[ description of the drawings ]
The invention and its advantages will be better understood by reading the following detailed description of a specific embodiment, given purely by way of illustrative and non-limiting example. The description is made with reference to the sole accompanying figure 1, in which figure 1 a preferred embodiment of the locking device according to the invention is shown in perspective view.
[ detailed description ] embodiments
The present description will be made more specifically in the case of closing an opening, for example an opening into and out of a railway machinery room, by an access gate comprising a removable cover plate 4, such as the cover 4.
The opening is defined by a generally rectangular frame.
The cover 4 is mounted to pivot on an axis parallel to one of the uprights of the frame.
At least one locking device according to the invention is provided to maintain the cover on the frame in a correctly locked state.
As shown in fig. 1, the locking device 6 comprises, on the one hand, a lock bar support 10 and, on the other hand, a lock housing 20.
The latch bar support 10 is mounted on the frame 2 in the region of an upright opposite the upright on which the cover 4 is pivotally mounted.
A lock housing 20 is mounted on the edge of the cover 4 so as to be able to cooperate with the lock cross head support 10.
The base XYZ is associated with the locking means 6. The Y axis is parallel to the pivot axis of the cover; the Z-axis, i.e. the vertical axis, is oriented towards the centre of the flap (the YZ plane corresponds to the plane of the opening to be closed); and the X axis, which is orthogonal to the Y axis and the Z axis, corresponds to the axis of movement of the lock housing 20 when locked, specifically when locked on the lock cross head support.
The latch bar support 10 is constituted, for example, by a plate shaped with "U" rows. The free ends of the wings 11 and 12 of the "U" shaped plate are bent outwards to form a transition plane, so as to enable the locking crosspiece support 10 to be fixed to the frame 2, for example by welding.
The "U" shaped plate is shaped so that its middle part has a first planar wall 13 connecting the two wings to each other and a second planar wall 15 bent at right angles to the first planar wall 13.
When the lock bar support 10 is installed, the plane of the first plane wall 13 is parallel to the YZ plane, that is to say has a normal parallel to the X axis; the plane of the second planar wall 15 is parallel to the XY-plane, that is to say has a normal parallel to the Z-axis.
The second planar wall 15 is provided with a transverse locking head 16. Preferably, the latch bar 16 takes the form of a cylindrical pin, the axis B of which is parallel to the Z axis.
The first planar wall 13 is provided with a hole enabling the insertion of the proximity sensor 30. The proximity sensor 30 is of the inductive type.
The proximity sensor 30 has a substantially cylindrical shape along the axis C. It comprises a distal end 31, a body 32 and a proximal end 33.
To mount the proximity sensor 30 on the crossbar support 10, a hole is punched in the first planar wall 13 to pass the threaded body 32 of the proximity sensor 30. To lock the proximity sensor 30 in place, two nuts 34 are provided on either side of the wall 13. They are screwed onto the threaded body 32 of the sensor and serve to ensure that it remains in place.
The proximity sensor 30 is mounted such that the axis C is parallel to the X-axis. The proximal end 33 is oriented toward the lock housing 20 and the distal end 31 is distal from the lock housing 20.
The cable connects the distal end 31 of the proximity sensor 30 to electronics adapted to analyze the information about the locking status transmitted by the proximity sensor 30 from time to time. The electronics are not shown in the figure.
The lock case 20 is constituted by a base plate 23, and various members forming a lock are attached to the base plate 23. The top cover 24 covers the bottom plate 23 to close the lock case 20 and protect various components.
A lock is provided, mounted on the base plate 23, inside the lock case 20, and is constituted by a pair of jaws 21 and 22 hinged so as to be able to pivot towards or away from each other about axes a1 and a2, respectively. The axes A1 and A2 are parallel to the Z axis.
The jaws 21 and 22 are each spring loaded to maintain them in the open position.
The bottom plate 23 and the top cover 24 are provided with flared recesses intended for the passage of the locking crosspiece 16.
The jaws 21 and 22 are provided with retaining grooves adapted to cooperate with the lock bar head 16.
More precisely, when the cover 4 is closed on the frame 2, the impact of the crosspiece 16 on the roots of the retaining grooves of the jaws 21 and 22 forces the jaws 21 and 22 to close on the crosspiece 16.
Preferably, but not shown in the figures, an auxiliary lever system makes it possible to block the jaws 21 and 22 on the crossbar 16 in the closed position. The locking device 6 is then in a correctly locked state.
When the cover 4 is closed on the frame 2, the edge face 25, which depends from the top cover 24 of the lock housing 20, is placed opposite the proximal end face 33 of the proximity sensor 30.
The proximity sensor 30 detects (detects) whether the metal surface 25 is present in an operating range that is a characteristic of the proximity sensor at all times.
In the properly locked state, the face 25 is within the operating range of the proximity sensor 30. Thus, the proximity sensor 30 detects the face 25.
The face 25 then constitutes a reference surface whose distance to the proximity sensor 30 (for example to the proximal end 33 of the distance sensor 30) should be at most equal (taking into account a certain tolerance interval) to the upper limit of the working range of the sensor 30, in order to prove the correct locking condition of the locking device 6. The upper limit defines the reference distance D.
If the distance between the face 25 and the proximity sensor 30 is equal to or less than the reference distance D, a correct locking state of the cover on the frame is confirmed.
In contrast, if the distance is greater than the reference distance D, the correct locking state of the cover on the frame is not confirmed.
The information is transmitted from the proximity sensor to the electronic device.
Advantageously, the electronic means are adapted to issue an alarm as to the correct locking condition of the cover on the frame, for example to help the operator recognize that the machine room is not closed.
Thus, for example, the electronic device is adapted to control the switching of the circuit feeding the lamp of the instrument panel (for example located in a railway monitoring centre) from an open state to a closed state and vice versa.
If the correct locking state is not confirmed, the electronics maintain the switch in a closed state to feed the lamp. Thus, the light remains illuminated to indicate to the operator that the cover is not properly locked.
Conversely, when the correct locking condition is confirmed, the electronic device switches the switch to its off-state, so as to cut off the power supply to the lamp and thus extinguish it.
The invention thus makes it possible to detect the relative position of the lock casing 20 with respect to the lock crosspiece support 10 by means of an inductive proximity sensor calibrated to the correct locking edge line of the locking deviceTo determine whether the locking device is in a properly locked state.
An advantage of an inductive proximity sensor is that it has a detection range of about a few millimeters, for example 12 mm. The sensor is thus able to detect a reference surface of the lock housing when the lock housing is less than 12mm from it. The screw nut type coupling of the proximity sensor on the lock crossbar support makes it possible to easily position the proximal end of the proximity sensor with respect to the reference surface, taking into account the detection range and the correct locking condition to be demonstrated.
The detection of a correct locking state by means of an inductive proximity sensor is greatly improved compared to the embodiment of a mechanical detector, in particular due to the separation of the locking function and the lock detection function. This provides the possibility of implementing various types of lock, as long as the lock housing surrounding the lock is left with a suitable reference surface, i.e. the position of which with respect to the complementary element of the lock (lock crosshead support) is linked to the correct locking state of the lock (and thus the locking device).
In a variant not shown, the lock crosspiece support 10 is mounted on the cover 4 and the lock housing 20 is mounted on a column of the frame 2.
