The basic principle of penetrable elastic self-sealing is as follows: the middle section of the penetrable sealing body 17 is a cylinder with equal diameter, and the two ends are in a round table shape, as shown in fig. 6, so that the penetrable sealing body has certain static sealing capability; a portion of the penetrable sealing body 17 is connected to the rubber body so that it can be restored to its initial position in time when the pin 7 is withdrawn. When the contact pin 7 is inserted, the contact pin 7 can penetrate through the rubber body through the penetrable sealing body 17 and form effective dynamic sealing with the penetrable sealing body 17; when the contact pin 7 is pulled out, the penetrable sealing body 17 is connected to the rubber body and can be restored to the original position in time, so that the sealing performance of the contact pin 7 during and after pulling out is ensured. The diameter of the contact pin 7, which is matched with the penetrable elastic self-sealing, is slightly larger than the diameter of the opening.
The aforementioned openings in the rubber body can be realized by means of a custom-made forming punch. This embodiment shows a forming punch 400, as shown in fig. 5. The cutting edge of the forming punch 400 is provided with a small section of notch, and the notch can prevent the forming punch 400 from completely cutting off the rubber body and form the penetrable sealing body.
The penetrable sealing member 17 may be formed integrally with the elastic bladder or may be designed separately. The present embodiment is of a monolithic design, as shown in fig. 4.
As shown in fig. 3, when the plug connector 200 is connected to the receptacle connector 100, the end face of the receptacle connector 100 first comes into contact with the end face of the second resilient bladder 21 of the plug connector 200, and the receptacle connector 100 pushes the second resilient bladder 21 of the plug connector 200 into the interior of the plug connector 200, thereby compressing the restoring member 12. With continued compression of reset element 12, pin 7 passes through penetrable seal 17 in second flexible bladder 21 and subsequently through penetrable seal 17 in first flexible bladder 16 into first oil-filled chamber 19 in receptacle connector 100. In the process, the penetrable sealing body 17 can also clean the inserting needle 7, the end face of the optical fiber 300 and the second inserting core 8 in a wiping way, so that pollutants such as seawater, silt, gravel and the like can be prevented from entering the oil-filled cavity, and the optical fiber connection is always in a clean and clean state. Finally, the second ferrule 8 on the plug connector 200 and the first ferrule 4 on the receptacle connector 100 complete the coupling connection in the alignment sleeve 5. At this time, in the plug connector 200, the movable base 28 reaches the limit position of the fixed base 27.
It should be noted that when the plug connector 200 is connected to the receptacle connector 100, the penetrable sealing body 17 can only be compressed into the interior of each elastic bladder under the action of lubrication, since the end surfaces of the first elastic bladder 16 and the second elastic bladder 21 are tightly fitted to form an effective axial seal.
The oil filling of the receptacle connector 100 and the plug connector 200 in this embodiment is very simple. The oil-filled device may be a medical or specialty capillary syringe having a bore corresponding to the bore of the pins 7 in the plug connector 200 or forming an effective seal with the penetrable seal 17. When the oil is filled, the syringe is inserted into the oil-filled chamber through the penetrable seal 17, the internal air is purged, and then the predetermined oil is filled. In order to improve the performance and reliability of oil-filling pressure balance, a slight excess of oil should be filled during oil filling, so that the third elastic soft bag 22 still has the function of pressure balance when the third elastic soft bag is compressed to generate wavy deformation.
In this embodiment, an alignment key is provided on the socket housing 1 of the socket connector 100; corresponding key slots are provided on the plug housing 6 of the plug connector 200. When the plug connector 200 is connected to the receptacle connector 100, alignment of the connectors is achieved by the alignment keys and keyways and axial rotation between the connectors is limited.
The penetrable elastic self-sealing connector is suitable for multi-core arrangement, and only a plurality of openings are arranged on the end face of the rubber body or the elastic soft bag. The penetrable elastic self-sealing can realize online active wet plugging in the true sense no matter optical fiber connection or electric connection, namely, the optical/power supply does not need to be cut off when plugging in an underwater environment. The penetrable elastic self-sealing is also suitable for opto-electric hybrid connections.
In this embodiment, the socket housing 1 of the socket connector 100 is provided with a rotatable locking sleeve 25, the locking sleeve 25 is provided with an internal thread, and the plug housing 6 of the plug connector 200 is provided with a section of thread. When the plug connector 200 is connected to the receptacle connector 100, the locking sleeve 25 cooperates with the threads on the plug housing 6 to perform a locking function after connection. The invention can also adopt other locking modes to adapt to different underwater plugging modes. Wherein the locking sleeve 25 is fixed to the socket housing 1 of the socket connector 100 by means of a split retaining ring (E-ring) 26.
Although the present invention has been described in detail with reference to the foregoing embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes in the embodiments and/or modifications of the invention can be made, and equivalents and modifications of some features of the invention can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
