Description

Compression type bra for postoperative care
Technical Field
The invention relates to a compression type bra for postoperative care of female patients.
Background
After surgery on a woman's breast, a compression bra should be worn to support the healing process. Different designs are known. For example, patent document US2013/0252512a1 discloses a brassiere having a body portion surrounding the trunk of a female patient, a detachable shoulder strap, an inner pocket for receiving a pad, and a connecting element for attaching a drainage bag. The body portion is made of an elastic material.
Disclosure of Invention
Based on this prior art it was an object of the present invention to provide an improved brassiere of this type.
Against this background, the invention relates to a compression brassiere for post-operative care of female patients, comprising a body part with two shoulder straps for encircling the torso of a female patient and for spanning the shoulders of the female patient, wherein the body part is at least partly made of an elastically stretchable fabric, and in which one or more compression zones are integrally machined, which compression zones have a higher modulus of elasticity with respect to deformation in their direction of extension compared to the surrounding fabric.
Suitable textiles include both woven and knitted fabrics such as knits. The position and the modulus of elasticity of the compression zones, which are integrally machined into the fabric, i.e. not individually sewn or glued, can be variably adjusted within the framework of the production process, so that specific compression modes can be implemented for different surgical procedures (e.g. breast protection surgery, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, breast augmentation or breast reduction) without having to endure local seams which may lead to local pressure peaks.
In one embodiment, the compression zone is formed by altering the yarn pattern relative to the surrounding area of the body portion. In the case of a knitted fabric (e.g. a braid), for example, the yarn density or weave pattern may vary.
In one embodiment, the compression zones are formed by seamlessly processing additional elastic yarns into the fabric. The main direction of extension of the stitched-in yarns preferably corresponds to the direction of extension of the respective compression zone.
In one embodiment of the invention, a combination of the two measures described above may also be used. The altered yarn pattern and/or seamless knitting may be achieved, for example, in a circular knitting process.
With regard to the arrangement and extension of the compression zones, it can be provided that there is at least one pair of compression zones arranged and extending symmetrically with respect to the vertical central axis of the brassiere. For example, the at least one compression zone can extend linearly over the body section, wherein it is preferably provided that the compression zone extends over the back region perpendicularly or obliquely to the perpendicular direction. For example, an X-shaped back reinforcement, which is symmetrical with respect to the central axis, can be arranged centrally in the back region.
It can also be provided that the at least one compression zone extends circularly around the cup region. Thereby, the compression level can be adjusted according to or independently of the cup size.
Provision can also be made for at least one compression zone to extend in the region of the underarm incision.
In addition to the compression zones, the brassiere may also have a chest band integrally machined into the fabric. The horizontally extending under-chest straps encircle the body of the wearer and make the bra fit very well. Seamless manufacture also avoids an obstructive seam here.
Preferably, the shoulder strap is length adjustable and/or has two parts connected by a snap (Verschluss). Therefore, the user can finely adjust the length of the shoulder strap to meet personal requirements. The catch may be, for example, a velcro.
In one embodiment, the brassiere has one or more fastening elements in the back region and/or the chest circumference region. For example, fastening elements for connecting Stuttgarter gurtel may be present in the back region. In the left-hand and/or right-hand lower chest region, for example on the lower chest strap, a fastening element for connecting the drainage bag can be provided. Suitable fastening elements include, for example, hook and loop elements, hook and latch elements for attachment.
In the front or rear region of the body portion, the body portion may be separable and provided with closure elements, such as velcro and/or zippers, to facilitate donning and doffing.
In one embodiment, pockets for receiving breast prostheses can be sewn into the left and/or right cup regions.
In one embodiment, the bra is equipped with one or more integrated or replaceable wound dressings for absorbing wound exudate. The wound dressing may include, for example, a superabsorbent.
The fabric is typically made of a biocompatible material so as not to cause a reaction in the female patient, particularly in the surgical field. Furthermore, the fabric preferably has anti-soiling properties, particularly for medical fluids. The material may also have at least partly antibacterial properties to avoid infections in the operation area.
Drawings
Further details and advantages of the invention emerge from the following exemplary embodiments which are described with reference to the drawings. Shown in the drawings are:
FIG. 1 is a front view of a brassiere according to the present invention in its closed condition;
FIG. 2 is a rear view of a brassiere according to the present invention in its closed state; and
figure 3 is an interior view of a brassiere according to the present invention in its open state.
Detailed Description
In the drawings there is shown a brassiere according to the invention having a body 5 which is placed around the torso of a female patient.
The trunk has left and right side cups 2 on which pockets 12a and 12b for receiving mammary prostheses are sewn. The body 5 is divided into two parts in the middle of the front side between the cups 2 in order to enable the brassiere to be put on and taken off more easily. The two parts are connected by a separately sewn zipper 1.
The left and right shoulder straps 3 protrude upward from the main body 5, and they are also divided into two parts and have velcro tapes with a length adjusting function. The front shoulder strap portion tapers upwardly from the breast cup 2 in the upper chest region 8.
The chest circumferential band 4, which extends horizontally under the cups 2, ensures a good fit.
Snap pads 11 for attaching a stuttgart strap are fastened on the back side 7 of the body. A hook 13 for hanging the drainage bag is located in the area of the chest girdle 4.
The body 5 and the shoulder straps 3 of the brassiere are substantially made of an elastically stretchable knitted fabric in which a plurality of compression zones are integrally worked, which have a higher modulus of elasticity with respect to the deformation in the direction of extension thereof compared to the surrounding fabric. The process is seamlessly achieved in a circular knitting process by changing the knitting pattern and adding different types of yarns as necessary.
The compression zone includes: left and right underarm regions 6a and 6b projecting linearly downward from the underarm incision, left and right chest rings 9a and 9b surrounding the breast cups 2, and a back reinforcement zone 10 extending in an X-shape over the entire back area 7.
The under-chest band 4 is integrally formed into the braid in the same manner as the compression regions 6a, 6b, 9 and 10.
The closing and connecting elements 1, 11 and 13 and the straps on the edges can additionally be sewn in.
