Description

Bath tub
Technical Field
The present description relates to a bath, and in particular to a bath which may be provided with a hydromassage and/or lighting system.
Description framework
WO 2013/041978 describes a bath comprising an inner container having a peripheral recess disposed between upper and lower inner walls, the recess containing nozzles of a hydromassage system and lights illuminating the interior of the bath. The lower inner wall is also joined to the upper outer wall by means of an intermediate frame comprising a nozzle and a lamp, so that a cavity acting as an overflow is arranged between the upper inner wall and the upper outer wall.
However, in this known bath, the water jet ejected by the nozzles and the light beam emitted by the lamp are limited by the dimensions of the recess and by the fact that the lower inner wall is substantially aligned with the upper inner wall, so that the intermediate frame is joined to the lower inner wall by an outwardly projecting substantially horizontal portion of the lower inner wall. Furthermore, this structure is relatively expensive, since it cannot be made in one piece.
US 2004/221383 a1, DE 10315599 a1 and US 2166469 a disclose lights and/or nozzles arranged in a recess below an upper ledge of a bathtub, such that a lower edge of the recess downwardly limits the water stream ejected by the nozzle and/or the light beam emitted by the light.
Brief description of the specification
It is therefore an object of the present specification to provide a bath which does not suffer from these disadvantages. Said object is achieved by a bath whose main features are set forth in the appended claims.
Due to the special mutual arrangement (mutual arrangement) of the upper inner wall, the lower inner wall and the intermediate frame, the bath according to the description may be provided with a water massage and/or lighting system which is more efficient than the known bath.
In fact, this mutual arrangement allows not only to hide the nozzles for hydromassage and/or the lights for illuminating the bath, but also to obtain a water and/or air flow ejected by these nozzles at a relatively wide angle. For the same reason, the lamp, even if hidden, can illuminate the entire lower part of the bath, so that a lighting effect that is significantly different from that obtained with the known bath is obtained.
This improvement in the water flow and/or air flow and/or light beam may be optimised by tilting the upper inner wall, the lower inner wall, the intermediate frame and/or the upper part of the lower inner wall at a particular angle, which may be constant or variable within a particular range, in order to improve the ergonomics of the bath. For this purpose, if the bathtub comprises at least four sides having two long sides and two short sides, the two portions of the upper inner wall arranged along the short sides are preferably more inclined than the two portions of the upper inner wall arranged along the long sides.
The particular shape of the bathtub also allows to hide one or more drains connected to the overflow conduit.
Furthermore, again due to the particular mutual arrangement of the upper inner wall, the lower inner wall and the intermediate frame, the upper inner wall, the lower inner wall, the bottom wall and the intermediate frame of the bath can be made in one piece.

Exemplary embodiments
With reference to fig. 1 to 9, it can be seen that a first embodiment of a bath tub 1 comprises an inner container adapted to contain water and formed by at least one upper inner wall 2, at least one lower inner wall 3 and at least one bottom wall 4, wherein the lower inner wall 3 is arranged between the upper inner wall 2 and the bottom wall 4. In the present embodiment, the upper and lower inner walls 2, 3 are substantially pyramid frustum shapes having substantially rectangular cross-sections, rounded edges and downwardly facing vertices, but in other embodiments, the upper and lower inner walls 2, 3 may have different shapes, such as substantially pyramid frustum shapes having polygonal cross-sections, substantially conical frustum shapes having circular or elliptical cross-sections, substantially parallelepiped, substantially cylindrical, or combinations thereof, all with rounded or sharp edges and/or downwardly or upwardly facing vertices. The upper edge of the upper inner wall 2 may be joined to the inner edge of the upper frame 5, the upper frame 5 at least partially surrounding the upper inner wall 2. One or more exterior side walls 6 (shown in phantom in fig. 5 and 7) may be disposed around the bathtub 1 and/or joined to the upper frame 5, particularly via a mechanical coupling to the upper frame 5. The bottom wall 4 has substantially the same shape as the lower edge of the lower inner wall 3, in particular a substantially rectangular shape. The bottom wall 4 is preferably joined to the lower inner wall 3 by a lower frame 7, the bottom wall 4 preferably being upwardly concave, the lower frame 7 at least partially surrounding the bottom wall 4. The bottom wall 4 may be upwardly concave and/or further comprise a drain channel 8, the drain channel 8 may be partially covered by a removable cover 8 a.
The upper inner wall 2 is joined to the lower inner wall 3 by at least one intermediate frame 9, which intermediate frame 9 is at least partially surrounded by the lower inner wall 3, such that the inner edge of the intermediate frame 9 is joined to the lower edge of the upper inner wall 2 and the outer edge of the intermediate frame 9 is joined to the upper edge of the lower inner wall 3. The intermediate frame 9 may be provided with one or more lights 10, in particular one or more LED light bars, preferably arranged along the entire intermediate frame 9, adapted to project at least one light beam towards the lower inner wall 3. One or more nozzles 11, for example eighteen nozzles 11, adapted to be connected to a vortex system (not shown in the figure) may be arranged beside the upper edge of the lower inner wall 3 below the intermediate frame 9. One or more drain pipes 12 may be arranged below the intermediate frame 9 beside the upper edge of the lower inner wall 3 to connect to at least one overflow conduit 13 (in particular a curved conduit, e.g. with a bend arranged beside the upper edge of the upper inner wall 2), which at least one overflow conduit 13 may in turn be connected to the drain trough 8.
The upper inner wall 2 and/or the lower inner wall 3 and/or the bottom wall 4 and/or the upper frame 5 and/or the lower frame 7 and/or the drain sump 8 and/or the intermediate frame 9 are preferably made in one piece, in particular in a moulded piece of plastic material. Preferably, at least the upper inner wall 2, the lower inner wall 3, the bottom wall 4 and the intermediate frame 9 are made in one piece.
Referring also to fig. 10 and 11, for simplicity, the lamp 10 and the nozzle 11 are not shown in fig. 10 and 11, and it can be seen that the upper inner wall 2 may be inclined at an angle a of 0-35, in particular 9-25, relative to the vertical axis (e.g. relative to the outer wall 6), which is constant or variable within the range described, such that the upper inner wall 2 is vertical or inclined downwardly and slightly towards the centre of the bath tub 1. In this embodiment the bath tub 1 comprises at least four sides with two long sides and two short sides, wherein the two parts of the upper inner wall 2 arranged along the short sides, a part of which is shown in fig. 10, are preferably inclined by an angle a (e.g. 23 ° -25 °) which is larger than the angle a (e.g. 9 ° -11 °) of inclination of the two parts of the upper inner wall 2 arranged along the long sides of the bath tub 1, a part of which is shown in fig. 11.
The intermediate frame 9 may be inclined at an angle b of 70-110, for example 85-90, relative to the vertical axis, which is constant or variable within the range described, so that the intermediate frame 9 is horizontal or slightly inclined downwards or upwards.
The lower inner wall 3 may be inclined at an angle c of 0-35, particularly 9-25, for example 16-18, to the vertical axis, which is constant or variable within the range described, so that the lower inner wall 3 is vertical or inclined downwardly and slightly towards the centre of the bath 1.
The upper portion 3a of the lower inner wall 3 is adjacent to the intermediate frame 9 and this upper portion 3a may comprise nozzles 11 and/or drains 12, the upper portion 3a preferably being inclined at an angle d relative to the vertical axis, the angle d being comprised between-5 ° and 5 °, for example about-4 °, constant or variable within said range, so that the upper portion 3a is vertical or slightly inclined towards the centre of the bath 1 or towards the outside of the bath 1. The angle d of inclination of the upper portion 3a of the lower inner wall 3 is preferably equal to or less than the angle c of inclination of the remaining lower portion 3b of the lower inner wall 3. The upper portion 3a of the lower inner wall 3 has a height smaller than the height of the lower portion 3b of the lower inner wall 3.
The upper inner wall 2 and/or the lower inner wall 3 and/or the intermediate frame 9 may be concave, convex, or a mixture of concave and convex, in which case the angle a, the angle b, the angle c and/or the angle d may be measured with respect to a line connecting two points of the respective edges of the upper inner wall 2 and/or the lower inner wall 3 and/or the intermediate frame 9 in vertical section.
The height h1 of the upper inner wall 2 is greater than the height h2 of the lower inner wall 3.
At least a substantial part of the lower inner wall 3, in particular the entire lower inner wall 3, is preferably arranged outside a vertical axis v through the lower edge of the upper inner wall 2, with respect to the center of the bath tub 1. Furthermore, at least a majority of the lower inner wall 3, in particular the entire lower portion 3b of the lower inner wall 3, is preferably arranged in a space s arranged below the intermediate frame 9 between the inner edge of the intermediate frame 9 and the outer edge of the intermediate frame 9.
With reference to fig. 12, it can be seen that when the lamp 10 is switched on, a light beam 14 is projected, which light beam 14 covers an angle e of at least 60 ° in order to directly and at least partially illuminate the lower inner wall 3, the lower frame 7 and/or the bottom wall 4.
Referring to figure 13, it can be seen that when the spout 11 is connected to an open vortex system, the spout 11 can direct a stream 15 of water and/or air into the bath 1, the stream 15 covering an angle f of at least 60 °.
Referring to fig. 14, it can be seen that a second embodiment of the bath 1 is similar to the first embodiment, but a drain pipe 12 connected to at least one overflow conduit 13 and preferably formed by at least one channel is arranged in the upper frame 5 rather than in the lower inner wall 3, so that water in the bath 1 is drained into the overflow pipe 13 when its level reaches the upper frame 5.
Referring to figure 15, it can be seen that a third embodiment of the bath 1 is similar to the first embodiment, but the heights of the upper and lower portions 3a, 3b of the lower internal wall 3 are substantially the same.
Referring to figure 16, it can be seen that a fourth embodiment of the bath 1 is similar to the first embodiment, but the intermediate frame 9 forms an obtuse angle b.
The size of the bath tub 1 can be varied according to the number of persons to be accommodated, so that if the bath tub 1 is made large, a small swimming pool can also be formed.
Possible variations or additions may be made to the embodiments described and illustrated herein by a person skilled in the art while remaining within the scope of the following claims. In particular, further embodiments may comprise the features of one of the following claims, in addition to one or more features described in the text or shown in the drawings, alone or in any combination with each other.
