Description

Virtual desktop control method
Technical Field
The invention relates to a control method, in particular to a virtual desktop control method.
Background
Computer systems are important tools for modern people, and their uses include document processing, video and audio playing, drawing, programming, and the like. Generally, a computer system is connected to a mouse and a keyboard, so that a user can operate the computer system by operating the mouse and the keyboard. With the development of technology, computer systems and their peripherals have been improved, and besides, the operating system installed in the computer system also provides new functions for users to operate the computer system.
For example: some operating systems provide the functionality of a virtual desktop, and operating systems provide a main desktop as well as a virtual desktop. The user is the main desktop in the operating system, the virtual desktop can be started by inputting instructions, and the user can execute specific software in the virtual desktop. For example: the user can start the document processing software in the main desktop, and can start the community software in the virtual desktop, so that when the user wants to concentrate on the office, the user can carry out related work on the main desktop, and when the user wants to talk with friends, the user can switch to the virtual desktop. Software opened on the main desktop cannot be displayed on the virtual desktop, and conversely, software opened on the virtual desktop cannot be displayed on the main desktop. Therefore, the virtual desktop function can provide the effect of software classification, thereby being beneficial to improving the efficiency.
With respect to the operating system Win 10, a user can perform operations related to the virtual desktop through some combination keys, such as: when the Win key, the Ctrl key, and the D key are simultaneously pressed, the operating system Win 10 can newly add a virtual desktop. When the user presses the Win key and the Tab key simultaneously, the operating system Win 10 may display all the virtual desktops for easy preview. When the user simultaneously presses the Win key, the Ctrl key, and the right arrow key, the operating system Win 10 can switch to the next virtual desktop. Otherwise, when the user simultaneously presses the Win key, the Ctrl key, and the left arrow key, the operating system Win 10 may be switched to the previous virtual desktop.
The related operations of the virtual desktop can be executed only by inputting the combination keys through the keyboard, so the design limits that a user can operate the virtual desktop only by simultaneously using the keyboard and the mouse, and cannot operate the virtual desktop by using the mouse alone. Moreover, the background of the virtual desktop and the background of the main desktop of the existing operating system are preset to be the same, so that a user cannot distinguish the main desktop from the virtual desktop at a glance.
Therefore, a virtual desktop control method is needed to allow a user to operate a virtual desktop by using a mouse alone.

It is to be understood that elements not specifically shown in the drawings or described in the specification are in a form known to those skilled in the art. Various changes and modifications may be suggested to one skilled in the art based on the teachings herein.
First, a computer system to which the virtual desktop control method of the present invention is applied will be described. Please refer to fig. 1, which is a schematic structural diagram of a computer system to which the virtual desktop control method of the present invention is applied. The computer system 1 includes a host computer 11, a computer screen 12 and a mouse 13, wherein the host computer 11 is connected to the mouse 13 and the computer screen 12 respectively, the host computer 11 can be connected to the mouse 13 by a wired connection or a wireless connection, and the computer screen 12 can display a preset main desktop 121 and a cursor 122. The mouse 13 is capable of controlling the cursor 122 to move or operate in response to the user's operation, so that the host computer 11 executes the corresponding command. The mouse 13 includes a left button 131, a right button 132 and a wheel 133, and the components of the mouse 13 are well known in the art and therefore will not be described in detail. The computer host 11 may establish a corresponding virtual desktop (not shown) according to a user's setting, and may switch a current desktop (i.e., the main desktop 121) of the computer screen 12 to the virtual desktop.
Next, the method of the present invention will be explained. Referring to fig. 1 and fig. 2, fig. 2 is a block flow diagram of a virtual desktop control method according to a first preferred embodiment of the invention. The virtual desktop control method comprises the following steps:
step A: it is detected whether a cursor movement signal is received.
And B: and detecting whether a desktop switching signal is received.
And C: and judging the established number of the virtual desktops of the computer system.
Step D: and judging whether the cursor is positioned at the edge of the current desktop.
Step E: and judging whether the corresponding virtual desktop is established.
Step F: and setting the virtual desktop to establish the virtual desktop.
Step G: switching the desktop of the computer system.
In step A, when the host computer 11 detects that the cursor movement signal S1 is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to step B; on the contrary, when the host computer 11 does not detect that the cursor movement signal S1 is received, the host computer 11 performs the step A again. In step B, when the host computer 11 detects that the desktop switch signal S2 is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to step C; on the contrary, when the host computer 11 does not detect that the desktop switch signal S2 is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to step B again. In step C, when the host computer 11 determines that the number of the established virtual desktops is equal to one, the host computer 11 performs step G; otherwise, when the host computer 11 determines that the number of the established virtual desktops is not equal to one, the host computer 11 proceeds to step D.
In step D, when the host computer 11 determines that the cursor 122 is located at the edge 123 of the current desktop, the host computer 11 proceeds to step E; otherwise, when the host computer 11 determines that the cursor 122 is not located at the edge 123 of the current desktop, the host computer 11 performs step a again. In step E, when the host computer 11 determines that the virtual desktop corresponding to the edge 123 is established, the host computer 11 performs step G; otherwise, when the host computer 11 determines that the virtual desktop corresponding to the edge 123 is not established, the host computer 11 proceeds to step F. And D, after the step F is finished, the step A is carried out again, and after the step G is finished, the virtual desktop control method is finished.
The operation of the virtual desktop control method of the present invention is described in terms of actual cases. Referring to fig. 1, fig. 2 and fig. 3, fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of a computer system applied to the virtual desktop control method of the present invention displaying a thumbnail image corresponding to a virtual desktop in a first preferred embodiment. Assuming that the user has not set any virtual desktop in the host computer 11, the host computer 11 controls the computer screen 12 to display the main desktop. When the user starts to operate the computer system 1 by using the mouse 13, the computer system 1 starts to execute the virtual desktop control method of the present invention. First, the host computer 11 performs step a: it is detected whether the cursor movement signal is received S1. Next, the user moves the mouse 13 and outputs a desktop switch signal S2 using the mouse 13. in the preferred embodiment, the set touch wheel key generates the desktop switch signal S2. At this time, the host computer 11 can determine that the cursor movement signal S1 is received in step a, so that the control cursor 122 performs corresponding movement in response to the mouse 13. Next, when it is determined in step B that the desktop switch signal S2 is received, step C is performed. Since the user has not set any virtual desktop in the host computer 11, the host computer 11 determines that the number of the set virtual desktops is not equal to one, and proceeds to step D.
In step D, if the host computer 11 determines that the cursor 122 is not located at the edge 123 of the current desktop, the host computer 11 proceeds to step a again. When the user has moved the cursor 122 to the edge 123 of the main desktop 121 (shown as the upper edge 123 in FIG. 3), the host computer 11 can determine that the cursor 122 is located at the edge 123 of the main desktop 121 in step D, so step E is performed. Since no virtual desktop is currently established, it is determined in step E that the virtual desktop corresponding to the upper edge is not established. Next, the host computer 11 proceeds to step F: and setting the virtual desktop to establish the virtual desktop. The computer host 11 can display a setting interface of the virtual desktop, the setting interface can be designed according to the requirement, and the content and the related details of the setting interface are well known by those skilled in the art and are not described again.
The invention particularly provides a function of selecting the background color in the setting interface, so that a user can set the virtual desktops with different background colors according to the preference or the requirement, and the difference of each virtual desktop can be conveniently identified by naked eyes. For example: the user can set the virtual desktop corresponding to the edge 123 on the right side to be dedicated to document processing and set the background color to red; and the virtual desktop corresponding to the upper edge 123 can be set for audio-visual entertainment and its undertone can be set to yellow; the virtual desktop corresponding to the lower edge 123 may also be set for programming and its background color blue; the virtual desktop corresponding to the edge 123 on the left side can be set to a social chat and the background color can be set to green. Therefore, the user can recognize the purpose of each virtual desktop at a glance, so that the user can switch conveniently. After the virtual desktop is set, the host computer 11 stores the related setting data in the desktop setting data file 111, and performs step a again.
Then, the user can move the cursor 122 to the upper edge 123 of the main desktop 121 by using the mouse 13, and at this time, the computer host 11 can sequentially perform step a, step B, step C, step D, step E, and step G: the desktop of the computer system 1 is switched to a virtual desktop corresponding to the edge 123 above. The method is completed. When the cursor 122 moves to the upper edge 123 of the main desktop 121, the host computer 11 determines in step D that the cursor 122 is located at the upper edge 123 of the main desktop 121, so that a thumbnail 124 corresponding to the virtual desktop can be displayed on the main desktop 121 for the user to click.
First, assuming that the user only sets one virtual desktop in step F, and then the user only needs to use the mouse 13 to generate the desktop switching signal S2, the host computer 11 can switch to the set virtual desktop in steps a, B, C and G without moving the cursor 122 to the edge 123. Second, the present invention does not limit each edge 123 to only one virtual desktop. In practical applications, a plurality of virtual desktops can be set at each edge according to the user's requirements. For example: two virtual desktops are set at the right edge 123, and when the host computer 11 determines in step D that the cursor 122 is located at the right edge 123 of the main desktop 121, thumbnail images of the two virtual desktops corresponding to the right edge 123 can be displayed on the main desktop 121 for the user to select, and the host computer 11 can switch to the virtual desktop selected by the user.
Third, the preferred embodiment sets the touch roller key to generate the desktop switch signal S2, which is only for illustration and not for limitation. In another preferred embodiment, the desktop switch signal can also be generated by the following methods, including: the method comprises the steps of pressing a plurality of keys on the mouse, performing mouse gestures, pressing the keys on the mouse and detecting the mouse gestures. Of course, if the user wishes to use the keyboard, the following may be used: the desktop switching signal is generated by adopting keys of a keyboard, the keys of the keyboard plus keys on a mouse and the keys of the keyboard plus mouse gestures. Although the above two or more operation modes are slightly complicated, the occurrence of the desktop switching signal due to the false touch can be avoided.
Furthermore, the present invention provides a second preferred embodiment which is different from the above-mentioned embodiment. Referring to fig. 1, fig. 4 and fig. 5, fig. 4 is a block flow diagram of a virtual desktop control method according to a second preferred embodiment of the present invention, and fig. 5 is a schematic diagram of a computer system applied to the virtual desktop control method according to the present invention displaying multiple thumbnail images of multiple virtual desktops according to the second preferred embodiment. The method comprises the following steps:
step A: it is detected whether a cursor movement signal is received.
And B: and detecting whether a desktop switching signal is received.
And C: and judging the established number of the virtual desktops of the computer system.
Step D: a plurality of thumbnails corresponding to the plurality of virtual desktops are displayed adjacent to the cursor.
Step E: it is detected whether a selection signal is received.
Step F: and setting the virtual desktop to establish the virtual desktop.
Step G: switching the desktop of the computer system.
Wherein, in the step A, when the host computer 11 detects that the cursor movement signal S is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to the step B; on the contrary, when the host computer 11 does not detect the receipt of the cursor movement signal S1, the host computer 11 proceeds the step A again. In step B, when the host computer 11 detects that the desktop switch signal S2 is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to step C; on the contrary, when the host computer 11 does not detect that the desktop switch signal S2 is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to the step again. In step C, when the host computer 11 determines that the number of the established virtual desktops is equal to one, the host computer 11 performs step G; when the host computer 11 determines that the number of the established virtual desktops is equal to zero, the host computer 11 performs step F; and when the host computer 11 determines that the number of the established virtual desktops is greater than one, the host computer performs step D. Step E, when detecting that the selection signal S3 is received, performing step G; otherwise, when it is detected that the selection signal S3 is not received after a certain period of time, step a is performed again.
The operation of the preferred embodiment is described next in three scenarios. Situation one: the user has not set any virtual desktop context. When the user moves the cursor using the mouse 13 and generates the desktop switching signal, the host computer 11 proceeds to step A, step B, step C and step F to set the virtual desktop. The second scenario is: the user has set a context of the virtual desktop. When the user moves the cursor using the mouse 13 and generates the desktop switching signal, the host computer 11 proceeds to step A, step B, step C and step G to switch the virtual desktop, which is the same operation as the case of setting only one virtual desktop in the above preferred embodiment.
The situation three: the user has set the situations of a plurality of virtual desktops. When the user moves the cursor using the mouse and generates the desktop switching signal, the host computer 11 performs the steps a, B, C, D, E, and G to switch to the desired virtual desktop. In step D, the host computer 11 can display multiple thumbnails 125, 126, 127 corresponding to the multiple virtual desktops in the vicinity of the cursor 122, as shown in fig. 5. The user can click the required thumbnail 124 by using the mouse 13 according to the requirement to generate the corresponding selection signal S3, so that the host computer 11 can determine which thumbnail the user selects according to the selection signal S3 in step E, and switch to the selected virtual desktop in step G. The advantage of the preferred embodiment is that the user does not need to move the cursor 122 to the edge of the current desktop to switch the virtual desktop.
In addition, the present invention further provides a third preferred embodiment different from the above. Referring to fig. 1, fig. 6A and fig. 6B are block flow diagrams of a virtual desktop control method according to a third preferred embodiment of the present invention. The method comprises the following steps:
step A: it is detected whether a cursor movement signal is received.
And B: and detecting whether a desktop switching signal is received.
And C: and judging the established number of the virtual desktops of the computer system.
Step D: and judging whether the cursor is positioned at the edge of the current desktop.
Step D: a plurality of thumbnails corresponding to the plurality of virtual desktops are displayed adjacent to the cursor.
Step E: and judging whether the corresponding virtual desktop is established.
In step B, when the host computer 11 detects that the desktop switching signal is received, the host computer 11 performs step C; on the contrary, when the host computer 11 does not detect that the desktop switch signal S2 is received, the host computer 11 proceeds to the step again.
In step D, when the host computer 11 determines that the cursor 122 is located at the edge 123 of the current desktop, the host computer 11 proceeds to step E; otherwise, when the host computer 11 determines that the cursor 122 is not located at the edge 123 of the current desktop, the host computer 11 proceeds to step D.
The method of the preferred embodiment combines the steps of the two preferred embodiments, so that the user can arbitrarily adopt two switching methods: firstly, the method comprises the following steps: moving cursor 122 to edge 123, and second, generating a plurality of thumbnails corresponding to the plurality of virtual desktops in the vicinity of cursor 122. Therefore, the virtual desktop can be easily switched by a user only by operating the mouse.
According to the above, the virtual desktop control method of the present invention designs a plurality of ways capable of switching the virtual desktop in accordance with the habit of the user operating the mouse, so that the user can perform the desktop switching function only by using the familiar mouse without simultaneously operating the mouse and the keyboard. In addition, the method of the invention can enable the user to set the plurality of virtual desktops to different ground colors according to the requirement, so that the user can identify the virtual desktop which is required to be switched at a glance, and the method is particularly suitable for miniatures with smaller sizes and is more convenient.
The above description is only for the purpose of illustrating the preferred embodiments of the present invention and should not be taken as limiting the scope of the present invention, so that other equivalent changes and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
