The first ground plate 91 is arranged on the first side surface 56 of the second insulating body 50, the second ground plate 92 is arranged on the second side surface 57 opposite to the first side surface 56, the second insulating body 50 is provided with a first mounting frame 561 for mounting the first ground plate 91 and a second mounting frame 571 for mounting the second ground plate 92, the first mounting frame 561 has the same outline of the first ground plate 91, the second mounting frame 571 has the same outline of the second ground plate 92, the first mounting frame 561 is recessed from the first side surface 56 of the second insulating body 50 to the second insulating body 50, the second mounting frame 571 is recessed from the second side surface 57 of the second insulating body 50 to the second insulating body 50, the thickness of the first ground plate 91 is not more than the depth of the first mounting frame 561, and the thickness of the second ground plate 92 is not more than the depth of the second mounting frame 571, preferably, the depth of the first mounting frame 561 is the same as the depth of the first ground plate 91, and the depth of the second mounting frame 571 is the same as the thickness of the second ground plate 92, so that, in this embodiment, after the first ground plate 91 and the second ground plate 92 are mounted on the second insulating body 50, each terminal module 40 has the same thickness as the thickness of the second insulating body 50. The first mounting frame 561 further has a hole 565 formed therein, wherein the hole 565 penetrates the first side 56 and the second side 57 of the second insulating body 50, and is generally slit-shaped. The second ground plate 92 is provided with a slot 902, and the first ground plate 91 comprises a contact tab 901, the contact tab 901 extends through the hole 565 and mates with the slot 902 to mechanically and electrically connect the first ground plate 91 and the second ground plate 92.
The first ground plate 91 includes a first flat plate portion 910, a first contact portion 911 extending from the first flat plate portion 910 in the mating direction, and a first mounting leg 913 extending from the first flat plate portion 910 to the circuit board direction, the second ground plate 92 includes a second flat plate portion 920, a second contact portion 921 extending from the second flat plate portion 920 in the mating direction, and a second mounting leg 923 extending from the second flat plate portion 920 in the circuit board direction, and the length of the first contact portion 911 extending in the mating direction is greater than the length of the second contact portion 921 extending in the mating direction. The first contact portion 911 is closer to the second insulating body 50 than the first flat plate portion 910, and the second contact portion 921 is in the same plane as the second flat plate portion 920, so the first contact portion 911 is also closer to the second contact portion 921. When the terminal modules 40 are assembled together, the distance between the first contact portion 911 and the second contact portion 921 of the adjacent first ground plate 91 and the adjacent second ground plate 92 of two adjacent terminal modules 40 is greater than the distance between the first flat plate portion 910 and the second flat plate portion 920, so that the first butting portion 313 of the first ground plate 31 of the first electrical connector 1 can extend into between the first contact portion 911 and the second contact portion 921 and be mechanically and electrically connected with both the first contact portion 911 and the second contact portion 921, wherein the flat plate portion 315 of the first butting portion 313 is matched with the second contact portion 921, and the contact spring 319 is matched with the first contact portion 911 in a contact manner. The first plate portion 910 includes a first aperture 917 engageable with the contact piece 851 of the ground terminal 81, and the second plate portion 920 includes a plurality of second apertures 927 engageable with the contact pieces 851 of the second side of the ground terminal 81. Of course, one of the first ground plate 91 or the second ground plate 92 may be in contact with the ground terminal. The ground terminal 81, the first ground plate 91 and the second ground plate 92 cooperate with each other to form a shielding channel with a closed periphery, and completely shield the pair of signal terminals 71 located in the channel in the circumferential direction on the whole transmission path, so that the influence of crosstalk between the pair of signal terminals 71 is reduced to an optimal state, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing signal crosstalk between each pair of signal terminals and achieving signal transmission at a higher rate.
After the first electrical connector 1 and the second electrical connector 2 are mated, each pair of straight-headed terminals 20 and the corresponding signal terminals 71 are mated with each other to form a pair of signal paths, the first grounding plate 31 is mechanically connected with the adjacent first grounding plate 91 and the second grounding plate 92 of the two adjacent terminal modules, and the second grounding plate 32 and the grounding terminal 81 are mated with each other to form a pair of straight-headed terminals 20 and signal terminals 71 of the signal paths, which are completely shielded in the circumferential direction on the whole transmission path, so that the electromagnetic crosstalk shielding effect is good. And the structure is simple and reliable, and better conditions are provided for stable transmission of high-frequency signals.

Claims (10)

1. An electrical connector for mounting on a circuit board and mating with a mating connector, the electrical connector comprising a plurality of terminal modules, the terminal modules including an insulative housing, a plurality of pairs of signal terminals held in the insulative housing and spaced apart in a vertical direction, and ground terminals located on opposite sides of each pair of signal terminals in the vertical direction, the electrical connector comprising: the signal terminals are disposed in the same plane, and the ground terminals are disposed in planes intersecting the same plane.
2. The electrical connector of claim 1, wherein: the ground terminal is disposed in a plane perpendicular to the same plane.
3. The electrical connector of claim 2, wherein: the insulating body comprises a first insulating body and a second insulating body, the signal terminal is fixed in the first insulating body, and the grounding terminal is fixed in the second insulating body.
4. The electrical connector of claim 3, wherein: each pair of signal terminals is integrally formed on the first insulating body, and the plurality of ground terminals are integrally formed on the second insulating body.
5. The electrical connector of claim 3, wherein: a plurality of grooves are formed in one side face of the second insulating body, and each groove accommodates a corresponding first insulating body.
6. The electrical connector of claim 5, wherein: the second insulating body comprises bulges positioned at two sides of each groove, and the grounding terminal is positioned at the position of the bulge.
7. The electrical connector of claim 1, wherein: the ground terminal comprises a wide side and a narrow side, and the size of the wide side of the ground terminal is larger than that of the wide side of the signal terminal.
8. The electrical connector of claim 7, wherein: the signal terminals include butt-joint ends extending from the first insulating body, the ground terminals include ground mating ends extending from the second insulating body, a pair of butt-joint end narrow-side couplings of the signal terminals, and the ground mating ends of the ground terminals located on both sides of the pair of signal terminals are broadside coupled.
9. The electrical connector of claim 8, wherein: the first joint plate, the second joint plate and the grounding terminal are combined together to shield the pair of signal terminals from the axial direction.
10. The electrical connector of claim 9, wherein: at least one of the first grounding plate and the second grounding plate is provided with a gap, and the grounding terminal comprises a contact inserting sheet which extends out of the insulating body and is matched with the gap.
