Detailed Description
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiments, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. When the following description refers to the accompanying drawings, like numbers in different drawings represent the same or similar elements unless otherwise indicated. The embodiments described in the following exemplary embodiments do not represent all embodiments consistent with the embodiments of the present application. Rather, they are merely examples of methods and apparatus consistent with certain aspects of the present application, as detailed in the appended claims. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the detailed description herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the scope of protection of the present application.
Fig. 1 is a system architecture of a communication system to which the following detailed description of the present application may be applied. The system architecture includes: terminal equipment A, terminal equipment B and relay terminal C.
In the prior art, the following procedure may be adopted for establishing a connection between two terminal devices a and B via the relay terminal C.
Authorization and configuration: only the terminal Equipment (UE) authorized by the Service authorization configuration can be used as a relay terminal C from the terminal to the terminal (UE-to-UE) in the Proximity-based Service (ProSe) 5G (the 5th Generation, fifth Generation communication technology). These terminal devices will be configured to operate UE-to-UE relays in compliance with the service authorization and mechanism defined in TS 23.287[5 ].
The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE relay terminal C periodically sends relay Discovery information (Discovery message) announcing that it is available for other terminal devices in the service area.
The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE relay terminal C also supports the query and response mode, and the ProSe 5G UE-to-UE relay terminal C monitors the query on the configured Layer2-ID (Layer2-Identity, Layer2 identifier), and responds with its address and corresponding information, so that other terminal devices can establish a unicast (Link) Link with the relay terminal C. This procedure is similar to the unicast L2 link establishment procedure defined in TS 23.287[4] clause 6.3.3.
A terminal device that wants to use the relay terminal C needs to establish a unicast L2 (layer 2) link with the relay terminal C through IP (Internet Protocol) configuration, and the relay terminal C allocates an IP address/prefix to other terminal devices.
As part of the unicast L2 link establishment procedure, the relay terminal C stores the identification information of the remote terminal device and the corresponding IP address/prefix assigned to the terminal device into a DNS (Domain Name Server) entry (entries), the relay terminal C acting as a DNS Server for other terminal devices.
When a source terminal device A needs to establish connection with a target terminal device B through a relay terminal C, a DNS query is sent to the relay terminal C on a unicast link based on the identification information of the target terminal device B, and the relay terminal C responds to the IP address/prefix of the target terminal device B and gives the source terminal device A.
The source terminal device a sends IP data or non-IP data encapsulated in IP to the target terminal device B over a unicast L2 link. The relay terminal C acts as an IP router and sends the packet to the unicast L2 link corresponding to the destination terminal B. Each unicast L2 link is considered an IP interface.
If multiple relay terminals are in proximity, the terminal device may select one or more relay terminals to implement establishment of a unicast L2 link based on the terminal device.
The specific protocol is as follows:
-Authorization and configuration:
-Only the UE authorized by the service authorization configuration can act as a ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay. These UEs will be configured according to the service authorization and provisioning mechanism defined in TS 23.287[5]to operate in the UE-to-UE Relay mode.
-ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay discovery:
-The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay sends out a Relay Discovery message periodically, announcing its availability for serving other UEs in the area.
-The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay also supports the query and response mode for discovery. The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay listens on a configured Layer2-ID for the query, and would respond with its address and corresponding information to enable to other UE to establish a unicast connection with it. This process is similar to the unicast L2 link establishment process as defined in TS 23.287[4]clause 6.3.3.
-ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay operation:
-Any UE that wants to make use of the ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay needs to establish a unicast L2 link with the UE-to-UE Relay, with IP configuration. The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay allocates IP address/prefix to the other UEs.
-As part of the unicast L2 link establishment process, the ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay stores an associaton of the User Info of the remote UE and the IP address/prefix allocated to the UE into its DNS entries. The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay acts as a DNS server to other UEs.
-When a(source)UE needs to communicate with another(target)UE via the ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay,it sends a DNS query for the target UE(based on Target User Info)to the ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay over the unicast link, which will return the IP address/prefix for the target UE.
-The source UE sends the IP data or non-IP data encapsulated in IP to the target UE via the unicast L2 link to UE-to-UE Relay. The ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay act as an IP router, and forward the packets to the corresponding unicast L2 link towards the target UE.Each of the unicast L2 link is treated as an IP interface.
-If there are multiple ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relays in the proximity,UE can choose either one or more ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relays to establish the unicast L2link based on UE implementation. For example, the source UE may choose to use the first ProSe 5G UE-to-UE Relay that returns a positive DNS query for the target UE.
after a plurality of terminal devices establish connection with a relay terminal, or when a plurality of remote terminals store context (the context includes identification information of the terminal device and corresponding IP address allocated to the terminal) in the relay terminal, a certain terminal device does not know which relay terminal has the context of a target terminal to establish connection, and therefore, the technical problem that the relay terminal required for establishing connection with the target terminal cannot be found exists.
The following detailed description of the present application will describe in detail how to find a relay terminal required when establishing a connection with a target terminal, so as to solve the technical problem that a relay terminal required when establishing a connection with a target terminal cannot be found.
