Description

Universal printing method and device applied to server, electronic equipment and medium
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of print management technologies, and in particular, to a universal printing method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a medium for a server.
Background
Printers have become a necessity in daily office work and have an important influence on work efficiency. Therefore, the versatility of the printing format conversion is important.
At present, job printing generally has two output modes, the first is the most common, a print job requires a user to open a file to be printed on a screen, such as a Word, Excel, PDF document, etc., render screen content through a driver of an operating system, convert the screen content into a language (PDL) supported by a printer, such as a Raster format, a PCL format, or a Postscript format in practical applications, and further the operating system outputs the PDL content as a job to the printer through a standard IPP protocol (Internet printing protocol), and simultaneously tracks the job progress by using the IPP protocol to obtain a message that a subsequent print job succeeds or fails. The second scheme is generally called a cloud printing technology, for example, documents such as Word, Excel, and pictures are uploaded to the cloud, a conversion tool at the cloud converts the documents into a standard PDF format (generally, the conversion is completed by a WPS or microsoft Office tool), and then the PDF documents are issued to a specific printing terminal box, the terminal box is connected to a printer, a CUPS component of a Linux system in the box transcodes the PDF documents into a specific PDL format according to a built-in driver of the system, and then the converted PDF documents are output to the printer, so that a printing task is completed.
In the prior art, the two printing modes are both applied to specific occasions, the first scheme needs to be actively intervened by a user and manually operated by using a PC (personal computer), a tablet and other devices to output a printing task, the second scheme needs to be provided with a corresponding printing box for each printing output device, a server can only communicate with the printing box, and the box designates a printer to output.
The two schemes have certain limitations in some scenes. The following scene, a group type enterprise with multiple office service users, a secure internal network managed by VPN in each office network, printer equipment are distributed with independent IP address, and can communicate with WEB server. In this scenario, the end user accesses the WEB server using a browser, and when the client performs print output in the WEB system, the system needs to dynamically determine to output to a designated printer. Because the number of printers may be relatively large (at least 1000 printers) and dynamic increase and decrease exist, if the operating system where the server is located is used in the process, the number of printers cannot be managed independently, and normal transcoding output cannot be performed simultaneously, so that user experience is poor.

It should be noted that the designated printing device may also print according to preset printing time, where the setting of the printing time of each printing device is also performed in the server, and the server issues the file whose format is converted and the set printing time on a certain printing device to the printing device together.
According to the universal printing method applied to the server, the file to be printed is obtained; determining a print format of a designated printing device to be used for printing the file to be printed; carrying out format conversion on the file to be printed according to the printing format of the appointed printing equipment to obtain a file with a corresponding printing format; and sending the file with the corresponding printing format to a designated printing device so that the designated printing device prints the file with the corresponding printing format. The method provided by the invention can be applied to printing equipment with any printing format, has universality, can realize control management on the printing equipment, and improves user experience.
In one embodiment, based on any of the above embodiments, the printing formats are divided into a first type of printing format and a second type of printing format,
correspondingly, the performing format conversion on the file to be printed according to the printing format of the designated printing device to obtain a file with a corresponding printing format includes:
under the condition that the printing format of the designated printing equipment is the first type printing format, carrying out format conversion on the file to be printed by using a first type conversion application program to obtain a file with the first type printing format;
under the condition that the printing format of the designated printing equipment is the second type printing format, carrying out format conversion on the file to be printed by using a second type conversion application program to obtain a file with the second type printing format;
wherein the first type of printing format comprises a PCL format and/or a Postscript format; the second type of printing format includes a Raster and/or URF format.
In the present embodiment, the print formats of the printing apparatus are set to two types, the first type of print format includes PCL format and/or Postscript format, when the print format of the printing apparatus is designated as the first type of print format, the file in PDF format is converted into the file in PCL format and/or Postscript format by ghost script software (i.e., the first type of conversion application), and when the print format of the printing apparatus is designated as the second type of print format, the file in PDF format is converted into the file in Raster format and/or URF format by a separate Java conversion application (the second type of conversion application). The first type conversion application program and the second type conversion application program may be specifically set according to the actual needs of the user, and are not specifically limited herein.
According to the universal printing method applied to the server, the file is converted by using different format conversion application programs according to different printing formats, the accuracy and the processing efficiency of file format conversion can be improved, and certain universality is achieved.
Based on any one of the above embodiments, in an embodiment, the acquiring a file to be printed includes:
and acquiring the file to be printed in the PDF format.
In this embodiment, the server acquires a file to be printed in a PDF format, and in other embodiments, the file may also be a file in a format such as a word, a picture, and the like.
In the prior art, the program printing schemes all adopt a mode of generating a type file such as a fixed format PDF, and are manually opened for printing after being downloaded to a local PC by a user. The invention adopts fixed PDF format for program document input, and PDF is widely applied as an open format at present, and has optimal compatibility of an operating system, application software and printer equipment.
The universal printing method applied to the server provided by the invention has certain universality for processing the file to be printed in the PDF format.
Based on any one of the above embodiments, in an embodiment, the sending the file with the corresponding print format to a designated printing device to make the designated printing device print the file with the corresponding print format includes:
determining the printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing equipment according to the printing time requirement of the file with the corresponding printing format and the printing quantity of the designated printing equipment, and issuing the file with the corresponding printing format and the printing time to the designated printing equipment;
wherein the file with the corresponding printing format belongs to any one of the files with the first type of printing format or belongs to any one of the files with the second type of printing format.
In this embodiment, the printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing device needs to be determined according to the printing time requirement of the file with the corresponding printing format and the printing number (printing task distribution) of the corresponding designated printing device, and the obtained printing time and the file with the corresponding printing format are issued to the designated printing device together. The file with the corresponding printing format may be any one of files with a first type of printing format, may also be any one of files with a second type of printing format, and may be specifically set according to the requirements of the user.
It should be noted that the designated printing device is any one of a plurality of printing devices that print the same document to be printed, for example, if there are 5 printing devices that print the document 1, the designated printing device may be any one of the 5 printing devices.
It should be noted that, by monitoring the printing condition and the job distribution condition of the designated printing device, the time for printing the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing device is calculated, wherein a specific control algorithm is implemented according to a standard IPP protocol (Internet printing protocol), and other control algorithms may be specifically selected according to the needs of the user, which is not specifically limited herein.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the printing behavior of the Windows or MacOS operating system, after a print job is submitted to a printing device, it is necessary to observe the completion of the job and output the result of the job, such as success or failure of printing. It is also possible to determine how many jobs are currently queued, which job is in progress, how many successful prints have been made by the printing apparatus, and how many failed prints have been made by the printing apparatus.
According to the universal printing method applied to the server, provided by the invention, the printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing equipment is determined according to the printing time requirement of the file with the corresponding printing format and the task distribution condition of the designated printing equipment, and the file with the corresponding printing format and the determined printing time are issued to the designated printing equipment, so that the working efficiency of workers can be improved, and the utilization rate of the printing equipment is increased.
Based on any one of the above embodiments, in an embodiment, the determining, according to the printing time requirement of the file with the corresponding printing format and the printing number of the designated printing device, the printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing device includes:
determining appointed printing equipment corresponding to the file with the corresponding printing format according to the printing time requirement of the file with the corresponding printing format and an IPP (Internet protocol);
and determining the printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the specified printing equipment according to the printing number of the specified printing equipment.
In this embodiment, an IPP protocol is used to determine a designated printing device corresponding to a file with a corresponding printing format according to a printing time requirement of the file, and then determine a printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing device according to a current task distribution condition of the designated printing device.
For example, a file with a corresponding printing format is determined to be a PDF file a, a printing device is designated to be a printing device in an office a, and since the office a belongs to an accounting office and the amount of printing required each day is large, the server determines that the current printing task of the printing device in the office is already scheduled to 6 pm, so that the server issues the determined printing time and the PDF file a to the printing device in the office a after only 6 pm is scheduled for printing the PDF file a.
According to the universal printing method applied to the server, provided by the invention, the printing time of the file with the corresponding printing format on the designated printing equipment is determined according to the printing time requirement of the file with the corresponding printing format and the printing quantity of the designated printing equipment, so that the working efficiency of workers can be improved, and the utilization rate of the printing equipment is increased.
Based on any one of the above embodiments, in one embodiment, as shown in fig. 2, the determining a printing format of a designated printing device to be used for printing the file to be printed includes:
and determining the printing format of the designated printing equipment to be used for printing the file to be printed according to the printing requirements of the user on the file to be printed and the printing formats of a plurality of printing equipment.
In this embodiment, mainly for the case that the number of the printing devices is too large, the printing format of the designated printing device that is to print the file to be printed is determined according to the printing requirement of the user on the file to be printed and the printing formats of the plurality of printing devices, and if the user needs to print the file to be printed on the printing device in the office a of the headquarters, the printing format of the printing device in the office a is determined as the printing format of the designated printing device that is to print the file to be printed from the server. It should be noted that in this embodiment, the layout of the server performs transcoding processing on the print format of the file to be printed in a distributed manner, and mainly solves transcoding output of too many printing devices and management of the printing devices by using a distributed architecture.
It should be noted that the process of converting a PDF file to be printed into a file in a format such as a Raster format or a postscript is very CPU resource consuming, if a large number of devices operate printing, a cluster is required, a distributed manner is adopted to balance the computational load, for example, one server can process 5 conversion tasks simultaneously, when 15 conversion tasks need to be concurrently transmitted, one is queuing only, and the other is performed by using three servers.
According to the general printing method applied to the server, the working efficiency of the server can be improved and the efficiency of printing equipment is improved by setting a distributed architecture.
Based on any of the above embodiments, in an embodiment, the method further includes:
and if the printing formats of the specified printing equipment are PDF formats, directly sending the file to be printed to the specified printing equipment for printing.
In this embodiment, if the printing format supported by the designated printing device is the PDF format, the file to be printed is directly sent to the designated printing device for printing without performing format conversion on the file to be printed.
It should be noted that, this processing mode is used as an alternative, and this processing mode is used as an edge calculation scheme, and resources can be changed by using time, so as to reduce the investment of the print transcoding server; however, because the PDF file has no built-in special font, the output may be incorrect due to the lack of the font, and the current printer directly supporting PDF output is expensive, and according to the chip processing speed of the printing device, even if the printing device operating system can perform PDF file directly, the chip transcoding speed of the electronic part of the printing device is much slower than that of the server processor.
According to the universal printing method applied to the server, when the printing format of the designated printing equipment is the PDF format, the file to be printed can be directly sent to the designated printing equipment for printing, and the universality of the equipment is improved.
Based on any of the above embodiments, in an embodiment, as shown in fig. 3, format conversion of a file to be printed is performed at a print server, where the server is a service server and belongs to a server at a client, and the print server is used to manage a printing device, a processing procedure of the present invention is mainly performed in the print server, for example, the server submits a print job, the print server obtains the file to be printed, that is, a PDF file, and completes format conversion of the PDF file in the print server, and in a conversion process, for a printing device supporting PCL and/or Postscript formats, a ghost script conversion application program is used to perform format conversion on the file to be printed; for printing equipment supporting the native Raster format, an independent Java conversion application program is adopted to convert the format of a file to be printed.
The universal printing method applied to the server can be applied to various scenes, for example, when a certain group has a plurality of branches, personnel working in the branches can print files in the headquarters of the group or other branches without limitation of an intranet, the printing method provides a management mode of a plurality of printing devices, has full-automatic printing output capacity, and a terminal user does not need manual operation, and the traditional work of rendering by consuming the resources of a host CPU (central processing unit) at a client is completed at a server end, so that the complicated step of adding printing devices to an operating system one by one for printing operation is avoided, and meanwhile, when the printing device receives PDL with a specific format of PCL (Poly L) or Raster format or Postscript for printing, the printing device has the fastest processing speed and the best compatibility.
