Description

Angle support device for wall cabinets
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a support device or bracket of the angular type, suitable for anchoring pieces of furniture to a wall, in particular to a wall cupboard.
Background
Typically, the piece of furniture is made of a parallelepiped-shaped body, which, as is known, is formed by a pair of vertical and parallel sides, a top, a base and a back.
Wall cupboards, i.e. pieces of furniture that are not supported to the ground, are very appreciated in the furniture industry, and such cupboards can be fixed to a wall using suitable support devices, usually called "brackets", and are usually constrained to the sides of the pieces of furniture using suitable fixing means, and are provided with hooking means cooperating with plates or portions arranged on the wall.
Usually, the hooking means of the supporting device are adjustable both in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction by means of special adjustment screws accessible through specific openings formed on the back, so as to be able to correct also the position of the piece of furniture after fixing it to the wall. Document WO 2008129381 shows some examples of such a support device.
The fixing of the cabinet to the wall obviously places high demands on the load-resistance required for the support device, since, in addition to the weight of the support device itself, the weight of the piece of furniture at full load must also be taken into account. This is even more the case if the piece of furniture to be fixed to the wall is rather deep, such as for example a base for a kitchen or bathroom, and is provided with drawers.
In this case, considerable moments are actually generated on the supporting device and, consequently, on the sides of the piece of furniture, with the risk of undesired breakage, possibly resulting in the cabinet accidentally falling off the wall.
In order to eliminate or at least limit such risks, angular support devices are known, i.e. support devices provided with a restraining plate extending parallel to the side of the piece of furniture and fixable to the inner surface of the piece of furniture, thus giving the piece of furniture a greater resistance to bending, while also acting as a structural reinforcement of the piece of furniture.
Document EP 3289924 relates to an angular support device for wall cabinets, comprising: a first flat plate provided with an opening in which the hooking plate is inserted; and a second plate for mounting to a side of the piece of furniture, in which the first plate and the second plate are a single-piece body made of polymer material, while the hooking plate is made of metal, the edge of which is embedded in the polymer material of the first plate.
A drawback found in the angular support devices of the above type is that these are generally made of a single piece, are complex and expensive to produce.
Disclosure of Invention
The main task of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the devices of the prior art by obtaining an angular support device for wall cupboards, which is easy and cost-effective to produce, while being robust and functional.
Within the scope of the above task, an object of the present invention is to provide an angular support device for wall cupboards that is easy to assemble and install.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an angular support device for wall cupboards which is compact, i.e. has limited overall dimensions, while at the same time it is particularly stable and safe, even suitable to withstand very high loads.
Finally, another object of the present invention is to provide an angular support device for wall cupboards, the production costs of which are competitive, so that the use thereof is also advantageous from an economic point of view, and which can be obtained using commonly known systems, machines and devices.
The above task and purposes, as well as others that will become better apparent hereinafter, are achieved by means of an angular support device for wall cupboards as defined in claim 1.

Detailed Description
With reference to the figures, and in particular to fig. 1A to 1D, there is shown an angular support device 1 according to the present invention, suitable for suspending various types of furniture accessories, and in particular wall cabinets, to a wall.
In particular, said angle support device 1 is adapted to be constrained to the inner surface of a side of a piece of furniture at the rear edge portion thereof, and is provided with hooking means which, when it is mounted to the piece of furniture, will face the wall and are adapted to cooperate, at the height to which the piece of furniture is to be mounted, with specific engaging elements fixed to the wall, so as to maintain the suspended condition of the piece of furniture.
The following description relates to the angular support device 1 in use: thus, in the present description and claims, the terms "vertical", "horizontal", "high" and "low", as well as other directional terms, are to be understood as relating to the position of the piece of furniture when mounted on a wall.
The angular support device 1 comprises: a mounting body 2 for attachment to a piece of furniture, which may be constrained to the inner surface of a side of the piece of furniture at a rear edge portion of the piece of furniture; and a supporting hooking device 3 suitable for cooperating with an engagement element (not shown) fixed to the wall at the height at which the piece of furniture is to be installed, such as for example a bracket or a suitably shaped lever.
Advantageously, said angular support body 2 comprises: a support plate 10 suitable for supporting said hooking means 3; and a mounting plate 20 suitable for constraining said mounting body 2 to a piece of furniture, preferably both the support plate and the mounting plate being made of metal.
According to an advantageous feature of the invention, the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 are made of distinct and separate components, which can be joined during assembly so as to lie along mutually orthogonal planes, defining-between them-a corner 4 (indicated in fig. 1B and 1C) such that the mounting body 2 is substantially in the shape of a parallelepiped in use.
In particular, as explained in greater detail below, in the embodiment of the invention shown in fig. 1A to 3B, the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 is achieved by means of a sliding movement along the coupling direction, which is advantageously guided by means of guide means 40 provided on the mounting plate. Furthermore, advantageously, the coupling position between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 is maintained by a retaining device 44, which is preferably movable in a rotatable manner between a neutral position and a retaining position by means of plastic deformation.
Referring to fig. 2A and 2B, the respective constituent elements of the supporting apparatus 1 according to the present invention will be described below.
In particular, said angular support device 1 comprises a substantially rigid and two-dimensional support plate 10, preferably rectangular in shape, in which a through hole 11 is formed, which extends longitudinally in a region, preferably centrally with respect to the extension of the support plate, so as to allow housing of the hooking means 3.
As shown in fig. 2A and 2B, said hooking means 3 can be formed, for example, by a block 30 made of metal and a hooking element 31, generally with a circular or mushroom-shaped hooking head 31A, suitable for engaging with a suitable seat formed in an engagement element provided on the wall.
Advantageously, the hooking means 3 comprise means for adjusting the hooking position of the furniture piece: in particular, said hooking elements 31 have a threaded shank 31B adapted to be engaged in a corresponding threaded hole formed in the block 30, so that the threaded shank passes through the threaded hole according to a transverse direction, and preferably according to an orthogonal direction.
The end of the threaded shank 31B opposite the head 31A has a transverse seat 31C in which a specific tool, such as a screwdriver, can be engaged, so as to axially rotate the shank 31B and thus adjust the projection of the head 31A from the block 30 and thus improve the engagement of the head with the wall-engaging element in depth.
Moreover, said hooking means 3 preferably comprise a first grub screw 32 screwed onto a second threaded hole formed close to the upper edge of the block 30 and preferably extending along an axis inclined with respect to the block, suitable to allow vertical adjustment of the hooking of the furniture piece.
Finally, a second grub screw 33 is preferably screwed into a third threaded hole formed below said hooking element 31 and preferably close to the lower edge of the block 30: advantageously, said second grub screw 33 extends in a direction preferably orthogonal to the block 30 and is provided with a head 33A adapted to be engaged in a suitable seat provided in a wall-engaging element having an anti-release safety function.
The adjustment of said grub screws 32, 33 is carried out by acting a specific tool on the respective engagement seats 32B, 33B, which engagement seats 32B, 33B are accessible through the opposite face of the block 30 with respect to the position in which the respective head 32A, 33A protrudes, similarly to the hooking element 31 provided.
In order to facilitate the assembly of the hooking means 3 on the support plate 10, the opening 11 has an outlet 11A at the lower edge which allows the block 30 to be slidably inserted in the direction indicated by the arrow a shown in fig. 2A and 2B.
If the hooking means 3 are of the type shown in fig. 2A and 2B, the support plate 10 also comprises a hook-shaped abutment element 12 projecting with respect to the surface of the support plate 10, preferably formed at the upper edge of the opening 11; said abutment element 12 is adapted to cooperate with said first flat head screw 32 to allow adjustment of the vertical position of the block 30 with respect to the support plate 10.
Advantageously, two pairs of engagement fins 14 are formed projecting symmetrically from said support plate 10, preferably at or close to the vertex thereof, to facilitate the slidable coupling of said support plate 10 with said mounting plate 20, advantageously guided by guide means 40, as explained in greater detail below.
Said substantially rigid, two-dimensional and preferably rectangular or square mounting plate 20 can be positioned on the inner surface of the side of the piece of furniture by means of the outer face 20A, advantageously it is positioned at the rear edge portion and can be anchored in the piece of furniture, for example by inserting specific fixing means such as, for example, screws in a plurality of first through holes 21, advantageously the plurality of first through holes 21 are formed on the piece of furniture.
Alternatively, or in addition, as shown in fig. 5A and 5B, in order to allow the mounting plate 20 to be mounted on the inner side of the piece of furniture, the piece of furniture may be provided with a plurality of coupling pins 21' projecting from said outer face 20A and adapted to be inserted into a corresponding plurality of holes suitably formed in the side portion of the piece of furniture.
Advantageously, said mounting plate 20 is also provided with a plurality of second through holes 22, preferably said plurality of second through holes 22 being slot-shaped and preferably elongated in a horizontal direction, said plurality of second through holes 22 being adapted to allow fixing of the covering element 50 after the angular support device 1 has been anchored to the piece of furniture, as explained in more detail below.
According to an advantageous feature of the invention, the mounting plate 20 is provided with guide means 40 adapted to allow slidable coupling with the support plate 10. Particularly preferably, said guide means 40 substantially comprise a pair of first guide fins 41, advantageously parallel, which protrude perpendicularly with respect to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and are spaced apart at the corner portions of an inner face 20B of said mounting plate 20, opposite to an outer face 20A in contact with the surface of the side of the piece of furniture.
Advantageously, said first guide fins 41 are not directly connected to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20, but are connected continuously to a pair of edge portions 23 lying on a plane orthogonal to the lying plane of the mounting plate 20 and extending at opposite side edges of the mounting plate, so as to form corner recesses.
The guide means 40 further comprise a pair of second guide fins 42 and a pair of third guide fins 43; in particular, in the embodiment shown in fig. 2A and 2B, said second guide fins 42 and said third guide fins 43 are respectively formed so as to project perpendicularly from the first guide fins 41 at the sides and at the ends thereof, so as to form, together with the respective first guide fins 41, guides for slidably inserting the opposite edge portions of said support plate 10, advantageously said pairs of engagement fins 14, along the coupling direction B orthogonal to the mounting plate 20.
According to an advantageous feature of the invention, said mounting plate 20 further comprises retaining means 44, for example formed by at least one tooth, and preferably by a pair of teeth 44, which protrude in a coplanar manner from said second guide fin 42 and extend beyond the extension of the respective first guide fin 41, and which are advantageously movable between an intermediate position, in which they allow said support plate 10 to be slidably coupled with said mounting plate 20, and a retaining position, in which they firmly maintain the coupling position achieved, preventing the two plates 10, 20 from slipping out.
In particular, preferably, when the support plate 10 has been slidably associated with the mounting plate 20, said retaining tooth 44 is folded plastically by means of rotation about an axis X-X, advantageously orthogonal to the coupling direction B, which is vertical in use, completing the assembly of the mounting body 2.
In order to continue the assembly of the diagonal support device 1, as shown in fig. 3A and 3B, the hooking means 3 are inserted into the through holes 11 formed on the support plate 10, preferably before the hooking means 3 are fixed to the sides of the piece of furniture. Advantageously, this operation can be performed by translating said block 30, on which the hooking element 31 and the adjustment grub screws 32, 33 are screwed, in the direction indicated by the arrow a of fig. 3A, so that the block is positioned in the through hole 11, enters it through the outlet 11A and is guided by the side edges of the through hole 11.
Then, the block 30 is disposed in the opening 11 of the support plate 10 such that the head portion 32A of the first stud 32 abuts against the inner surface of the abutting element 12 formed on the support plate 10 and such that the hooking head portions 31A of the hooking elements 31 protrude in the same direction.
Subsequently, the support plate 10 supporting the hooking means 3 is coupled to the mounting plate 20, thereby forming the mounting body 2 of a dihedral shape.
Advantageously, this coupling is performed by a sliding movement of the support plate 10 along a coupling direction, indicated by the arrow B in fig. 3A, orthogonal to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20, said sliding being guided by said guide means 40.
After completion of the slidable coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20, determined by the abutment of the lateral edge of the support plate 10 with the internal face 20B of the mounting plate 20 and subsequent formation of said edge 4, said retaining tooth 44 is advantageously folded plastically by means of rotation about an axis X-X, which is substantially orthogonal to the coupling direction B and vertical, in use, as indicated by the arrow C of fig. 3B, so as to prevent a backward sliding movement that would cause uncoupling of the two plates 10, 20.
Obviously, said coupling means 3 can also be of a different type from that described above, as long as it is suitable for the purpose; for example, as shown in fig. 4A to 4C, the hooking means 3 may comprise a hooking arm 31 'provided at an upper end with a hooking element 31A' adapted to cooperate with a wall-fixed engagement element and pivoted on the block 30 by the opposite end.
In this case, said hooking means 3 can also be provided with means 32', 33' for adjusting the position, of a known and conventional type, which means 32', 33' are formed, for example, by screw and nut mechanisms, allowing to vary the position of the hooking arm 31' in depth and in vertical direction, respectively, and thus to adjust the hooking of the furniture piece to the wall.
For example, advantageously, said means 32 'for adjusting the depth position can be formed by a first screw which is screwed into a seat provided in said block 30, and the head 32A' of the means 32 'is engaged in a vertical slotted opening provided on said hooking arm 31', so that the rotation of said screw 32 'allows to vary the inclination of the hooking arm 31' with respect to the block 30.
Said means 33 'for adjusting the vertical position may alternatively be formed by a second vertically arranged screw which is screwed into a nut screw integrally joined to the hook arm 31' so that rotation of said second screw 33 'causes a vertical movement of the hook arm 31'.
The procedure for mounting the support device 3, according to this variant embodiment on the support plate 10, is substantially similar to the mounting procedure described above, except that the support plate is devoid of the abutment element 12.
Advantageously, when the angular support device 1 is associated with a piece of furniture, it is possible to attach the covering element 50 shown in fig. 6 on the surface of the mounting body 2 facing the internal cavity of the piece of furniture.
In particular, the shape of said covering element 50 substantially matches the shape of the mounting body 2 and can be fixed to the latter by slidably inserting a plurality of coupling pins 51, formed by the projection of the internal face of the covering element 50, in a corresponding plurality of second slotted openings 22 provided on the mounting plate 20 and described above.
As can be observed from fig. 7A to 7C, when the mounting body 2 has been assembled and anchored to the piece of furniture to be suspended, the covering element 50 is actually positioned on the mounting body 2, and in particular at an edge portion thereof remote from the support plate 10, by inserting the coupling pins 51 into the corresponding slotted openings 22 formed on the mounting plate 20.
Subsequently, the position of the covering element 50 with respect to the mounting body 2 can be easily adjusted by translating said coupling pins 51 into the corresponding slotted openings 22; as shown in fig. 8A to 8C, when said covering element 50 abuts against the back of the piece of furniture associated with the mounting body 2, it advantageously reaches a final position, irrespective of the thickness of the back itself and of the distance between the back and the suspension wall of the piece of furniture.
Fig. 9A and 9B show a corresponding assembly step of the angular support device according to a first variant embodiment of the invention, in which the guide means 40 and the retaining means 44 are shaped so that the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 occurs by means of a slidable movement of the latter along a coupling direction parallel to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20, and which is perpendicular, in use, to the wall for mounting the piece of furniture, indicated by the arrow B' in fig. 9A.
Similar to what has been described for the previous embodiment, the guide means 40 substantially comprise a pair of first parallel guide fins 41, advantageously projecting perpendicularly with respect to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and spaced apart at the corner portions of the internal face 20B. A pair of second guide fins 42 is also provided projecting orthogonally from said first guide fins 41, preferably the pair of second guide fins 42 being provided as the entire extension of said first guide fins.
Advantageously, said first guide fins 41 are not directly connected to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20, but are connected continuously to pairs of edge portions 23 lying on planes orthogonal to the lying plane of the mounting plate 20, and the pairs of edge portions 23 extend at opposite side edges of the mounting plate.
However, in the first variant embodiment of the mounting plate 20, said third guide fins 43 are formed at the ends of said second guide fins 42, which are located on a plane orthogonal to the second guide fins and parallel to the internal face 20B of the mounting plate 20.
On the other hand, said retaining tooth 44 extends in a coplanar manner with the end of said first guide fin 41 and is adapted to be folded plastically into a retaining position by means of a rotation C 'about a rotation axis Y-Y substantially parallel to the coupling direction B', as shown in fig. 9B.
Thus, the coupling between the support plate 10 supporting the hooking means 3 and the mounting plate 20 is advantageously carried out by a slidable movement of the support plate 10 along a coupling direction B' guided by said guide means 40 and, in particular, by said third guide fin 43 assisted by the first guide fin 41.
Furthermore, advantageously, the support plate 10 is provided with engagement elements 15 adapted to be inserted, during assembly, into corresponding cavities 25 provided on the mounting plate 20.
When the support plate 10 abuts against said second pair of guide fins 42, the slidable coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 ends, so that said edge 4 is subsequently formed.
In this connection, as shown in fig. 10A and 10B, advantageously, the retaining tooth 44 is folded plastically as indicated by the arrow C 'by means of rotation about the rotation axis Y-Y substantially parallel to the coupling direction B', so that the retaining tooth 44 is arranged at the rear of the outermost pair of engaging fins 14 of the support plate 10 and said engaging element 15 is folded plastically into the cavity 25 to prevent the support plate 10 from being accidentally uncoupled from the mounting plate 20 by the backward movement.
Fig. 11 shows the step of assembling the angular support device 1 according to a second variant embodiment of the present invention. In contrast to the above described embodiment, in this variant embodiment the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 takes place by means of at least one rotation about the vertical axis V-V.
In particular, in order to obtain the assembly of the mounting body 2, the support plate 10 is close to the mounting plate 20, so that the pairs of engagement fins 14 provided on the sides of the support plate arranged close to the mounting plate 20 are inserted into the corresponding corner recesses.
Subsequently, as indicated by the arrow D, the support plate 10 is rotated about a vertical axis V-V passing substantially through the inner edge of the dihedron, and said retaining tooth 44 is folded plastically by means of a rotation C' about a rotation axis Y-Y parallel to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and, in use, perpendicular to the wall for mounting the piece of furniture.
Fig. 12A and 12B show a further variant embodiment in which the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 occurs by means of at least one rotation about a horizontal axis O-O, as indicated by the arrow D', which is substantially defined by one of the first guide fins 41.
To this end, advantageously, the pair of engagement fins 14 provided on the support plate 10 is formed so as to project vertically to allow the insertion thereof in the corresponding pair of corner recesses provided on the mounting plate 20.
Similar to the previously described variant embodiment, the coupling between said plates 10, 20 is carried out by plastic folding of the retaining tooth 44 by means of a rotation C' about a rotation axis Y-Y parallel to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and, in use, perpendicular to the wall on which the piece of furniture is mounted.
The process for producing the angular support device 1 according to the invention therefore generally comprises the following steps:
a) associating said hooking means 3 on said supporting plate 10;
b) coupling the support plate 10 to the mounting plate 20 by means of the guide means 40 to obtain the mounting body 2;
c) the holding device 44 is moved from the intermediate position to the holding position, thereby stably maintaining the assembly of the mounting body 2.
Fig. 13 shows a plan expanded view of the mounting plate 20 according to the present invention. In fact, advantageously, at least the mounting plate 20 can be made from a flat metal sheet, wherein portions of the sheet are folded simultaneously or in a subsequent step along suitably provided weakened portions, so as to obtain pairs of fins 41, 42 and 43 forming the guide means 40, and to obtain the retaining means 44.
Advantageously, the support plate 10 can also be obtained starting from a flat metal sheet, according to a similar production process.
From the foregoing, it will thus be seen that the invention achieves the objects and advantages set forth at the outset. In fact, an angular support device for wall cupboards has been conceived, which is easy and cheap to produce and at the same time very robust and practical.
This is mainly due to the fact that: the mounting body 2 is made of two separate and independent elements which can then be assembled by means of a simple sliding or rotating movement.
Furthermore, advantageously, the coupling between the mounting plate 20 and the support plate 10 is guided by guide means which are appropriately shaped according to the chosen coupling movement and then stably maintained in a simple and immediate manner by retaining means which are movable from an intermediate position to a retaining position.
However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that: the feature that the angle support device according to the invention is compact, i.e. has limited overall dimensions, but at the same time is particularly stable and safe, is even suitable for withstanding very high loads, makes it particularly suitable for fixing to walls fairly deep furniture such as bases for kitchens or bathrooms and furniture equipped with drawers.
Naturally, numerous applications, modifications or variations of the present invention are susceptible to being made without departing from the scope of protection defined by the appended claims.
In addition, the materials and equipment used in the practice of the invention, as well as the shapes and dimensions of the various components, may be any according to requirements.
