Description

Method and device for activating management software of network equipment
Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to the field of network management software technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for activating management software of a network device.
Background
With the development and maturity of the device technology, the device tends to be more and more homogeneous, in order to ensure the integrity of the solution, the device is generally pre-installed with management software when leaving a factory, the pre-installed management software can be synchronously distributed with the device and can be bound, activated and used with the distributed device, and thus, the process that after the management software is installed and deployed, a license is required to be applied online and then activated is registered can be greatly simplified.
In the prior art, management software adopts a scheme of applying for a license online and then registering activation. Specifically, the administrator collects information of the user, the management software and the installation and deployment machine through a self-contained or attached registration tool of the management software, and packages the information into a file. The administrator applies for the website by logging in the license of the management software, uploads the information collected by the registration tool, applies for the license, and downloads a license activation file or an activation code. And the administrator opens a registration entrance of the management software, uploads a license activation file or inputs an activation code, and activates the management software.
However, the scheme of applying for license on line and then registering and activating is only suitable for a pure software system scheme, and for a software system sold together with an all-in-one machine or bound hardware, the implementation and the use process of the scheme are complex, for example, complex registration tools and activation functions need to be developed for managing software, and simultaneously, a license application website on line needs to be developed, so that a great deal of cost needs to be invested in implementation. Meanwhile, when the system is used, the manager needs to manually collect information of users, management software and installed and deployed machines, apply for license online, and then manually register license locally by the manager to activate the system. The online license application may also need to be subject to manual approval, and the time of the manual approval is also uncontrollable.

fig. 3 is a schematic structural diagram of a network device provided by the present disclosure.
Detailed Description
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiments, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. When the following description refers to the accompanying drawings, like numbers in different drawings represent the same or similar elements unless otherwise indicated. The embodiments described in the following exemplary embodiments do not represent all embodiments consistent with the present specification. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatus and methods consistent with certain aspects of the specification, as detailed in the appended claims.
At present, the differentiated competition among manufacturers of network devices is stronger, and in order to generate the differentiated competitive advantage with other manufacturers, manufacturers sell corresponding software products when selling hardware products, for example, when selling servers, a software management system of network devices is pre-installed in the hardware servers. When a hardware server is used for the first time, the problem of activating a software management system (referred to as management software in this application) is involved. In view of the diversified product sales schemes, the present disclosure provides a method for activating management software of a network device, which can be applied to a network device, such as a server, a storage device, etc., on which the management software is installed.
Specifically, fig. 1 is a schematic flowchart of a method for activating management software provided by the present disclosure, and as shown in fig. 1, the method includes:
step 201, after the management software is confirmed to pass the login authentication, judging whether the management software is activated, if not, executing step 203. And if the operation instruction is activated, normally receiving an operation instruction of an administrator, and running the management software according to the operation instruction.
The management software of the application needs to be activated when being used for the first time, and the management software can be normally used only by being activated.
In the related art, after license is acquired, login authentication is performed. The difference between the present disclosure and the related technologies is that, in the activation method of the management software in the present disclosure, login authentication is performed first, that is, the management software installed on the network device is used as a client, and an authentication request is sent to a server of the management software, that is, a server, where the authentication request includes a user name and a password. And the server of the management software authenticates according to the user name and the password carried in the authentication request. And if the authentication is passed, sending a response that the authentication is passed to the management software on the client side. The username and password are typically notified to the administrator after the sale in a variety of ways, such as through a user manual.
And judging whether the management software is activated or not when the login authentication of the management software is determined to pass according to the response of the authentication passing. Generally, there are various ways to determine whether management software is activated.
If the management software is activated once, setting an identification bit, and determining whether the management software is activated or not through the change of the identification bit.
Alternatively, the method provided in the embodiment of the present disclosure may also be adopted, that is, for a network device that has been activated, the hardware parameter of the network device is added to the management list, and the management list may be used to record a device managed by the management software, or the management list may also only record the hardware parameter of the activated network device. For example, if the network device currently installed with the management software is server a, the hardware parameter of server a is 11. If the management software installed by server a is activated, the hardware parameters of server a may be added to the management list.
Optionally, the hardware parameter may be a serial number sn (serial number) or a MAC address of the network device. Of course, the network device may also be other identifiers that can uniquely identify the network device or identify hardware units in the network device.
And step 203, jumping to a first preset page, wherein the first preset page is used for receiving the management parameters of the network equipment. The management software establishes communication with the network equipment through management parameters to acquire hardware parameters of the network equipment.
Through the first preset interface, an administrator can write the management parameters of the network equipment, so that the management software establishes communication with the network equipment through the management parameters. For example, the management parameter may be any one or more of a management IP address, a port, a user name, a password, a community word, a namespace, a name of the storage system. Wherein the management software communicates with the network device using the management IP address as a source IP address.
The specific management parameters may be determined according to a communication protocol of the management software and the network device in which the management software is installed. For example, if a Storage Management interface standard SMI-S (Storage Management Initiative specification, SMI-S for short) is adopted, the first preset interface may prompt the administrator to input Management parameters such as a name, an IP address, a port, a user name, and a password of the namespace and the Storage system.
The communication protocol between the management software and the network device in which the management software is installed may be a Representational State Transfer (REST) protocol, a netconf protocol, a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), or the like. Specifically, the communication protocol between the two may be fixed in advance. In addition, it should be explained here that, since the management software in the present disclosure may be installed in the memory of the network device, the communication between the management software and the network device may specifically refer to the communication between the memory of the network device and the processor or other hardware unit of the network device.
Alternatively, in another alternative embodiment, after step 201, if it is determined that the management software is not activated, before step 203, the method may further perform: step 2021-step 2024.
Step 2021, the network management software may jump to a second preset page, where the second preset page is used to display the model of the activatable device.
Step 2022, receive the model number of the device selected by the administrator.
Alternatively, the model of the activatable device may be preset, for example, a manufacturer may produce servers of different models, and then the model information and/or manufacturer information of all the models of servers produced may be preset. After step 201, if it is determined that the management software is not activated, the preset model information of the server is displayed to the administrator through a second preset page for the administrator to select.
It should be understood that the model number of the activatable device is not limited to the model number of the network device of the manufacturer's home, but may be the model number of the network device of other co-manufacturers. Alternatively, or in other words, the management software may be installed in the network devices of the partner vendors and sold together.
Step 2023, determining the communication protocol corresponding to the selected device model according to the selected device model and the preset correspondence between the device model and the communication protocol.
The administrator can select the model of the device according to the actual product condition, and after the management software receives the model information of the device selected by the administrator, the communication protocol supported by the model of the device can be determined according to the model information of the product, wherein the communication protocol is the communication protocol between the management software and the network device.
Step 2024, determining the management parameters to be received by the first preset interface according to the communication protocol.
For example, if it is determined that the SMI-S protocol is supported between the management software and the network device according to the product model, the user may be prompted to input necessary management parameters such as a name space and a name of the storage system through the first preset interface.
Step 205, the management software determines whether the hardware parameter exists in a list of preset activatable devices; if so, go to step 207. And if not, prompting the user that the management software cannot be activated.
Specifically, the list of preset activatable devices may include hardware parameters, such as MAC addresses, which are currently produced by the manufacturer and can use the management software. If the hardware parameters acquired by the management software in step 203 exist in the list of the preset activatable devices, step 207 is executed.
Step 207, add the network device to the management list of the management software.
In step 207, the hardware parameters of the network device may be added to the management list, and after the management software recognizes that the managed network device exists in the management list, the management software is activated by default, and various functions of the management software may be used normally.
It can be seen that, in the activation method of management software provided by the present disclosure, the scheme of applying for license online and then registering for activation in the prior art is simplified, and an online approval process of license is not required, so that the deployment efficiency of a manager on network devices is greatly improved, and meanwhile, differentiated requirements of products are met.
Optionally, on the basis of the foregoing embodiment, as to step 201, optionally, after determining that the management software login authentication passes, the management software sends an acquisition request of the list of activatable devices to the server of the management software, where the acquisition request is used to acquire the list of activatable devices from the server of the management software. So that the list of activatable devices can be made up-to-date. Of course, the list of activatable devices may also be preconfigured in the network device.
According to the method and the device, the latest list of the activatable devices can be obtained by logging in authentication first, so that the problem that the latest network devices generated by a manufacturer cannot be activated in the list of the activatable devices is solved.
In another alternative embodiment, because there may be a cheating problem for the activation of the management software, for example, a problem that another legitimate device activates the management software, for a device added to the management list of the management software, there may be only a network device on which the management software is installed, so that the binding of the management software and the network device on which the management software is located may be implemented, and when the management software detects that the network device added to the management list of the management software (i.e., the network device is the network device on which the management software is located) is deleted, or alternatively, when the management software detects that the network device bound to the management software is deleted from the management list, a login page is skipped, and the login page is used to re-log in the authentication of the user and re-perform device activation. This avoids the problem of cheating in managing the activation of software.
And (4) jumping to a login page and re-executing the step 201 to the step 207 because the network equipment in the management list is deleted.
The present disclosure also provides an activation apparatus for management software of a network device, and fig. 2 is a schematic structural diagram of the activation apparatus provided by the present disclosure, and as shown in fig. 2, the apparatus includes:

the judging module 301 is further configured to determine, by the management software, whether the hardware parameter exists in a list of preset activatable devices; and if so, adding the network equipment into a management list of the management software.
Optionally, the skip module 302 is further configured to skip to a second preset page when the management software is not activated, where the second preset page is used to display the model of the activatable device;
optionally, the obtaining module 303 is further configured to receive a model of the device selected by the administrator, and determine, according to the model of the selected device and a preset correspondence between the model of the device and the communication protocol, a communication protocol corresponding to the model of the selected device; and determining the management parameters to be received by the first preset interface according to the communication protocol.
Optionally, the obtaining module 303 is further configured to: after the management software login authentication is determined to pass, acquiring a list of the activatable devices from a server of the management software so that the list of the activatable devices is the latest list.
