Therefore, the mainstream modes of IPTV service network access and home networking provided by telecom operators are as shown in fig. 1: the user IPTV set-top box must be directly connected with the IPTV special access port of the home gateway, and dial-up access is carried out to an IPTV service transmission special network (or an IPTV service transmission special virtual network) deployed by a broadband operator through the IPTV special port of the home gateway. However, an IPTV set-top box connected to an IPTV dedicated access port will only be able to access services on the IPTV service delivery private network, and not on the internet.
The current IPTV service access networking form faces the following problems: (1) the integration operation of the cross-screen product forms of mobile phones, IPTV, PC and PAD is more and more deep, and the unification of cross-screen integration services on the network service level is urgently needed; (2) the IPTV terminal urgently needs to be capable of directly accessing public Internet services to enrich the product per se; (3) more and more families have built private network routers under the scene of home networking.
In view of the problems, it is desirable to provide a service scenario for operating a public network IPTV service network: the IPTV terminal and other terminals (PC, mobile phone, PAD) are directly accessed to the broadband public Internet through a home private network router, so that the IPTV terminal can directly enjoy multicast service of live broadcast channels on the public Internet. The following problems need to be solved to realize the IPTV service operation service scenario: (1) the IPTV terminal is accessed under a home private network router and needs to be capable of enjoying channel multicast service; (2) multicast services of live channels enjoyed by the IPTV terminals can be managed and operated.

The invention provides a method for IPTV controllable multicast operation service in a home router environment, which enables a user to safely and reliably use IPTV live broadcast service in the home private network router environment. Fig. 2 illustrates an IPTV service network access and home networking mode according to the present invention. As shown in fig. 2, the IPTV set-top box is no longer connected to the IPTV dedicated access port of the home gateway, but is connected to the home private network router, which is then connected to any ordinary network port of the home gateway, instead of the IPTV dedicated port. The specific functions and operations of the various components of this networking will be described in greater detail with reference to the following figures.
Fig. 3 is an exemplary architecture diagram of an IPTV system according to an embodiment of the invention. As shown in fig. 3, the IPTV system of the present invention may include an IPTV service management system, a broadband access authentication (AAA) authentication system, and an operator access network multicast control device located on a public network side, and a home gateway, a home private network router, and an IPTV set-top box located under a home networking, wherein the home gateway, the home private network router, and the IPTV set-top box are connected in the manner described in fig. 2.
In order to realize the controllable multicast operation service of the IPTV set-top box under the scene of the home private network router, the home gateway and the home private network router can be customized, so that the home gateway has the multicast transparent transmission function, the heartbeat detection function and the channel multicast authorization function, and the home private network router has the multicast transparent transmission function and the heartbeat detection function.
The core functions of the components such as the AAA authentication system, the home gateway, the home private network router, the IPTV service management system and the like which are mainly related in the architecture are as follows:
1. home private network router:
(1) the home private network router of the user is configured as IPTV multicast proxy equipment in the framework and used for realizing the transparent transmission of Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) messages between the home gateway and the set top box of the user;
(2) the home private network router is configured to provide mapping relationship maintenance and management of IPTV set-top box multicast request source address information and multicast destination addresses; and
(3) the home private network router is configured to provide a heartbeat detection program for periodically checking whether the user IPTV set-top box is online and whether a multicast stream is delivered. If the user IPTV set-top box is not on-line, but the home gateway still issues the multicast stream to the IPTV set-top box, the home private network router can send a multicast quitting request to the home gateway.
2. A home gateway:
(1) the home gateway is configured to receive and store a channel multicast authorization list sent by the AAA authentication system, and only allows multicast address join requests in the scope of the authorization list;
(2) the home gateway is configured to receive a channel multicast authorization address update notification sent by the IPTV service management system and initiate authentication to the AAA authentication system again;
(3) the home gateway is configured to provide mapping relationship maintenance and management of multicast request source address information and multicast destination addresses; and
(4) the home gateway is configured to provide a heartbeat detection program, periodically check whether the home private network router is online and whether multicast stream issuing exists, and if the home private network router is not online but still has multicast stream issuing to the private network router, the home gateway sends an exit multicast request upwards.
3. AAA authentication system:
(1) the AAA authentication system is configured to authenticate the user broadband access; and
(2) and inquiring a channel multicast authorization list of the current broadband access user from the IPTV service management system, and issuing the channel multicast authorization list to the home gateway of the user.

(1) the IPTV service management system is configured to manage various IPTV-related services, including but not limited to: authentication, subscription, unsubscribe and charging management;
(2) providing an interface for an AAA authentication system to inquire a channel multicast authorization list of a current broadband access user; and
(3) when a user subscribes a new multicast channel on line, the IPTV service management system inquires the home gateway public network IP address of the current user from the AAA authentication system and sends a channel multicast authorization address update notice to the home gateway public network IP address and the designated port of the user.
The interaction steps of the core modules of the present invention are described in detail in four practical scenarios.
First, user set-top box request channel multicast playing scene flow
Fig. 4 is an exemplary flowchart of a user set-top box requesting a channel multicast play scenario according to an embodiment of the present invention.
1. The home gateway is started, the AAA authentication system accesses the Internet through the broadband access, and inquires a channel multicast authorization list under the home broadband account from the IPTV service management system;
2. the AAA authentication system sends a channel multicast authorization list to the home gateway, the home gateway records the list, and only a multicast address in the range of the authorization list is allowed to join a request in the following process;
3. after a home private network router and an IPTV set top box are started, a user selects a certain channel multicast service on the set top box, and the IPTV set top box sends an IGMP request to the home private network router to apply for joining the multicast;
4. the method comprises the steps that a home private network router receives an IGMP request of a set top box, the home private network router carries out multicast proxy to transmit the IGMP request to a home gateway in a transparent mode, and a source address and a port of the IPTV set top box of the request are recorded;
5. the home gateway judges whether the multicast request target address is in a channel multicast authorization list: (a) if the multicast request destination address is in the authorization list, enabling a multicast agent to transmit the IGMP request to a broadband operator access network, and recording the requested home private network router source address and port by a home gateway; (b) if the multicast request target address is not in the authorization list, ending the multicast request;
6. after receiving a multicast request of a home gateway, the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment sends a multicast stream to the home gateway, and after receiving a channel multicast stream, the home gateway sends the channel multicast stream according to a home private network router source address and a port which are recorded by an IGMP request;
7. after receiving the channel multicast stream, the home private network router sends the channel multicast stream according to the set top box source address and the port recorded by the IGMP request;
8. and the set-top box player receives and plays the channel multicast stream.
Second, user set-top box online ordering pay multicast channel scene flow
Fig. 5 is an exemplary flow diagram of a subscriber ordering a paid multicast channel on-line via a set-top box scenario according to one embodiment of the invention.
1. A user successfully orders a certain payment channel on an IPTV service portal through an IPTV set-top box;
2. the IPTV service management system inquires the public network access IP address of the user home gateway from the AAA authentication system;
3. the IPTV service management system issues a channel multicast authorization address update notification to a public network access IP address of the user home gateway;
4. the home gateway initiates authentication to the AAA authentication system again, and the AAA authentication system inquires a channel multicast authorization list under the home broadband account from the IPTV service management system;
5. the AAA authentication system sends a channel multicast authorization list to the home gateway, the home gateway records the list, and only the multicast address in the range of the authorization list is allowed to join the request in the follow-up process. Note that the list already contains the multicast channels that the user has just subscribed online;
6. the subsequent flow refers to the flow of the user set top box requesting the channel multicast playing scene.
Thirdly, the user quits the live broadcast, switches channels and the like in normal leaving scenes
1. When a user leaves a certain channel for multicast playing (for example, the user exits from live television), the IPTV set-top box sends a multicast leaving request;
2. the home private network router transparently transmits the multicast leaving request to the home gateway through a multicast agent, and clears the source address and port information record of the IPTV set-top box in the channel multicast cache mapping relation table;
3. the home gateway continuously sends a multicast leaving request to the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment through the multicast proxy, and clears the source address and port information record of the home private network router in the channel multicast cache mapping relation table;
4. the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment stops the sending of the multicast stream.
The process of switching channels by the user is equivalent to the process of the user exiting from multicast playing of a certain channel plus the process of the user requesting multicast playing of a channel described in fig. 4.
Fourth, the user directly closes the IPTV set-top box or the home private network router
In daily use, a user also often directly turns off the power supply of the IPTV set-top box and/or the home private network router instead of exiting the live broadcast program first, and in order to inform an operator access network multicast control device to stop issuing multicast streams, heartbeat detection programs can be respectively provided on the home private network router and the home gateway.
1. The heartbeat detection program provided on the router of the home private network is used for periodically detecting whether the IPTV set top box in the private network is off-line. If the IPTV set top box is detected to be off-line:
(1) the home private network router checks whether a multicast stream sent to the IP address of the IPTV set-top box exists;
(2) if the multicast stream sent to the IP address of the IPTV set-top box exists, sending a multicast leaving request to the home gateway; otherwise, no operation is performed.
2. The home gateway also provides a heartbeat detection program for periodically detecting whether the home private network router is off-line. If the fact that the family private network router is off line is detected:
(1) the home gateway checks whether a multicast stream to a home private network router exists;
(2) if the multicast stream sent to the home private network router exists, sending a multicast leaving request to the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment; otherwise, no operation is performed.
The following describes in detail the operation steps of the complete process of the user IPTV set-top box power-on, channel playing request, channel switching, channel ordering and IPTV set-top box power-off:
step 1: a user home gateway, a home private network router and an IPTV set top box are started;
step 2: the user IPTV set-top box accesses the public Internet through a user home private network router and a user home gateway;
and step 3: AAA authentication system inquires channel multicast address authorization list of current broadband access user to IPTV service management system, and sends down channel multicast address authorization list to user home gateway;
and 4, step 4: the user home gateway records a multicast channel authorization address list;
and 5: the user IPTV set-top box accesses the IPTV service management system to authenticate;
step 6: after the IPTV service management system passes the authentication, the IPTV set-top box enters an IPTV EPG home page;
and 7: the user selects a specific channel (CCTV-1 is adopted as the following example);
and 8: the set top box sends a channel multicast IGMP adding request according to the multicast address provided by the application, and requests to add CCTV-1 channel multicast service;
and step 9: the family private network router starts a multicast proxy to transparently transmit the IGMP request and performs multicast channel request mapping relation cache of a lower layer network;
step 10: the home gateway compares the target address of the multicast request with a multicast channel authorized address list stored by the home gateway, and confirms that the multicast request address is in the multicast channel authorized address list;
step 11: the home gateway starts a multicast proxy to transparently transmit the IGMP request to a broadband operator access network, and performs multicast channel request mapping relation caching of a lower network;
step 12: after receiving the multicast request of the home gateway, the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment transmits the CCTV-1 multicast stream to the home gateway;
step 13: after receiving the channel multicast stream, the home gateway and the home private network router issue the channel multicast stream layer by layer according to the address and the port recorded by the IGMP request;
step 14: the set-top box player receives a broadcast channel multicast stream to broadcast a CCTV-1 channel;
step 15: the user switches to a certain pay channel (the user has not subscribed to the pay channel) using the remote controller;
step 16: the set-top box sends a multicast request for leaving CCTV-1 channel, the home private network router and the home gateway start the IGMP proxy to transparently transmit the request, stop issuing the CCTV-1 multicast stream and clear the IP address information mapping relation cache record of the CCTV-1 channel request service. After receiving the multicast leaving request of the home router, the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment stops issuing CCTV-1 multicast stream to the home router;
and step 17: an EPG of an IPTV set-top box initiates a request for authenticating the pay live broadcast service to an IPTV service management system;
step 18: the IPTV service management system replies that the authentication is not passed, and prompts the user to order through an IPTV service portal;
step 19: a user initiates an ordering request to an IPTV service management system and completes the ordering;
step 20: the IPTV service management system inquires the public network access IP address of the user home gateway from the AAA authentication system and issues a channel multicast authorization address update notification to the public network access IP address of the user home gateway;
step 21: the home gateway requests the AAA authentication system for a channel multicast authorization address list again, and the AAA authentication system inquires the IPTV service management system for the channel multicast authorization list under the home broadband account again;
step 22: the home gateway records the update list;
step 23: the set-top box sends a request for multicast joining to the paid channel, and the subsequent multicast joining process refers to a normal set-top box request CCTV-1 channel for playing;
step 24: the user closes the IPTV set-top box;
step 25: a user private network router detection program detects that the user IPTV set top box is off-line;
step 26: the user private network router detects that the multicast stream issued to the private network address of the user IPTV set-top box still exists;
step 27: a user private network router sends a multicast quit request to a home gateway, and clears a multicast request service mapping relation cache record related to the IP address information of the IPTV set-top box;
step 28: the home gateway clears the multicast request service mapping relation cache record related to the IP address information of the IPTV set-top box and sends a multicast quit request to the multicast control equipment of the operator access network;
step 29: the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment receives the multicast quitting request, and the broadband operator access network multicast control equipment stops issuing the channel multicast stream.
Fig. 6 is an exemplary flow diagram of a method 600 for providing IPTV multicast services in a public network and home router environment according to an embodiment of the present invention. The method 600 may include the steps of:
step 601: the home gateway is connected with an IPTV service management system, an AAA authentication system and an operator access network multicast control device in a communication way through a public network;
step 602: a home private network router is connected to the home gateway. As described earlier, the home private network router may connect any of the ordinary ports of the home gateway, not the IPTV private port;
step 603: an IPTV set-top box is connected to a home private network router. As described earlier, the IPTV set-top box is no longer connected to the IPTV dedicated access port of the home gateway, but is connected to the home private network router;
step 604: and configuring a home private network router to provide a multicast proxy function, wherein the multicast proxy function is used for transmitting the multicast request from the IPTV set-top box to the home gateway and further transmitting the multicast stream transmitted by the home gateway to the IPTV set-top box. As an example, an existing home private network router for a user may be configured through its configuration user interface, or through a firmware update by way of router firmware provided by the router manufacturer. This functionality can be integrated for a router product that is shipped from a factory. In addition, a home private network router may also be configured to provide the heartbeat detection functionality described previously; and
step 605: configuring a home gateway to maintain a channel multicast authorization list and provide a multicast proxy function, and being used for transmitting a multicast request to an operator access network multicast control device and further transmitting a multicast stream transmitted by the operator access network multicast control device to a home private network router when a target address of the multicast request from the home private network router is in the channel multicast authorization list. The home gateway is typically provided by a telecommunications operator and can therefore be configured by the operator by means of remote updating or replacement of new products. In addition, the home gateway may also be configured to provide the heartbeat detection functionality described previously.
Optionally, the method 600 may further comprise the processing step of allowing the user to subscribe online to the pay-per-multicast channel:
in response to the successful subscription of a new channel on an IPTV service portal by a user, the IPTV service management system inquires a public network IP address of a home gateway of the user from the AAA authentication system and issues a channel multicast authorization address update notification to the public network IP address;
in response to receiving the channel multicast authorization address update notification, the home gateway initiates an authentication request to an AAA authentication system;
the AAA authentication system inquires an updated channel multicast authorization list from the IPTV service management system when receiving the authentication request, and sends the updated channel multicast authorization list to the home gateway; and
and the home gateway records the updated channel multicast authorization list.
What has been described above includes examples of aspects of the claimed subject matter. It is, of course, not possible to describe every conceivable combination of components or methodologies for purposes of describing the claimed subject matter, but one of ordinary skill in the art may recognize that many further combinations and permutations of the claimed subject matter are possible. Accordingly, the disclosed subject matter is intended to embrace all such alterations, modifications and variations that fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
