Abstract

An electrical connector set comprises a positioning member, a first plug-in connector and a second plug-in connector, and is used for providing electrical connection between a first electric wire extending towards a first direction and a second electric wire extending towards a second direction so as to realize electrical connection between two electric wires extending in different directions.

Technical Field
The present invention relates to an electrical connector set, and more particularly, to an electrical connector set capable of electrically connecting two wires extending in different directions.
Background
In the 5G era, electronic products have become indispensable articles for human life, and with the development of technology, the functions of electronic products are increasing, so that more and more wires are used for transmitting signals in electronic products.
Generally, an electrical connector assembly includes two plug connectors in a group. Limited by the structural design, the two plug connectors of the prior electrical connector set can only be electrically connected with two corresponding wires extending in parallel respectively. However, nowadays, the demand for the electronic product to be light, thin, small and portable is continuously increased, so that the space for extending the two corresponding wires inside the electronic product is limited, and the two corresponding wires inside the electronic product may extend perpendicularly to each other, and cannot complete signal transmission through the existing electrical connector set.
From the above, it is known how to provide a new structural design for an electrical connector set, so as to enable two corresponding wires extending perpendicularly to each other to transmit signals, thereby providing various light, thin and small electronic products.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above-mentioned shortcomings of the prior art, the present application provides an electrical connector set capable of electrically overlapping two wires extending in different directions.
In order to achieve the above and other related objects, the present application provides an electrical connector assembly, which is provided with a first electrical wire and a second electrical wire respectively connected in an overlapping manner, wherein the first electrical wire is located in an electronic product, and the electronic product has a receiving space, the electrical connector assembly includes a positioning member, a first plug connector, and a second plug connector, wherein the positioning member is embedded in the receiving space and has a positioning slot, a first guiding structure and a second guiding structure, and the first guiding structure guides the first electrical wire to extend into the positioning slot in a first direction for positioning; the first plug connector has a first plug connector body, an IDC terminal and a first plug terminal, the first plug terminal is electrically connected with the IDC terminal, the IDC terminal has a piercing structure, wherein the second guiding structure guides the IDC terminal to extend into the positioning slot in a second direction, so that the piercing structure pierces the outer skin of the first wire to electrically connect the IDC terminal with the core wire of the first wire; the second plug connector has a second plug connector body and a second plug terminal, the second plug terminal is electrically connected to the core wire of the second wire, wherein the second plug connector body is plugged into the first plug connector body, so that the second plug terminal enters the first plug connector body to plug the first plug terminal, so that the second plug terminal is electrically connected to the first plug terminal, and the core wire of the second wire is electrically connected to the core wire of the first wire through the second plug terminal, the first plug terminal and the IDC terminal.
In one embodiment, the first direction and the second direction intersect substantially perpendicularly.
In one embodiment, the IDC terminal further has an IDC engaging structure that engages the wall of the interior space of the positioning member during entry of the IDC terminal into the positioning slot to position the IDC terminal in the positioning member and maintain the IDC terminal in electrical connection with the first wire.
In one embodiment, the first plug terminal has a tongue plate structure, and the second plug terminal has a holding structure, wherein the holding structure holds the tongue plate structure to maintain the second plug terminal electrically connected to the first plug terminal.
In one embodiment, the first plug connector further has a first sealing structure disposed at an interface of the first plug connector body and the IDC terminal to provide moisture isolation between the first plug connector body and the IDC terminal.
In one embodiment, the first plug connector further has a second sealing structure disposed at an interface of the first plug connector body and the second plug connector body to provide moisture isolation between the first plug connector body and the second plug connector body.
In an embodiment, the connector further includes an anti-falling structure disposed on the first plug connector body and/or the second plug connector body to prevent the second plug connector body plugged into the first plug connector body from falling off.
In one embodiment, the positioning device further comprises a positioning fitting embedded in the positioning member to separate the inner space of the positioning member into the positioning groove and an accommodating groove, and the positioning fitting has a third guiding structure, a stopping structure and a penetrating structure, wherein the third guiding structure guides the first wire to extend into the positioning groove for positioning; the stopping structure stops the IDC terminal from moving so that the IDC terminal is positioned in the positioning groove; the piercing structure is provided to penetrate the positioning groove and enter the accommodating groove, so as to ensure that the piercing structure pierces the outer skin of the first wire.
Compared with the prior art, the electric connector set of the present application utilizes the positioning member having the first guiding structure and the second guiding structure to electrically connect the two electric wires extending in different directions, so as to satisfy the development trend of light, thin, short and small electronic products.

Detailed Description
The following description of the present application will be provided in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, and it is to be understood that other advantages and effects of the present application will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the description herein. The application is capable of other and different embodiments or applications. Various modifications and changes may be made in the details of the present description without departing from the spirit of the application, which is intended to be limited only by the scope of the claims. In particular, the relative proportions and positions of the various elements in the drawings are exemplary only, and are not intended to represent the actual conditions in which the present application is practiced.
Fig. 1 to 5 show schematic views of different embodiments of the electrical connector set 1 of the present application, as shown in the drawings, the electrical connector set 1 is used for providing an electrical connection between a first electrical wire 20 and a second electrical wire 30. In the embodiment, the first wire 20 is located in an electronic product 2, and the electronic product 2 has an accommodating space 21 (as shown in fig. 4 and 5). The electronic product 2 is, for example, a piezoelectric defogging electronic product or a vehicle electronic product.
Referring to fig. 2, the electrical connector set 1 of the present application mainly includes a positioning member 11, a first plug connector 12, and a second plug connector 13.
As shown in fig. 5, the positioning member 11 is embedded in the accommodating space 21 of the electronic product 2. Referring to fig. 6 and fig. 7, in the present embodiment, the positioning member 11 further has a positioning slot 111, a first guiding structure 112 and a second guiding structure 113, wherein the first guiding structure 112 is used for guiding the first wire 20 of the electronic product 2 to extend into the positioning slot 111 in a first direction for positioning (as shown in fig. 4 to fig. 6 and fig. 10).
Referring to fig. 8 and 9, the first plug connector 12 has a first plug connector body 121, an IDC terminal 122 (shown in fig. 8), and a first plug terminal 123 (shown in fig. 9), in the embodiment, the first plug terminal 123 and the IDC terminal 122 are electrically connected to each other inside the first plug connector body 121, and are respectively exposed at two opposite ends of the first plug connector body 121, so that the occupied space of the electrical connector set can be reduced, and the IDC terminal 122 further has a piercing structure 1221. Referring to fig. 5 to 7 and 10, the second guiding structure 113 of the positioning member 11 is used to guide the IDC terminals 122 of the first plug connector 12 to extend into the positioning slot 111 in a second direction different from the first direction, so that the puncturing structure 1221 punctures the outer skin of the first wires 20 and exposes the core wire portions (not shown) of the first wires 20, thereby allowing the IDC terminals 122 of the first plug connector 12 to be electrically connected to the core wire portions of the first wires 20 (as shown in fig. 5). In the embodiment, the first direction and the second direction are substantially perpendicular to each other, that is, the extending direction of the first wire 20 of the electronic product 2 is perpendicular to the extending direction of the second wire 30, but not limited to the perpendicular intersection, and any other intersecting angle between the first direction and the second direction may be applicable.
In the embodiment of the present application, the IDC terminal 122 further has an IDC engagement structure 1222, wherein the IDC terminal 122 is positioned in the positioning member 11 by the IDC engagement structure 1222 engaging the wall of the inner space of the positioning member 11 during the process of the IDC terminal 122 entering the positioning slot 111 of the positioning member 11, thereby providing a state of maintaining the electrical connection between the IDC terminal 122 and the first wire 20. In the present embodiment, the IDC engaging structure 1222 is, for example, a barb structure to engage with the wall of the inner space of the positioning member 11, but not limited thereto, and other structures may be suitable.
In another embodiment, the electrical connector set 1 further includes a positioning fitting 15, and the positioning fitting 15 is formed by a plate-shaped body, please refer to fig. 10 and 11, wherein the positioning fitting 15 can be embedded in the positioning member 11 to divide the inner space of the positioning member 11 into the positioning groove 111 and the accommodating groove 114. As shown in fig. 10, the positioning fitting 15 further has a third guiding structure 151, a stopping structure 152 and a penetrating structure 153, wherein the third guiding structure 151 is used for guiding the first electric wire 20 to extend into the positioning slot 111 of the positioning member 11 for positioning; the stop structure 152 is used for stopping the movement of the IDC terminals 122 of the first plug connector 12 so that the IDC terminals 122 are positioned at the designated positions in the positioning grooves 111, thereby ensuring that good electrical connection is maintained between the IDC terminals 122 and the core wires of the first wires 20; furthermore, the piercing structure 1221 of the IDC terminal 122 can extend from the positioning slot 111 of the positioning member 11 into the receiving slot 114 through the through-structure 153, thereby ensuring that the piercing structure 1221 pierces the sheath of the first wire 20 to electrically connect the core portion of the first wire 20 to the IDC terminal 122. In addition, in the present embodiment, the IDC engagement structure 1222 may be engaged with the positioning fitting 15, so that the IDC terminal 122 may be indirectly positioned in the positioning member 11, thereby maintaining the electrical connection between the IDC terminal 122 and the first electrical wire 20.
Referring to fig. 12 to 16, the second plug connector 13 of the present application has a second plug connector body 131 and a second plug terminal 132, wherein the second plug terminal 132 is electrically connected to the core wire of the second wire 30 (as shown in fig. 16), the second plug terminal 132 is located in the inner space of the second plug connector body 131, as shown in fig. 5 and 14, the second plug connector body 131 of the second plug connector 13 can be plugged into the first plug connector body 121 of the first plug connector 12, so that the second plug terminal 132 of the second plug connector 1 can enter the first plug connector body 121 to be plugged into the first plug terminal 123 located in the first plug connector body 121, and the second plug terminal 132 is electrically connected to the first plug terminal 123. Thus, the core wire of the second electric wire 30 extending in the second direction can be electrically connected to the core wire of the first electric wire 20 extending in the first direction via the second jack terminal 132, the first jack terminal 123, and the IDC terminal 122 in this order (as shown in fig. 5).
As shown in fig. 14, in an embodiment, the first plug terminal 123 is designed as a tongue plate structure 1231, for example, and the second plug terminal 132 is designed as a clamping structure 1321, for example, so that the clamping structure 1321 clamps the tongue plate structure 1231 to maintain the state of the second plug terminal 132 electrically connected to the first plug terminal 123.
Furthermore, the electrical connector set 1 further has an anti-falling structure 14, as shown in fig. 9, fig. 12 and fig. 15, in the present embodiment, the anti-falling structure 14 includes a groove disposed on the inner wall of the first plug connector body 121 and a protrusion disposed on the outer wall of the second plug connector body 131, wherein when the second plug connector body 131 is plugged into the first plug connector body 121, the protrusion on the outer wall of the second plug connector body 131 is engaged with the groove on the inner wall of the first plug connector body 121, so as to prevent the second plug connector body 131 from falling off from the first plug connector body 121. It should be noted that, in other embodiments, the anti-falling off structure 14 includes a protrusion disposed on the inner wall of the first plug connector body 121 and a groove disposed on the outer wall of the second plug connector body 131, but not limited to the above.
With continued reference to fig. 17, in another embodiment, the first plug connector 12 further has a first sealing structure 124, wherein the first sealing structure 124 is disposed at the intersection of the first plug connector body 121 and the IDC terminals 122 to provide moisture isolation between the first plug connector body 121 and the IDC terminals 122. In addition, the first plug connector 12 may further have a second sealing structure 125 disposed at the interface between the first plug connector body 121 and the second plug connector body 131 to provide water and air isolation between the first plug connector body 121 and the second plug connector body 131.
In summary, the electrical connector set of the present application is provided with the positioning member having the first guiding structure and the second guiding structure, so as to guide the first electrical wire to extend into the positioning groove to be positioned in the first direction by the first guiding structure, and guide the IDC terminal to extend into the positioning groove to be positioned in the second direction by the second guiding structure, thereby providing an electrical connection between the first electrical wire and the second electrical wire extending in two different directions. Meanwhile, the electric connector set can also reduce the occupied space, thereby meeting the development of short, small and light electronic products.
