Background
In WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks, wireless local area network), a networking architecture of AC (Access Controller ) and AP (Access Point) may be used, and the AC centrally controls and manages multiple APs. The AC establishes a CAPWAP tunnel with the AP through a CAPWAP (Controlling and Provisioning of Wireless Access Point, wireless access point control and supply) protocol, and issues configuration information to the AP through the CAPWAP tunnel, and the AP completes self configuration by utilizing the configuration information. When the version of the AP needs to be upgraded, the AC also transmits the latest version file to the AP through the CAPWAP tunnel, and the AP upgrades the version of the AC by using the latest version file.
Since the AC typically manages a large number of APs, such as thousands of APs, when a large number of APs all need to be upgraded, the AC needs to send the latest version file to the large number of APs, which not only results in heavy load of the AC, but also results in a longer version upgrade time of the APs in the entire WLAN.

Next, embodiments of the present application will be described in detail.
The embodiment of the application provides a version upgrading method, which is applied to an AC, as shown in fig. 1, and can include the following steps:
s11, address information and version identification of all APs managed by the AC and address information of gateway equipment accessed by all APs are obtained.
In this step, the address information of each AP includes only the MAC address of the AP, and the address information of the gateway device to which each AP accesses includes only the MAC address of the gateway device to which the AP accesses, or,
the address information of each AP may include a private IP address and a MAC address of the AP, and the address information of the gateway device to which each AP accesses may include a private IP address and a MAC address of the gateway device to which the AP accesses.
S12, grouping all the APs according to the acquired address information and version identification to obtain each AP group.
In this step, the gateway devices accessed by the APs in the same AP group are the same, and the version identifiers of the APs in the same AP group are the same.
S13, when receiving a version upgrading request message sent by any one of all the APs, searching an AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP carried in the version upgrading request message from each AP group.
And S14, if the number of the APs which send the version upgrading request message in the searched AP group is not less than the set number, sending a version upgrading response message which only carries the equipment information of the APs which finish version upgrading in the searched AP group to the APs, so that the APs select the equipment information meeting the preset condition from the equipment information, acquire the latest version file from the APs corresponding to the selected equipment information, and carry out version upgrading according to the acquired version file.
In this step, the set number is the number of APs that the AC sets for the found AP group and directly obtains the latest version file from the AC.
In addition, the device information of the AP with the version upgrade may be carried in a Tag Length Value (TLV) field in the version upgrade response message, and may include information such as a MAC address, a private IP address, a device model number, and a version number of the corresponding AP.
Specifically, in the above step S11, the AC may acquire address information and version identification of all access points APs managed by the AC, and address information of gateway devices to which all APs access, by:
receiving CAPWAP control messages sent by each AP after the AC is associated;
acquiring address information and version identification of the AP and address information of gateway equipment accessed by the AP from the CAPWAP control message;
when the address information of the AP only includes the MAC address of the AP and the address information of the gateway device accessed by the AP only includes the MAC address of the gateway device accessed by the AP, the MAC address of the gateway device accessed by the AP is located in the TLV field in the CAPWAP control message;
when the address information of the AP includes a private network IP address and a MAC address of the AP, and the address information of the gateway device to which the AP accesses includes a private network IP address and a MAC address of the gateway device to which the AP accesses, the private network IP address of the AP, and the MAC address and the private network IP address of the gateway device to which the AP accesses are located in TLV fields in the CAPWAP control message.
Here, the CAPWAP control message may also carry information such as a device model of the AP.
It should be noted that, after the execution of the step S13, if the number of the APs that have sent the version upgrade request message in the found AP group is smaller than the set number, the AC may directly respond to the version upgrade request message sent by the AP according to the existing manner, that is, send a version response request message carrying the latest version file to the AP, so that the AP performs version upgrade according to the latest version file carried in the received version response request message.
That is, for any AP group, the AC only directly provides the latest version file for the APs (which may be marked as the APs of the first upgrade version) that have previously set a number of APs in the AP group that send version upgrade request messages; for the APs in the AP group, which send the version upgrade request message after the APs, the AC does not directly provide the latest version file, but sends a version upgrade response message carrying the device information of the APs in the AP group, which have completed version upgrade, to the APs, so as to guide the corresponding AP to obtain the latest version file from one of the APs corresponding to the device information, thereby reducing the load of the AC.
Here, the set numbers corresponding to all AP groups may be identical, for example, the set numbers corresponding to all AP groups may be set to one fixed value by AC.
Of course, the set number corresponding to all AP groups may not be the same, for example, the set number corresponding to each AP group may be obtained by multiplying the total number of all APs in the AP group by the set percentage by AC.
It should be further noted that, after executing the step S14, for the subsequent AP, the AP may select, from the device information of the AP with the version upgrade completed carried in the version upgrade response message, the device information satisfying the preset condition; then, the AP may send a version upgrade request message to the AP corresponding to the selected device information, so as to obtain the latest version file; finally, the AP may perform version upgrade according to the obtained version file.
Here, when the AP selects the device information satisfying the preset condition, the AP may randomly select one piece of device information, so as to avoid that multiple APs in the AP group where the AP is located send a version upgrade request message to the AP that has completed version upgrade, which results in a larger load of the AP that has completed version upgrade.
Of course, the AP may select the AP device information closest to the AP, and the present application does not limit the selection method of the AP device information.
After the version upgrade is completed, the AP can be re-associated with the AC, and the AC can timely update the version information of the AP.
The embodiment of the application also provides a version upgrading method, which is applied to the AP, as shown in fig. 2, and the method can comprise the following steps:
s21, when version upgrading is needed, a version upgrading request message is sent to the AC associated with the AP.
The manner of determining when the AP needs to perform the version upgrade is known in the art, and will not be described in detail herein.
S22, receiving a version upgrading response message sent by the AC.
S23, if the version upgrading response message only carries the device information of other APs, selecting the device information meeting the preset condition from the device information of other APs.
In this step, when the version upgrade response message is an AC receiving the version upgrade request message, the AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP carried in the version upgrade request is searched from the AP groups, and the AP group is sent when the number of APs that have sent the version upgrade request message in the searched AP group is not less than the set number.
Here, each AP group is obtained by grouping all APs according to address information of all APs managed by the acquired AC and gateway devices to which the APs are connected.
The address information of each AP only comprises the MAC address of the AP, and the address information of the gateway device accessed by each AP only comprises the MAC address of the gateway device accessed by the AP; or, the address information of each AP includes a private IP address and a MAC address of the AP, and the address information of the gateway device to which each AP accesses includes a private IP address and a MAC address of the gateway device to which the AP accesses.
And, the gateway devices accessed by the APs in the same AP group are the same, and the version identifiers of the APs in the same AP group are the same.
The set number is the number of APs which are set by the AC for the found AP group and directly acquire the latest version file from the AC, and the setting manner of the set number is described when the version upgrade method is described on the AC side, which is not described in detail herein.
S24, acquiring the latest version file from the AP corresponding to the selected equipment information, and carrying out version upgrading according to the acquired version file.
Specifically, in the step S23, when the AP selects the device information satisfying the preset condition from the device information of the other APs, one piece of device information may be selected randomly from the device information of the other APs, so as to avoid that the plurality of APs in the AP group where the AP is located send the version upgrade request message to the AP which has completed the version upgrade, which results in a larger load of the AP which has completed the version upgrade.
Of course, the AP may select the AP device information closest to the AP, and the present application does not limit the selection method of the AP device information.
It should be noted that, after executing the step S22, if the AP finds that the version-up response message carries the latest version file, the AP performs version-up according to the latest version file.
Here, when the version upgrade response message is an AC receives the version upgrade request message, the AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP carried in the version upgrade request message is searched from the AP groups, and the AP group is sent when the number of the APs that have sent the version upgrade request message in the searched AP group is compared to be smaller than the set number.
The version upgrade method described above is described in detail with reference to specific embodiments.
It is assumed that a certain AC in a certain WLAN manages n APs, which are AP1, AP2, AP3, AP4 … … and APn, respectively.
After the APs 1, 2, 3, 4, … … and APn successfully associate with the AC, the CAPWAP control message is sent to the AC through the CAPWAP tunnel established between the AP and the AC. Each CAPWAP control message carries the MAC address and the private network IP address of the corresponding AP, the version identifier of the corresponding AP, and the MAC address and the private network IP address of the gateway device to which the corresponding AP is connected, and the private network IP address of the corresponding AP, and the MAC address and the private network IP address of the gateway device to which the AP is connected are all located in the TLV field in the CAPWAP control message.
The AC receives CAPWAP control messages sent by the APs, and obtains the MAC address and the private network IP address of each AP, the version identification of the AP, and the MAC address and the private network IP address of gateway equipment accessed by the AP.
And then, the AC groups all the APs according to the acquired address information and version identification to obtain each AP group.
Assuming that a certain AP group (e.g., AP group 1) includes AP1, AP2, AP3 and AP4, a specific presentation manner may be shown in table one below.
List one
As shown in fig. 3, assume that the AC first receives the version upgrade request packet 1 sent by the AP1, and searches, from the AP groups, for an AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP1 carried in the version upgrade request packet 1, where the search result is AP group 1.
The AC compares the number of APs in the AP group 1 that have sent the version upgrade request message with the set number, and since the former number is 0 and the latter number is 2, the number of APs in the AP group 1 that have sent the version upgrade request message is smaller than the set number, at this time, the AC considers that the AP1 is the AP of the first upgrade version, marks it (as shown in the following table two), and sends the version response request message 1 carrying the latest version file to the AP 1.
Watch II
After receiving the version response request message 1, the AP1 carries out version upgrading according to the latest version file carried in the version response request message 1, and associates with the AC again after successful upgrading.
After the AP1 successfully associates with the AC again, the AC updates the relevant version information of the AP1 in the AP group 1, as shown in table three below.
Watch III
Next, it is assumed that the AC receives the version upgrade request packet 2 sent by the AP2, and the AC searches, from the AP groups, for an AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP2 carried in the version upgrade request packet 2, where the search result is AP group 1.
The AC compares the number of APs in the AP group 1 that have sent the version upgrade request message with the set number, and since the former number is 1 and the latter number is 2, the comparison result is that the number of APs in the AP group 1 that have sent the version upgrade request message is smaller than the set number, at this time, the AC considers that AP2 is also the AP of the first upgrade version, marks it (as shown in the following table four), and sends the version response request message 2 carrying the latest version file to AP 2.
Table four
After receiving the version response request message 2, the AP2 carries out version upgrading according to the latest version file carried in the version response request message 2, and associates with the AC again after successful upgrading.
After the AP2 successfully associates with the AC again, the AC updates the relevant version information of the AP2 in the AP group 1, as shown in table five below.
TABLE five
And subsequently, supposing that the AC receives the version upgrading request message 3 sent by the AP3, the AC searches the AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP3 carried in the version upgrading request message 3 from all the AP groups, and the searching result is AP group 1.
The AC compares the number of APs in the AP group 1 that have sent the version upgrade request message with the set number, and since the former is 2 and the latter is 2, the comparison result is that the number of APs in the AP group 1 that have sent the version upgrade request message is equal to the set number, at this time, the AC considers that the AP3 is not the AP of the first upgrade version, and the AC sends, to the AP3, a version upgrade response message 3 that only carries device information (e.g., MAC addresses including the AP1 and the AP2, private network IP addresses, device model numbers, version identifiers, etc.) of the AP1 and the AP 2.
After receiving the version upgrading response message 3, the AP3 randomly selects one piece of equipment information from the pieces of equipment information carried in the version upgrading response message 3, and supposes that the equipment information of the AP1 is selected, the AP3 sends a version upgrading request message 4 to the AP1, carries out version upgrading according to the latest version file carried in the version upgrading response message 4 replied by the AP1, and associates with the AC again after successful upgrading.
After the AP3 successfully associates with the AC again, the AC updates the relevant version information of the AP3 in the AP group 1, as shown in the following table six.
TABLE six
The process flow when the AC receives the version upgrade request message 4 sent by the AP4 is similar to the process flow when the AC receives the version upgrade request message 3 sent by the AP3, and will not be described in detail herein.
According to the technical scheme, in the embodiment of the application, the AC firstly groups all APs according to address information and version identifiers of the APs managed by the AC and address information of gateway equipment accessed by all APs, then, when receiving a version upgrading request message sent by any AP, the AC firstly searches an AP group corresponding to the MAC address of the AP carried in the version upgrading request from each AP group, then, when comparing that the number of APs which have sent the version upgrading request message in the found AP group is not less than the set number, the AC sends a version response message carrying only equipment information of the AP which has completed version upgrading in the found AP group to the AP, so that the AP selects equipment information meeting preset conditions from the equipment information, obtains the latest version file from the AP corresponding to the selected equipment information, and carries out version upgrading according to the obtained version file.
Therefore, in the version upgrading process of the whole AP, the AC does not provide the corresponding latest version file independently, and part of APs which have completed version upgrading also participate in providing the latest version file, so that the load of the AC is greatly reduced, and the version upgrading time of the APs in the whole WLAN is shortened.
Based on the same inventive concept, the present application further provides a version upgrade device, where the version upgrade device is applied to an AC, and a structural schematic diagram of the version upgrade device is shown in fig. 4, and specifically includes:
an obtaining module 41, configured to obtain address information and version identifiers of all access points APs managed by the AC and address information of all gateway devices accessed by the APs, where the address information of each AP includes only a MAC address of the AP, and the address information of each gateway device accessed by the AP includes only a MAC address of the gateway device accessed by the AP, or the address information of each AP includes a private network IP address and a MAC address of the AP, and the address information of each gateway device accessed by the AP includes a private network IP address and a MAC address of the gateway device accessed by the AP;
the grouping module 42 is configured to group all APs according to the obtained address information and version identifier, so as to obtain each AP group, where the gateway devices accessed by the APs in the same AP group are the same, and the version identifiers of the APs in the same AP group are the same;
The searching module 43 is configured to, when receiving a version upgrade request packet sent by any AP of all APs, search, from the AP groups, an AP group corresponding to a MAC address of the AP carried in the version upgrade request packet;
and a sending module 44, configured to send, if the number of APs that have sent the version upgrade request message in the found AP group is not less than the set number, a version upgrade response message that only carries device information of APs that have completed version upgrade in the found AP group to the AP, so that the AP selects device information that satisfies a preset condition from the device information, obtains a latest version file from an AP corresponding to the selected device information, and performs version upgrade according to the obtained version file, where the set number is the number of APs that are set by the AC for the found AP group and directly obtain the latest version file from the AC.
Preferably, the obtaining module 41 is specifically configured to:
