Description

Electronic device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an electronic device and a system including the electronic device and two pairs of bus bars.
Background
Electronic devices are typically manufactured with integrated bus bars (e.g., copper bus bars). However, existing electronic devices have low flexibility in adapting to changes in the geometry of the interface to which the electronic device is to be connected.

It is an object of the present application to provide an improved electronic device, e.g. an electronic device with an improved degree of flexibility.
This object is solved by the subject matter of claim 1.
An electronic device is provided that includes a housing and at least one electronic component disposed within the housing. The housing is adapted for feed-through of at least one bus bar. The housing is compatible with differently shaped bus bars.
The bus bar itself is not part of the electronic device. Instead, the electronic device is configured to receive the bus bar. The bus bar may be inserted into the electronic device so as to protrude from the electronic device. Because the electronic device is compatible with bus bars of different shapes, the electronic device has a great degree of flexibility in adapting to changes in the geometry of the interface. The electronic device may be a standardized electronic device, wherein the electronic device may be combined with various interfaces by selecting appropriate bus bars.
The housing may be adapted such that the housing does not impose a limitation on the shape of the terminal of the at least one bus bar. The terminal may be an end portion of the bus bar configured to be connected to a power source or an interface. The bus bar may be configured to apply a voltage from a power source to the electronic components within the housing as the bus bar is fed through the housing.
The housing may comprise a tube adapted for feed-through of the at least one bus bar, wherein the tube extends from a first end of the housing to a second end of the housing. When the bus bar is disposed in the tube, the bus bar may protrude from both the first end and the second end of the housing. The portions of the bus bars protruding from both ends of the case may be terminals of the bus bars.
The housing may include a fixing member configured to fix the at least one bus bar after the at least one bus bar is inserted into the housing. The fixing member may mechanically fix the bus bar. For example, the fixation element may comprise a screw. Alternatively, the fixing element may comprise a clip.
At least one of a capacitor and an inductor may be disposed as the electronic component in the case. The capacitor may be a Y capacitor or an X capacitor. The inductor may be a magnetic core arranged so as to surround the bus bar as it is fed through the housing. The inductor may be a magnetic core surrounding the tube.
The electronic device may not have an integrated bus bar. The integrated bus bars may limit the flexibility of connecting the electronic device to different interface geometries.
The electronic device may be an EMC filter.
The electronic device may include a connection point within the housing. At least one electronic component may be electrically connected to the connection point. The electronic device may be configured such that the bus bar fed through the housing is electrically connected to the connection point. The connection point may be a metallization at the inner wall of the tube. By means of these connection points, voltage and current can be applied from the bus bar to the electronic component.
Another aspect relates to a system that includes the electronic device described above, a first pair of bus bars, and a second pair of bus bars. The first pair of bus bars is different from the second pair of bus bars in shape. In particular, the first and second pairs of bus bars may differ in the shape of their terminals. The housing of the electronic component is compatible with both the first and second pairs of bus bars. The housing of the electronic component is adapted for feed-through of a first pair of bus bars and for feed-through of a second pair of bus bars.
Each of the first pair of bus bars may include a metallic strip (metallic strip) and a terminal arranged at a first angle to the metallic strip.
