FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a display device according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of AA1 or BB1 according to an embodiment of the present invention; referring to fig. 1 and 2, the display device 100 includes a body 00, and a first display panel 2 disposed on the body 00, wherein the first display panel 2 includes a display area 21 and a projection area 22, and the display area 21 has a light emitting surface facing away from one side of the body 00 for displaying a first image. Specifically, the first display panel 2 may be an OLED organic light emitting display panel, i.e. having advantages of self-luminescence, high brightness, good display effect, etc., for example, the first display panel may include a plurality of light emitting pixels, each of which includes at least two color sub-pixels and a pixel driving circuit, such as a red sub-pixel, a green sub-pixel and a blue sub-pixel; the drive circuitry for driving the emissive pixels may be thin film transistors, such as the 2T1C, 7T1C circuits. Of course, other display panels, such as a liquid crystal display panel, a plasma display panel, a CRT display panel, or a Micro-LED display panel, etc. may be used. The projection area 22 may be transparent, transparent or non-transparent, such as a common non-display area, e.g., a camera area, a frame area; the particular location of the projection area 22 is not a particular requirement of the present invention.
In some embodiments, the display device 100 may be a mobile phone, a computer, a television, or the like, and the application is not limited thereto.
The display device 100 further includes a second display panel 3, which is disposed separately from the first display panel 2, that is, the second display panel 3 and the first display panel 2 are two display panels that display independently, the second display panel 3 may be located on a side of the first display panel 2 that is away from the light exit surface, the second display panel 3 is configured to display a second image, the second image may be an image that is independent of the first display image or a display image that may form a continuous pattern with the first display image, and specifically, the second display panel 3 may be similar to the first display panel 2 and may be an OLED organic light emitting display panel, a liquid crystal display panel, a plasma display panel, a CRT display panel or a Micro-LED display panel, and details thereof are not described herein.
Optionally, the areas of the second display panel 3 and the projection area 22 may be equal, or may be set according to a resolution, i.e. an algorithm, and the setting is flexible according to a space, which is not further limited in the present invention.
More specifically, the display device 100 further includes a cover plate 1 disposed on a light-emitting surface side of the first display panel 2, the cover plate 1 being transparent to protect the light-emitting display panel, and a housing 5.
For example, the second display panel 3 is disposed separately from the first display panel 2, the second display panel 3 may be disposed between the first display panel 2 and the housing 5, and the projection area 22 and the second display panel 3 do not overlap in the orthographic projection direction of the first display panel 2 and are disposed corresponding to the display area 21, so that the blocking of the light in the projection area is avoided.
The display device 100 further includes a projection module 4, and the projection module 4 is configured to project the second display image to the projection area 22, so that the projection area can correspondingly display the second image. When the projection area displays the second image, the color and brightness of the second image are not changed, and the more transparent the projection area is, the better the display effect of the second image is, for example, the projection module 4 may be located between the first display panel 2 and the housing 5, in the front projection direction of the first display panel 2, the projection area 22 and the second display panel 3 do not overlap, and the projection module is disposed corresponding to the second display panel 3, and may project the second display image to the projection area 22, so that the first display image displayed by the first display panel 2 and the second display image displayed by the second display panel 3 may form a substantially continuous image, or the second display image displayed by the second display panel 3 serves as an auxiliary display, so as to meet the requirement that the projection area 22 serves as a functional area.
When the projection area does not display the second image through the projection module, the projection area may be represented as a non-display area, such as a frame area, or may be a transparent area.
It should be noted that the first display panel 2 and the second display panel 3 can be respectively controlled by corresponding driving chips, for example, the first display panel driving chip obtains all data of the first display panel (which may be only the display area 21, or data of the display area 21 and the transmissive area 22, and since the transmissive area 22 does not write data, it is not affected) to control the image display of the first display panel, the second display panel driving chip obtains only data of the transmissive area 22, exemplarily, the display area 21 surrounds or partially surrounds the transmissive area 22, please refer to fig. 3a and 3b, fig. 3a is a schematic diagram of a display state when the display device of the present invention is not transmissive, fig. 3b is a schematic diagram of a display state after the display device of the present invention is transmissive, when the display panel is in a normal display state, and the projection module 4 is not transmissive, the display area 21 can normally display the first image a1, however, the picture in the transmissive area 22 is missing, and the transmissive area 22 is exemplified by no light emitting pixel, or a transparent area, or no data voltage is written, and the present inventors do not make a specific limitation. At this time, the driving chip controls the second display panel 3 to project the second image B1 generated by the second display panel to the projection area 22, and in order to ensure the requirement of the picture, the first image a1 and the second image B1 may form a substantially continuous display picture, the projection area of the first image a1 matches the area of the projection area 22, or the first image a1 and the second image B1 overlap according to the requirement of the picture; the projected area of the first image a1 may be larger than the area of the projection area 22, and the first image a1 and the second image B1 overlap in the projection of the display panel, i.e., there is an overlap region AB which may compensate for display anomalies that enhance the edges of the first image a 1.
In some embodiments, the projection module 4 comprises at least one refractive portion 6b and a reflective portion 6a, the reflective portion 6a being for reflecting the second display image; the refraction portion 6b is used for converging the second display image to a preset focus, or is used for refracting and projecting the second display image reflected by the reflection portion to the projection area again. FIG. 4a is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4b is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4c is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of the present invention; referring to fig. 4a to 4c, the reflection portion 6a may be disposed between the second display panel 3 and the housing 5, and the second display image displayed on the second display panel 3 is reflected by the reflection portion 6a, and may be further reflected to the projection area or to an element requiring secondary processing, specifically, the reflection portion 6a may be a mirror, a plane mirror, or a prism coated with a reflective material; the refraction portion 6b may also be disposed between the second display panel 3 and the housing 5, and converges the second display image displayed by the second display panel 3 at the predetermined focal point, and then processes the second display image by the secondary element to the projection area, or projects the second display image reflected by the predetermined focal point or the reflection portion to the projection area 22. The refraction portion 6b may be, for example, a convex lens, and the present invention is not particularly limited.

Optionally, in some other embodiments, the second display panel 3 may also be a flexible curved display panel, and is curved toward the side of the projection module 4, for example, the first display panel 2 may be disposed adjacent to the second display panel 3, and the curved display panel itself may converge the second display image generated by the curved display panel to a preset focus, so that a refraction component may be saved. More specifically, referring to fig. 6, fig. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view illustrating another embodiment of the invention, as shown in fig. 6, the projection module 4 may include a second reflection portion 6a and a third reflection portion 6b, where the second reflection portion 6a is disposed toward the first display panel 2 and is used for reflecting a second display image generated by the second display panel and converging to a preset focus; third reflection of light portion 6b sets up in one side that second reflection of light portion 6a is close to first display panel 2 for receive the second display image that second reflection of light portion 6a assembles and will assemble the second display image refract once more and throw extremely throw the district, so, throw module 4's structure simpler, occupation space is littleer, does benefit to and practices thrift module thickness. Optionally, the second display panel 3 in this embodiment may also be located on a side of the projection module away from the first display panel 2, and the second display image generated by the second display panel is projected to the projection area 22 through the light path change in the projection module 4.
In other embodiments, the second display panel 3 may be located on a side of the projection module 4 away from the first display panel 2, please refer to fig. 7, where fig. 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view of another embodiment of the present invention, a light emitting side of the second display panel 3 is disposed toward the first display panel 2, and the second display panel 3 is disposed parallel to the first display panel 3, so that the implementation is simpler. Optionally, the orthographic projection of the second display panel 3 and the projection module 4 on the display panel is located the display area 21, so set up, can make the projection module 4 set up more nimble, can throw to display panel's optional position, and if throw the corresponding regional one side of district 22 and set up other modules, for example make a video recording the module, fingerprint identification module etc. throw module 4 and make a video recording the module, fingerprint identification module etc. do not take place under the condition of interfering, can go up to realize throwing the demonstration of district 22. Of course, the present invention is not further limited to other arrangements.
Alternatively, the projection module 4 may include a third reflection part 6a1, a fourth reflection part 6a2, and a fourth refraction part 6 b; the third reflecting portion 6a1 is disposed adjacent to the first display panel 3, is bent toward the second display panel, and is configured to reflect the second display image generated by the second display panel and converge the generated second display image at a preset focus; the fourth reflecting part 6a2 is disposed toward the third reflecting part 6a1, and reflects the second display image converged at the preset focus; the fourth refraction portion 6b is disposed on a side of the fourth reflection portion 6a2 close to the first display panel 2, and is configured to receive the second display image converged by the fourth reflection portion and refractively project the converged second display image to the projection area again; through adjusting the light path, fourth reflection part 6a2 can be as far as on same extension line with second display panel 3, so set up, can further compress the thickness of display module assembly, reach better user experience.
Optionally, in some embodiments, the number of the projection modules 4 may be multiple, the multiple projection modules 4 are disposed around the projection area 22, please refer to fig. 8, and fig. 8 is a schematic cross-sectional view of another embodiment of the present invention, where at least two projection modules 4 are disposed around the projection area 22, and the orthographic projections of the projection modules 4 on the first display panel 2 are both located in the display area 21, and through the disposition of the multiple projection modules 4, the second display image in the projection area 22 may be compensated for multiple times, for example, an edge image of the second display image projected by one of the multiple projection modules 4 has information loss, and then another projection module may be controlled by the driving chip to compensate data of the edge image loss of the second display image in the projection area 22, so as to enhance the display effect; or when the first display panel 2 needs to be locally highlighted, the second display image 3 may project high-brightness light required by the projection module 4 to meet the brightness requirement, and when the first display panel 2 normally displays, the second display panel 3 synchronously projects information required to be displayed in the projection area 22 to compensate for the screen burning phenomenon in the area caused by the pixel brightness attenuation.
Based on the same inventive concept, the present invention further provides a display module, please refer to fig. 1 and 9, fig. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the display module according to the present invention, which includes a body 00, and a first display panel 2 disposed on the body, wherein the first display panel 2 includes a display area 21 and a projection area 22, and the display area 21 has a light-emitting surface facing away from one side of the body 00 for displaying a first image. The projection area 22 may be transparent, transparent or non-transparent, for example, a common non-display area such as a camera area or a frame area; the particular location of the projection area 22 is not a particular requirement of the present invention.
The display module further comprises a light-extracting module 200, wherein the light-extracting module 200 is arranged corresponding to the projection area 22; the light-extracting module comprises a camera, a fingerprint sensor and an iris sensor, and can meet the functional requirements of image acquisition, fingerprint identification and the like. The light extraction module 200 may perform image acquisition by light incident from the projection region 22.
The display module further includes a second display panel 3, which is disposed separately from the first display panel 2, the second display panel 3 is used for displaying a second image, specifically, the second display panel 3 may be similar to the first display panel 2, such as an OLED organic light emitting display panel, a liquid crystal display panel, a plasma display panel, a CRT display panel, or a Micro-LED display panel, etc., similar to the aforementioned display devices, and will not be described in detail herein.
The display module further includes a projection module 4, and the projection module 4 is configured to project the second display image to the projection area 22, so that the projection area can correspondingly display the second image. For example, the projection module 4 may be located between the first display panel 2 and the housing 5, the projection area 22 may not overlap with the second display panel 3 in the front projection direction of the first display panel 2, and is disposed corresponding to the second display panel 3, and may project the second display image to the projection area 22, so that the first display image displayed by the first display panel 2 and the second display image displayed by the second display panel 3 may form a substantially continuous image, or the second display image displayed by the second display panel 3 serves as an auxiliary display, so as to meet the requirement that the projection area 22 serves as a functional area.
In a possible embodiment, the projection area 22 includes a first state and a second state, in the first state, the projection area 22 displays a second display image projected by the projection module 4, for example, when the display module needs to perform normal display, the second display panel 3 projects information that needs to be displayed in the projection area 22 through the projection module 4, so as to achieve a function of normal display; in the second state, the projection area 22 no longer displays the second display image, and the light-capturing module 200 captures light rays emitted from the projection area 22 to capture the image, for example, when the display module needs to capture light rays, the projection module 4 is turned off, so that the projection area 22 does not have light-emitting pixels, and thus the light transmittance is very high, and the light-capturing module 200 captures required optical information through the projection area 22 without interference.
Specifically, the second display panel 3 can switch the working state according to the on and off of the light extraction module 200. For example, the display device and the display module further include an execution control module (not shown), which includes a detection module, a driving control module, and an adjustment control module, wherein the detection module is used to detect the operating state of the light-extracting module 200 in real time; the driving control module is used for controlling the first state and the second state of the second display panel 3 according to the detected working state of the light-extracting module 200; the adjusting control module is used for controlling the projection module 4 to adjust the projection mode when the second display panel 3 is in the first state, so that the second display image is better projected to the projection area 22. When the detection module detects that the light-taking module 200 is in the non-working state and the closed state, the driving control module drives the second display panel 3 to be switched to the first state for displaying, and controls the projection module 4 to adjust the projection mode, so that the second display image is better projected to the projection area 22, and full-screen display is realized; when the detection module detects that the light-extracting module 200 is in the working state and the open state, the driving control module drives the second display panel 3 to switch to the second state, so that the light-extracting module 200 collects the light rays shot from the projection area 22 for image collection.
According to the display module and the display device provided by the embodiment of the invention, the second display panel separated from the first display panel is arranged, and the projection module is utilized to project the picture displayed by the second display panel to the projection area of the first display panel, so that the effect that the display can be realized in the non-display area of the traditional display panel is achieved, the screen occupation ratio of the display screen is increased, and compared with the traditional implementation mode, the following difficulties are overcome:
the existing light-transmitting area is used for increasing the light transmittance, the pixel driving circuit is arranged in the non-display area, the light-emitting pixels are reserved in the projection area (the light-transmitting area), but the area of the non-display area is limited, so that the setting quantity of the pixel driving circuit is limited, the higher screen occupation ratio is prevented from being obtained, if the distance between the pixel driving circuit and the light-emitting pixels is far away, the problem of the overlarge impedance and uneven display is caused, and the problem of light diffraction is caused due to the regular shading of the light-emitting pixels, and the image collected by the light-taking module is blurred. On the other hand, the density of the light-emitting pixels reserved in the projection area (light-transmitting area) is low, and the pixels can be deformed in corresponding shapes or sizes, so that the brightness of the pixels is increased during normal display to make up for the brightness difference with the normal display area, and thus the aging of the light-emitting pixels reserved in the projection area (light-transmitting area) is accelerated, and the problem of non-uniform display is caused.
The technical features of the embodiments described above may be arbitrarily combined, and for the sake of brevity, all possible combinations of the technical features in the embodiments described above are not described, but should be considered as being within the scope of the present specification as long as there is no contradiction between the combinations of the technical features.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made in the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, if such modifications and variations of the present invention fall within the scope of the claims of the present invention and their equivalents, the present invention is also intended to include such modifications and variations.
