Description

Method for displaying Myanmar by set top box
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the field of set top boxes, and particularly relates to a method for displaying Burmese by a set top box.
Background
ASCII (American Standard Code for Information exchange Code, American Standard Code for Information exchange) is a set of coding systems based on latin letters. The encoding range is 0x00 to 0x7F, mainly used for displaying modern english. The Extended version of easci (Extended ASCII) may partially support other western european languages, and easci is an extension of ASCII code from 7 bits to 8 bits. The coding range of EASCII is 0x00 to 0xFF, and the expanded symbols include table symbols, calculation symbols, Greek letters and special Latin symbols.
Unicode is an industry standard in the field of computer science, and includes character sets, encoding schemes, and the like. Unicode is generated to solve the limitation of the traditional character encoding scheme, and sets a uniform and unique binary code for each character in each language so as to meet the requirements of cross-language and cross-platform text conversion and processing. The implementation of Unicode is different from the encoding. The Unicode encoding of a character is determined. However, in the actual transmission process, the Unicode coding is implemented differently due to the design inconsistency of different system platforms and for the purpose of saving space.
An implementation of Unicode is called Unicode Transformation Format (UTF). UTF-8 is one of the most commonly seen encoding formats. This is a variable length coding format, the purpose of which is to save memory space. All valid encoding points in the Unicode character set are encoded with one to four bytes.
UTF-8 uses the single byte of the binary value same as the ASCII code to encode the first 128 characters in the Unicode for backward compatibility with the ASCII code, and the characters correspond to the characters of the ASCII code one by one, so that the original software for processing the ASCII characters can be continuously used without or with only small modification. Since 2009 UTF-8 has been the most prominent form of encoding of the world wide web. In Unicode, a segment is defined as a range of a set of consecutive code bits. The segments are given unique names and there is no overlap between segments. For example:
the range of Basic Latin alphabet (Basic Latin) segments U +0000 to U + 007F;
latin letters Supplement-1 (Latin-1 Supplement) segment range from U +0080 to U +00 FF;
a Braille Pattern (Braille Patterns) zone range U +2800 to U +28 FF;
the range of Chinese-Japanese-Korean Uniideographs (CJK Unified ideograms) segments is U +4E00 through U +9 FFF.
Burmese belongs to the character of the Veromi series, and the writing characteristics are round. The number of characters is large, and most characters are formed by combining hundreds of graphic characters. For historical reasons, for a long time, Burma has not had an official unified coding standard, and many font manufacturers have designed and released different Burma codes, including Win Innwa, Myazedi, Zawgyi, etc. Win Innwa is the Burma character which is circulated in Burma nationwide at the earliest time, and Win Innwa is developed in an ASCII coding system of single byte coding. Essentially, the English font is changed into a shape which is incompatible with English, and the corresponding relation between a plurality of UTF-8 coded Latin characters and Win Inwa coded Burmese characters is as follows:
character encoding 0x 21: english'! ', Burmese
Figure BDA0003488399950000021
Character encoding 0x 62: english 'b', Burmese
Figure BDA0003488399950000022
Character encoding 0x 63: english 'c', Burmese
Figure BDA0003488399950000023
Although the Burma government announced that Unicode standards were adopted across the country in 2019, Burma program operators still kept using Win Innwa to encode the services offered in order to support the cost pressures of sold products and upgrading systems. The program name and electronic program list of the operation program are all Win Inwa code, the operator uses private protocol to transmit Win Inwa character string code, the starting identifier is defined as ' (', ending identifier is) ', the data between the starting identifier and the ending identifier is Win Inwa code wordA string. Generally, the set-top box supports multi-language display using a standard UTF-8 font library, and there is a conflict because Win Innwa encoding is incompatible with UTF-8 encoding. Therefore, the failure to directly use the Win Innwa word library to display Burma causes abnormal display of Latin characters, which fails to satisfy the multi-language requirements of products, and fails to simultaneously support Burma coded by Win Innwa and character strings coded by UTF-8, which fails to satisfy the product requirements of Burma operators.
The invention patent with the patent number of 201010577378.X discloses a method for displaying Burma by a set-top box, which comprises the steps of converting character strings of a Burma character library on a PC (personal computer) into dot matrix data, simultaneously recording the width and height data of each character string into the dot matrix character library, registering character strings needing to be combined with other character strings in the Burma character library, and registering the initial coordinates and the positions of the character strings participating in combination in the dot matrix character library; when the set-top box needs to display Burmese, the required character strings in the dot matrix character library are searched according to the character codes, the character data of the character strings are taken out to obtain the width and height of the character strings, the next character code needing to be combined is read, the required character strings are taken out, and the combination is carried out according to the initial coordinates and the position of the previous character string to complete the display of the complete Burmese characters. Although this method solves the problem of displaying the Burmese, it is a method of converting into a dot-matrix character library, and a standard character library processing program cannot be used, for example, the character size cannot be adjusted.
Disclosure of Invention
