Optical storage is a mass data storage means using an optical disc as a storage medium, has the advantages of low energy consumption, mobility, long data storage period and the like, and is very suitable for storing data which has low access frequency and needs to be stored for a long time.
The existing storage technology mainly comprises three storage modes, namely a hard disk for magnetic storage, a U disk (including an SD card) for semiconductor storage and an optical disk for optical storage. However, magnetic memory, like semiconductor memory, loses information when subjected to a strong electromagnetic field, and information can be rewritten at any time; read-only and non-rewritable after a write can be achieved only by optical storage. Optical storage is therefore the safest and optical discs are an indispensable information carrier medium in today's information society.
