The key combination 12 shown in fig. 1 may be a key combination of a different language family, such as a first key combination 12A of a first language keyboard 10A of the uk language family (fig. 4) or a second key combination 12B of a second language keyboard 10B of the japanese language family (fig. 5). The key positions of the first key combination 12A are mostly the same as those of the second key combination 12B with corresponding character keys, however, there are a few keys which still have differences. For example, the positions of the adjacent first keys 28 and second keys 30 of the first key combination 12A substantially overlap the positions of the third keys 32 of the second key combination 12B on the second language keyboard 10B.
When the first language keyboard 10A is a british language keyboard, the first key 28 may be one-five times the number of keys, the second key 30 may be one time the number of keys, and one of the key characters of the first key 28 and the second key 30 may beThe other key character is \; when the second language keyboard 10B is a japanese keyboard, the third key 32 may be a two-to-five-fold key, and the character of the third key 32 is shift. The characters of the keys in the different language keyboards, which are overlapped in position, are not limited to the above disclosed embodiments, and are determined according to design requirements, and other possible embodiments are not described herein.
The base plate 16 shown in fig. 1 may be a base plate applied to a keyboard of a different language family, such as a first base plate 16A (fig. 5) of a first language keyboard 10A of the uk family or a second base plate 16B (fig. 6) of a second language keyboard 10B of the japanese family. The first base plate 16A may have a plurality of perforated areas corresponding to the keys of the first key combination 12A. The second base plate 16B may have a plurality of perforated areas corresponding to the keys of the second key combination 12B. The plurality of perforated areas of the first bottom plate 16A are mostly identical to the plurality of perforated areas of the second bottom plate 16B, however, there are a few perforated areas that are still different. For example, the first bottom plate 16A of the first language keyboard 10A may have a first hole-breaking area 34 and a second hole-breaking area 36 corresponding to the first key 28 and the second key 30 of the first language keyboard 10A, respectively; the second bottom plate 16B of the second language keyboard 10B may have a third hole-breaking area 38 corresponding to the third key 32 of the second language keyboard 10B. The positions of the first and second perforated sections 34, 36 of the first language keyboard 10A substantially coincide with the position of the third perforated section 38 of the second language keyboard 10B.
The light guiding substrate 40 of the light guiding plate 18 may be provided with micro-diffusion dots 42 in a region corresponding to the apertures 26 of the bottom plate 16, such as the dot region shown in fig. 2. The micro-diffusion points 42 are used to break the total reflection in the light guide plate 18, so that the light passes through the broken holes 26 and irradiates the key combination 12. The location, distribution and density of micro-diffusion points 42 are determined by the keyboard of various languages. In particular, the light guiding substrate 40 may further include a difference block 44, such as a diagonal line region shown in fig. 2, in the union region of the first hole-breaking region 34, the second hole-breaking region 36 and the third hole-breaking region 38. The shape, number and location of the difference blocks 44 are determined according to the result of the union of the keyboards of different languages. The light guide plate 18 is provided with light extraction portions 46 at the difference areas 44 of the light guide substrate 40. The light extraction portion 46 functions similarly to direct light through the aperture region of the base plate 16 associated with the different language keyboard.
Thus, as shown in fig. 3 and 5, if the backlight keyboard 10 is the first language keyboard 10A, the light guide plate 18 is disposed under the first key assembly 12A and the first bottom plate 16A, and the light extraction portion 46 of the difference block 44 can guide the light to pass through the first hole breaking area 34 and the second hole breaking area 36 of the first bottom plate 16A so as to irradiate the first key 28 and the second key 30 of the first key assembly 12A; as shown in fig. 4 and fig. 6, if the backlight keyboard 10 is the second language keyboard 10B, the light guide plate 18 is disposed under the second key assembly 12B and the second bottom plate 16B, and the light extraction portion 46 of the difference block 44 can guide the light to pass through the third hole-breaking area 38 of the second bottom plate 16B to irradiate the third key 32 of the second key assembly 12B.
Referring to fig. 3, 7 and 8, the first key assembly 12A still has a portion of keys with positions different from the positions of the corresponding keys of the second key assembly 12B. For example, the position of the fourth key 48 of the first key combination 12A at the first language keyboard 10A may substantially coincide with the positions of the fifth key 50, the sixth key 52, and the seventh key 54 of the second key combination 12B at the second language keyboard 10B. The first base plate 16A of the first key combination 12A may have a fourth perforated area 56 corresponding to the fourth key 48. The second base plate 16B of the second key combination 12B may have a fifth hole-breaking area 58, a sixth hole-breaking area 60 and a seventh hole-breaking area 62 corresponding to the fifth key 50, the sixth key 52 and the seventh key 54.
The light guide plate 18 may be provided with another difference block 44 on the light guide substrate 40 in the union region of the fourth hole-breaking region 56, the fifth hole-breaking region 58, the sixth hole-breaking region 60 and the seventh hole-breaking region 62, and the difference block 44 has a corresponding light extraction portion 46. As shown in fig. 3 and fig. 7, if the backlight keyboard 10 is the first language keyboard 10A, the light guide plate 18 is disposed under the first key assembly 12A and the first bottom plate 16A, and the light extraction portion 46 of the difference block 44 can guide light to pass through the fourth hole-breaking area 56 of the first bottom plate 16A so as to irradiate the fourth key 48 of the first key assembly 12A. As shown in fig. 3 and 8, if the backlight keyboard 10 is a second language keyboard 10B, the light guide plate 18 is disposed under the second key combination 12B and the second bottom plate 16B, and the light extraction portion 46 of the difference block 44 can guide light to pass through the fifth hole-breaking area 58, the sixth hole-breaking area 60 and the seventh hole-breaking area 62 of the second bottom plate 16B so as to irradiate the fifth key 50, the sixth key 52 and the seventh key 54 of the second key combination 12B.
When the first language keyboard 10A is a british language keyboard, the fourth key 48 is five-fold key, which is defined as a blank key; when the second language keyboard 10B is a japanese-based keyboard, the fifth key 50 and the sixth key 52 are double keys, the seventh key 54 is triple keys, and one of the fifth key 50, the sixth key 52, and the seventh key 54 is defined as a blank key. The characters of the key-press with the positions of the keyboard in different languages are not limited to the above disclosed embodiments, and are not described herein for other possible embodiments depending on design requirements.
In other possible implementations, since some keys have longer structural lengths, the difference block 44 and the light extraction portion 46 disposed on the light guiding substrate 40 of the light guiding plate 18 may not cover some keys having longer structural dimensions, such as the fourth key 48 of the first key combination 12A, according to the combined result of the plural hole-breaking areas of the first bottom plate 16A and the second bottom plate 16B used in the different language keyboard, the backlight keyboard 10 of the present invention may further include the sub-difference block 64 on the light guiding substrate 40, such as the diagonal area shown in fig. 2. The location of the secondary difference block 64 does not correspond to the perforated areas of the first bottom plate 16A and/or the second bottom plate 16B, but rather corresponds to a location between the perforated areas, such as a location between the first perforated area 34 and the second perforated area 36 of the first language keyboard 10A. The light guide plate 18 may be provided with a sub-light extraction portion 66 at the sub-difference block 64. The secondary light extraction portion 66 may be used to enhance or supplement the brightness of light striking a particular key.
Referring to fig. 9, fig. 9 is a top view of a light guide plate 18 applied to a third language keyboard 10C according to an embodiment of the present invention. The third language keyboard 10C may be a U.S. language keyboard. The third key combination 12C of the third language keyboard 10C may have an eighth key 68 positioned to substantially coincide with the positions of the first key 28 and the second key 30 of the first key combination 12A or with the position of the third key 32 of the second key combination 12B. The third bottom board of the third language keyboard 10C may have an eighth hole-breaking area corresponding to the eighth key 68, and neither the third bottom board nor the eighth hole-breaking area are labeled in the drawings. The difference block 44 may be a union of the first, second, third, and eighth perforated regions 34, 36, 38, and eighth perforated regions. If the light guide plate 18 is applied to the third language keyboard 10C, the light extraction portion 46 of the difference block 44 can guide the light to pass through the eighth hole-breaking area of the third bottom plate to irradiate the eighth key 68 of the third key combination 12C.
Therefore, the keyboard with different languages is provided with the unique key combination and the base plate, however, the light guide plate of the invention can specially define the difference block according to the joint set of the plurality of hole breaking areas of the base plate with different languages on the light guide base material, and the light extraction part is arranged on the difference block, so that light can be guided to irradiate the corresponding keys of various key combinations. Compared with the prior art, when the light guide plate is simultaneously applied to keyboards of different languages, the brightness and uniformity of the backlight module are not affected, halation required by the keyboards of different languages can be considered, and light leakage is not caused, namely, the single light guide plate is compatible with the keyboards of three languages of British language, japanese language and American language, and the design and modification time and the manufacturing and storage cost can be greatly shortened.
Of course, the present invention is capable of other various embodiments and its several details are capable of modification and variation in light of the present invention by one skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
