Abstract
To greatly improve the solubility of a high-bulk-density granular detergent compsn. in cold water by compounding a specific &alpha -sulfo fatty acid ester and a specific fatty acid salt in a specified wt. ratio. This detergent compsn. contains a 12-18 &alpha -sulfo fatty acid ester salt (A) and a fatty acid ester (B) contg. lower than 35wt.% 14C, 16C, and 18C satd. fatty acid esters in an amt. of ingredient A of 5wt.% or higher, in an amt. of the sum of ingredients A and B of lower than 50wt.%, pref. 7-45wt.%, and in a wt. ratio of ingredient A to ingredient B of from 0.3 to lower than 3.0, pref. 0.37-2.7. The method for producing the compsn. is not specifically limited. For instance, both ingredients are slurried, spray-dried to give a dry power in the form of hollow beads having a bulk density of 0.2-0.5g/ml, and granulated by using, e.g. an agitating tumbling granulator, a high-speed agitating granulator, or a horizontal mixer to give the compsn. having a bulk density of 0.6-1.2g/ml.

(3) component (A) and weight ratio (B) ((A)/(B)) are at least 0.3/1 and be lower than 30/1;
Component (A): the alpha-sulfo fatty acid ester salt that comprises the fatty acid part of 12 to 18 carbon atoms; With
