Description

Roller mouse
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an input device, and more particularly, to a wheel mouse.
Background
The roller mouse is one of the common peripheral input devices of the computer, and is the most common input device because the roller mouse can be held by a palm of a user to control the movement of a cursor of the computer system, and accords with the intuitive operation habit of most users.
First, the structure and function of the roller mouse of the prior art will be described, referring to fig. 1, which is a schematic diagram of the structure of the roller mouse of the prior art connected to a computer system. The computer system 100 includes a computer host 101 and a computer screen 102, the computer host 101 is connected to the roller mouse 1 and the computer screen 102, respectively, and the computer host 101 has a connection interface 1011, and the computer screen 102 can display a window 1021 and a cursor 1022. The function of the roller mouse 1 is to control the cursor 1022 to move or operate in response to the operation of the user, so that the execution host 101 executes the corresponding instruction. The wheel mouse 1 includes a housing 10, left and right keys 11, 12, a wheel 13, and a connection line 14. The left key 11 is disposed on the housing 10 and located at the left side of the roller 13, and the left key 11 is exposed outside the housing 10 and can be pressed by a user to generate a left key signal. The first rotation shaft 222 passes through the first opening 212 and the roller body 221 to be combined with the roller body 221, and can rotate relative to the housing 21 and synchronously rotate with the roller body 221. The second rotation shaft 223 passes through the second opening 213 and is connected to the first rotation shaft 222, which is rotatable with respect to the housing 21 and rotates in synchronization with the first rotation shaft 222. The circuit board 224 is disposed below the housing 21, the encoder 225 is disposed on the circuit board 224 and electrically connected to the circuit board 224, and the encoder 225 has an encoder opening 2251. Wherein the second rotation shaft 223 extends into the encoder opening 2251, and when the second rotation shaft 223 rotates, the encoder 225 is triggered to generate a corresponding wheel rolling signal.
Referring to fig. 3, fig. 4 and fig. 5, fig. 5 is a schematic front view showing a partial structure of a roller mouse according to a preferred embodiment of the invention. The waterproof module 23 is disposed on the housing 21, and has a function of filling a first gap g1 between the first rotating shaft 222 and the first opening 212, and filling a second gap g2 between the second rotating shaft 223 and the second opening 213, so as to prevent external liquid from entering the housing 21. The waterproof module 23 includes a waterproof cover 231 and a waterproof ring 232. The waterproof cover 231 protrudes into the first opening 212 and functions to fill the first gap g1 between the first rotation shaft 222 and the first opening 212, while blocking the passage of the external liquid through the first opening 212. The waterproof ring 232 is sleeved on the second rotating shaft 223, and functions to fill the second gap g2 between the second rotating shaft 223 and the second opening 213, and to block the external liquid from passing through the second opening 213. In detail, the waterproof cover 231 extends into the first opening 212 and is attached to the first opening wall 2121 of the first opening 212, and the waterproof ring 232 is sleeved on the second rotating shaft 223 and is attached to the second opening wall 2131 of the second opening 213. In the preferred embodiment, the waterproof cover 231 and the waterproof ring 232 are made of rubber materials.
The coupling relationship of the roller module 22, the waterproof module 23, and the housing 21 is described in detail below. In fig. 3, 4 and 5, the first rotation shaft 222 is connected to the roller body 221 through the roller hole 2211, wherein the shape of the first rotation shaft 222 is complementary to the shape of the roller hole 2211, so that the first rotation shaft 222 can rotate synchronously with the roller body 221. In the preferred embodiment, the first rotation shaft 222 is rectangular, and the roller hole 2211 is a rectangular hole complementary to the rectangle, which is used for illustration, but not limitation. In another preferred embodiment, the shape of the first rotating shaft may be any shape other than circular, that is, any shape that can enable the first rotating shaft and the roller body to combine and rotate synchronously. The shape of the roller hole is only complementary with that of the non-circular shape.
On the other hand, the second rotation shaft 223 includes a shaft body 2231, a first connection portion 2232, and a second connection portion 2233. The shaft body 2231 is fixed in the housing 21 through the second opening 213, and the shaft body 2231 has an annular groove 2231A. The waterproof ring 232 is sleeved on the annular groove 2231A and is attached to the second opening wall 2131 of the second opening 213 to fill the second gap g2. The first connection portion 2232 is disposed at a first end of the shaft 2231, and is connectable with the first rotation shaft 222. The first connection portion 2232 has a connection groove 2232A that functions to receive the first end of the first rotation shaft 222 therein, and the shape of the connection groove 2232A is complementary to the shape of the first end of the first rotation shaft 222. A second connection 2233 is provided at a second end of shaft 2231 that extends into encoder opening 2251 to connect with encoder 225. Wherein the shape of the second connection 2233 is complementary to the shape of the encoder opening 2251. In addition, the snap ring 24 is disposed on the shaft body 2231, and functions to fix the second rotation shaft 223 in the housing 21 by means of a snap manner. By means of the snap ring 24, the roller module 22 can be fixed on the housing 21, so as to prevent the roller module 22 from falling off the housing 21.
Two of the above-mentioned steps are described below, namely, the steps of combining the roller module 22, the waterproof module 23 and the housing 21: first, the encoder 225 is assembled on the circuit board 224, the waterproof ring 232 is disposed on the annular groove 2231A, and the second connecting portion 2233 extends into the encoder opening 2251 to connect with the extending encoder 225. Thereafter, the snap ring 24 is disposed on the shaft 2231. Next, the first rotation shaft 222 passes through the first opening 212 and the roller opening 2211 and extends into the connection groove 2232A to connect the first rotation shaft 222 and the second rotation shaft 223. Finally, a waterproof cover 231 is provided to extend into the first opening 212 and to engage the first opening wall 2121.
Second, to ensure the waterproof effect of the waterproof module 23, the waterproof ring 232 is attached to the second opening wall 2131 of the second opening 213. However, in order to avoid the situation that the second rotation shaft 223 is not smoothly rotated or is difficult to be rotated due to excessive friction between the second rotation shaft 223 or the waterproof ring 232 and the second opening wall 2131, the outer surface of the shaft body 2231 and the second opening wall 2131 may be polished, and the shaft body 2231 may smoothly rotate relative to the housing 21 when the waterproof ring 232 is brought into contact with the second opening wall 2131. In a preferred embodiment, a lubricant may be applied to the waterproof ring 232 to reduce friction between the waterproof ring 232 and the second opening wall 2131.
As can be seen from the above, the roller mouse of the present invention is provided with a waterproof module for the path of the external liquid flowing into the housing, i.e. the waterproof cover is used to fill the first gap between the first rotating shaft and the first opening, and the waterproof ring is used to fill the second gap between the second rotating shaft and the second opening. Therefore, the roller mouse can prevent external liquid from entering the inside of the shell, provide a waterproof function and improve the problems in the prior art.
The foregoing description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention is not intended to limit the scope of the claims, and therefore, other equivalent changes or modifications that do not depart from the spirit of the invention are intended to be included in the claims.
