Detailed Description
The following description of the technical solutions according to the embodiments of the present application will be given with reference to the accompanying drawings in the embodiments of the present application, and it is apparent that the described embodiments are some embodiments of the present application, but not all embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be made by those skilled in the art based on the embodiments of the application without making any inventive effort, are intended to be within the scope of the application.
Turning first to the application scenario of the present application, fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of a communication system suitable for use with the present application.
The communication system 100 comprises a network element 110 and a terminal device 120. Terminal device 120 may be in communication with network element 110. For example, the terminal device 120 may communicate with the network element 110 through radio waves, or may communicate with the network element 110 through an optical fiber or cable.
In the present application, the terminal device 120 may include various handheld devices, vehicle mounted devices, wearable devices, computing devices, or other processing devices connected to a wireless modem, such as a third generation partnership project (3 rd generation partnership project,3 GPP) defined User Equipment (UE), mobile Station (MS), soft terminal, home gateway, set top box, etc.
The network element 110 may be an access network device or a core network device compliant with 3GPP specifications, e.g. fifth generation (5 th generation, 5G) base stations (gNB) or AMFs in a communication system. The network element 110 may also be a non-3GPP (non-3 GPP) network device, such as an Access Gateway (AGF). The network element 110 may also be a relay station, an access point, an in-vehicle device, a wearable device, and other types of devices.
The communication system 100 is merely illustrative, and a communication system to which the present application is applied is not limited thereto.
The terminal device 120 may transmit data using different access technologies. For example, the terminal device 120 may communicate with a 3GPP core network (e.g., the network element 110 in FIG. 1) via a 3GPP access network, and the terminal device 120 may also communicate with the 3GPP core network via a non-3GPP interworking function (non-3GPP interworking function,N3IWF). The terminal device 120 transmits data with the 3GPP core network through a session, and in order to improve the rate and flexibility of transmitting data by the terminal device 120, the terminal device 120 may transmit data with the 3GPP core network through a session corresponding to different access technologies, for example, the terminal device 120 may associate two sessions corresponding to different access technologies, and transmit data from the application layer through the two sessions. The method of associating sessions provided by the present application will be described in detail below. For brevity, the terminal equipment and network elements will not be attached with reference numerals.
Fig. 2 is a schematic flow chart of a method for associating sessions provided by the present application. The method may be performed by a terminal device or a chip in a terminal device, the method comprising:
s210, the terminal device receives first indication information, where the first indication information is used to indicate that the session can be used for the etasss.
The first indication information may be a dedicated field in the message. For example, the terminal device receives a message including a dedicated field with a size of 1 bit, and when the value of the dedicated field is "0", indicates that the session of the terminal device cannot be used for the etasss; when the value of the special field is '1', indicating that the session of the terminal equipment can be used for eATSSS; the special field with the value of "1" is the first indication information.
The first indication information may also be a field multiplexed in the message, and the specific form of the first indication information is not limited in the present application.
S220, the terminal equipment associates the first session and the second session according to the first indication information.
After receiving the first indication information, the terminal equipment determines that the session of the terminal equipment can be used for the eATSSS, and can associate the first session with the second session.
The specific manner in which the terminal device associates the first session with the second session is not limited, for example, the terminal device may locally store a parameter that indicates an association relationship between the first session and the second session.
In addition, the terminal device may associate more sessions. After the terminal equipment associates a plurality of conversations according to the first indication information, the conversations can be used for transmitting data of an application layer, so that the data transmission rate and flexibility are improved.
The first indication information may be carried in a different message, for example, the first indication information is carried in a rule sent by the policy control function (policy control function, PCF), or the first indication information is carried in a session establishment acceptance message sent by the SMF.
Next, these two cases will be described separately.
In the first case, the first indication information is carried in a rule sent by the PCF.
The rule sent by the PCF may be a user equipment routing policy (user equipment route selection policy, urs) containing one or more routing descriptors (route selection descriptor, RSD), the RSD containing a dedicated field, i.e. the first indication information. The PCF that transmits the urs may be a home PCF (home policy control function, H-PCF) or a roaming PCF (visited policy control function, V-PCF).
Optionally, the RSD further includes an identification of the associated urs and/or an identification of the associated RSD, where the urs described above may be referred to as first urs and the associated urs as second urs. The first urs are used to establish a first session and the second urs and/or associated RSDs are used to establish a second session. The contents of the RSD in the first urs are shown in table 1.
TABLE 1
An example of the first indication information is the etasss indication information in table 1. After receiving the first urs, the terminal device determines that two associated sessions can be established. The terminal device may send a session establishment request for establishing the first session to the SMF, and establish the first session based on the received session establishment acceptance message; the terminal device may then send a session request to the SMF to establish the second session, the session request including a session identification of the first session, such that the SMF associates the first session with the second session, and the terminal device may then receive a session establishment acceptance message for the second session, optionally including an identification of the first session, indicating that the SMF has associated the first session with the second session, and the terminal device may associate the first session with the second session according to the session establishment acceptance message for the second session.
In the second case, the first indication information is carried in a session establishment acceptance message sent by the SMF.
Next, a case two will be described with reference to fig. 3. Fig. 3 shows a flow chart of a method of another association session provided by the present application. The method comprises the following steps:
s300, the terminal equipment establishes a third session. Optionally, the establishment acceptance message at the third session contains second indication information indicating that the third session is for the etats S. The terminal device may receive the establishment acceptance message of the third session from the SMF, and the process of establishing the third session by the terminal device may refer to a scheme of establishing the session in the prior art, which is not described herein.
S301, the terminal device sends an uplink non-access stratum (NAS) transport message to the AMF, where the uplink NAS transport message may include an identifier of a second session, single network slice selection assistance information (single network slice selection assistance information, S-nsai), a data network name (data network name, DNN) and N1 session management information (SM info), and the N1 session management information includes a second session establishment request, optionally, the second session establishment request may further include an identifier of a third session, where the second session establishment request is further used to request association of the third session with the second session.
It should be noted that, even if the establishment acceptance message of the third session in S300 does not include the second indication information, the terminal device may still attempt to associate the second session with the third session in S301 when it is required to associate the two sessions.
S302, AMF can select SMF according to S-NSSAI, DNN, local configuration, and the like, and send parameters in uplink NAS transmission message received from terminal equipment to SMF. Optionally, the SMF is an AMF-determined SMF supporting etasss.
S303, when the SMF supports eATSSS, the SMF can judge whether the second session can be used for eATSSS according to the information of S-NSSAI, DNN, local strategy and the like. When the second session is available for the etasss, the smass supporting the etasss selects a session having the same characteristics as the second session, such as the first session, from among the sessions established by the terminal device on the SMF, the SMF supporting the etasss associating the first session with the second session.
The same characteristics are for example PDU type identical, S-nsai identical, DNN identical, etc., alternatively the first session may be a third session when the third session is identical to the second session in nature.
Subsequently, the SMF supporting the etasss sends a second session establishment acceptance message to the terminal device, the establishment acceptance message including first indication information indicating that the session of the terminal device is available for the etasss. Wherein the first indication information may be a dedicated field; the first indication information may also be a multiplexed field, for example, the first indication information is an identifier of the first session; alternatively, the first indication information may be a dedicated field and an identification of the first session.
Alternatively, if the second session establishment request in S301 includes an identification of the third session, and the first session associated with the second session is the third session, the first indication information in S303 may be a dedicated field. If the second session establishment request in S301 does not contain the identity of the third session, the first indication information in S303 needs to contain the identity of the associated session (i.e. the identity of the first session).
S304, the AMF sends a second session establishment acceptance message to the terminal equipment, and optionally, the AMF sends the second session establishment acceptance message through a downlink NAS transmission message.
After receiving the establishment acceptance message of the second session, the terminal device associates the second session with the first session, and notifies the upper layer of addresses of the first session and the second session and corresponding access technologies (access), so that the application can transmit the etasss data using the first session and the second session.
The above two cases are two embodiments provided by the present application, and embodiments obtained based on the inventive concept of the present application are not limited thereto. For example, both embodiments may also be implemented in combination.
After receiving the first URSP, the terminal device establishes a first session. The SMF may explicitly indicate whether the first session can be used for the etasss, for example, the SMF sends second indication information to the terminal device through an establishment acceptance message of the first session, indicating that the first session can be used for the etass S, and the terminal device may send an establishment request message of the second session and an identification of the first session at the same time according to the second indication information, so that the SMF associates the first session and the second session. In the scheme, the terminal equipment does not need to select the session needing to be associated, so that the burden of the terminal equipment is reduced.
Optionally, after receiving the second indication information sent by the SMF, if the terminal device determines that the first session is not applicable to the etasss, the terminal device may not perform indication of the second indication information, but select one or more suitable sessions from the established sessions, and send the identification of the one or more suitable sessions and the establishment request message of the second session to the SMF. In the scheme, the terminal equipment can select a proper session for association, so that the flexibility of the eATSSS is improved.
