It will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without some of these specific details. The following description of the embodiments is merely intended to provide a better understanding of the present invention by illustrating examples of the present invention.
It is noted that, herein, relational terms such as first and second, and the like may be used solely to distinguish one entity or action from another entity or action without necessarily requiring or implying any actual such relationship or order between such entities or actions. Also, the terms "comprises," "comprising," or any other variation thereof, are intended to cover a non-exclusive inclusion, such that a process, display panel, article, or apparatus that comprises a list of elements does not include only those elements but may include other elements not expressly listed or inherent to such process, display panel, article, or apparatus. Without further limitation, an element defined by the phrase "comprising … …" does not exclude the presence of other like elements in a process, display panel, article, or device that comprises the element.
For better understanding of the present invention, a circuit structure of a display panel is described with reference to fig. 1.
Fig. 1 is a schematic circuit diagram of a display panel. As shown in fig. 1, the display panel 100 includes a data signal line 101, a display test circuit 102, and a display control circuit 103.
A plurality of data signal lines 101 are arranged at intervals, and each data signal line is connected to a corresponding pixel and is used for providing a data signal to the corresponding pixel.
The display test circuit 102 includes a plurality of test switches T1, a plurality of test signal lines (e.g., the test signal lines R1, G1, B1 in fig. 1), and at least one test control line SW. The control terminal of the test switch T1 is electrically connected to the test control line SW. A first terminal of the test switch T1 is electrically connected to a corresponding test signal line, for example, a first terminal of the test switch connected to a red pixel is connected to a red test signal line R1. A second terminal of the test switch T1 is connected to the data signal line.
The display control circuit 103 includes a plurality of multiplexing units 104 (only one is illustrated in fig. 1), a plurality of display signal lines 105 (only one is illustrated in fig. 1), and a plurality of display control lines 106, a plurality of display signal pads 107, and a plurality of display control pads 108. The demultiplexing unit 104 includes a plurality of display switches T2. The control terminal of the display switch T2 is electrically connected to the display control line 106, the first terminal of the display switch T2 is electrically connected to the display signal line 105, and the second terminal of the display switch T2 is electrically connected to the data signal line 101. One end of the display signal line 105 is connected to the corresponding display switch T2, and the other end is connected to the corresponding display signal pad 107. The display control line 106 has one end connected to the corresponding display switch T2 and the other end connected to the corresponding display control pad 108.
As shown in fig. 1, the display panel 100 further includes a plurality of first control pads 109, and each first control pad 109 is connected to a control terminal of a corresponding display switch T2. When the VT test is performed, since the display signal pad 107 and the display control pad 108 are not connected to the driver chip yet and no corresponding signal can be applied, the control terminal and the one terminal of the display switch T2 are floating and at a floating potential, which may affect the test process of the display test circuit 102, and therefore a control signal is applied to the display switch T2 through the first control pad 109 to turn off the demultiplexing unit 104. However, in the current wiring design, the number of the first control pads 109 is related to the design of the demultiplexing unit 104. If the demultiplexing unit 104 is of a 1:6 design (i.e. comprises 6 display switches T2), the number of first control pads 109 also needs to be at least 6. Whereas if the demultiplexing unit 104 is of a 1:12 design (i.e. comprises 12 display switches T2), the number of first control pads 109 also needs to be at least 12. This circuit design occupies more area of the display panel 100, which increases the difficulty of the narrow bezel design.
In order to solve the technical problems, embodiments of the present invention provide a display panel, a manufacturing method thereof, and a display device, which provide a new line design, are more favorable for implementing a narrow-bezel design, and reduce the line arrangement difficulty of the narrow-bezel display panel. The following first describes a display panel provided in an embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a schematic structural diagram of a circuit of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention; fig. 3 is a schematic structural diagram of a circuit of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention; fig. 4 is a schematic structural diagram of a circuit of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in fig. 2 to 4, the display panel 200 includes a data signal line 201, a display test circuit 202, a display control circuit 203, a first control pad 209, and a unidirectional circuit 211.
A plurality of data signal lines 201 are arranged at intervals, and each data signal line 201 is connected to a corresponding pixel and is used for providing a data signal for the corresponding pixel. Illustratively, in some embodiments of the present invention, the pixels are arranged in an RGB manner, and each pixel is provided with a data signal from a corresponding data signal line 201 for display. In some embodiments of the present invention, other designs for the pixels may be used, such as an RGBW arrangement, or an R/B, G, R/B arrangement. It should be understood that the arrangement of the pixels does not affect the use of the circuit provided by the present invention, as long as the corresponding adjusting part circuit, for example, adjusts the structures of the display test circuit 202 and the display control circuit 203.
The display test circuit 202 includes a plurality of test switches T1, a plurality of test signal lines (e.g., the test signal lines R1, G1, B1 in fig. 2), and at least one test control line SW. In performing the VT test, the VT test is performed by opening the test switch T1 by applying a corresponding signal to the test control line SW and then supplying the test signal to the corresponding data signal line through the corresponding test signal line.
The display control circuit 203 includes a plurality of multiplexing units 204 (only one is illustrated in fig. 2), a plurality of display signal lines 205, and a plurality of display control lines 206. The demultiplexing unit 204 includes a plurality of display switches T2. The control terminal of the display switch T2 is electrically connected to the display control line 206, the first terminal of the display switch T2 is electrically connected to the display signal line 205, and the second terminal of the display switch T2 is electrically connected to the data signal line 201. Illustratively, in the embodiment of the present invention, the demultiplexing unit 204 adopts a 1:6 design, each display signal line 205 is connected to 6 data signal lines 201 through the demultiplexing unit 204, and a data signal is distributed to each data signal line 201 through the demultiplexing unit 204, so that the number of the display signal lines 205 can be reduced, a narrow frame can be realized, and the pin requirement of the display driving chip can be reduced. It should be understood that the circuit structure of the display panel provided by the present invention, the demultiplexing unit 204 is not limited to 1:6 design, and other designs, such as 1:3 or 1:12, may be adopted according to the requirement. The display control line 206 provides display control signals CKH 1-CKH 6, and turns on or off the display switch T2 through the display control signals CKH 1-CKH 6, so as to provide the data signals on the display signal line 205 to the corresponding data signal line 201 and further to the corresponding pixel unit.
The first control pad 209 and the unidirectional circuit 211 are used to turn off the multiplexing unit 204 at the VT test. Specifically, in some embodiments of the present invention, the control terminals of at least two display switches T2 of the same demultiplexing unit 204 are connected to the same first control pad 209 through a unidirectional circuit 211. As shown in fig. 2 and 3, in some embodiments of the present invention, the control terminals of all the display switches T2 of the same demultiplexing unit 204 are connected to the same first control pad 209 through a unidirectional circuit 211. Of course, in some embodiments of the present invention, the control terminals of the display switches T2 of the same multiplexing unit 204 may not all be connected to the same first control pad 209 through the unidirectional circuit 211, for example, the control terminals of 2-3 display switches T2 may be connected to the same first control pad 209 through the unidirectional circuit 211, and the number of the first control pads 209 also increases accordingly.
In some embodiments of the present invention, the control terminals of at least two display switches T2 of different multiplexing units 204 are connected to the same first control pad 209 through a unidirectional circuit 211. As shown in fig. 4, the control terminals of all the display switches T2 of the two demultiplexing units 204 are connected to the same first control pad 209 through the unidirectional circuit 211. It should be understood that in other embodiments, the control terminals of all the display switches T2 of 2 or more demultiplexing units 204 may also be connected to the same first control pad 209 through the unidirectional circuit 211. Alternatively, the control terminals of the partial display switches T2 (e.g., one or two display switches T2) of two or more of the demultiplexing units 204 are connected to the same first control pad 209 through the unidirectional circuit 211.
By adopting the display panel 200 provided by the embodiment of the invention, when the VT test is performed, the first control pad 209 applies a corresponding control signal to turn off the multi-path distribution unit 204, thereby avoiding the influence of the multi-path distribution unit 204 on the VT test. As an example, the switch T2 is shown as a P-type transistor, and the demultiplexing unit 204 is turned off by applying a high level signal to the first control pad 209 during the VT test.
In the embodiment of the invention, since the control end of the display switch of the multiplexing unit is connected with the first control pad through the unidirectional circuit, all the display switches of the multiplexing unit can be turned off through a small number of the first control pads. Compared with the circuit structure shown in fig. 1, the number of the first control pads is greatly reduced, so that the area required by the frame of the display panel can be reduced, and the width of the step of the display panel can be reduced. In other words, the circuit structure of the display panel provided by the embodiment of the invention is more favorable for realizing narrow frame design, namely reducing the difficulty of narrow frame design.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the unidirectional circuit 211 functions to allow only a signal to be transmitted from the first control pad 209 to the control terminal of the corresponding display switch T2, and not to allow a signal to be transmitted from the control terminal of the display switch T2 to the first control pad 209. Illustratively, as shown in fig. 2 to 4, the unidirectional circuit 211 includes a diode device, the control terminal of the display switch T2 corresponding to the negative electrode of the diode device is electrically connected, and the positive electrodes of the diode devices electrically connected to the same first control pad 209 are electrically connected to each other. Illustratively, the diode device includes a thin film transistor having a gate shorted to the first or second pole.
Referring to fig. 3 to 4, in some embodiments of the invention, the display panel 200 further includes a second control pad 210. The second control pad 210 is used to control the turning off of the unidirectional circuit 211. The second control pad 210 is connected to the demultiplexing unit in a manner described with reference to the first control pad 209. That is, the control terminals of the at least two display switches T2 are connected to the second control pad 210 through the unidirectional circuit 211. When the display panel is tested for display, the display driving chip supplies data signals to the data signal lines 201 through the demultiplexing unit 204, the display signal lines 205, and the display control lines 206. At this time, it is necessary to turn off the unit circuit 211 to avoid the display control line 206 from being short-circuited, thereby causing signal confusion. Illustratively, in the embodiment of the present invention, the display switch T2 is a P-type transistor, and when displaying, the unidirectional circuit 211 may be turned off by applying a low-level signal to the second control pad 210, thereby preventing the display control line 206 from being short-circuited.
Referring to fig. 2 to 4, in some embodiments of the invention, the display panel 200 further includes a plurality of display signal pads 207 and a plurality of display control pads 208. The display signal lines 205 corresponding to the display signal pads 207 are connected, and the display control pads 208 are connected to the corresponding display control lines 206. That is, one end of the display signal line 105 is connected to the corresponding display switch T2, and the other end is connected to the corresponding display signal pad 107. The display control line 106 has one end connected to the corresponding display switch T2 and the other end connected to the corresponding display control pad 108. The display signal pad 207 and the display control pad 208 are used for connection with the display driving chip. The display driving chip applies corresponding signals to the corresponding display signal lines 205 and display control lines 206 through the display signal pads 207 and display control pads 208.
In some embodiments of the present invention, the display panel 200 further includes a plurality of test signal pads and at least one test control pad. The test signal pads are connected to corresponding test signal lines (e.g., R1, G1, B1), and the test control pads are connected to corresponding test control signal lines SW.

A display test circuit (e.g., the display test circuit 202), a display control circuit (e.g., the display control circuit 203), a unidirectional circuit (e.g., the unidirectional circuit 211), a first control pad (e.g., the first control pad 209), a second control pad (e.g., the second control pad 210) are provided in the non-display area 20.
As shown in fig. 5, the non-display area 20 includes a test pad area 30 and a display pad area 40.
