Detailed Description
Embodiments of the present invention are described below with reference to the drawings. In the following description, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of, and enabling description for, those skilled in the art. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without some of these specific details. Furthermore, it should be understood that the invention is not limited to specific described embodiments. Rather, any combination of the features and elements described below is contemplated as carrying out the invention, whether or not they relate to different embodiments. Thus, the following aspects, features, embodiments and advantages are merely illustrative and are not considered features or limitations of the claims except where explicitly recited in a claim.
Referring now to FIG. 1, a schematic diagram of the components of a vehicle projection system is shown, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The vehicle projection system of the present invention has a control unit capable of receiving various information from various components of the vehicle and displaying it on an area around the vehicle through a projection device.
In particular, the control unit is capable of receiving information from an in-vehicle infotainment system. Thereby, the control unit can acquire the traveling route of the vehicle, thereby displaying the traveling route of the vehicle within a certain range around the vehicle, for example, on the rear of the vehicle, by the projection device. In this case, the driving route of the vehicle is displayed around the vehicle, so that information can be provided to other vehicles around the vehicle, and the other vehicles can know the driving route of the vehicle in time to take corresponding measures. For example, the current position of the vehicle is a certain distance away from the next intersection, and according to the planned route in the navigation information, the vehicle should turn right at the next intersection, and at this time, the vehicle still runs on the middle straight lane, so that after other vehicles see the running route projected by the projection system of the present invention, the other vehicles can know that the vehicle is about to merge right in advance, so that, for example, the vehicle behind the right side of the vehicle can avoid collision with the vehicle about to merge right due to accelerated overtaking.
In order to protect privacy, the control unit may determine the displayed travel route and display the determined travel route. For example, the control unit does not project the travel route within a predetermined range from the end point by the projection system of the present invention, thereby avoiding other vehicles from knowing the destination of the host vehicle. In addition, in order to make the information display more efficient, the control unit only projects the driving route when the lane where the vehicle is located and the lane to be driven are changed.
When the navigation information is displayed, the navigation information can be directly displayed by the projection equipment, or the navigation information can be displayed in other modes after being processed. For example, in the above-described example, the travel route in the navigation information may be converted into text or graphic information, such as projecting "turn right next intersection" or displaying a sign of right turn in the area around the vehicle.
The control unit can also be connected with a transmission control unit of the vehicle, so that the gear information of the vehicle is acquired, and the current gear information of the vehicle is displayed in the area around the vehicle to prompt other traffic participants. For example, when the vehicle is in reverse gear, the gear information of the vehicle can be displayed by the projection device. For example, the word "backing up" may be displayed at the rear of the vehicle, or "backing up and asking for your attention" may be displayed to remind other traffic participants to avoid. Further, it is also possible to display in different colors. In this case, for example, it may be displayed in red. In addition, the information can be displayed in a flashing manner so as to more effectively attract the attention of other traffic participants. In addition, the reversing information can be displayed in the form of pictures. For example, a red arrow pointing in the reverse direction may be displayed.
The gear information of the vehicle, particularly the reverse gear information, is displayed by the projection device of the invention, and the invention has the following advantages: when the backup light of the vehicle is damaged, the projection device can display information as a redundant device. This avoids a traffic accident caused by other traffic participants not knowing that the vehicle is going to reverse due to the broken backup light.
The control unit may also be connected to a wheel speed sensor, a brake pedal sensor of the vehicle. Therefore, when the vehicle is in running, the running speed of the vehicle can be displayed around the vehicle in real time. This applies in particular to the case of a coasting phase of the vehicle or of a broken brake light of the vehicle. When the vehicle brake lamp is damaged, other vehicles behind the vehicle cannot effectively and quickly notice that the vehicle is braking. The projection system can also be used as a backup of the brake lamp, so that the vehicle can be reminded of braking in time when the brake lamp is damaged. When the vehicle is not braked but is in a sliding state, the vehicle speed of the vehicle is still slowly reduced due to the friction resistance, but the perception of the slow reduction of the vehicle speed by other traffic participants is not obvious in the situation. After the display is displayed by the projection equipment, other vehicles behind the vehicle can clearly know that the vehicle speed of the vehicle is decreasing, so that the vehicle can timely respond. The projection device can display the speed of the vehicle in a digital form in real time.
The control unit may also be connected to other components related to the state of the vehicle. For example, the control unit may be connected to an accelerator pedal sensor of the vehicle to display information that the vehicle is accelerating. The display of this information may be in text, such as "accelerating", or in the form of a still picture or animation, such as a picture of the rocket launch, or a motion picture of the rocket launch.
As a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the control unit may also be connected to the in-vehicle infotainment system, so as to pass information in the in-vehicle infotainment system. While current vehicles have begun to be equipped with larger sized displays on the center console to enable vehicle occupants to view movies, short videos, etc. through the vehicle, the size of such displays is still extremely limited. After the projection system is adopted, when the vehicle is in a stop state, the information in the vehicle-mounted infotainment system can be displayed in the area around the vehicle through the projection equipment, so that the display effect can be effectively improved, and people can obtain better viewing experience. This is particularly applicable to camping situations in the field.
Of course, during normal driving, some pleasant pictures, such as a rainbow shown in fig. 3, for example, a blue sky and a white cloud, may also be displayed at the tail of the vehicle through the projection device by the vehicle-mounted infotainment system. This is particularly useful in traffic jams. In this case, the mood of the person may be anxious, and viewing the pictures may alleviate the anxiety. The control unit may determine whether the vehicle is in a congested road section based on information from the wheel speed sensor, so that the information may be automatically displayed.
Preferably, the projection angle of the projection apparatus of the present invention is adjustable so that a user can project the contents on the ground around the vehicle as desired, or the contents can be projected on a plane perpendicular to the ground or having a certain angle, for example, a curtain or a wall. In this way, people can also watch movies etc. in the garage.
As another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the control unit may also be connected with the intelligent terminal through a wireless connection, such as a bluetooth connection, so as to display information on the intelligent terminal on the projection device.
When the intelligent terminal is adopted, a user can customize information to be displayed, so that the displayed information content is richer.
Referring to fig. 2, the projection device in the projection system of the present invention may be installed under a rear bumper of a vehicle for projection on a projection area. In fig. 2, the projection area is located on the ground near the rear of the vehicle. Of course, the projection device may be located elsewhere on the vehicle, for example, on both sides of the vehicle. The projection area may also be adjusted according to the position of the projection device and by adjusting the projection angle of the projection device.
It should be noted that the above description is only an example and not a limitation of the present invention. Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it is not to be limited thereto. Various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the present invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from this disclosure, and it is intended that the scope of the present invention be defined by the appended claims.
