The present invention provides a policy control method, applied to a policy control function entity, for solving the problems of consuming a large amount of signaling and PCF performance, and even causing communication interruption in the policy control scheme accessing to a 2G network in the prior art, as shown in fig. 1, including:
step 11: determining policy control information for the 2G network;
step 12: sending the policy control information to a Session Management Function (SMF); wherein the policy control information includes first sub information indicating policy shutdown or second sub information indicating a part of policies used in other networks including at least one of a 4G network and a 5G network.
Part of the strategy is determined according to the 2G capability and is matched with the 2G subscription information.
The policy control method provided by the embodiment of the invention determines the policy control information aiming at the 2G network; sending the policy control information to a Session Management Function (SMF); wherein the policy control information includes first sub information indicating policy shutdown or second sub information indicating a partial policy used in other networks including at least one of a 4G network and a 5G network; in the process of 2G, 4G and 5G interoperation, the PCF executes policy shutdown or partial policy shutdown aiming at the 2G network, so that the SMF can execute policy control according to the 2G subscription information or the policy which is sent by the PCF and is applicable to the 2G, session interruption possibly caused by unreasonable parameter mapping executed by the SMF in the prior art is avoided, and meanwhile signaling transmission of an N7 port is saved; the method well solves the problems that a policy control scheme accessed to the 2G network in the prior art consumes a large amount of signaling and PCF performance, and even causes communication interruption. The policy applicable to 2G and issued by the PCF may be direct issue or indirect issue, the direct issue may be issuing an activation event (it may also be understood that the issued information is the policy applicable to 2G), and the indirect issue may be issuing a deactivation event (it may also be understood that the issued information is the policy to be deactivated, and the SMF may obtain the policy applicable to 2G accordingly).
Wherein the sending the policy control information to a session management function SMF includes: in the process that the terminal accesses the 4G network, a response message is created through a first session management strategy, and the first sub-information is sent to the SMF; or, when the terminal is in the 4G network and session modification is performed, the first sub-information is sent to the SMF through a first session management policy update response message.
Further, after sending the first sub information to the SMF, the method further includes: receiving a second session management policy update request message sent by the SMF in a process that the terminal is switched from the 4G network to the 2G network, where the second session management policy update request message carries first indication information indicating that a type of a network to be currently accessed by the terminal is the 2G network; feeding back a second session management policy update response message to the SMF according to the first indication information, wherein the second session management policy update response message carries second indication information indicating that the issuing of the policy is refused and a first reason value; and the first reason value indicates that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network.
Wherein the determining policy control information for accessing the 2G network comprises: receiving a preset request message sent by the SMF under a preset condition; the preset request message carries third indication information indicating that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network; determining the first sub information or the second sub information aiming at accessing a 2G network according to the third indication information; and executing policy shutdown; the sending the policy control information to a session management function SMF includes: feeding back a preset response message to the SMF, where the preset response message carries the first sub-information or the second sub-information (that is, the message carries a partial shutdown or activation policy), and a second cause value; the preset condition is a condition that the terminal initially accesses a 2G network or a condition that the 5G network is switched to the 2G network, the preset request message is a session management policy creation request message, and the preset response message is a session management policy creation response message; or, the preset condition is a condition that the terminal is switched from the 4G network to the 2G network, the preset request message is a session management policy update request message, and the preset response message is a session management policy update response message; and the second reason value indicates that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network.

Wherein, the performing session management according to the policy control information includes: under the condition that the policy control information comprises the first sub-information, performing session management according to local policy configuration information or policy subscription information acquired from a preset information storage network element; or, when the policy control information includes the second sub information, performing session management according to a part of policies indicated in the second sub information. The indicated part of the policy may be an activation event (which may be understood as activated information or activated policy) or a deactivation event (which may be understood as deactivated information or deactivated policy), and is not limited herein.
The local policy configuration information and the acquired policy subscription information are respectively matched with the 2G subscription information. The local policy configuration information may include QOS parameter information and event information; the preset information storage network element can be a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) or a unified data management platform (UDM); the policy subscription information may include QOS parameter information.

The following further describes the policy control method provided by the embodiment of the present invention with reference to multiple sides, such as a policy control function entity and a session management function entity.
To solve the above technical problem, an embodiment of the present invention provides a policy control method, which can be specifically implemented as a method for performing policy shutdown or partial policy shutdown by a PCF, and relates to: in the 2G, 4G, and 5G converged architecture, if the terminal is accessed by the 2G (may be an initial access or a handover access), the PCF performs policy shutdown or partial policy shutdown. If the PCF policy is off, the SMF performs policy control based on local configuration (i.e. the local policy configuration information) or subscription information (i.e. the policy subscription information, which may also be referred to as subscription policy information); if the PCF releases the partial strategy, the SMF executes the partial strategy according to the strategy (namely the partial strategy indicated in the second sub-information) released by the PCF.
The scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention relates to the following three types:
first, PCF issues in advance an indication of 2G policy shutdown (corresponding to the situation where the first sub-information is sent via the first session management policy creation response message or the first session management policy update response message), after the terminal switches to the 2G network, SMF manages the session based on local configuration (including QOS parameter information and event information) or subscription information (including QOS parameter information), and notifies PCF, which executes policy shutdown; the subscription information may be obtained by using a home subscriber server HSS or a unified data management platform UDM;
secondly, aiming at the condition that a terminal is initially accessed to 2G or switched to 2G from 4G or 5G, the PCF executes policy shutdown on the type of a GERA (namely 2G) access network, a message returned to the SMF does not carry policy information, a carrying reason value indicates that the current PCF is in a policy shutdown state (namely the feedback preset response message carries first sub-information), and the SMF manages the session according to local configuration or subscription information;
thirdly, aiming at the condition that the terminal is initially accessed to 2G or switched to 2G from 4G or 5G, the PCF issues a strategy to the 'GERA' access type, part of the strategy used in the 4G or 5G is deactivated in the strategy (namely the feedback preset response message carries second sub-information), the SMF executes a session management function according to the strategy issued by the PCF, and the scheme can be suitable for a scene that an operator requires that the strategy is decided and issued by the PCF. The policy for the part may be determined according to the 2G capability.
The scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention is illustrated below.
Example 1 (corresponding to the first scheme described above):
the terminal accesses 4G, in the session establishment (as shown in figure 3) or update process (as shown in figure 4), the PCF issues a policy to the SMF, the policy contains an indication parameter, when the terminal is identified to be switched to the 2G network, the PCF executes policy shutdown, and the SMF manages the session based on local configuration or subscription information and notifies the PCF. Fig. 3 may be understood as a process in which SMF establishes SM Policy (session management Policy) connection with PCF, and fig. 4 may be understood as a process in which session management related Policy is updated.
1. Performing the following 1a or 1b operations:
a terminal accesses 4G, and during a session establishment procedure, may invoke Npcf _ SMPolicyControl _ Create service, where the flow is as shown in fig. 3, the SMF may send a request with a message format of POST to the PCF, the PCF replies "201 Created (i.e. creating a response message, corresponding to the first session management policy creating response message)", and a message body may include a PCC (policy and charging control) policy and Triggers (event) for triggering policy update, where the PCC policy includes a policy when the 2G access, i.e. an indication parameter indicating that policy shutdown is performed for the 2G network PCF, and the SMF manages the session according to local configuration or subscription information; the session establishment is performed during the 4G access procedure.
1b, a terminal accesses 4G, and in a session modification process, invokes Npcf _ SMPolicyControl _ Update service, where the flow is as shown in fig. 4, an SMF may send a message with a message format of POST to a PCF to request to Update SMPolicy, the PCF replies "200 OK (i.e., Update response message, corresponding to the first session management policy Update response message)", a message body may include a PCC policy and Triggers that trigger policy Update, where the PCC policy includes a policy for 2G access, i.e., an indication parameter indicating that policy shutdown is performed for a 2G network PCF, and the SMF manages a session according to local configuration or subscription information; the session update is performed after the access is completed.
2. The terminal accesses 2G (specifically, during the process of switching from 4G to 2G), the SMF performs session management based on local configuration or subscription information, and invokes a service Npcf _ SMPolicyControl _ Update (corresponding to the second session management policy Update request message) to report to the PCF, as shown in fig. 5, a message body may include smpolicymapptycontextdata (session management policy Update context data), where the message body carries parameters "RAT _ TY _ CH (radio access technology type change)" and "ratType (radio access technology type)", and a parameter value is a 2G radio access type "GERA"; the PCF identifies the 2G information and returns a Response message (i.e. the second session management policy update Response message), which indicates that the PCF rejects issuing the policy, such as "403 Forbidden", where the result value (i.e. the first result value) is carried to indicate that the current terminal is accessed by 2G, such as "GERA". Operation 2 may inform the PCF terminal of the current policy state. Fig. 5 may be understood as updating session management related policy procedures when accessing 2G.
Example 2 (corresponding to the second scenario above):
when a terminal initially accesses a 2G network or is switched to the 2G network from a 4G or 5G network (which can also be understood as the process of accessing the 2G network), the SMF initiates an SM Policy establishment or update flow to the PCF, the PCF returns a message to the SMF, the message carries a reason value to indicate that the current PCF is in a Policy shutdown state, and the SMF manages a session according to local configuration or subscription information.

when the terminal initially accesses 2G or switches from 5G to 2G (which can also be understood as 2G access process), the SMF and the PCF interactively establish an SM Policy connection, as shown in fig. 6. The SMF may send a message (i.e., the preset request message) with a message format of POST, where the message carries 2G radio access type information (i.e., a network type to be accessed) "GERA", and after detecting the 2G information, the PCF executes policy shutdown, and returns a Response message (i.e., the preset Response message) to indicate that the SMF manages a session based on local configuration or subscription information, such as "403 Forbidden", where the message carries a cause value indicating that the current terminal is accessed by 2G, such as "GERA" (corresponding to the preset Response message carrying the first sub-information and the second cause value). Fig. 6 may be understood as a terminal establishing an SM Policy connection during a 2G access procedure.
In the process of switching the terminal from 4G to 2G, the Npcf _ SMPolicyControl _ Update (corresponding to the preset request message) service is called, and the flow is as shown in fig. 6, but specific contents (such as specific used values) contained in the POST message and the Response message may be different. The SMF can send a message with a message format of POST to the PCF to request to update SMPolicy, wherein the message carries parameters of 'RAT _ TY _ CH' and 'ratType', and the parameter value is 2G wireless access type 'GERA'; the PCF identifies the 2G information, executes policy shutdown, and returns a Response message (i.e. the preset Response message) indicating that the PCF rejects issuing the policy, such as "403 Forbidden", where the cause value carried indicates that the current terminal is accessed by the 2G, such as "GERA" (corresponding to the preset Response message carrying the first sub-information and the second cause value).
And 2, after receiving the Response message, the SMF manages the session based on local configuration or subscription information.
Example 3 (corresponding to the third scheme above):
when a terminal initially accesses a 2G network or is switched to the 2G network by a 4G or 5G network (which can also be understood as the process of accessing the 2G network), the SMF initiates SM Policy establishment or update flow to the PCF, the PCF makes Policy decision, deactivates part of policies used in the 4G or 5G and sends the policies to the SMF, and the SMF executes the policies according to the policies sent by the PCF.

As can be seen from the above, the solution provided by the embodiment of the present invention involves:

(2) SMF identifies 2G access type, executes strategy control according to local configuration or subscription information, and sends POST message to PCF, which contains cell of access network type, and the value is 2G type "GERA";
(3) and the PCF executes the strategy stop and returns a message which does not carry strategy information and only indicates that the PCF knows that the terminal is accessed by the 2G network currently.
After identifying the type of the GERA access network, the PCF executes policy shutdown, issues an instruction, and notifies the SMF to manage the session based on subscription information, specifically:
(1) PCF identifies the GERA access type, makes a decision for the type and decides to execute the strategy shutdown;
(2) PCF returns message to SMF, the message contains a reason value to instruct SMF to execute policy control until switching to 4G or 5G network (i.e. corresponding to the above refusing issue policy and issuing reason value);
(3) and the SMF executes policy control based on local configuration or subscription information, manages the session until monitoring the 4G or 5G access type information, and requests a policy from the PCF again.
3, PCF identifies the type of the GERA access network, and makes policy decision, wherein part of the policy is deactivated, and the SMF manages the session according to the policy issued by the PCF, specifically:
(1) PCF identifies the GERA access type, makes a decision for the type and deactivates part of strategies;
(2) PCF returns 200OK message to SMF, the message carries 2G strategy information, wherein QoS parameter is parameter suitable for 2G.
Therefore, the scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention solves the problem of policy control of 2G network access in 2G, 4G and 5G converged network architectures. wherein the policy control information includes first sub information indicating policy shutdown or second sub information indicating a part of policies used in other networks including at least one of a 4G network and a 5G network.
2. The policy control method according to claim 1, wherein said sending the policy control information to a Session Management Function (SMF) comprises:
in the process that the terminal accesses the 4G network, a response message is created through a first session management strategy, and the first sub-information is sent to the SMF; or,
and under the condition that the terminal is in the 4G network and session modification is carried out, sending the first sub-information to the SMF through a first session management policy update response message.
3. The policy control method according to claim 2, further comprising, after sending the first sub-message to the SMF:
receiving a second session management policy update request message sent by the SMF in a process that the terminal is switched from the 4G network to the 2G network, where the second session management policy update request message carries first indication information indicating that a type of a network to be currently accessed by the terminal is the 2G network;
feeding back a second session management policy update response message to the SMF according to the first indication information, wherein the second session management policy update response message carries second indication information indicating that the issuing of the policy is refused and a first reason value;
and the first reason value indicates that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network.
4. The policy control method according to claim 1, wherein said determining policy control information for accessing a 2G network comprises:
receiving a preset request message sent by the SMF under a preset condition; the preset request message carries third indication information indicating that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network;
determining the first sub information or the second sub information aiming at accessing a 2G network according to the third indication information; and executing policy shutdown;
the sending the policy control information to a session management function SMF includes:
feeding back a preset response message to the SMF, wherein the preset response message carries the first sub information or the second sub information and a second reason value;
the preset condition is a condition that the terminal initially accesses a 2G network or a condition that the 5G network is switched to the 2G network, the preset request message is a session management policy creation request message, and the preset response message is a session management policy creation response message; or,
the preset condition is that the terminal is switched from the 4G network to the 2G network, the preset request message is a session management policy update request message, and the preset response message is a session management policy update response message;
and the second reason value indicates that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network.
5. The policy control method according to claim 4, wherein said determining the second sub-information for accessing a 2G network according to the third indication information comprises:
and determining the second sub information aiming at accessing the 2G network according to the third indication information and the 2G network capability information.

The policy control method according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein in case that the terminal initially accesses a 2G network or is switched from the 5G network to the 2G network, the second sub-information comprises: at least one of public land mobile network PLMN change information, access type change information, access network charging correlation information, identity authentication management session failure information and radio access technology type change information; and/or the presence of a gas in the gas,

sending a second session management policy update request message to the PCF in the process that the terminal is switched from the 4G network to the 2G network, wherein the second session management policy update request message carries first indication information indicating that the type of the current network access to be waited by the terminal is the 2G network;
receiving a second session management policy update response message fed back by the PCF according to the first indication information, wherein the second session management policy update response message carries second indication information indicating that the issuing of the policy is refused and a first reason value;
and the first reason value indicates that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network.
10. The policy control method according to claim 7, wherein before receiving the policy control information for the 2G network sent by the policy control function PCF, the method further comprises:
sending a preset request message to the PCF under a preset condition; the preset request message carries third indication information indicating that the type of the current network to be accessed by the terminal is a 2G network;
the receiving policy control information for the 2G network sent by the policy control function PCF includes:
receiving a preset response message fed back by the PCF according to the third indication information, wherein the preset response message carries the first sub-information or the second sub-information and a second reason value;

11. The policy control method according to claim 7, wherein said performing session management according to the policy control information comprises:
under the condition that the policy control information comprises the first sub-information, performing session management according to local policy configuration information or policy subscription information acquired from a preset information storage network element; or,
and under the condition that the policy control information comprises the second sub information, performing session management according to part of policies indicated in the second sub information.
