment 20, the access network equipment 20 may query the core network equipment whether the user equipment capability of the user equipment 10 is stored, and if not, the access network equipment may send user equipment capability request information to the user equipment 10, where the user equipment capability request information is used to indicate that the user equipment 10 reports the user equipment capability. Accordingly, after receiving the user capability request message, the user equipment 10 first obtains the limitation information of the size of the RRC message by the access network equipment 20, and then sends a first user equipment capability message to the access network equipment according to the limitation information, where the first user equipment capability message includes part or all of the user equipment capabilities. Accordingly, after acquiring part or all of the user equipment capabilities, the access network device 20 stores the part or all of the user equipment capabilities and performs data communication with the user equipment 10.
It can be seen that, in this embodiment, before reporting the ue capability to the access network device 20, the ue 10 may first obtain the limitation information of the size of the RRC message by the access network device, so that part of the ue capability or all the ue capability may be selected to be reported according to the limitation information, thereby improving the flexibility of reporting the ue capability. In addition, when the access network device 20 does not have a limitation on the size of the RRC message, the user equipment 10 may report all the user equipment capabilities to the access network device 20, so that the user may experience a high-rate service brought by 5CC carrier aggregation, and the user experience is improved.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a method for reporting a ue capability according to an embodiment of the present application. The method is applied to the communication system. The method comprises the following steps:
201: the access network equipment sends user equipment capacity request information to the user equipment, wherein the user equipment capacity request information is used for indicating the user equipment to report the user equipment capacity. Correspondingly, the user equipment receives the user equipment capability request information sent by the access network equipment.
For example, after the UE establishes an RRC connection with the access network device, the access network device may first obtain a UE Capability (UE Capability) of the UE from the core network device. If the core network device does not store the UE Capability, the access network device sends UE Capability request information to the UE, and the UE Capability request information indicates the user equipment to report the UE Capability. Accordingly, after receiving the UE Capability request message, the UE may report the UE Capability.
202: the user equipment acquires the limitation information of the access network equipment on the size of the radio resource control RRC message.
For example, after receiving the UE Capability request message, the UE first obtains the restriction information of the size of the radio resource control RRC message from the access network device.
Optionally, the UE obtains a corresponding relationship between each operator and the limitation information of the size of the RRC message, where the corresponding relationship is configured in the user equipment in advance, for example, the corresponding relationship is configured in a configuration file of the user equipment in advance, and then the user equipment may obtain the corresponding relationship from the configuration file. For example, a developer may obtain, from a white paper in an official network of each operator, restriction information on the size of the RRC message by the base station related to each operator from the white paper, use the restriction information as the restriction information on the size of the RRC message by each operator, and finally configure the restriction information on the size of the RRC message by each operator into a configuration file of the user equipment, thereby implementing a pre-configured correspondence relationship between each operator and the restriction information on the size of the RRC message. Exemplarily, the user equipment may periodically crawl white papers of each operator from an official website of each operator through a crawler technology, acquire restriction information of the base station of each operator on the size of the RRC message from the white papers of each operator through keyword recognition, use the restriction information as the restriction information of each operator on the size of the RRC message, and locally store the restriction information of each operator on the size of the RRC message, thereby implementing a pre-configured correspondence relationship between each operator and the restriction information of the size of the RRC message.
Further, the UE acquires an operator to which the access network device belongs. For example, in the process of establishing RRC connection between the UE and the access network device, the identification information of the access network device may be acquired; then, the UE may determine, according to the identification information, an operator to which the access network device belongs. And finally, the UE determines the limitation information of the access network equipment on the size of the RRC message according to the operator to which the access network equipment belongs and the corresponding relation.
It can be seen that the above-mentioned manner of determining the limitation information of the access network device on the size of the RRC message is implemented from the user equipment side, and the base station side does not need to be modified, thereby avoiding the communication failure caused by the base station upgrade.
For example, the information about the limitation of the size of the RRC message by the access network device includes, but is not limited to:
the access network equipment limits the size of the RRC message, namely the size of the RRC message processed by the access network equipment is limited, and when the size of the RRC message exceeds the limit value processed by the access network equipment, the RRC message cannot be successfully processed; alternatively, the access network device has no restriction on the size of the RRC message, i.e., the access network device can handle RRC messages of any size. Further, when the access network device has a limitation on the size of the RRC message, the limitation information may further indicate that the access network device limits the size of the RRC message to M bytes, that is, a limit value of the size of the RRC message that can be processed by the access network device is M bytes, and when the size of the RRC message exceeds M bytes, the RRC message cannot be processed, where M is an integer greater than or equal to 1.
In practical application, which is the limitation information in the configuration file of the user equipment may depend on the disclosure degree of the base station established by the operator, and when a certain operator only discloses whether the base station has limitation on the size of the RRC message, the limitation information of the operator on the size of the RRC message in the configuration file of the user equipment is: whether the operator has a limit on the size of the RRC message; when an operator discloses a specific limitation of the size of the RRC message by the base station that the operator establishes, for example, how many bytes the size of the RRC message is limited, the limitation information of the operator on the size of the RRC message in the configuration file of the user equipment may be: the operator limits the size of the RRC message to how many bytes.
203: and the user equipment sends a first user equipment capability message to the access network equipment according to the limitation information, wherein the first user equipment capability message comprises part or all of the user equipment capability. Correspondingly, the access network equipment receives the first user equipment capability message.
Wherein, the first UE capability message is one of RRC messages. The UE selectively reports all the user equipment capacity or part of the user equipment capacity according to the limitation information of the access network equipment on the size of the RRC message.
Illustratively, when the limitation information indicates that the access network device has a limitation on the size of the RRC message, the first ue capability message includes a part of the ue capabilities, and the size of the first ue capability message is smaller than or equal to a preset threshold corresponding to the access network device, where the preset threshold is a maximum value of the RRC message that can be processed by the access network device. Alternatively, the user equipment may store in advance the maximum values of RRC messages that can be processed by its base station, which are published by each operator. Therefore, when the user equipment determines that the limitation information indicates that the access network equipment has a limitation on the size of the RRC message, the user equipment may determine the preset threshold corresponding to the access network equipment based on the operator to which the access network equipment belongs, and according to the operator to which the access network equipment belongs and the prestored maximum value of the RRC message that can be processed by the base station of the access network equipment and is published by each operator. And then, the user equipment combines the user equipment capacity, part of the combined user equipment capacity is carried in a first user equipment capacity message, the size of the first user equipment capacity message is smaller than or equal to the preset threshold value, and finally the part of the user equipment capacity is reported to the access network equipment through the first user equipment capacity message.
Illustratively, when the limitation information indicates that the size of the RRC message by the access network device is limited to M bytes, it is determined that the access network device supports the RRC message of M bytes at maximum, and the size of the RRC message used by the user equipment to report the capability of the user equipment may not exceed N bytes. Therefore, when the user equipment determines that the size of the RRC message by the access network equipment is limited to M bytes, the user equipment capacity is combined, part of the combined user equipment capacity is carried in the first user equipment capacity message, the size of the first user equipment capacity message is smaller than or equal to M bytes, and finally the part of the user equipment capacity is reported to the access network equipment through the first user equipment capacity message. For example, if the access network device restricts the size of the RRC message to be not more than 3000 bytes, the UE needs to combine the UE capabilities to ensure that the size of the first UE capability message reporting the UE capabilities is not more than 3000 bytes.
For example, when the limitation information indicates that the access network device does not have a limitation on the size of the RRC message, the UE may report all UE capabilities to the access network device, and therefore the first UE capability message includes all UE capabilities.
It can be seen that, in this embodiment, before reporting the capability of the user equipment to the access network equipment, the user equipment acquires the restriction information of the size of the RRC message from the access network equipment, so that part of the capability of the user equipment or all the capabilities of the user equipment can be selected to be reported according to the restriction information, thereby improving the flexibility of reporting the capability of the user equipment. In addition, research shows that when the access network device limits the size of the RRC message to 3000 bytes, the user equipment only reports 222 CA combinations, and when the access network device does not limit the size of the RRC message, the user equipment reports 352 CA combinations, that is, all CA combinations, and at this time, the size of the RRC message reporting the capability of the user equipment is 8000 bytes. Therefore, when the access network device does not limit the size of the RRC message, the ue can report all ue capabilities to the access network device, so that the user can experience high-rate services due to 5CC carrier aggregation, and improve user experience. Finally, in the embodiment, the reporting of part or all of the user equipment capabilities can be completed only by pre-configuring the corresponding relation on the user equipment side, and the base station side does not need to be modified, so that the complicated problem caused by base station modification is avoided.
In an embodiment of the application, when the limitation information indicates that the access network device does not have a limitation on a size of the RRC message, and after the user equipment reports all user equipment capabilities, when an acknowledgement message of the access network device for the first user equipment capability message is not received within a preset time period, for example, when the access network device does not send an acknowledgement information ACK message for the first user equipment capability message to the user equipment, the user equipment sends a second user equipment capability message to the access network device, where the second user equipment capability message includes part of user equipment capabilities, and the size of the second user equipment capability message is smaller than or equal to a preset threshold.
It should be noted that, although the operator issues no limitation on the size of the RRC message, there is still a difference in processing capability when different base stations of the operator actually process the RRC message. Therefore, after the ue reports all the ue capabilities to the base station, the base station cannot successfully analyze the first ue capability message, and therefore the ue capabilities are not acquired, and a fallback capability reporting procedure is required. Therefore, when the user equipment does not receive the confirmation message of the access network equipment for the first user equipment capability message within the preset time period, the user equipment capability is reported again through the second user equipment capability message, and when the user equipment reports again, the size of the second user equipment capability message reporting part of the user equipment capability is smaller than or equal to the preset threshold value, so that the access network equipment can successfully analyze the second user equipment capability, and the capability reporting is completed.
Fig. 3 is a flowchart illustrating another method for reporting a ue capability according to an embodiment of the present application. The method is applied to the communication system. The same contents of this embodiment as those of the embodiment shown in fig. 2 will not be repeated here. The method comprises the following steps:
301: the access network equipment sends user equipment capacity request information to the user equipment, wherein the user equipment capacity request information is used for indicating the user equipment to report the user equipment capacity. Correspondingly, the user equipment receives the user equipment capability request information sent by the access network equipment.
302: the access network equipment sends indication information to the user equipment, wherein the indication information is used for indicating the access network equipment to limit the size of the RRC message. Correspondingly, the user equipment receives the indication information sent by the access network equipment.
It should be noted that, before the UE reports the UE capability, the access network device first indicates the UE's restriction information on the size of the RRC message, so that when the UE reports the UE capability, the size of the RRC message used for reporting the UE capability satisfies the requirement of the access network device.
For example, the information about the limitation of the size of the RRC message by the access network device includes, but is not limited to:
the access network equipment has a limit on the size of the RRC message, that is, the size of the RRC message processed by the access network equipment is limited, and when the size of the RRC message exceeds the limit value processed by the access network equipment, the RRC message cannot be successfully processed; alternatively, the access network device has no limitation on the size of the RRC message, i.e., the access network device can handle RRC messages of any size. For example, when the access network device indicates that it has a limit on the size of the RRC message, the access network device may indicate that it has a limit on the size of the RRC message through a byte in the indication information, for example, when the value of the byte is 1, it indicates that the access network has a limit on the size of the RRC message, and when the value of the byte is 0, it indicates that the access network has no limit on the size of the RRC message. It should be noted that the value of 0 or 1 is only an example, and in practical application, the indication may be performed by using other bytes, and in practical application, whether the access network device has a limitation on the size of the RRC message may also be indicated by using more bytes.
Further, when the access network device has a limitation on the size of the RRC message, the limitation information may further indicate that the access network device limits the size of the RRC message to M bytes, that is, the limit value of the size of the RRC message that the access network device can process is M bytes, and when the size of the RRC message exceeds M bytes, the RRC message cannot be processed, where M is an integer greater than or equal to 1. Illustratively, the access network device indicates the specific restriction condition of the size of the RRC message by means of a bitmap (bitmap) when the indication information indicates the specific restriction condition. For example, the first byte in the bitmap is used to indicate whether the access network device has limitation on the size of the RRC message, and the second to nth bits are used to indicate how many bytes the access network device limits the size of the RRC message. For example, if the bitmap is 11100, the access network device may know that the size of the RRC message is limited by parsing the bitmap, and the size is limited to 8400 bytes. For another example, when the bitmap is 00000, it may be determined that the access network device does not limit the size of the RRC message.
It should be understood that the indication information may be a single piece of indication information, or may be carried in the UE capability request information, and the form of the indication information is not limited in the present application.
303: the user equipment acquires the limitation information of the access network equipment on the size of the radio resource control RRC message.
For example, the user equipment may determine, based on the indication information, restriction information of the access network equipment on the size of the radio resource control RRC message.
304: and the user equipment sends a first user equipment capacity message to the access network equipment according to the limitation information, wherein the first user equipment capacity message comprises part or all of the user equipment capacity. Correspondingly, the access network equipment receives a first user equipment capability message sent by the user equipment.
Finally, in this embodiment, the access network device may indicate, through the indication information, whether the access network device has a limitation on the size of the RRC message, that is, whether the access network device has a limitation on the size of the RRC message is indicated from the base station side, and the terminal does not need to be modified, thereby reducing the tedious problem of terminal upgrade.
