Description

Printing plate conveyor
Technical Field
The invention relates to a printing plate conveyor comprising a first guide rail which extends in a first plane with a first rail section, a second rail section and a first curved section, and a second guide rail which extends in a second plane with a third rail section, a fourth rail section and a second curved section, wherein the first plane and the second plane are parallel to each other.
Background
EP 336904 a2 describes a printing plate conveyor with a conveyor chain which runs on rollers and is guided in guide rails. The drawings of this document show: the conveyor chain extends in a track having a track section and a curved section. The conveyor chain turns in these curved sections. The printing plates transported along the rails may temporarily tip over during transport.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the invention is to provide a printing plate conveyor in which tipping over (Kippen) of the printing plates is avoided.
This object is achieved by a printing plate conveyor comprising a first guide rail extending in a first plane with a first rail section, a second rail section and a first curved section formed, and a second guide rail extending in a second plane with a third rail section, a fourth rail section and a second curved section formed, wherein the first plane and the second plane are parallel to each other, characterized in that the first rail section and the third rail section extend vertically, the second rail section and the fourth rail section extend horizontally, and the first guide rail and the second guide rail cross each other in a crossing point, seen in a viewing direction orthogonal with respect to the first plane and the second plane.
An advantage of the printing plate conveyor according to the invention is that the conveyed printing plates maintain their orientation during conveyance. An additional advantage is that with such a printing plate conveyor, not only individual printing plates but also stacks of printing plates can be transported.
Different embodiments are possible:
the first track section and the third track section (viewed along the first guide track and the second guide track) can run parallel to one another before the intersection and at a first distance from one another, and the second track section and the fourth track section (viewed along the first guide track and the second guide track) can run parallel to one another after the intersection and at a second distance from one another, wherein the first distance and the second distance can be as large as one another or can be different from one another.
The first, second, third and fourth track sections may be straight sections or may extend in a straight-like manner and in this case have a substantially larger radius of curvature than the first and second curved sections, respectively.
The same plate carrier can be guided by the first guide rail and simultaneously by the second guide rail. The plate carrier may be connected to the first guide rail via a first pivot point and to the second guide rail via a second pivot point. Measured along a first measuring direction parallel with respect to the first plane and the second plane are: the first and second rotation points can be arranged at a distance from one another with the first mentioned distance, and measured along a second measuring direction parallel to the first plane and the second plane and orthogonal to the first measuring direction are: the first and second rotation points can be arranged at a distance from one another with the second mentioned pitch.
The first rotation point may be formed by a first rotation hinge by which the plate carrier is connected with a first travel frame guided by a first guide rail. The second point of rotation may be formed by a second pivot joint by which the plate carrier is connected to a second travel carriage guided by the second guide rail.
The first and second traveling racks may be running gears (Fahrwerke) rolling on the first and second guide rails, or may be carriages (Schlitten) sliding on the first and second guide rails.
The plate carrier may be a plate stack carrier.
The printing plate carrier can be a carrier for carrying an open printing plate tray on which the printing plate stacks are located, or a carrier for carrying a closed plate box in which the printing plate stacks are located.
The movement of the printing plate carrier along the first guide rail and the second guide rail can be driven by a motor via a transmission with a traction means.
The first and second guide rails may be guide rails (Schienen) or runners (Kulissen).
The traction means (in english: traction mechanism) can be a flexible traction means (for example a toothed belt) or a multi-section traction means (for example a chain).
Drawings
Further advantageous embodiments emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment and the associated drawings, in which:
figure 1 is a side view of the plate conveyor according to the viewing direction I given in figure 2,
FIG. 2 is a front view according to the viewing direction II given in FIG. 1, and
fig. 3 shows a cross section according to the cutting line III-III shown in fig. 2.
Detailed Description
The plate conveyors shown in fig. 1 to 3 are part of such a system: the system is combined with a printing press in order to transport unused new plates to the printing mechanisms of the printing press and to transport used old plates away from these printing mechanisms. The printing press may be a sheet printing press and the printing mechanisms may be offset printing mechanisms.
The plate conveyor comprises a plate carrier 3, which plate carrier 3 receives a plate container
Figure BDA0003035122690000031
In the printing plate container, a printing plate stack is provided. Such plate containers may be open trays or closed boxes. The plate container and the plate stack are not shown together in the figures.
The printing plate carriers 3 can be moved along the first guide rail 1 and the second guide rail 2 together with the printing plate containers and the printing plates received therein. The first guide track 1 comprises in the mentioned order: a first track section 11, a first curve section 21 and a second track section 12. The second guide rail 2 includes: a third track section 13, a fourth track section 14 and a second curve section 22 located therebetween. The first track section 11, the second track section 12, the third track section 13 and the fourth track section 14 each extend linearly, i.e. are linear sections. The first curved section 21 and the second curved section 22 each extend in the shape of a circular arc over an angle of 90 °. The first guide rail 1 and the second guide rail 2 are configured as guide rails. The first guide track 1 extends in a first plane 10 and the second guide track 2 extends in a second plane 20.
In the drawings, an orthogonal coordinate system is given having spatial axes x, y and z, where y is a vertical axis and x and z are horizontal axes. The first plane 10 and the second plane 20 extend parallel to these spatial axes x and y and are spaced apart from one another by a spacing c. Viewed in the direction of the spatial axis z (which corresponds to the viewing direction II), the first guide track 1 and the second guide track 2 cross at a crossing point 4. The first and third track sections 11, 13 extend vertically and parallel to one another at a first distance a, measured in the direction of the spatial axis x. The second track section 12 and the fourth track section 14 extend horizontally and parallel to one another at a second distance b, measured in the direction of the spatial axis y.
The first carriage 5 is guided by the first guide rail 1 and is connected to the plate carrier 3 via a first rotary articulation 7. The second travel carriage 6 is guided by the second guide rail 2 and is connected to the plate carrier 3 via a second rotary articulation 8. The first carriage 5 and the second carriage 6 are running gears and each comprise a plurality of rollers 9, between which rollers 9 the guide rails 1 (or 2) are inserted.
The first swivel joint 7 forms a first swivel point 17 and the second swivel joint 8 forms a second swivel point 18. The distance measured between the first rotation point 17 and the second rotation point 18 along the first measuring direction (which corresponds to the direction of the spatial axis x) corresponds to the first distance a. The distance measured between the first rotation point 17 and the second rotation point 18 along the second measuring direction (which corresponds to the direction of the spatial axis y) corresponds to the second distance b.
A (e.g. electric) motor 15 drives the movement of the plate carriers 3 along the first guide rail 1 and the second guide rail 2 via a transmission 16. The transmission 16 may be (as shown) a traction transmission. The illustrated drive 16 comprises, for example, a wrap-around traction means 23, on which traction means 23 the printing plate carrier 3 is mounted by a fastening device 24. The pulling means 23 is configured as a chain. The wheels 25 and the steering rail 19 serve to guide the traction means 23.
