In recent years, a fuel cell has been attracting attention as a driving power source for automobiles, cellular phones, and the like. The first feed roller 12 sandwiches the electrode layer base material 8 between the 2 roller bodies, and rotates the 2 roller bodies, thereby drawing out the electrode layer base material 8 from the first feed roller 11. The first feed roller 12 is configured to be actively rotatable in response to a control signal from the control unit 7. When the rotation of the first feed roller 12 is stopped, the feeding of the electrode layer base material 8 from the first feed roller 11 is stopped, and the feeding of the electrode layer base material 8 to the first half-cut portion and the feeding from the first half-cut portion 3 are stopped.
Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view and a plan view schematically showing the electrode layer base material 8 provided with the cut portion 8C. The first half-cut portion 3 is disposed on the downstream side of the first feed roller 12. As shown in fig. 3, the first half-cut section 3 is a processing section that performs a process (first half-cut process) of dividing the membrane electrode assembly layer 80 of the electrode-layer base material 8 fed from the first feed roller 11 into the application region 8A1 and the non-application region 8 A2. The structure for the first half-cut portion 3 is described later.
As shown in fig. 3, the cutoff portion 8C is provided by cutting the electrolyte membrane 82 into a rectangular shape surrounding the single first catalyst layer 83 and the single second catalyst layer 84 located on the back side of the first catalyst layer 83. The cut portion 8C is formed of a cut surface that penetrates the electrolyte membrane 82 from the upper surface to the lower surface thereof. The cut portion 8C is formed of a cut surface extending from the upper surface of the first back plate 81 to the middle portion in the thickness direction without penetrating the first back plate 81. That is, the cut-off portion 8C does not reach the lower surface of the first back plate 81.
The first steering roller 13 moves up and down (in a direction perpendicular to the main surface of the electrode layer base material 8) according to the tension of the electrode layer base material 8 so as to make the tension applied to the electrode layer base material 8 constant. The first dancer roll 13 is moved up and down to absorb abrupt tension changes applied to the electrode layer substrate 8.
The electrolyte membrane collecting roller 14 winds up and collects the portion of the non-employed region 8A2 of the membrane electrode assembly layer 80 in the electrode layer base material 8. The non-use region 8A2 is a portion of the long-strip-shaped electrolyte membrane 82 other than the use region 8 A1. The non-employed region 8A2 of the electrolyte membrane 82 is peeled off from the electrode layer base material 8 at a position downstream of the first half-cut portion 3, and then wound up on the electrolyte membrane collecting roller 14.
Fig. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view and a plan view schematically showing the electrode layer base material 8 in which the portion of the membrane electrode assembly layer 80 not in the use region 8A2 is separated. As shown in fig. 4, by causing the electrolyte membrane recovery roller 14 to recover the non-employed region 8A2 of the electrolyte membrane 82 from the electrode layer base material 8, a single membrane electrode assembly 85 composed of a portion of the electrolyte membrane 82 in which the region 8A1 is employed, and a single first catalyst layer 83 and a single second catalyst layer 84 provided on the upper surface and the lower surface of the portion of the electrolyte membrane 82 is left on the upper surface of the first back plate 81. The membrane electrode assembly 85 is transported to the attaching mechanism 5 together with the first back plate 81.
< Second conveying mechanism 2 >)
The second conveying mechanism 2 conveys the long strip-shaped sub-gasket base material 9 (see fig. 5) to the attaching mechanism 5 along a predetermined conveying path 9TR while being supported by a plurality of rollers. The second conveying mechanism 2 includes a second supply roller 21 and a second regulation roller 22. The second conveying mechanism 2 includes a cover film recovery roller 23, and the cover film recovery roller 23 winds up and recovers an unnecessary portion peeled off from the sub-gasket base material 9 on the conveying path 9 TR.
In the present embodiment, the moving direction of the sub-gasket base material 9 moved toward the bonding mechanism 5 by the second conveying mechanism 2 is defined as the conveying direction DR3. In the conveying path 9TR, the side closer to the first supply roller 11 is the upstream side in the conveying direction DR3, and the side closer to the attaching mechanism 5 is the downstream side in the conveying direction DR3. The conveying direction DR3 coincides with the longitudinal direction of the sub-gasket base material 9. The direction orthogonal to the conveying direction DR3 and parallel to the main surface (surface with the largest area) of the sub-gasket base material 9 coincides with the width direction DR 2.
Fig. 5 is a longitudinal sectional view and a plan view schematically showing the subgasket base material 9. The sub-gasket base material 9 shown in fig. 5 is provided with a cutting portion 9C. The cutting portion 9C is a portion provided by a second half-cut portion 4 described later, and is not provided immediately after being fed out from the second supply roller 21.
As shown in fig. 5, the subgasket base material 9 has: a second back plate 91 in the form of a long strip; an elongated band-shaped sub-spacer film 92 provided on the upper surface (one side surface) of the second back plate 91; and a long strip-shaped cover film 93 provided on the upper surface (one side surface) of the sub-gasket film 92. The subgasket base material 9 is prepared by being prefabricated in an external device, not shown, and wound in a roll shape around the second supply roll 21.
As the material of the subgasket film 92, a resin having a higher mechanical strength than the electrolyte membrane 82 and an excellent shape-retaining function is preferable. As a material of the sub-gasket film 92, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PEN (polyethylene naphthalate), PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), or PS (polystyrene) is preferable. The thickness of the sub-spacer film 92 is, for example, 25 μm to 100 μm.
In the subgasket base material 9, the upper surface (one side surface) of the second back plate 91 serves as an adhesive surface on which a layer of adhesive is formed. The adhesive is, for example, a pressure-sensitive adhesive. In place of the pressure-sensitive adhesive, a thermosetting adhesive, a thermoplastic adhesive, or a UV-curable adhesive may be used. This adhesive surface of the second back plate 91 is covered with a sub-gasket film 92. For example, as the material of the second back sheet 91, PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is preferable. The film thickness of the second back plate 91 is, for example, 25 μm to 100 μm.
In the subgasket base material 9, the upper surface (one side surface) of the subgasket film 92 serves as an adhesive surface on which a layer of adhesive is formed. The adhesive surface of the sub-gasket film 92 is covered with a cover film 93. The cover film 93 is bonded with a force that can be easily peeled from the sub-gasket film 92. The material of the cover film 93 is not particularly limited, but PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is preferable, for example.
The second dancer roll 22 moves left and right (in a direction perpendicular to the main surface of the subgasket base material 9) according to the tension of the electrode layer base material 8 so as to make the tension applied to the subgasket base material 9 constant. Further, the second dancer 22 is moved laterally to absorb abrupt tension fluctuations applied to the subgasket base material 9.
The second half cut 4 is provided between the second supply roller 21 and the second regulation roller 22. The second half-cut portion 4 is a processing portion that performs processing (second half-cut processing) of dividing the cover film 93 and the sub-gasket film 92 in the sub-gasket base material 9 discharged from the second supply roller 21 into the corresponding region 9A1 and the non-corresponding region 9 A2.
As shown in fig. 5, the second half-cut process is a process of providing a cutting portion 9C on the sub-gasket base material 9. The cutting portion 9C is provided along the boundary line (cutting target line 9T) between the rectangular corresponding region 9A1 and the non-corresponding region 9A2 other than the corresponding region 9 A1. The corresponding region 9A1 is, for example, similar to the first catalyst layer 83 and is substantially the same in size. The corresponding region 9A1 may be dissimilar to the first catalyst layer 83. In addition, the corresponding region 9A1 may be larger than the first catalyst layer 83.
In this example, the second half-cut portion 4 has 2 rollers 41 and 42 which face each other vertically, and the subgasket base material 9 is passed between the 2 rollers 41 and 42. A sharp blade (Pinnacle blade) is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the roller 41 facing the cover film 93 side of the subgasket base material 9. The sharp edge has a shape corresponding to the shape (rectangle) of the corresponding region 9 A1.
The second half-cut 4 sandwiches the subgasket substrate 9 between 2 rollers 41, 42. Then, the rollers 41 and 42 rotate in synchronization with the moving speed of the subgasket base material 9 in the conveying direction DR 3. When the sharp edge provided on the outer peripheral surface of the roller 41 hits the subgasket base material 9, the cutoff portion 9C is provided on the subgasket base material 9. Thereby, the subgasket substrate 9 is cut into the corresponding region 9A1 and the non-corresponding region 9A2. The outer periphery of the roller 41 matches the interval of the cut portions 9C (in other words, the corresponding regions 9 A1) provided in the sub-gasket base material 9. By this, the rolls 41 and 42 are rotated in synchronization with the movement of the subgasket base material 9, whereby the cutting portions 9C are provided at a constant pitch to the subgasket base material 9. The rollers 41 and 42 do not always have to rotate at a speed synchronized with the moving speed of the subgasket base material 9. For example, when the sharp edge is in contact with the subgasket base material 9, the roller 41 may be rotated at a speed synchronized with the movement speed of the subgasket base material 9, and when the sharp edge is not in contact with the subgasket base material 9, the roller 41 may be rotated at a speed faster than the movement speed of the subgasket base material 9. This can shorten the interval between the cutting portions 9C provided to the subgasket base material 9, and thus can reduce the loss of the subgasket base material 9.
The rollers 41 and 42 can also be rotated by being driven by frictional resistance generated between the rollers and the subgasket base material 9. In this case, since the rollers 41 and 42 are rotated in synchronization with the moving speed of the subgasket base material 9, the control unit 7 does not need to perform synchronization control. At least one of the rollers 41 and 42 may be configured to be actively rotated by driving a motor. In this case, the control unit 7 may control the rotation of the rollers 41 and 42 according to the moving speed of the second conveying mechanism 2 with respect to the sub-gasket base material 9.
As shown in fig. 5, the cutting portion 9C is formed by a cutting surface penetrating the cover film 93 and the sub-gasket film 92. The cut portion 9C is formed of a cut surface extending from the upper surface (one side surface) of the second back plate 91 to the intermediate portion in the thickness direction without penetrating the second back plate 91. That is, the cut-off portion 9C does not reach the lower surface (the other side surface) of the second back plate 91.
The cover film recovery roller 23 winds up and recovers the portion of the subgasket base material 9 on which the cutting portion 9C is provided, which is not the corresponding region 9A2 of the cover film 93. The non-corresponding region 9A2 of the cover film 93 is peeled off from the sub-gasket base material 9 at a position between the second regulating roller 22 and the attaching mechanism 5 in the conveying path 9TR and is recovered by the cover film recovery roller 23. The cover film recovery roller 23 is an example of a peeling section.
Fig. 6 is a longitudinal sectional view and a plan view schematically showing the subgasket base material 9 after the portions of the non-corresponding regions 9A2 of the cover film 93 are separated. As shown in fig. 6, by separating the portions of the cover film 93 that do not correspond to the regions 9A2, rectangular portions, which are the corresponding regions 9A1 of the cover film 93, are left on the upper surface of the sub-spacer film 92. The rectangular portion is conveyed toward the attaching mechanism 5 together with the second back plate 91 and the sub-spacer film 92.
Fig. 7 is a longitudinal sectional view schematically showing the electrode layer base material 8 and the sub-gasket base material 9 bonded by the bonding mechanism 5. As shown in fig. 7, the attaching mechanism 5 attaches the electrode layer base material 8 (see fig. 4) with the portion of the electrolyte membrane 82 not in the use region 8A2 separated and the subgasket base material 9 with the portion of the cover membrane 93 not in the corresponding region 9A2 separated to each other. Here, the electrode layer substrate 8 and the subgasket substrate 9 are bonded so that the upper surface of the first catalyst layer 83 of the membrane electrode assembly 85 in the electrode layer substrate 8 is aligned with the upper surface of the cover film 93 in the subgasket substrate 9. In addition, the portion of the membrane electrode assembly 85 located around the first catalyst layer 83 in the electrode layer base material 8 is bonded to the surface (bonding surface) of the sub-gasket film 92 located around the cover film 93 in the sub-gasket base material 9.
In the present embodiment, the sub-gasket base material 9 is attached to the electrode layer base material 8 after the cut portion 9C is provided to the middle portion in the thickness direction of the second back plate 91 in the corresponding region 9A1 corresponding to the first catalyst layer 83. That is, the sub-gasket base material 9 is bonded to the electrode layer base material 8 without removing the corresponding region 9 A1. This can maintain the rigidity of the sub-spacer film 92 before attachment to a high rigidity, and therefore, wrinkles can be prevented from being generated in the sub-spacer film 92.
The first back sheet recovery roller 65 winds up and recovers the first back sheet 81 peeled off from the electrode layer substrate 8 bonded to the sub-gasket substrate 9 in the bonding mechanism 5. The first back sheet 81 is peeled off from the electrode layer base material 8 at a position between the attaching mechanism 5 and the sheet recovery roller 6. Thereby, a joined sheet 87 with sub-gaskets is formed (see fig. 8).
Fig. 8 is a longitudinal sectional view and a plan view showing the sub-gasketed joined body sheet 87 and the sub-gasketed membrane electrode assembly 89. The sub-gasket-attached joined sheet 87 has a structure in which the sub-gasket base material 9 is attached to one side of the membrane electrode assembly 85. In the joined sheet 87 with the subgasket, not only the periphery of the first catalyst layer 83 in the membrane electrode assembly 85, but also a portion of the first catalyst layer 83 corresponding to the region 9A1 of the subgasket membrane 92, and further a portion of the cover membrane 93 corresponding to the region 9A1 are added. This can improve the rigidity of the electrolyte membrane 82 and the first catalyst layer 83 (and thus the second catalyst layer 84), and therefore can suppress deformation such as occurrence of wrinkles in this portion.
The joined sheet 87 with the sub-gasket is wound up in a roll shape by the sheet recovery roller 6 and recovered. The joined sheet 87 with the sub-spacer is wound up by the sheet collection roller 6 in a state in which the surface on the second back plate 91 side thereof is opposed to the outer peripheral surface of the sheet collection roller 6. This can prevent the second catalyst layer 84 in the sub-gasketed joined sheet 87 from directly contacting the outer peripheral surface of the sheet recovery roller 6.
As shown in fig. 1, the sheet recovery roller 6 winds and recovers the joined sheet 87 with the sub-gasket. A motor, not shown, is connected to the rotation shaft of the sheet collection roller 6, and rotates under the control of the control unit 7.
As shown in fig. 8, when the second back sheet 91 is peeled from the joined body sheet 87 with the sub-gasket, an unnecessary portion (portion corresponding to the region 9 A1) of the sub-gasket film 92 on the inner side of the cut portion 9C and the cover film 93 can be peeled together with the second back sheet 91. Thus, the sub-gasketed membrane electrode assembly 89 can be obtained by adding the frame, that is, the portion of the sub-gasketed membrane 92 that is not the corresponding region 9A2, to the edge portion of the membrane electrode assembly 85. In the membrane electrode assembly 89 with a sub-gasket, for example, as shown in fig. 8, the sub-gasket film 92 is cut at a position of a rectangular breaking line 85C larger than the membrane electrode assembly 85 by one turn, whereby a membrane electrode assembly with a sub-gasket in which a frame-shaped sub-gasket film is added to one membrane electrode assembly 85 can be obtained.
Fig. 9 is a block diagram showing electrical connections between the control unit 7 and the respective units in the pad attachment 100. The control unit 7 controls the operations of the respective units in the gasket attaching device 100. In fig. 9, the control unit 7 is configured by a computer having a processor 71 such as a CPU, a memory 72 such as a RAM, and a storage unit 73 such as a hard disk drive, as conceptually shown. A computer program P for controlling the operation of the shim attaching device 100 is installed in the storage section 73.
< First half-cut portion 3 >)
The structure of the first half-cut portion 3 will be described with reference to fig. 10 to 13. In fig. 10 to 13, arrows showing the X direction, the Y direction, and the Z direction orthogonal to each other are shown for convenience of explanation. In the following description, the direction of the tip of each arrow is indicated as the + (positive) direction, and the opposite direction is indicated as the- (negative) direction. The X direction is parallel to the conveying direction DR1, the Y direction is parallel to the width direction DR2, and the Z direction is a direction perpendicular to the upper surface of the electrode layer substrate 8. In this example, the X-direction and the Y-direction are parallel to the horizontal plane, and the Z-direction is parallel to the vertical direction.
Fig. 10 is a view schematically showing the +x side surface of the first half-cut portion 3. Fig. 11 is a view schematically showing the +x side surface of the first half-cut portion 3. Fig. 12 is a view schematically showing the-Y side surface of the first half-cut portion 3. Fig. 13 is a diagram schematically showing the X-direction driving portion 34 of the first half-cut portion 3.
The first half-cut portion 3 is a device for performing a first half-cut process in which a rectangular cutting portion 8C (see fig. 3) is provided on the electrode layer base material 8 moving in the conveying direction DR 1. The first half-cut section 3 includes an adsorption table 30, a rotary die-cutting machine (rotary die cutter) 31, a rotary drive section 32, and a movement drive section 33.
The adsorption stage 30 adsorbs and holds the electrode layer base material 8 from the first back plate 81 side. The suction surface (+z side) of the suction table 30 has a rectangular shape in which the X direction is the longitudinal direction and the Y direction is the width direction.
The rotary die-cutting machine 31 is a cylindrical member that rotates around a rotation shaft 31A extending in the Y direction. A sharp edge 311 is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the rotary die cutter 31. The sharp edge 311 is provided with a cutting portion 8C on the electrode layer base material 8 along a cutting target line 8T (see fig. 14) around the first catalyst layer 83 in the electrode layer base material 8. In this example, the cutting portion 8C is square, and thus the sharp edge 311 is constituted by 2 widthwise portions 312 extending parallel to each other in the Y direction (widthwise direction DR 2) and 2 circumferential portions 313 extending parallel to each other in the circumferential direction of the rotary die cutter 31.
The movement driving unit 33 includes: a bridge 331 holding the rotary die cutter 31; an X-direction driving unit 34 that moves the bridge 331 in the X-direction; a Y-direction driving unit 35 for moving the bridge 331 in the Y-direction; and a Z-direction driving part 36 for moving the rotary die-cutting machine 31 in the Z-direction.
The bridge 331 includes 2 column portions 332 extending in the Z direction and disposed on the +y side and the-Y side of the adsorption stage 30, and a beam portion 333 connecting the +z side ends of the 2 column portions 332 to each other. The rotary die cutter 31 is disposed between 2 column portions 332.
The movement driving unit 33 moves the rotary die-cutting machine 31 at least to the separation position L11 (see fig. 10) and the half-cutting position L12 (see fig. 11). As shown in fig. 10, the rotary die-cutting machine 31 disposed at the separation position L11 is separated upward (+z side) from the electrode layer substrate 8 passing through the conveying path 8TR above the suction table 30. When the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is disposed at the half-cut position L12, as shown in fig. 11, the cutting portion 8C can be provided by rotating the rotary die-cutting machine 31 so that the sharp edge 311 can be brought into contact with the upper surface of the electrode layer substrate 8 sucked onto the suction table 30.
< Z-direction drive section 36 >)
The Z-direction driving unit 36 includes a Z-direction guide 361, a lifting plate 362, a spring 363, and an eccentric cam 364 on each of the +y side and the-Y side of the rotary die-cutting machine 31. The Z-direction driving unit 36 includes a rotation shaft 365 extending in the Y-direction and a Z-direction motor 366 that rotates the rotation shaft 365. The 2 eccentric cams 364 are mounted on the rotation shaft 365.
The spring 363 is disposed between the lift plate 362 and the Y-direction guide 353 on the-Z side of the lift plate 362. The spring 363 is connected to the-Z side end of the lifting plate 362, and biases the lifting plate 362 to the +z side. The +z side end of the lifter plate 362 abuts the-Z side end of the outer peripheral surface (cam surface) of the eccentric cam 364. When the eccentric cam 364 is rotated together with the rotation shaft 365, the-Z side end portion of the eccentric cam 364 is displaced in the Z direction. Thereby, the position of the lifter plate 362 pressed by the eccentric cam 364 is also displaced in the Z direction. The lift plate 362 is coupled to a Z-direction guide 361 extending in the Z-direction, and is displaced parallel to the vertical direction by the Z-direction guide 361.
Both ends of the rotary shaft 31A of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 are supported by the lifting plate 362 via bearings 32B. Thereby, the rotary die cutter 31 is moved in the Z direction together with the lifter plate 362.
< Y-direction drive section 35 >)
The Y-direction driving unit 35 includes a Y-direction motor 351 serving as a servo motor, a ball screw 352 extending in the Y-direction, and four Y-direction guides 353 extending in the Y-direction (see fig. 13). the-Z side portion of the bridge 331 is connected to each Y-direction guide 353. The ball screw 352 is coupled to a nut member provided on the-Y side surface of the bridge 331 (see fig. 10 and 12). The Y-direction motor 351 rotates the ball screw 352, thereby moving the bridge 331 in the Y-direction along the Y-direction guide 353. Thereby, the rotary die cutter 31 is moved in the Y direction.
< X-direction drive section 34 >)
The X-direction driving unit 34 includes an X-direction motor 341 as a servo motor, a ball screw 342 extending in the X-direction, and 2X-direction guides 343 extending parallel to the X-direction. The ball screw 342 is coupled to the +x side surface of the bridge 331, and the bridge 331 is moved in the X direction along the X-direction guide 343 by rotating the ball screw 342 by the X-direction motor 341. Thereby, the rotary die cutter 31 is moved in the X direction.
< Rotation driving portion 32 >)
The rotary driving unit 32 rotates the rotary die cutter 31 by rotating the rotary shaft 31A. The rotation driving unit 32 includes a rotation motor 321 and a clutch 322.
The rotating motor 321 is connected to the-Y side end of the rotating shaft 31A. The rotary shaft 31A is rotated by the rotary motor 321, and the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is rotated around the rotary shaft 31A. Both side portions of the rotation shaft 31A are supported by the +y side and-Y side lift plates 362 via bearings 32B.
The clutch 322 is provided between the rotary motor 321 and the rotary die cutter 31 in the rotary shaft 31A. The rotary shaft 31A is divided by the clutch 322 into a driving shaft (a shaft portion on the side of the rotary motor 321 than the clutch 322) and a driven shaft (a shaft portion on the side of the rotary die cutter 31 than the clutch 322). The transmission of the rotational driving force from the rotary motor 321 to the rotary die-cutting machine 31 can be disconnected or connected by disconnecting or connecting the driving shaft and the driven shaft by the clutch 322. The clutch 322 is not necessarily required, and may be omitted.
The column portion 332 on the-Y side of the bridge 331 is provided with a through hole (not shown) through which the rotation shaft 31A is inserted in the Y direction. The through hole is long in the Z direction, and is in a shape such as an oblong shape that allows the rotation shaft 31A to move up and down.
Fig. 14 is a plan view showing the suction surface 30S of the suction table 30. Fig. 15 is a plan view showing the electrode layer substrate 8 adsorbed on the adsorption surface 30S of the adsorption stage 30. The adsorption stage 30 is provided with an adsorption groove 301 on an adsorption surface 30S (+z side surface) of the adsorption electrode layer substrate 8. Further, a plurality of suction holes 302 for sucking the ambient gas are provided inside the adsorption tank 301.
The adsorption groove 301 includes a plurality of first concave portions 303 extending in the +x direction and the +y direction, and a plurality of second concave portions 304 extending in the +x direction and the-Y direction. The plurality of first recesses 303 and the plurality of second recesses 304 intersect at a plurality of intersection points 305 and join each other at the intersection points 305 thereof. In the present embodiment, a suction hole 302 is provided in a part of the plurality of intersecting points 305. It should be noted that the number of the suction holes 302 is not limited to a plurality, and may be one.
The suction hole 302 is connected to a suction unit 30P (see fig. 10) including a vacuum pump or the like via a suction pipe (not shown). The suction hole 302 sucks ambient air by the action of the suction portion 30P. The control unit 7 controls the start and stop of the suction of the ambient gas through the suction hole 302 by controlling a valve (not shown) provided in the suction pipe. When the control unit 7 starts the suction of the ambient gas through the suction holes 302, the electrode layer substrate 8 is sucked onto the suction surface 30S of the suction table 30. When the control unit 7 stops the suction of the ambient gas by the suction hole 302, the suction of the electrode layer base material 8 is released, and the electrode layer base material 8 is separated from the suction table 30 upward (+z side).
The cutting target line 8T provided in the first half-cut portion 3 and corresponding to the cutting portion 8C of the electrode layer base material 8 is a rectangle including a portion parallel to the X direction and a portion parallel to the Y direction. The suction groove 301 includes a first concave portion 303 and a second concave portion 304 intersecting a portion parallel to the X direction and a portion parallel to the Y direction in the cutting target line 8T.
Since the electrode layer substrate 8 can be adsorbed on the adsorption stage 30 along the adsorption groove 301, the displacement of the electrode layer substrate 8 in the first half-cut process can be reduced. The suction groove 301 includes a plurality of first concave portions 303 and a plurality of second concave portions 304 extending in a direction intersecting the line 8T to be cut. Thus, the electrode layer base material 8 can be held by the suction grooves 301 crossing the respective portions of the cutting target line 8T in the electrode layer base material 8. Therefore, even in a state where the sharp edge 311 touches the electrode layer base material 8, the suction table 30 can firmly hold the contact portion of the electrode layer base material 8, and therefore the cutting portion 8C can be provided on the cutting target line 8T of the electrode layer base material 8 with high accuracy.
As shown in fig. 12, the first half-cut section 3 includes an imaging section 37. The imaging unit 37 is disposed on the +z side of the suction surface 30S of the suction table 30. The photographing section 37 is provided with one or more cameras having image sensors. The imaging unit 37 images the first catalyst layer 83 in the electrode layer base material 8 adsorbed on the adsorption stage 30. The imaging unit 37 is electrically connected to the control unit 7, and transmits an image signal obtained by imaging to the control unit 7.
As shown in fig. 12, the control unit 7 functions as a position determination unit 710. The position determining section 710 is a function that the processor 71 software realizes by executing the computer program P. The location determination unit 710 may be a hardware configuration such as an application specific integrated circuit. The position determining unit 710 determines the position (for example, the center of gravity position) of the first catalyst layer 83 in the image acquired by the imaging unit 37. Further, the control unit 7 sets the cutting target line 8T based on the determined position of the first catalyst layer 83, and moves the rotary die-cutting machine 31 by operating the movement driving unit 33 based on the set cutting target line 8T.
As shown in fig. 15, the position determining portion 710 may determine, for example, four corners 831, 832, 833, 834 of the first catalyst layer 83, and determine the position of the center of gravity of the first catalyst layer 83 based on the positions of these corners. In this case, the imaging unit 37 may take images of the diagonal portions 831 to 834 with a plurality of cameras. The imaging unit 37 may take one image of the corners 831 to 834 with one camera, or may take a plurality of separate images by moving the one camera.
In addition, the position specifying unit 710 does not necessarily have to specify the position of the first catalyst layer 83 based on the positions of the corner portions 831 to 834. For example, the position determining section 710 may also determine the positions of four sides of the first catalyst layer 83, and determine the position of the first catalyst layer 83 based on their positions.
The position determining unit 710 may determine the position of the second catalyst layer 84. For example, in the case where the first back plate 81 has transparency, the imaging unit 37 may be disposed on the first back plate 81 side of the electrode layer substrate 8, and the imaging unit 37 may take an image of the second catalyst layer 84. In this case, the control unit 7 can appropriately set the cutting target line 8T based on the position of the second catalyst layer 84.
The position determining unit 710 may determine the positions of the first catalyst layer 83 and the second catalyst layer 84, and the control unit 7 may set the cutting target line 8T based on the positions. In this case, the control unit may set the line 8T to be cut with reference to, for example, an intermediate point between the center of gravity position of the first catalyst layer 83 and the center of gravity position of the second catalyst layer 84.
When the electrode layer base material 8 includes the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 having defective products such as defective products in shape, the control unit 7 may skip the defective products without performing the first half-cut process in the first half-cut unit 3. In this case, the intervals of the first half-cut processing performed on the electrode layer substrate 8 are necessarily not limited to the equal intervals.
The inspection of the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 for the qualification may be performed, for example, when the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 is provided on the electrolyte membrane 82. In this case, management data indicating whether each of the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 is acceptable or unacceptable may be prepared based on the result of the acceptable inspection. Then, in the gasket attaching device 100, by referring to the management data, the control unit 7 can execute the first half-cut process by the first half-cut unit 3 only for the region including the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 considered to be "acceptable". In this case, the unnecessary cut portion 8C can be prevented from being provided to the electrode layer base material 8, and therefore, the joined sheet 87 with the sub-gasket can be efficiently manufactured in the gasket attaching device 100. Further, the first catalyst layer 83 which is not used is prevented from adhering to the subgasket base material 9, so that wasteful consumption of the subgasket base material 9 can be prevented.
The inspection of the qualified product of the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 may be performed in the gasket attaching device 100. In this case, a camera for photographing the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 may be provided at a position between the first supply roller 11 and the first half-cut portion 3. Then, the control unit 7 may perform inspection of the first catalyst layer 83 or the second catalyst layer 84 for a good product by applying an inspection method such as pattern matching to the image obtained by the camera.
Flow of first half-cut processing
A first half-cut process performed in the gasket attachment 100 is described. First, when the first conveying mechanism 1 conveys the application region 8A1 including the first catalyst layer 83 as a good product in the electrode layer substrate 8 to a predetermined position on the adsorption table 30, the control unit 7 controls the first conveying mechanism 1 to stop the movement of the electrode layer substrate 8 in the conveying direction DR1 (+x direction). The determination as to whether or not the area 8A1 has reached the predetermined position may be performed by detecting the passage of the first catalyst layer 83 as a target using, for example, a photosensor disposed at the predetermined position on the transport path 8 TR.
After stopping the movement of the electrode layer substrate 8, the control section 7 starts sucking the ambient gas from the suction holes 302 of the adsorption stage 30. Thus, the electrode layer substrate 8 is adsorbed on the adsorption surface 30S via the adsorption groove 301.
Next, the photographing section 37 photographs the first catalyst layer 83, and the position determining section 710 determines the position of the first catalyst layer 83 in an image photographed thereby. Then, the control unit 7 sets the cutting target line 8T based on the determined position of the first catalyst layer 83.
Next, the control unit 7 moves the rotary die-cutting machine 31 from the separation position L11 (see fig. 10) to the half-cutting position L12 (see fig. 11). The half-cut position L12 is a position of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 when the cutting edge 311 of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is provided with the cutting portion 8C of the electrode layer base material 8. As described above, the cutting target line 8T differs according to the position of the first catalyst layer 83 (or the second catalyst layer 84) determined by the position determining section 710. Thus, the half cut position L12 of the rotary die cutter 31 may be changed according to the position of the first catalyst layer 83.
Before the rotary die-cutting machine 31 moves to the half-cutting position L12, the control unit 7 controls the rotary driving unit 32 to rotate the rotary die-cutting machine 31 until the sharp edge 311 of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is disposed at the initial position.
For example, as shown in fig. 11, the initial position of the sharp edge 311 may be a state in which an edge portion (here, the width direction portion 312) of the sharp edge 311 that abuts against the most upstream portion 8T1 (see fig. 15) of the cutting target line 8T is disposed at the lowermost end of the rotary die-cutting machine 31. In this case, the cutting portion 8C can be provided in the most upstream portion 8T1 of the electrode layer base material 8 by lowering the rotary die-cutting machine 31 toward the-Z side and disposing it at the half-cut position L12.
When the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is arranged at the half-cut position L12, the outer peripheral surface of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is in contact with the upper surface (the first catalyst layer 83 or the electrolyte membrane 82) of the electrode layer base material 8 adsorbed on the adsorption stage 30, and further preferably, the outer peripheral surface of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 and the adsorption surface 30S of the adsorption stage 30 are in a state of being pressed with the electrode layer base material 8 interposed therebetween. In this state, the control unit 7 rotates the rotary die-cutting machine 31 in synchronization with the movement of the upstream side (-Y side) of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 by the rotary drive unit 32 and the movement drive unit 33. Then, the cutting portion 8C along the cutting target line 8T is provided on the electrode layer base material 8 by rotating the sharp edge 311 from the initial position by a predetermined angle to the end position.
The rotary die-cutting machine 31 may be driven to rotate by frictional resistance generated between the electrode layer base material 8 and the rotary die-cutting machine 31. In this case, for example, after the tip edge 311 is moved to the initial position, the control unit 7 can cut off the connection between the driving shaft and the driven shaft of the rotating shaft 31A by controlling the clutch 322. In the half-cut position L12, the clutch 322 may be omitted when the rotary die cutter 31 is actively rotated as described above.
When the sharp edge 311 rotates to the end position, the control unit 7 moves the rotary die-cutting machine 31 upward toward the +z side and toward the separation position L11 by moving the driving unit 33. Then, the control unit 7 releases the adsorption of the electrode layer base material 8 by the adsorption stage 30. Then, the control unit 7 moves the electrode layer substrate 8 again in the transport direction DR1 by the first transport mechanism 1.
In the case of the first half-cut portion 3, the position of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 can be moved with respect to the suction table 30. Thus, the blade provided in the rotary die-cutting machine 31 can be moved relative to the electrode layer substrate 8 adsorbed on the adsorption stage 30. Therefore, the cutting portion 8C can be provided at an appropriate position of the electrode layer base material 8.
In particular, in the present embodiment, the rotary die-cutting machine 31 can be moved in the X direction (the conveying direction DR 1) and the Y direction (the width direction DR 2). Thus, the position of the cutting portion 8C can be adjusted in the direction parallel to the surface of the electrode layer base material 8. In the present embodiment, the rotary die-cutting machine 31 can be moved in the Z direction (the thickness direction of the electrode layer base material 8). This enables adjustment of the depth of the cut portion 8C provided in the electrode layer base material 8.
The first half-cut portion 3 leaves the first back plate 81 on the electrode layer base material 8 and cuts off the electrolyte membrane 82. Therefore, the membrane electrode assembly 85 provided by the first half-cut process of the first half-cut portion 3 can be left on the first back plate 81 and bonded to the sub-gasket base material 9 by the bonding mechanism 5. This can suppress the occurrence of wrinkles in the membrane electrode assembly 85 including the first catalyst layer 83 and the second catalyst layer 84.
In the first half-cut portion 3, the rotary shaft 31A of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is disposed along the width direction DR2 orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the electrode layer base material 8. In this way, the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is rotated about the rotation shaft 31A and moved in the longitudinal direction of the electrode layer base material 8, whereby the cutting portion 8C can be efficiently provided on the electrode layer base material 8.
In the first half-cut portion 3, the cutting target line 8T is determined based on the position of the first catalyst layer 83 determined by the position determining portion 710, and the half-cut position L12 of the rotary die-cutting machine 31 is set based on the cutting target line 8T. This allows the cut portion 8C to be provided with high accuracy according to the position of the first catalyst layer 83.
In the spacer attaching device 100, the first conveying mechanism 1 conveys the electrode layer substrate 8 in the conveying direction DR1 while alternately moving and stopping the electrode layer substrate 8 on the adsorption stage 30. Then, in a state where the electrode layer base material 8 is stopped by the spacer attaching device 100, the movement driving unit 33 moves the rotary die-cutting machine 31 to the half-cut position L12. This can improve the positional accuracy of the cut portion 8C provided in the electrode layer base material 8.
Structure of the attaching mechanism 5
The structure of the attaching mechanism 5 will be described with reference to fig. 16 and 17. In fig. 16 and 17, arrows indicating the X direction, the Y direction, and the Z direction orthogonal to each other are added for convenience of explanation. The +X direction coincides with the conveying direction DR1, and the-X direction coincides with the conveying direction DR 3. In addition, the Y direction is parallel to the width direction DR 2.
Fig. 16 and 17 are side views schematically showing the attaching mechanism 5. As described with reference to fig. 7, the bonding mechanism 5 is a device for bonding the electrode layer substrate 8, in which the portion of the electrolyte membrane 82 not in the use region 8A2 is separated, to the subgasket substrate 9, in which the portion of the cover membrane 93 not in the use region 9A2 is separated. The attaching means 5 attaches the electrode layer base material 8 and the sub-gasket base material 9 in a state where the first catalyst layer 83 and the cut portion 9C (the corresponding region 9 A1) are aligned with each other by performing alignment processing described later. The attaching mechanism 5 includes a first attaching roller 51, a second attaching roller 52, an adsorbing mechanism 53, an attaching roller moving driving section 54, a first imaging section 55, and a second imaging section 56.
The first bonding roller 51 is a cylindrical member that holds the electrode layer base material 8 on the outer peripheral surface, and rotates around a rotation shaft 51A extending in the width direction DR 2. The first bonding roller 51 holds the electrode layer base material 8 from the first back plate 81 side. The outer peripheral surface of the first application roller 51 may be made of rubber, for example.
The second application roller 52 is a cylindrical member that holds the sub-gasket base material 9 on the outer peripheral surface. The second application roller 52 rotates about a rotation shaft 52A extending in the width direction DR 2. The second application roller 52 holds the sub-gasket base material 9 from the second back plate 91 side. The first and second bonding rollers 51 and 52 may be driven rollers that passively rotate by frictional resistance received from the electrode layer base material 8 and the sub-spacer base material 9. The first and second application rollers 51 and 52 may be rotated actively. That is, a servo motor, not shown, may be connected to the rotary shafts 51A and 52A, and the control unit 7 may control the servo motor to rotate the first and second pasting rollers 51 and 52.
The second application roller 52 is arranged parallel to the first application roller 51. The suction mechanism 53 is a mechanism for sucking the sub-gasket base material 9, which is the object to be held by the second bonding roller 52, onto the outer peripheral surface of the second bonding roller 52.
The suction mechanism 53 includes a porous member 531 provided on the outer peripheral surface of the second application roller 52, and a suction portion 532 connected to the porous member 531. The porous member 531 has a large number of micropores, and is made of a porous material such as porous carbon or porous ceramic. The porous ceramic is, for example, a sintered body of alumina (Al 2O3) or silicon carbide (SiC). The pore diameter of the porous member 531 is, for example, 5 μm or less, and the porosity is, for example, 15% to 50%.
Instead of the porous member 531, a member made of metal such as stainless steel or iron such as SUS may be used. In this case, minute adsorption holes may be formed in the outer surface of the metal member by machining. The diameter of the adsorption hole is, for example, 2mm or less to suppress the generation of adsorption marks.
The suction portion 532 is constituted by a vacuum pump or the like, and is connected to the porous member 531 via a suction pipe. By the driving of the suction portion 532, the ambient gas in the vicinity of the outer surface of the porous member 531 is sucked by the plurality of holes. Thereby, the sub-gasket base material 9 is adsorbed on the outer peripheral surface (outer surface of the porous member 531) of the second application roller 52. Here, the second attaching roller 52 adsorbs and holds the sub-gasket base material 9 from the second back plate 91 side. As described above, in the present embodiment, the second application roller 52 is configured as a suction roller.
The bonding roller movement driving section 54 moves the second bonding roller 52. The bonding roller movement driving unit 54 includes an approaching/separating direction driving unit 54X and an axial direction driving unit 54Y. As shown in fig. 16 and 17, the approaching/separating direction driving unit 54X moves the second application roller 52 in a direction approaching the first application roller 51 (-X direction) and in a direction separating from the first application roller 51 (+x direction).
The approaching/separating direction driving unit 54X includes: an X-axis table 541, a linear drive mechanism (for example, a linear motor mechanism, a ball screw mechanism, or the like) for moving the X-axis table 541 in the X-direction, a guide portion for guiding the X-axis table in the X-direction, and the like. The linear motion driving mechanism of the approaching/separating direction driving unit 54X is electrically connected to the control unit 7, and operates in response to a control signal from the control unit 7.
The axial direction driving unit 54Y moves the second application roller 52 in the Y direction parallel to the width direction DR2 (axial direction) in which the rotation shaft 52A of the second application roller 52 extends. The axial direction driving unit 54Y includes: a Y-axis table 542, a linear drive mechanism (e.g., a linear motor mechanism, a ball screw mechanism, or the like) for moving the Y-axis table 542 in the Y-direction, a guide portion for guiding the Y-axis table in the Y-direction, and the like. The linear drive mechanism of the axial drive unit 54Y is electrically connected to the control unit 7, and operates in response to a control signal from the control unit 7. The axial direction driving unit 54Y is provided on the X-axis table 541, and moves along the X-direction together with the X-axis table.
The rotary shaft 52A of the second bonding roller 52 is connected to the Y-axis table 542 of the axial driving unit 54Y via a connecting member 543. Thus, as the Y-axis table 542 moves in the Y direction, the second application roller 52 moves in the Y direction. In addition, as the X-axis table 541 moves in the X direction, the second bonding roller 52 moves in the width direction DR 2.
The first imaging unit 55 is disposed so as to face the +z side surface (the surface on the first catalyst layer 83 side) of the electrode layer substrate 8 held by the first bonding roller 51. The second imaging unit 56 is disposed so as to face the +z side surface (surface on the cover film 93 side) of the sub-gasket base material 9 held by the second application roller 52. The first photographing part 55 and the second photographing part 56 are respectively constituted by one or more cameras having image sensors. The first imaging unit 55 and the second imaging unit 56 are electrically connected to the control unit 7, and transmit an image signal detected by the image sensor to the control unit 7.
The first imaging unit 55 images the +z side surface (i.e., the surface on the first catalyst layer 83 side) of the electrode layer substrate 8 held by the first application roller 51. The second imaging unit 56 images the +z side surface (i.e., the surface on the cover film 93 side) of the sub-gasket base material 9 held by the second application roller 52.
The attaching mechanism 5 includes a photosensor 551 disposed upstream of the first imaging unit 55 in the conveying direction DR 1. The light sensor 551 is, for example, a reflective type, and detects light reflected by the first catalyst layer 83 in the electrode layer substrate 8. The light sensor 551 may be a transmissive light sensor. The optical sensor 551 is electrically connected to the control unit 7, and outputs a detection signal. The control unit 7 detects that the first catalyst layer 83 reaches the measurement point of the optical sensor 551 based on the detection signal from the optical sensor 551. The control unit 7 can measure the length of the first catalyst layer 83 in the X direction (transport direction DR 1) based on the distance traveled by the electrode layer substrate 8 from the start of detection of the first catalyst layer 83 to the end of detection by the optical sensor 551.
As shown in fig. 16, the control unit 7 functions as a first position measurement unit 711 and a second position measurement unit 712. The first position measuring unit 711 and the second position measuring unit 712 are functions that are software implemented by the processor 71 executing the computer program P. The first position measuring unit 711 and the second position measuring unit 712 may be configured by hardware such as an application specific integrated circuit.
Fig. 18 is a plan view schematically showing the membrane electrode assembly 85 on the electrode layer base material 8. The first position measuring unit 711 determines the position of the electrode layer substrate 8 based on the image acquired by the first imaging unit 55. More specifically, the first position measuring unit 711 specifies the position (the positions in the transport direction DR1 and the width direction DR 2) of the first catalyst layer 83 in the image acquired by the first imaging unit 55. For example, as shown in fig. 18, the first position measuring unit 711 measures the positions of intersections CL1, CL2 between the center line LX1 of the transport direction DR1 of the first catalyst layer 83 and the side edges LS1, LS2 of the first catalyst layer 83 parallel to the X direction. The position of the center line LX1 can also be determined, for example, based on the length dimension of the first catalyst layer 83 in the X direction. The sides LS1 and LS2 can be detected by applying a known image process such as a binarization process or an edge extraction process to the image acquired by the first imaging unit 55. The first position measuring unit 711 may calculate the center of the position of the intersection points CL1 and CL2 as the position of the first catalyst layer 83.
The first position measuring unit 711 may detect four corners 831 to 834 (see fig. 15) or four sides of the first catalyst layer 83, and determine the position of the first catalyst layer 83 based on the positions thereof.
The second position measuring unit 712 determines the position of the sub-gasket base material 9 based on the image acquired by the second imaging unit 56. More specifically, the second position measuring unit 712 detects the cutting unit 9C provided on the sub-gasket base material 9 in the image obtained by the second imaging unit 56, and determines the position of the cutting unit 9C (the position in the conveying direction DR1 and the position in the width direction DR 2) based on the position.
During the period in which the first bonding roller 51 and the second bonding roller 52 are not bonded, as shown in fig. 17, the first bonding roller 51 and the second bonding roller 52 are separated from each other in the X direction. In this state, the electrode layer substrate 8 and the sub-gasket substrate 9 are aligned. During the bonding between the first bonding roller 51 and the second bonding roller 52, as shown in fig. 18, the first bonding roller 51 and the second bonding roller 52 are brought close to each other. At the bonding position LA1 where the first bonding roller 51 and the second bonding roller 52 are closest to each other, the electrode layer substrate 8 and the sub-gasket substrate 9 are bonded to each other to form a bonded body. In the spacer attaching device 100, the first back plate 81 of the electrode layer base material 8 is peeled off immediately after the bonded body is formed at the bonding position LA 1. Thus, a sub-gasketed joined body sheet 87 (shown in fig. 8) having the membrane electrode assemblies 85 at equal intervals was obtained. The joined sheet 87 with the sub-gasket is conveyed in the conveying direction DR4 and is collected by the sheet collecting roller 6.
Fig. 19 is a diagram showing a flow of the bonding process in the bonding mechanism 5. First, the electrode layer substrate 8 is conveyed in the +x direction by the first conveying mechanism 1, and the first catalyst layer 83 to be bonded (i.e., the application region 8 A1) is detected by the photosensor 551. The control unit 7 stores the detection start time in the memory 72. The control unit 7 may store the amount of movement of the electrode layer substrate 8 from the detection start time to the detection end time when the first catalyst layer 83 is not detected in the memory 72 as the length dimension in the X direction of the first catalyst layer 83.
When the first catalyst layer 83 reaches the imaging position of the first imaging unit 55, the control unit 7 stops the conveyance of the electrode layer substrate 8 by the first conveying mechanism 1 (step S21). Then, the first position measuring unit 711 of the control unit 7 determines the position of the first catalyst layer 83 based on the image obtained by the first imaging unit 55 (step S22).
On the other hand, when the cutting unit 9C reaches the imaging position of the second imaging unit 56, the control unit 7 stops the conveyance of the sub-gasket base material 9 by the second conveying mechanism 2 (step S23). Then, the second position measuring unit 712 of the control unit 7 determines the position of the cutting unit 9C (corresponding region 9 A1) based on the image obtained by the second imaging unit 56 (step S24).
The control unit 7 performs the processing of steps S23 and S24 in parallel with the processing of steps S21 and S22.
Next, the control unit 7 performs alignment processing (step S25). That is, the control unit 7 controls the axial driving unit 54Y to move the second application roller 52 in the width direction DR2 (axial direction) so as to correct the displacement of the first catalyst layer 83 and the cutting unit 9C in the width direction DR2 (axial direction).
The control unit 7 controls one of the electrode layer substrate 8 and the sub-gasket substrate 9 by controlling the first conveying mechanism 1 or the second conveying mechanism 2 so as to correct the displacement of the first catalyst layer 83 and the cutting unit 9C in the conveying directions DR1 and DR 3. Thus, the first catalyst layer 83 and the cutting portion 9C can be aligned at the bonding position LA1 (contact position) in the bonding mechanism 5.
When the alignment process in step S25 is completed, the control unit 7 brings the second application roller 52 close to the first application roller 51 (step S26). Thus, the electrode layer substrate 8 and the sub-gasket substrate 9 are in contact with each other at the bonding position LA1 between the first bonding roller 51 and the second bonding roller 52.
Next, the control unit 7 restarts the conveyance of the electrode layer substrate 8 and the sub-gasket substrate 9 by the first conveying mechanism 1 and the second conveying mechanism 2. In this way, the bonding mechanism 5 starts bonding the electrode layer base material 8 and the sub-gasket base material 9. In addition, the first catalyst layer 83 (the use region 8 A1) and the cut portion 9C (the corresponding region 9 A1) are bonded in a state of being aligned by the alignment process in step S25.
In the present embodiment in the gasket attachment 100, the sub-gasket base material 9 can be sucked and firmly held by the second application roller 52 that moves in the width direction DR2 (axial direction). Thus, when the second bonding roller 52 is moved in the width direction DR2, the sub-gasket base material 9 can be restrained from being displaced on the second bonding roller 52. Accordingly, the electrode layer base material 8 and the sub-gasket base material 9 can be aligned with high accuracy in the width direction DR2, and therefore the sub-gasket base material 9 can be favorably attached to the electrode layer base material 8.
The second bonding roller 52 for sucking and holding the sub-gasket base material 9 is moved in the approaching/separating direction with respect to the first bonding roller 51. Thus, when the second application roller 52 is moved in the approaching/separating direction, the sub-gasket base material 9 can be restrained from being displaced on the second application roller 52.
In the present embodiment, the suction mechanism 53 is provided in the second application roller 52 holding the sub-gasket base material 9, but this is not essential. That is, the porous member 531 may be provided on the outer peripheral surface of the first bonding roller 51 holding the electrode layer substrate 8, and the electrode layer substrate 8 may be sucked and held on the first bonding roller 51. Further, the first bonding roller 51 may be moved in the axial direction (width direction DR 2) and the approaching/separating direction (X direction) by connecting the bonding roller movement driving unit 54 to the first bonding roller 51.

Claims (8)

1. A device for producing a membrane electrode assembly with a subgasket, wherein a subgasket base material containing a subgasket membrane is added to an electrode layer base material containing a membrane electrode assembly in which a catalyst layer is provided on the surface of an electrolyte membrane, the device comprising:
A first bonding roller for holding the electrode layer base material on the outer peripheral surface;
a second application roller for holding the sub-gasket base material;
an adsorption mechanism for adsorbing the object to be held on the outer peripheral surface of one of the first and second bonding rollers; and
And an axial driving unit for moving the one application roller in the axial direction.
2. The manufacturing apparatus of membrane electrode assembly with sub-gasket according to claim 1, wherein,
The apparatus further includes an approaching/separating direction driving unit that moves the one of the pair of attaching rollers in an approaching/separating direction to and from the other of the pair of attaching rollers.

A method for producing a membrane electrode assembly with a subgasket, wherein a subgasket base material including a subgasket membrane is added to an electrode layer base material including a membrane electrode assembly in which a catalyst layer is provided on the surface of an electrolyte membrane, the method comprising:
a step (a) of holding the electrode layer base material on the outer peripheral surface of the first bonding roller;
a step (b) of holding the sub-gasket base material on the outer peripheral surface of the second bonding roller;
a step (c) of adsorbing the object to be held on the outer peripheral surface of one of the first and second bonding rollers; and
And (d) moving the one attaching roller in the axial direction.
