In addition, the term "or" as used herein should be taken to include any one or combination of more of the associated listed items as the case may be.
Fig. 1 is a block diagram of a multimedia channel switching reminding system according to an embodiment of the invention. Referring to fig. 1, an embodiment of the invention provides a multimedia channel switching reminding system 1, which includes a multimedia device 10 and an audio/video processing device 12.
The video processing device 12 is coupled to the multimedia device 10 and receives a multimedia video source S1 including a plurality of channel signals to play one of the channels through the multimedia device 10, and includes a channel switching detection unit 120, a feature extraction module 122, a buffer storage unit 124, a comparison module 126, and a reminder module 128.
It should be understood that the av processing device 12 can execute the functions of the channel switching detection unit 120, the feature extraction module 122, the comparison module 126 and the reminding module 128 through a built-in processing unit, and the processing unit can adopt a hardware device composed of logic circuit components, for example, to execute the above functions. In addition, the above-mentioned functions may be executed by loading a program stored in the storage unit of the audio/video processing apparatus 12, which is not limited herein. In this embodiment, the processing unit may be a central processing unit, a Field-Programmable gate array (FPGA), or a multi-purpose chip capable of loading a program language to execute corresponding functions.
The multimedia device 10 may be, for example, an analog television, a digital photo frame display apparatus, a desktop computer, a notebook computer, a tablet computer, a mobile phone, a smart phone, an electronic book, or a multimedia display apparatus, etc.
The audio/video processing device 12 may receive the multimedia audio/video source through a twisted pair cable (twisted pair cable), a coaxial cable (coaxial cable), an optical fiber (optical fiber) or other transmission media S1. Furthermore, the video processing apparatus 12 may also be a video processing apparatus conforming to a specific interface, such as Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment (PATA) standard, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 1394 standard, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCI) standard, Universal Serial Bus (USB) standard, Ultra High Speed Specification-I (UHS-I) interface standard, Ultra High Speed Specification-II (UHS-II) interface standard, Serial Advanced Attachment (SATA) standard, Memory Stick (MS) interface standard, multimedia storage Card (Multi, Compact Flash) interface standard, Flash Memory (CF) Flash drive (MMC) interface standard, IDE) standard or other suitable standard.
The audio/video processing apparatus 12 may also receive the multimedia audio/video source S1 through a communication unit, which may be a wireless transceiver unit supporting wireless communication standards such as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11n/b/g, and establishing a network link with other external devices through a wireless method. In addition, the communication unit may also establish a network link with another external device through a wireless manner by using a Third Generation mobile communication (3G) module, a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network communication interface, a Wi-Fi module, or a Bluetooth (Bluetooth) protocol. For example, the communication unit may have a wireless transceiver unit such as an antenna. In addition, the communication unit may also support a wired network, such as a network card, without limitation.
For example, the user may perform channel switching on the multimedia device 10 through the channel switching button of the remote control device RE, for example, when the user operates through the channel switching button of the remote control device RE, the channel switching detection unit 120 may be configured to detect whether to switch from the first channel to the second channel of the plurality of channels. The user can set the currently watched channel as the first channel through the remote control device RE, or the channel switching detection unit 120 can automatically set the currently played channel of the multimedia device 10 as the first channel.
When the first channel watched by the user enters the advertisement from the specific program, the user can switch the channel of the multimedia device 10 by using the channel switch button of the remote control device RE, and the channel switch detection unit 120 detects the switch from the first channel to the second channel. The second channel may be any channel of the plurality of channels other than the first channel. In response to the channel switch detecting unit 122 detecting that the first channel is switched to the second channel, the feature extracting module 122 may be configured to extract at least one program feature of the content of the channel signal corresponding to the first channel before the first channel is switched to the second channel.
For example, the at least one program feature may include at least one of a program picture feature, a program logo feature, a program pattern feature, a program facial feature, and a program audio feature in the content of the channel signal corresponding to the first channel before the first channel is switched to the second channel.
In detail, the program pattern feature may include a program pattern corresponding to a program category. For example, when the first channel is a sports program, the score of the game team and the name of the game team are usually displayed. And the first channel is a financial program, an index of a plurality of investment products may be displayed. The feature extraction module 122 can analyze the picture and sound of the first channel before switching to the second channel, so as to obtain the repetitive or specific continuous program features, and store the features in the buffer storage unit 124.
The buffer unit 124 may be, for example, a Static Random Access Memory (SRAM), a Dynamic Random Access Memory (Dynamic Random Access Memory), a hard disk, a Flash Memory (Flash Memory), or any Memory or storage device capable of storing electronic signals or data.
For example, refer to fig. 2, which is a schematic diagram illustrating a feature extraction module extracting channel content according to an embodiment of the present invention. For example, as shown in the figure, for a player playing, the feature extraction module 122 may extract facial features FAC1 of the player, the audio features AUD1 of the ball scoring against the background, scores a1 and B1 of team a and team B, and the playing time C. In certain embodiments, since the scores a1 and B1 may increase at intervals, or the game time C may decrease as the game progresses, the feature extraction module 122 may analyze such continuity and extract a series of patterns PTN1 with continuity, which are stored in the buffer storage unit 124 for later comparison.
For example, reference may be made to fig. 3, which is another schematic diagram illustrating the feature extraction module extracting channel content according to an embodiment of the present invention. For example, as shown in the figure, the feature extraction module 122 may extract the sound feature AUD2, news D at a specific time (e.g. a certain lunch news), the current time E, the main news title F, the ticker G, and the program logo H, which are broadcasted by the news reporter in the background. In a specific embodiment, since the current time E is decreased at any time and the ticker G is moved toward a specific direction, the feature extraction module 122 can analyze and extract a series of patterns PTN2 and PTN3 with continuity for the continuity, and store the patterns in the buffer storage unit 124 for use in the subsequent comparison.
Alternatively, in an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the feature extraction module 122 may also extract a plurality of program frames before the first channel is switched to the second channel as the program frame features, for example, one frame per second, and store the extracted program frames in the buffer storage unit 124 for use in the subsequent comparison.
Then, the comparing module 126 may be configured to continuously analyze and compare the channel signal of the first channel to generate a detection result after the first channel is switched to the second channel according to the program characteristics stored in the buffer storage unit 124. In detail, the comparing module 126 continuously analyzes the channel signal of the first channel, including analyzing the image and the sound, to determine whether the channel signal matches the stored program characteristics.
Then, the reminding module 128 can be configured to determine whether to remind the user of performing channel switching according to the detection result. In other words, before the user turns to the tv, since a plurality of program features are already stored, after the user turns to the tv, the comparison module 126 can continuously analyze the content of the original channel in the background, when one feature or a plurality of features match, the detection result indicates that the advertisement of the channel has ended, and the program has started, and the reminding module 128 can decide to remind according to the detection result.
In some embodiments, the reminding module 128 may be configured to perform channel switching by at least one of an audio notification and a visual notification through the multimedia device 10 when determining to perform channel switching according to the detection result.
Alternatively, in an alternative embodiment, the reminding module 128 may also be configured to directly control the multimedia device 10 to switch from the second channel to the first channel when determining to remind the user to switch channels according to the detection result. Therefore, the multimedia channel switching reminding system provided by the invention can be applied to a television, when a user turns to watch programs in a certain channel or an input medium and enters the advertisement time, the content of the original channel or the input medium can be continuously monitored in the background, and when the advertisement of the original channel or the input medium is finished, the user is reminded, so that the user can not miss favorite programs.
Fig. 4 is a flowchart of a multimedia channel switching reminding method according to an embodiment of the invention. Referring to fig. 4, the present invention further provides a multimedia channel switching reminding method, which is applicable to the multimedia channel switching reminding system of the foregoing embodiment, and at least includes the following steps:
step S100: the audio-visual processing device is configured to receive a multimedia audio source comprising a plurality of channel signals so as to play one of a plurality of channels through the multimedia device.
Step S101: the channel switching detection unit is configured to detect whether a first channel of the plurality of channels is switched to a second channel. If so, the process proceeds to step S102, otherwise, the process continues to step S101 for detection.
