Abstract
The present invention relates to a portable socket holder for a socket or drill bit connectable to a power tool. The portable socket holder includes socket compartments for different types of sockets or drills. The portable slot bracket further comprises a visual indication means arranged to visually indicate the slot compartment. Further, the portable slot bracket includes a positioning device configured to obtain a parameter value related to a position of the portable slot bracket. The portable slot bracket further comprises a processor and a memory containing instructions executable by the processor, wherein the portable slot bracket is operative to visually indicate the slot compartment by means of a visual indication device based on a parameter value related to the position of the portable slot bracket.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates generally to accessories for power tools and, more particularly, to portable jack stands.
Background
Different types of power tools are commonly used in various industries. One type of power tool is a power tool for tightening a screw or bolt. These power tools are provided with a rotatable output shaft on which a drill bit or socket is arranged. The drill bit or socket is adapted to the particular type of screw or bolt that should be tightened. It is also important that the power tool be set in the correct mode of operation for the type of screw or bolt that should be tightened. This is to tighten the screw or bolt, for example, to the correct torque or angle.
Not only the type of screw or bolt that should be tightened affects the tightening procedure that the power tool is commanded to set, but also the type of joint in which the screw or joint is located.
Thus, it is important to select the correct drill bit or socket for a particular screw joint, as well as to select the correct mode of operation for the power tool.
Accordingly, there is a need for a solution that solves or at least alleviates the problem of selecting the correct drill bit or socket and setting the power tool in the correct mode of operation in order to tighten the screw joint.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore desirable to provide a portable socket holder for sockets or drills that provides support for an operator to safely obtain the correct assembly operation by selecting the correct socket or drill at different designated locations on the object to be assembled. To address one or more of these problems, a slot mount as defined in the independent claims is provided. Preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, a portable socket holder for a socket or drill bit connectable to a power tool is disclosed. The portable socket holder includes socket compartments for different types of sockets or drills. The portable slot bracket further comprises a visual indication device arranged to visually indicate the slot compartment. The portable slot bracket further includes a positioning device configured to obtain a parameter value related to a position of the portable slot bracket. Further, the portable slot bracket includes a processor and a memory containing instructions executable by the processor, wherein the portable slot bracket is operative to visually indicate the slot compartment by means of a visual indication device based on a parameter value related to a position of the portable slot bracket.
According to a first aspect, the portable socket holder provides an inventive solution to the above-mentioned problems by means of a design incorporating visual indication means arranged to visually indicate the socket compartment based on the position of the portable socket holder.
Thus, the portable socket holder according to the disclosure provides improved quality control and improved safety by providing an inventive structure, i.e. the portable socket holder is further arranged to visually indicate the socket compartment based on the position of the portable socket holder, thus also reducing the risk of selecting a wrong socket or drill bit.
This is because the operator is guided to the socket or socket compartment from which the drill bit should be removed. And wherein the guiding is based on the position of the portable socket holder, the inventive design of the socket holder according to independent claim 1 solves the problem of choosing the correct socket or drill bit for the particular screw or bolt to be screwed.
According to one embodiment, the parameter value associated with the position of the portable slot bracket is a position. In one embodiment, this location may be determined by the portable slot bracket itself. Or in another embodiment, the location is determined outside of and sent to the portable slot support. The parameter value associated with the portable slot bracket may also be a value determined based on the location. The position may be a position related to the position of the screw joint that should be tightened. Or to the working area in which the screw joint should be tightened. The parameter value associated with the position may also be an absolute position.
According to one embodiment, the portable socket holder is further operative to assist in setting the power tool in a correct mode of operation based also on the position of the portable socket holder. Thus, the correct mode of operation of the power tool is used with the correct socket or bit for a particular screw joint at a particular location. Accordingly, the production quality can be improved because it can be ensured that the power tool is set in the correct operation mode of the screw joint that should be screwed down. For example, the mode of operation may be torque and/or angle, or a tightening strategy for a particular screw joint.
According to one embodiment, the portable socket holder is further operative to visually indicate the correct socket compartment based on a fastening procedure commanded to be performed by the power tool. In this embodiment, the portable socket holder also contemplates a fastening procedure that the power tool should use when visually indicating the socket compartment. For example, if there are several screw joints at a particular location, the electric tool sometimes needs to be set in different modes of operation depending on which screw joint should be tightened. These screw joints also typically require different sockets or bits. Thus, there is an advantage in that the portable slot bracket can also consider a fastening procedure when visually indicating the slot compartment, so that the correct slot is used for fastening that should be performed.
According to one embodiment, the portable socket holder is further operative to initiate a setting of a correct tightening procedure for commanding the power tool to perform based on a parameter value related to the position of the portable socket holder. In this embodiment, the portable slot initiates the correct setup of the fastening procedure. One advantage of this embodiment is that the power tool is automatically set up in the correct tightening procedure for the position of the portable socket holder.
According to another embodiment, the portable socket holder is further operative to sense whether the socket or drill bit has been removed from the socket compartment. Thus, if an incorrect socket or drill bit has been removed from the tight-fitting compartment, the portable socket compartment may notify the operator or initiate any other action.
According to another embodiment, the portable slot bracket is further operative to: if the operator removes a slot from a slot compartment that is not visually indicated, the operator of the portable slot bracket is notified. In this embodiment, the quality may be further improved, as the operator may then change the socket or bit to the correct socket or bit.
In yet another embodiment, the portable slot bracket is further operative to: if the operator removes the socket or drill bit from the socket compartment, which is not visually indicated, the power tool is locked. In this embodiment, the quality may be improved still further, since the tightening operation cannot be performed with the power tool if the operator removes the wrong socket or bit from the socket compartment.
In yet another embodiment of the portable socket holder, the portable socket holder further comprises at least one power tool compartment and a visual indication device arranged to visually indicate the power tool compartment based on the visually indicated socket compartment. Thus, the portable socket holder may be further operable to indicate a power tool that should be used for a particular tightening operation.
In yet another embodiment of the portable slot bracket, the portable slot bracket is further operative to: if the distance between the power tool and the portable socket holder exceeds a threshold distance, the power tool is locked. Thus, if the power tool is located away from the portable socket holder, the power tool is locked. An advantage of this embodiment is that the power tool may cease to perform the tightening operation if the power tool is not located close to the portable socket holder.
According to a second aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method in a portable socket holder for a socket or drill bit connectable to a power tool. The objects, advantages and features which are conceivable within the scope of the second aspect of the invention are readily understood from the preceding discussion of the first aspect of the invention.
Further objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent when studying the following detailed disclosure, drawings and appended claims. Those skilled in the art realize that different features of the present invention can be combined to create embodiments other than those described in the following.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of an exemplary portable socket holder 10 for a socket or drill bit that is connectable to a power tool. The portable socket holder 10 comprises at least one socket compartment 20 for different types of sockets or drills. The portable socket holder 10 further comprises a visual indication means 30 arranged to visually indicate the socket compartment 20. The portable slot bracket 10 further comprises a positioning device configured to obtain a parameter value related to the position of the portable slot bracket. Further, the portable slot bracket comprises a processor 160 and a memory 260, the memory 260 containing instructions executable by the processor, wherein the portable slot bracket 10 is operative to visually indicate the slot compartment 20 by means of the visual indication device 30 based on parameter values related to the position of the portable slot bracket.
As described above, the parameter value associated with the position of the portable slot bracket may be a position. In one embodiment, this location is determined by the portable slot bracket itself. In another embodiment, the location is determined outside of the portable slot support and sent to the portable slot support. The parameter values associated with the portable slot bracket may also be values determined based on location. The position may be a position related to the position of the screw joint that should be tightened. Or to the working area in which the screw joint should be tightened. The parameter value related to the position may also be an absolute position.
In one embodiment, the portable socket holder 10 is further arranged to command the power tool to perform based on the visual indication of the tightening procedure.
The visual indication means 30 may be of many different types. According to one embodiment, the visual indication means 30 is an LED lamp surrounding the at least one socket compartment 20.
According to one exemplary embodiment, the portable socket holder 10 is further operative to visually indicate the socket compartment 20 based on a tightening procedure commanded to be performed by the power tool. In one exemplary embodiment, the visual indication device 30 is first illuminated, which indicates that the operator should use a socket or drill bit from the visually indicated socket compartment. In another exemplary embodiment, the operator first removes the socket or drill bit from the socket compartment 20. The portable socket holder is then operated to illuminate the visual indication means 30 associated with the compartment 20 from which the operator moves the socket or drill bit.
As described above, in one exemplary embodiment, the portable socket holder 10 is further operative to initiate the setting of the correct tightening procedure to be performed by the power tool based on the visually indicated socket compartment. In one exemplary embodiment, the visual indication device 30 is first illuminated and the power tool is placed in a tightening procedure that should be used for the socket or drill bit associated with the visually indicated socket compartment 20. In another exemplary embodiment, the operator first removes the socket or bit. Then, the visual indication means 30 associated with the socket compartment 20 from which the socket or drill bit is removed is illuminated and the portable socket holder 10 initiates the setting of the correct tightening procedure for the power tool.
Also as described above, but not shown in fig. 1, according to one exemplary embodiment, the portable socket holder 10 is further operative to sense whether a socket or drill bit has been removed from the socket compartment. In one embodiment, the portable socket holder senses whether the socket or drill bit has been removed by means of an optical or magnetic sensor. In a more specific embodiment, the portable slot bracket 10 is further operative to: if the operator removes a socket or drill bit from a visually non-indicated socket or drill bit compartment, the operator of the portable socket holder 10 is notified. In a further embodiment, the portable slot bracket is further operative to: if the operator removes the socket or drill bit from the socket compartment, which is not visually indicated, the power tool is locked.
In yet another embodiment, the portable slot bracket 10 is further operative to restore the position of the portable slot bracket 10, and wherein the portable slot bracket 10 is further operative to visually indicate the slot compartment based on the position of the portable slot bracket 10. Since the type of bolt and screw varies depending on the location of the screw joint, the portable slot bracket may accommodate visual indication of the slot compartment based on the location of the portable slot bracket.
In yet another embodiment, the portable socket holder 10 further comprises at least one power tool compartment and a visual indication device arranged to: the power tool compartment is visually indicated based on the visual indication of the socket compartment. Thus, the operator can be guided to select the correct power tool based on which socket or bit should be used.
In yet another embodiment, the portable slot bracket 10 is further operative to: if the distance between the power tool and the portable socket holder exceeds a threshold distance, the power tool is locked. Thus, it can be ensured that the power tool is not used for fastening operations in which the correct socket or drill bit has been selected and the correct fastening tab element has been selected.
The portable socket holder 10 further comprises a processor 160, said processor 160 being arranged to control the cordless power tool 100. The cordless power tool 100 also includes a memory 260, the memory 260 containing instructions executable by the processor 160. The processor 160 is a central processing unit CPU, a microcontroller, a digital signal processor DSP, or any other suitable type of processor capable of executing computer program code. Memory 260 is a random access memory RAM, read only memory ROM, or permanent storage, such as magnetic, optical, or solid state memory, or even a single or combination of remotely mounted memory.
Fig. 2 shows a flow chart of a method in a portable socket holder 10 that can be connected to a socket or drill bit of a power tool. The portable socket holder 10 includes a socket compartment and a fastening tab element compartment for different types of sockets or drills. The method comprises a first step S100 of obtaining a parameter value S100 related to the position of the portable socket holder. A second step S200, namely visually indicating a socket compartment 20 for a socket or drill bit that should be connected to the power tool, based on the parameter values related to the position of the portable socket holder.
According to one exemplary embodiment, the method comprises: the socket compartment is visually indicated based on a tightening procedure commanded to be performed by the power tool.
In yet another embodiment, the method further comprises: the setting of the correct tightening procedure to command the power tool to perform is initiated based on a parameter value related to the position of the portable socket holder.
In a further embodiment, the method further comprises: sensing whether the socket or drill bit has been removed from the socket compartment.
In another embodiment, the method comprises: the operator of the portable socket holder 10 is visually notified if he removes the socket or drill bit from the socket compartment, which is not visually indicated.
In yet another embodiment, the method further comprises: if the operator removes the socket or bit from the socket holder, which is not visually indicated, the power tool is locked.
In yet another embodiment, the method further comprises: if the portable socket holder is located outside the allowable area, the power tool is locked.
According to one aspect, the present disclosure further relates to the above-described computer program comprising computer readable code that, when run on the portable socket holder 10, causes the cordless power tool 100 to perform any of the aspects of the disclosure described herein.
When the above-described computer program code is run in the processor 160 of the portable slot bracket 10, it causes the portable slot bracket 10 to operate to visually indicate the correct slot compartment by means of the visual indication means 30 based on the parameter values associated with the position of the portable slot bracket.
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the processor 160 includes one or more of the following:
a position module 161 adapted to obtain parameter values related to the position of the portable slot holder;
a visual indication module 162 adapted to visually indicate from which socket compartment the socket or drill bit should be removed based on a parameter value related to the position of the portable socket holder.
The modules 161 and 162 are implemented in hardware or software, or a combination of hardware and software. According to one aspect, modules 161 and 163 are implemented as computer programs stored in memory 260 and running on processor 160. The portable slot bracket 10 is further configured to implement all aspects of the present disclosure as described herein.

Those skilled in the art will appreciate that many modifications, variations and alterations are conceivable within the scope defined by the appended claims. In addition, variations to the disclosed embodiments can be understood and effected by those skilled in the art in practicing the claimed invention, from a study of the drawings, the disclosure, and the appended claims. In the claims, the word "comprising" does not exclude other elements or steps, and the indefinite article "a" or "an" does not exclude a plurality. The mere fact that certain measures are recited in mutually different dependent claims does not indicate that a combination of these measures cannot be used to advantage. Any reference signs in the claims shall not be construed as limiting the scope of the claims.
Claims (11)
1. A portable socket holder (10) for a socket or drill bit connectable to a power tool, the portable socket holder (10) comprising:
a socket compartment (20) for different types of sockets or drills;
-visual indication means (30) arranged to visually indicate the slot compartment (20);
a processor (160) comprising a positioning module (161), the positioning module (161) being adapted to obtain an absolute position of the portable slot bracket;
a memory containing instructions executable by the processor such that the portable slot support (10) is operative to visually indicate the slot compartment (20) based on an absolute position of the portable slot support by means of a visual indication device (30);
wherein the portable socket holder (10) is further operative to: if the absolute position of the portable socket holder is outside the allowable area, the power tool associated with the portable socket holder is locked.
2. The portable socket holder (10) of claim 1, wherein the portable socket holder (10) is further operative to: the correct slot compartment is visually indicated based on the fastening procedure that the power tool is commanded to perform.
3. The portable socket holder (10) of claim 2, wherein the portable socket holder (10) is further operative to: the setting of the correct tightening procedure that the power tool should perform is initiated based on the absolute position of the portable socket holder.
4. A portable socket holder (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the portable socket holder (10) is further operative to: sensing whether the socket or drill bit has been removed from the socket compartment.
5. The portable socket holder (10) of claim 4, wherein the portable socket holder (10) is further operative to: if the socket or drill bit is removed from the visually non-indicated socket compartment, the operator of the portable socket holder (10) is notified.
6. A method in a portable socket holder (10), the portable socket holder (10) comprising a socket compartment for a socket or drill bit connectable to a power tool and a visual indication device (30), the visual indication device (30) being arranged to visually indicate the socket compartment (20), the method comprising the steps of:
acquiring (S100) an absolute position of the portable socket holder;
-visually indicating (S200) a socket compartment (20) for a socket or drill bit that should be connected to the power tool based on the absolute position of the portable socket holder; and
if the absolute position of the portable socket holder is outside the allowable area, the power tool associated with the portable socket holder is locked.
7. The method of claim 6, wherein the step of visually indicating the slot compartment (20) further comprises: the socket compartment (20) is visually indicated based on a tightening procedure commanded to be performed by the power tool.
8. The method of claim 7, further comprising the step of:
the setting of the tightening procedure that commands the power tool to perform is initiated based on the absolute position of the portable socket holder.
9. The method according to any one of claims 6 to 8, further comprising the step of:
sensing whether the socket or drill bit has been removed from the socket compartment.
10. The method of claim 9, further comprising the step of:
if the socket or drill bit is removed from the visually non-indicated socket compartment, the operator of the portable socket holder (10) is notified.
11. A computer readable storage medium comprising computer code which, when run in a processor of a portable slot holder (10), causes the portable slot holder (10) to perform the method according to any one of claims 6 to 10, the portable slot holder (10) being a portable slot holder according to claim 1.
