5. The brake assembly for spindles of claim 1, further comprising a spool coupling flange, wherein the brake drum is secured to the rotating shaft by the spool coupling flange.
6. The brake assembly for spindles of claim 1, wherein there are two of said brake pads, and said tumbler is adapted to simultaneously engage the free ends of the two brake pads.
