As shown in fig. 1, an embodiment of the present disclosure relates to an ink supply 100, the ink supply 100 including a carriage 110, a working ink cartridge 120, a replenishment ink cartridge 130, a spray head 140, and at least one replenishment ink line 150. The working ink cartridge 120 is fixedly arranged in the carriage 110, and the working ink cartridge 120 is communicated with the spray head 140. The replenishment cartridge 130 is located outside the carriage 110, and the ink outlet of the replenishment cartridge 130 is provided with the replenishment line 150. When the ink amount in the working ink cartridge 120 is lower than a preset value, the carriage 110 moves to the ink replenishment position, so that the working ink cartridge 120 is communicated with the replenishment ink cartridge 130 through the ink replenishment pipeline 150.
Specifically, in actual use, the carriage 110 is mounted to an image forming apparatus (such as an inkjet printing apparatus, or an inkjet copying apparatus), and the replenishment cartridge 130 is fixed to the inkjet printing apparatus side. When the image forming apparatus is turned on to print or copy, the ink stored in the working ink tank 120 is released through the nozzle 140 to complete the printing or copying operation, and when the ink amount in the working ink tank 120 is lower than a preset value, the carriage 110 is controlled to move to an ink replenishing position (such as a position of a dashed box in fig. 1) which is set according to the position of the ink replenishing tank 130, and at the same time or after the carriage 110 moves to the ink replenishing position, the working ink tank 120 and the ink replenishing tank 130 are communicated through the ink replenishing pipeline 150, so that the ink can be replenished into the working ink tank 120. After the ink replenishment, the carriage 110 is controlled to move to a working position (non-replenishment position) so that the working ink cartridge 120 is separated from the replenishment ink cartridge 130, so that the working ink cartridge 120 performs a normal printing function.
