Description

Vehicle-mounted entertainment system with operation interface switching function
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a vehicle-mounted host device (In-vehicle entertainment device), and more particularly, to a vehicle-mounted entertainment system with an operation interface switching function.
Background
With the advanced development of 4G and 5G mobile communication technologies, smart mobile devices have become indispensable articles in people's lives, and vehicle-mounted entertainment hosts (automatic entertainment devices) having functions of touch screens, car navigation, video entertainment and the like have also become one of the standard equipment of automobiles. In order to facilitate playing and operating applications on a vehicle-mounted entertainment host of a user's smart mobile device (such as a smart phone) by using stored audio/video data and installed application programs, Andriod Auto and Apple careplay operating interfaces have been introduced by Google and Apple Inc.
Fig. 1 shows a front view of a smartphone having an iOS operating system and an in-vehicle entertainment host, and fig. 2 shows a block diagram of the smartphone having the iOS operating system and the in-vehicle entertainment host. Currently, as shown in fig. 1 and 2, a commercially available in-vehicle entertainment host 1x basically has a display unit 11x, a wireless communication unit 12x, an audio unit 13x, an input unit 14x, a device connection unit 15x, an Apple Mfi authorization chip 16x, and a card play execution unit 17x (i.e., application program).
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, after the smart phone 2x having the iOS operating system and the in-vehicle entertainment host 1x complete communication connection through a connection channel 3x, the card play execution unit 17x obtains card play activation authorization from the Apple Mfi authorization chip 16x (i.e., Mfi authentication co-processor chip), and then displays a card play operation interface 1Cx on the display unit 11x of the in-vehicle entertainment host 1 x. Therefore, the user can execute part of the application programs of the smart phone or play the memory video data of the smart phone by operating the CarPlay operation interface 1 Cx.
It should be noted that the connection channel 3x may be a wireless transmission channel or a wired transmission channel, for example: and a wired transmission channel realized by using a USB transmission line. On the other hand, in order to provide convenience for data transmission for users, the conventional in-vehicle entertainment host 1x is generally equipped with 2 to 3 USB electrical connectors (i.e., electrical connection unit 15 x). Unfortunately, once one of the USB electrical connectors is communicatively connected to the smart phone 2x of the user, the display unit 11x of the in-vehicle entertainment host 1x correspondingly displays a carpy operation interface 1Cx, and at this time, the in-vehicle entertainment host 1x cannot simultaneously access the electronic devices (e.g., portable discs) connected to the other USB electrical connectors. In addition, even if the user connects two smartphones 2x to two USB electrical connectors of the operating in-vehicle entertainment host 1x, Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto) only allows one smartphone 2x to map part of its applications in the CarPlay operating interface 1Cx through a designated one USB electrical connector.
For the foregoing reasons, how to freely select, switch and connect the CarPlay operation interface corresponding to different smartphones connected to different USB electrical connectors for the in-vehicle entertainment host is a major issue for manufacturers of the in-vehicle entertainment host. In view of the above, the inventors of the present invention have made intensive studies and finally developed a car entertainment system having a function of switching a CarPlay operation interface.

Detailed Description
In order to more clearly describe the vehicle-mounted entertainment system with the function of switching the operation interface, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First embodiment
FIG. 3 is a first architecture diagram of a vehicle entertainment system with an operation interface switching function according to the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a block diagram of the vehicle entertainment system with the operation interface switching function according to the present invention. As shown in fig. 3, the in-vehicle entertainment system with an operation interface switching function (hereinafter referred to as "in-vehicle entertainment system") of the present invention includes: an on-board host device 1 and a hub 2 with host-to-host connection function. Specifically, fig. 3 and 4 only show the vehicular host apparatus 1 with emphasis on having a first USB host unit 11, a display unit 12 and an operation interface execution unit 13. However, it should be noted that currently commercially available in-vehicle host devices having the CarPlay execution function generally include: the display unit, the wireless communication unit, the audio unit, the input unit, the device connection unit, the Apple Mfi authorization chip, and the CarPlay execution unit, refer to FIG. 2.
According to the design of the present invention, the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function includes: an upstream port 21 coupled to the first USB host unit 11, a hub function module 22 coupled to the upstream port 21, and a plurality of downstream ports (23a,23b,23c) coupled to the hub function module 22. It should be noted that although fig. 3 shows that the plurality of downstream ports includes a first downstream port 23a, a second downstream port 23b and a third downstream port 23c, in a practical embodiment, the number of downstream ports mounted on the hub function module 22 may be N (N ≧ 2).
With continuing reference to fig. 3 and with concurrent reference to fig. 5, there is shown an in-vehicle host device 1 incorporating the hub 2 having host-to-host connectivity. It should be noted that, according to fig. 3, the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function and the on-board host device 1 are naturally considered as two independent devices, and at this time, the first USB host 11 can be regarded as a USB electrical connector including a USB control chip. However, in practice, as shown in fig. 5, the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function can be directly integrated into the in-vehicle host device 1. At this time, at least one of the downstream ports (23a,23b,23c) is a plurality of electrical connectors exposed outside a front panel 10 of the on-board host device 1, and the first USB host unit 11 can be regarded as a USB control chip.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, according to the design of the present invention, the on-board host device 1 has a device information recording unit 15 for establishing a device list and a plurality of device connection records after a first mobile electronic device 3a having a first operating system, at least one peripheral electronic device 4, and a second mobile electronic device 3b having a second operating system are respectively coupled to the first downstream port 23a, the second downstream port 23b, and the third downstream port 23 c. In a possible embodiment, the device list includes a plurality of device information, and the plurality of device information includes: a USB address (i.e., a downstream port address), the number of connections to the hub 2 having the host-to-host wiring function, and an operating system version.
Moreover, the on-board host device 1 further has a priority ranking unit 16 for completing a priority ranking for the first mobile electronic device 3a and the second mobile electronic device 3b according to the device list and the device connection records. With such a design, when the first mobile electronic device 3a and the second mobile electronic device 3b are coupled to the hub 2 having the host-to-host connection function at the same time, the on-board host 1 performs priority ranking on the two mobile electronic devices, and then displays a first operation interface 1C on the display unit 12 by the operation interface execution unit 13, so that a part or all of the applications of the first mobile electronic device 3a having a high priority ranking are mapped in the first operation interface 1C.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the hub function module 22 includes a USB signal transmission unit 2231 and a USB/NCM protocol conversion unit 2232. To explain in more detail, in the case that the first mobile electronic device 3a and the second mobile electronic device 3b are coupled to the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function at the same time, the first mobile electronic device 3a with high priority comes into NCM connection with the first USB host control unit 11 through the USB/NCM protocol conversion unit 2232 and the upstream port 21 of the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function, so that the operation interface execution unit 13 displays the first operation interface 1C corresponding to the first mobile electronic device 3a on the display unit 12. To describe in more detail, the Apple CarPlay implements data transmission between the car machine (i.e., the in-vehicle host device 1) and the smart phone (i.e., the first and second mobile electronic devices 3a/3b) by using a Network Control Model (NCM) when executing the Apple CarPlay. Therefore, in an embodiment, the USB/NCM protocol conversion unit 2232 is a CDC-NCM bridge unit, configured to transmit data transmitted by the USB interface of the Communication Device Class (CDC) to the first USB host unit 11 of the vehicle host apparatus 1 in the data format of the NCM protocol.
It should be noted that, since the hub 2 with Host-to-Host connection function has Host-to-Host connection function, when the display unit 12 displays the first operation interface 1C, the in-vehicle Host device 1 can still maintain the role of master (i.e. not be switched to the role of slave) to access the peripheral electronic device 4 through the USB signal transmission unit 2231 of the hub function module 22.
As shown in fig. 3, after completing the establishment of the device list, the on-board host device 1 simultaneously displays a manual selection menu 1U on the display unit 12 thereof for listing the first mobile electronic device 3a and/or the second mobile electronic device 3b coupled to the first downlink port 23a and/or the second downlink port 23b, so that the user can manually select the first mobile electronic device 3a or the second mobile electronic device 3b to achieve the communication connection with the on-board host device 1, and the operation interface executing unit 13 displays the first operation interface 1C corresponding to the selected first mobile electronic device 3a or the selected second mobile electronic device 3b on the display unit 12.
For example, when a part or all of the applications of the first mobile electronic device 3a with high priority are mapped in the first operation interface 1C, the user can select the manual selection menu 1U to enable the second mobile electronic device 3b to connect to the in-vehicle host device 1 through the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function through the host, so that a part or all of the applications of the second mobile electronic device 3b are mapped in the first operation interface 1C. In other words, after the user clicks the second mobile electronic device 3b on the manual selection menu 1U, the NCM connection between the first mobile electronic device 3a and the in-vehicle host device 1 is originally disconnected, and instead, the NCM connection is established between the second mobile electronic device 3b and the in-vehicle host device 1. Therefore, the applications originally mapped in the first operation interface 1C by the first mobile electronic device 3a are all replaced by the applications mapped by the second mobile electronic device 3 b.
In an embodiment, the first operating system and the second operating system may be an iOS operating system or an Android operating system. In other words, in the case that the first mobile electronic device 3a is an iOS smart phone, the first operation interface 1C displayed by the display unit 12 is a CarPlay operation interface. On the other hand, when the second mobile electronic device 3b is an Android smartphone, the first operation interface 1C displayed by the display unit 12 is an Android Auto operation interface.
Second embodiment
FIG. 6 is a second block diagram of an in-vehicle entertainment system with operation interface switching function according to the present invention. In the second embodiment, the on-board host device 1 further has a second USB host unit 14, so that another hub 2 with host-to-host connection function can be coupled to the second USB host unit 14 via the uplink port 2, and a third mobile electronic device 5a, a fourth mobile electronic device 5b and the peripheral electronic device 4 can be coupled to the first downlink port 23a, the second downlink port 23b and the third downlink port 23c of the hub 2 with host-to-host connection function, respectively. Furthermore, an external touch display device 7 can be connected to the on-board host device 1 through a connection channel 71. At this time, similarly, the device information recording unit 15 (refer to fig. 4) of the in-vehicle host device 1 establishes a device list for the third mobile electronic device 5a, the fourth mobile electronic device 5b and the peripheral electronic device 4 coupled to the other hub 2 having the host-to-host connection function, and also establishes a device connection record. Further, the priority ranking unit 16 (refer to fig. 4) of the on-vehicle host device 1 completes a priority ranking for the third mobile electronic device 5a and the fourth mobile electronic device 5b according to the device list and the device connection records, so that the operation interface executing unit 13 displays a second operation interface 7C on the display screen of the external touch display device 7, thereby mapping a part or all of the applications of the third mobile electronic device 5a with high priority in the second operation interface 7C.
It should be noted that the manual selection menu 1U is also listed in the third mobile electronic device 5a, the fourth mobile electronic device 5b and the peripheral electronic device 4. At this time, the user can also manually select the first mobile electronic device 3a, the second mobile electronic device 3b, the third mobile electronic device 5a, or the fourth mobile electronic device 5b to achieve communication connection with the on-board host device 1, so that the operation interface executing unit 13 displays the first operation interface 1C corresponding to the selected first mobile electronic device 3a, the selected second mobile electronic device 3b, the selected third mobile electronic device 5a, or the selected fourth mobile electronic device 5b on the display unit 12.
Third embodiment
FIG. 7 is a third schematic diagram of an in-vehicle entertainment system with an operation interface switching function according to the present invention. In the third embodiment, in addition to the first and second hubs 2 having the host-to-host connection function being coupled to the first USB host control unit 11 and the second USB host control unit 14 of the in-vehicle host device 1, respectively, the third hub 2 having the host-to-host connection function is coupled with the upstream port 21 thereof to one of the plurality of downstream ports (23a,23b,23c) of the first hub 2 having the host-to-host connection function.
Thus, the above embodiments of the present invention have been fully and clearly described. It should be emphasized that the above detailed description is specific to possible embodiments of the invention, but this is not intended to limit the scope of the invention, and equivalents and modifications, which do not depart from the technical spirit of the invention, are intended to be included within the scope of the invention.
